Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the lying liar who lies, Charlie Crist, held their one and only debate last night. Of all the gubernatorial debates so far, this one was probably the best. Thankfully, DeSantis won the debate on substance because Crist just sucks. However, DeSantis flubbed the most predictable question that was asked.
Every Floridian should vote for DeSantis, because Crist is just an unbearable alternative. That said, the insufferable Charlie Crist asked Governor DeSantis to commit to a four-year term in office and promise the Florida voters he would not abandon his state to run for the GOP nomination in 2024; effectively making DeSantis only a six-month reelected governor because national campaigning will start in June 2023.
It is true, the question should have come from the moderator, because it’s a transparently obvious and predictable question. However, regardless of who actually asked it, the non-response from Governor DeSantis was telling. WATCH (just first minute):
.
A few things about that non-response are remarkable.
First, even a middle school debate coach would have known that question was likely in the debate. The fact that DeSantis did not have a well-rehearsed and prepared canned answer to the question is a reflection of stunningly poor debate prep.
Second, the evasive and non-truthful answer he did give, totally avoiding the question, shows the incredible weakness within a candidate that is a specific outcome of a lack of honesty. That response is also reflective of why Donald Trump wins every debate. Trump wields truth as an effective weapon.
HONESTY – Ron DeSantis could have said, “Charlie, because of my successful leadership in the state of Florida, there are a lot of people who want me to run for the GOP nomination in 2024. There are also a lot of people offering money as an incentive for me to make that decision because the current state of our nation under Joe Biden is in such a mess. Whether I will or not is an open question that voters should consider; but I can assure everyone my work on behalf of Florida -a state I love- will never change.”
That type of an answer would be honest and respected. Florida voters deserve to know where Governor DeSantis stands on a 2024 presidential campaign. After all, it will consume most of the focus and time of the governor for 18 months before November 2024.
That type of an answer should also have been canned in a response awaiting the question. The absence of that type of an honest answer tells us something about the campaign authenticity aspect to Ron DeSantis.
The truth has no agenda, while the absence of truth always does.
This authenticity aspect is why Donald Trump won every one of the dozen debates in 2015 and 2016. He just speaks the truth regardless of comfort, expectation or disposition.
Q: “You have called women fat pigs etc.?” – A: “Only Rosie O’Donnell”…
Q: “You called Mexicans rapists etc.?” – A: “Well, someone’s doing the raping”…
Q: “You only support people who like you?” – A: “It’s true. I only like the people who like me”…
Q: “You have been talking to Kim Jong-un?” – A: “True. Shouldn’t we talk to everyone and try to avoid conflict? We also got along great”…
There’s no pretense in Trump’s responses. There is an authenticity in the humanness of the honesty. Trump wins debates because he answers the questions honestly as he sees them. He’s not uncomfortable being honest about his intent, reasons or even his own self-image.
Ron DeSantis on the other hand avoids his own discomfort in answering a question that should have been easily predicted. There is something very unnerving about it.
Every Floridian should vote for Ron DeSantis, granting him the benefit of the doubt that he will be around as governor for the next four years. However, if/when DeSantis wins reelection, he would destroy his own career by announcing a 2024 run six months later.
Here’s a video of the full debate:
.
That “deer in the headlights” look on DeceptiRon’s face when Crist asked him the question, priceless. Trump will have a field day with DeceptiRon when they debate.
Debate prep should also include ‘what to do when your not talking’.
When DeSantis is responding to debate questions he does fine.
But, when he’s just standing their, while Crist is yapping, there is something odd about him, his appearance. 🤔
Very odd.
Edit: It just hit me, the only other time I saw that weird look was when the tomcat slinked into the garage and was eyeballing the kittens like he might eat a few of them, a creepy Cheshire Cat expression. I only caught one glimpse of it at the very beginning before the Crist groupies started shrieking right after the moderator called for no outbursts after responses.
He has a guilty air about him… conscienceb bothering him?
Remember he was recently on a short list of 3 candidates that should run. That list was provided by the ESTABLISHMENT RINO republicans. Not a good sign.
Uh oh….
Ron looked like he had:
-severe indigestion,
-irritable bowel syndrome
and / or
-he wanted to cry.
He reminded me of a bobble-head.
He’s a politician. They all are inauthentic and our lizard brain picks up on the inherent dishonesty and senses danger.
I noticed how odd all politicians are during the early 2016 GOP debates. Trump and Carson made the others seem disturbed or not quite human because their behavior is so unnatural.
He really thought no one noticed he is running a national campaign. And in truth, had Sundance not dragged me out with facts, evidence and example, I wouldn’t have seen it either. It took me at least two weeks after Mar-a-lago before I fully accepted it.
While there are still people who don’t see it or deny seeing it, I think there are enough people talking about it now that it won’t be long.
I was down in Perdido last week and they were running tv ads in support of “convincing” DeSantis that the people need him to run for president. Obviously run by and with support of his campaign.
its shocking he didnt have an answer for that question which was an absolutely fair question and undoubtedly needed to be asked… this tells me either bad debate prep or more likely the committee of advisors he has telling him what to do couldnt figure out that the best answer here was an honest one. They simply cant understand that.
Virtually all Youtube political ads are DeSantis ads
Yes. When Sundance posted his first article revealing DeSantis’ national aspirations, it caught me off guard as well. But only for maybe a minute or two. Here’s why.
When Sundance posts a “revelatory” article on CTH, that means he has thought about it for awhile, researched it to make sure his perceptions weren’t wrong or misled by some other incident or quotes etc., and analyzed the logic (or illogic) of the indicated or implied forward actions..
So when Sundance’s article appears here, I’m not long to convince of its substance. His track record is pretty solid. And sometimes there are a one or two other independent bloggers / journalists who’ve reached similar conclusions, although from my research Sundance led the pack by at least a week or more on publicly revealing DeSantis’ 2024 Presidential campaign planning.
Re: That “deer in the headlights” look on DeceptiRon’s face ….
True, I am really surprised that DeSantis team didn’t prepare the question for him well.
You could just see the wheels were furiously churning in Ron’s head with that pregnant pause, deer in the headlights look. Then DeSantis came up with such a lame comebacker.
===> Which leads me to the conclusion that Ron DeSantis needs at least another full term as FL gov to hone his skills, he’s currently NOT READY for the national spotlight that Trump had to endure. IF he’s successful at being a large state governor with more experience, AND stick to MAGA commitment, then the base could be persuaded to rally around him.
My prediction is that Ron DeSantis will be swayed by mega-donor base and show his true color sooner rather than later.
He voted for the TPP.
No further honing required.
Nuff said. 😎
But Obamabot Lake is A-OK? “Even Trump was a Democrat once! People change!” is the typical comeback around here when that is pointed out about flavor of the week Lake.
So, he voted for something as a frosh rep. Maybe he’s changed, too, just like Trump and Lake.
so after your VERY heated debate about the worthiness of RDS your ONLY defense is that someone else MIGHT be considering it too (I do not believe this to be the case as you suggest)…..OK…..talk about a COMPLETE surrender and collapse
He voted for fast track. TPP never actually was put forth for a vote. Elements had been pretty much ironed out, but Trump killed TPP
He did vote for TPP that’s a real data point. Maybe he did change his mind, but we don’t know, because it’s never been discussed by him. His fundraising says he hasn’t changed, it says he’s still the US Chamber’s guy.
The only mind-changing I’ve ever seen in politicians is they betray us harder once they win an election.
There is no way DeSantis will transform into TurboMAGA Man once elected
Exactly!!👍
Trump will tear him apart on that alone.
Ron needs to stay in Florida and cultivate an heir apparent.
Brief as the split screen portion was, the man was so exquisitely uncomfortable I could hardly stand to watch. One word: shifty-eyed.
Maybe Trump watched this moment and if so he might have said to himself…”well, this guy just lost my choice for a running mate!”
I believe Tulsi Gabbard will be the VP running mate of whichever gets the nomination, DJT or DeSantis.
We may have the same crystal ball…
I hope she is not. Just because she has abandoned the dark side doesn’t mean Tulsi is actually one of us, or anything close to it.
Perhaps President Trump would pick Tulsi however, I doubt it.
My current favorite VP choice is non politician, down to earth charismatic, always uber MAGA, media savvy, battle tested, Steve Cortes; the famous Chalk Talk guy.
He’s the only person besides Sundance who makes Trumps MAGAnomic policies enchanting.
In the past I accused DeSantis of being a clone of the likes of Pence ,Chris Christie and Mitt Romney with a higher IQ. I was wrong .
I guess he just has higher memory recall giving him the ability to spew practiced focus group deceptions with ease.
Who ever missed feeding him a response for that softball question has , as Rickey Ricardo would say, Some Splainin To Do..
Thankfully we can never unsee that flaw in this RINO Decepticon political hack.
Whatever will Florida do if they actually vote this RINO decepticon hack back into office? Have you seen the polls? Floridians must be crazy. I mean, accomplishments aside, a hack is a hack!!
/s
who else are they going to vote for?
Not the dem.
Dear digitally chatty Kathy, being a good state governor, especially in a MAGA Republican state =/= being a good presidential candidate much less a MAGA POTUS.
I didn’t see “dear in the headlights,” hard to say what it was to me.
I will try though; it seemed like a rehearsed defiance. Rehearsed in front of the mirror. It seemed like he liked his acting, smarting off. Looked immature.
I think it was defiance because the rules of the debate were set and agreed to in advance. The candidates were not allowed to ask each other questions. I took it he was waiting for the moderator to step in.
I agree though that he should have been prepared for Crist to ask that or any question. He should have had a ready reply, ditto for the audience.
The candidates were not allowed to ask each other questions.
Yet the jury can’t unhear it.
“Not allowed”.
Yet it happened so, in fact, it WAS ” allowed.
Then rather than dealing with it himself, Ron waited for teacher mommy moderator to enforce the rules.
Typical good boy GOPe response?
I prefer alpha male, apex predator Trump to be my champion in DC and in the world.
Beta good boys need not apply.
The moderators always ask that question. They had to know it was coming.
Unless Team Ron had a deal with the moderators that the question would NOT be asked.
Never forget he proudly did the most cringe ad in ages with the Top Gun ad. I can’t even look at him without laughing.
Then putting out national ads about Ron being Americas Governor; a rip off of Guilianis post 9/11 name, Americas Mayor.
It makes no sense. That question is always asked – why wasn’t he ready?
It’s almost as if the GOPe Club chose the perfect candidate…to lose in 2024.
VSGPDJT may irritate some, and serve as a Babadook to the politically childish, but at least he’s a known quantity, and displays a certain breathtaking intellectual honesty that is necessary for our times.
The same cannot be said of RDS. In hedging his bets he risks losing everything.
Re: Crist, was it it with some slimy politicians these days—Pence, Biden and Crist and their white hair and Central Casting faces?
Losing in both places.
Throwing elections appears to be a standard operating procedure for the GOPe. Remembering 2018, with Ryan and Mitch,
MAGAdook frightens democracy. Turns them white.
“can’t sleep, orange man will eat me…”, Booga Booga Booga.
Fake Democracy Haters Again.
“They spied on a presidential campaign, on my campaign. They lied to the FISA court. They lied to congress. They lied about the dossier paid by Crooked Hillary. They investigated me and found out I was a patriot, just like you.”
— Donald J. Trump Oct. 22, 2022
I stand with those who have lost everything, even, in some instances, their lives, following Trump. I stand with the Roseanne Boylands, the Ashli Babbitts, the forgotten J6 political prisoners, some who have suicided when faced with further charges by flop-lipped Beria’s Jack Booted Thugs of the JustUs Department. I stand with the prisoners. They have suffered infinitely more than any Trump ever has. They suffer as our dear country is suffering under the heel of internationalist globohomopedo dictatorship.
No one is coming to save us. It is up to each of us to do our best wherever God has put us. We are to trust our Lord and never put our trust in any man. Never. Ever.
Wonderful post! I’m “being still”, praying, seeking discernment and standing ready.
great comment!
Nothing more needs to be said.
One can stand with all and then keep praying.
I sincerely hope that if DJT is elected to the Presidency in 2024 the very first thing he does after taking the oath of office is pardon ALL J6 prisoners.
Do you know what it’s like to have a price on your head (yours in particular) and to go through every day knowing that assassins are trying to get a clean shot at you wherever you go?
Do you have dozens of Deep State / federal government officials and their associates plotting 24/7 how to destroy you and your family by fabricating evidence of crimes and setting you up to inadvertently step into one of their snares? Do you know what it’s like to live every day knowing those activities are occurring simply to take you out?
I cannot imagine what that’s like, so I stand with everyone who’s been targeted by the corrupt Deep State because they endorsed PDJT and or MAGA policies. But I stand equally for President Trump himself. He stands alone at a podium in rally after rally, an easy target if a killer can get in range.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ AMEN!
“They have suffered more than any Trump has”.
Perhaps they’ve suffered more than you have suffered but you can choose differently if you get more presents.
More than any Trump? That’s unknowable so its a puzzling assertion.
What is knowable? The Trumps are knowingly and voluntarily putting everything on the line, including their lives and the lives of those they love to help us Save America.
The prisoners on the other hand did not knowingly and voluntarily choose their suffering although they are now heroically enduring their surprising persecution.
Trusting in God does NOT prevent having confidence in and working with the leader God has sent us, President Trump.
In fact, trusting in God makes it easier to have confidence in President Trumps leadership and to pray for him rather than fret posting about him.
Oh they totally want him to appease the stupid MAGA peasants when they remove Trump. And then they know that he will lose easily in the general thus keeping the Democrat in the White house and the GOP holding at least part of Congress – allowing the uniparty grift to go on and the continued destruction of a sovereign US.
Seems like splitting hairs to justify criticism of DeSantis. He is a great governor and the only option to Trump should he not run again. And we don’t know that he will. I don’t believe for a minute that DeSantis wants to challenge Trump. So perhaps he is not planning to run but just doesn’t know at this point until Trump makes a decision. Enough!
Trump is running. DeSantis is a great Governor – however he is a RINO a GOPe. Not a good choice for President. Sundance just listed all of his issues a few days ago. RDS has taken money from Club for Growth and then after that donation voted for Obama’s TPP which is a disaster for the US. He is bought and paid presidential candidate and would be beholding to the elites instead of the people.
SAD, but true! 🙁
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans-Pacific_Partnership
There is no TPP. It, therefore, is not a disaster for the US. Neither Clinton nor Trump wanted it. It was never ratified. Please do keep up.
Paul Ryan? Ted Cruz? TPP?
It’s the fact that he supported it. It made Ted Cruz a definite no vote for the presidency and does the same for DeSantis. If you support handing over US sovereignty to global consensus you should not be president ever.
Says”There is no TPP” then cites Wikipedia. A revealing choice.
There IS no TPP because Trump ran on preventing the Globalists wet dream from being implemented. He won. He cancelled it.
” Please try to keep up”.
Great advice. Take it.
Well Stated !!!!
please post a link to that list that Sundance posted on DeSantis issues…..thanks
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2022/10/24/governor-ron-desantis-endorses-senate-candidate-joe-odea-who-vows-to-campaign-against-donald-trump/
DeSantis voted for the Trade-Promotion Authority (TPA) that would have fast-tracked the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP). It could be important to make that distinction that DeSantis did not specifically vote for the TPP but for the TPA, even though that was bad because it would have helped the disastrous TPP.
His vote on this and other issues can be found here:
https://senate.ontheissues.org/Governor/Ron_DeSantis_Free_Trade.htm
A Sundance article from 2015 discussed the TPA and the TPP:
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2015/12/11/yes-unfortunately-ted-cruz-did-support-trans-pacific-trade-deal-tpa-with-video/
It would be very helpful if DeSantis would explain why he voted for the TPA and whether he supports the TPP. Although many people see him as a good governor, they need to know whether he would be “America First” as a president which would require that he be against trade deals like the TPP.
Good governor =/= Good President.
Only option? You’re obviously not watching Kari Lake. She’s the best Trump replacement … by far.
I really think we need to see how Kari performs as governor before falling head over heels.
Obama was a great campaigner but a lousy president
obama was a liar
Whatta mean was? IS
Kari Lake is an American, with a heart for her fellow citizens. That alone puts her head and shoulders over Barry and his empty heart, pretend, unaccomplished life, except to begin the destruction of our country.
Mark Finchem as SoS would be a huge help to her, and keep her honest.
Some verifiable actions to go along with the k l campaign words are needed
( pending election outcomes and potential service / action.)
Trust and verify that trust…
Imho
I agree, Kari Lake is both AWESOME & FORMIDABLE! She’s a MAGA Superstar for Arizona & this country. If she is willing after fulfilling her commitment to the people of Arizona, she’d be GREAT presidential material!!!
How do you know? She’s too perfect. She’s too slick. She is telling MAGA everything they want to hear. She asked DeSantis to campaign with her and he did.
Remember, Tulsi Gabbard was Mil Intel, PsyOps. But she’s left the Demonrat plantation and she is SOOOO MAGA now. Right.
I think you are all being played by Ms. Obamabot Lake, kinda like so many are being played by oh-too-perfect Ms. Samoan beauty queen Gabbard.
it is a possibility….we KNOW you are being played by RDS yet you REFUSE to admit that you are the gullible one in this instance
Kroesus you’ve been around for a long time but perhaps you’ve forgotten. Alligator Gar was not a DeSantis supporter during the last gubernatorial primary. So I really don’t think AG is gullible or being played by DeSantis.
If Lake is elected, by the time line in the above article, she would be 6 months into her first term when she starts the 2024 cycle.
That doesn’t sound like much of a vetting period, it does sound a lot like the Obama clean sheet of paper that was sold.
President Trump told MAGA everything we wanted to hear.
Then he went out and did it.
Don’t count Kari Lake out yet. Wait and see while being hopeful.
She was co-anchor on the number one news team in America’s 5th largest city for most of over 20 years. That job probably paid pretty well.
She walked away from that successful career for well stated reasons.
But she really left that comfy, secure job just to scam us? I find that hard to believe.
Until proven otherwise she is someone who has been in the belly of the beast, rejected it, and escaped it, to do battle with that same beast.
VSGDJT did the same thing.
We need to see how she performs as Governor before making any decisions on higher office. Actions speak louder than words.
Kenji, I just responded the same. I guess I should read a whole thread before commenting.
I agree. Ron is bought and paid for by RNC deep pockets now- just look at his campaign donors. Mitch endorses him, and so does Ronna.
As I said in my response: Ron just endorsed a full-blown GOP RINO Anti-MAGA R who vows never to support a MAGA Republican, ever. So what does that say about Ron? Us critical thinkers know.
Remember the treacherous Scottish nobles in Braveheart. That is most of our GOPe incumbants. They are at least half-owned by the other side and are mostly self-interested assholes. However, they do occasionally help us win battles, and without them, there is no prospect of winning the war.
Primarying them keeps them from automaticly betraying us as much as they would otherwise.
Absolutely, which is why if he runs, he will not be Trump’s VP choice, now after Trump’s team sees this he will certainly not be. I would choose a governor for that job. Kari Lake or that guy in PA, Mastriano(even if he loses). Those folks are true blue patriots. DeSantis is a CoC guy that is bought and paid for, he talks the talk, but will not in the future walk the walk. Reminds me of Pence, Ted Cruz and others that poster James Felter describes. Unfortunately, politics creates a lot of back stabbers.
There is NO need for President Trump to take an ally off Americas political game board.
Putting a politician on the ticket wont win President Trump any votes and he doesn’t need any politician to do what needs to be done in DC. In fact, a politician would likely hinder him.
Instead, he needs a person who is NOT a politician; someone from the real world who is battle tested. He needs an outsider willing and able to be a martyr if that’s what it takes to Save America.
Imo.
she is UNELECTED and UNTRIED to date….let us first see if actions match words…….we have elected TALKERS before…..remember Rubio….Ernst…..Scott?
Certainly but the available data…..
AGAIN….she has MOUTHED good policies…so have others….let us see how well they are implemented….I am hopeful as well but stand clear of being giddy over someone without a proven track record
AGAIN….until proven otherwise I’ll take her at her word.
I agree with you but his response was weak. Very weak. What you just said would have been a far better answer
Yep, the bashing continues of the best governor in the country…smh
We here at the Treehouse are deeply sorry that objective, quantifiable truth, simply laid out there for voluntary consumption, bothers you so much.
However, it remains objective, quantifiable, and simply – there.
Truth, has no agenda.
Expedy simply laid out that this is yet another DeSantis bashing thread. And that is simply the truth.
Lol. Reading comprehension. It’s what’s for breakfast.
No breakfast for me, I’m fasting.
To clarify, maybe I should apologize (oh dear)….
This is another DeSantis bashing COMMENT thread.
Silly me.
It isn’t bashing when it’s truth.
“Bashing”.
OMG violent words.
Muh hAtE sPeEch ie speech someone hates to read.
Emotional verb choices like “bashing” are NOT “simply the truth “.
However such verb choices do reveal the writers subjective bias.
Oh, self-righteous B.S.
Here in Wisco we had a great governor named Scott Walker. But then he absolutely failed as a presidential candidate. Few people are cut out for it.
What about Younkin? He is more on the down low but I think he is more honest and less in the grip of the deep state than Ron DeSantis politically. That said, the ego of all these politicians is really huge and they are only motivated by self love. Sure, Trump has an ego, but he was and is trying to save the country.
Trump is as selfless in this regard, country first, as a soldier sacrificing himself for his fellow soldiers, as a father looking out for his children. It is a good look on him. Trump is in a battle for all of us.
Can’t say that for DeSantis or anyone else, and I am tired of politics as usual.
Youngkin is owned by Wall Street investment banking, his pedigree. The same BLM/ESG/NeverTrump/ Woke cabal that is the Swamp. He plays to the votes, not to deep-held principles.
He’s controlled, like most all pols. They just give him and precious few longer leashes to stray on some issues the voters haven’t been behavioral science’d to support…yet.
Per Peter Navarro in his latest book, “Taking Back Trump’s America”, Youngkin is a non-starter as a VP for Trump in 2024. Despite his impressive win last year, his globalist and Wall Street ties should make him a no-go. Navarro cites Youngkin’s connections to the Carlyle Group and McKinsey & Company.
Some of us have been paying attention.
FL restricts API rounds, for a start. Secondly it doesn’t have Constitutional Carry.Thirdly it still has the same 2020 vote stealing/flipping computers. Fourth it has a red flag law.
Desantis says he’s for red flag laws
https://www.fox13news.com/news/desantis-hopes-red-flag-laws-will-help-thwart-future-shootings
Ron is taking money from the GOPe club. Deceptacon
The GOPe and it’s newest version of Mike Pence 2.0 is trying to subvert the MAGA movement that President Donald J Trump has been and is still the leader
He holds no independent wealth to keep the club away from influence.
Although Gov. DeSantis made all these great orders against vax mandates, they were never enforced against the cruise lines who operate in Florida.
If you want to take a cruise out of the Sunshine State you better be jabbed.
Hypocrisy at its finest.
What about taking this supposedly strong stand against pornographic sex ed through third grade –
But perfectly fine to groom kids fourth grade and up.
It seems like he does a little to look good, but when you really look at it it’s very weak.
DeSantis votes to approve TPP, the biggest multinational trade sellout program, surpassing even NAFTA in consequence.
Pat Buchanan called it “Economic Treason”, and made the Uniparty very uncomfortable by bringing it into the GOP Primaries in 1992 & 96. Most people don’t realize how bad TPP would be for America.
on the issue of international trade, multinational corporate influence, U.S. economic policy and Wall Street -vs- Main Street, we can clearly see why the billionaires in the club would be pushing tens-of-millions into the financing of Ron DeSantis as a Trump alternative.

DeSantis’s lackluster record on Free Speech. Read column below:
https://www.roguereview.net/rondeau-why-i-wont-compromise-on-the-first-amendment-for-desantis/
The question at hand is for the Governor for the state of Florida. THAT is the ONLY question or choice at hand, kapish!
So let’s compare and contrast.
You dislike DeSantis’ position on guns.
OK Charlie Crist said last night he wants an assault weapons ban in Florida. Do you think Crist will support constitutional carry, API round or remove red flag?
You are dissatisfied that DeSantis has not removed the voting machines in Florida.
Charlie Crist wants to move Florida to an all mail vote state with drop boxes.
Vax mandates, DeSantis opposes them. The reason the cruise lines operating out of Florida continued to require them is because they took the state to court and won. Something about being private companies🤔
Charlie Crist wants to mandate vaccines for everyone including infants. He also wants to mandate masks and he’s pro lockdown
You are displeased with Desantis’ donations and the fact that he is not independently wealthy. Well butter my buns and call me Susie, a politician that has deep pocketed donors…..🙄
Charlie Crist is not independently wealthy take a look back at how he can and has been bought. Who knows what unsavory characters are financing him, probably Soros for one, but alrighty then.
Sex Ed, You are dissatisfied with the Florida laws. I actually have personal experience with sex Ed curriculum. There is a sharp divide at 4th grade and I too take issue with it. Back in the day when I was involved I personally felt 7th grade was a better fit.
After that time I was involved with alternative schools where discipline problems are sent. I personally witnessed a 4th grader giving sexual favors to older students. Tragic, but true, some kids grow up quicker than others. There are also older students that have failed. I don’t necessarily agree with keying everything to the lowest common denominator, but that K-3, 4th grade and above sex education divide has been present in Florida since at least the mid 1990’s when I was dealing with it. It is rooted in experience and the outcome of several lawsuits
That was really long, trust me it could be longer with citations, but I felt it important for you to understand Ron DeSantis did not arbitrarily pick the K-3, 4th grade and up divide.
Charlie Crist wants no holds barred sex Ed and wants young children to be given puberty blockers and genital mutilation surgery.
TPP, for the umpteenth time TPP never was.
He voted for TPP to happen. The fact that it didn’t pass is completely irrelevant.
He voted for fast track authorization, 5 Republicans voted no, 5. It was basically a party line vote.
He introduced the Faithful Execution of Laws Act in 2013 when he first got to Congress. The bill would have required DOJ to report to Congress any agency that was not enforcing laws or regulations. He signed a pledge not to vote for climate change items if they raised taxes on anyone. He was a founding member of the Freedom Caucus and in 2017 he tried to add an amendment to defund the Mueller investigation.
Nobody talks about other things he did, only that one vote for fast track authorization. They never mention that almost all the R’s voted for it either, including some that are held in high esteem and considered MAGA faithful.
Introduced legislation that had NO chance to become law.
Typical career politician performative grandtanding.
Please clap.
As Sundance noted, Ron == Cruz.
Employers mandated the death jab far and wide in FL and he never said a peep because ‘muh corporations’ and he doesn’t actually give a crap about the workers.
Sex ed doesn’t belong in schools at all and a brave and decent person would say that. Standing up and saying Kindergartners shouldn’t watch trannies pole dance is not brave.
He did stand up against Vax mandates and was sued for it.
Florida used to teach abstinence only and that was limited to high school. Guess what? They got sued. The committee I was on regarding sex Ed was to settle a lawsuit with PP. So sure he could take that stance, but the courts would let him know real quick that issue has been decided.
In FACT, “the question at hand” is NOT about Ron versus Crist for governor. (As Sundance made clear repeatedly in the article that’s the topic of this conversation).
In FACT, the topic is Ron running against President Trump in the 2024 Republican presidential primaries.
Ron versus Crist =/= “the question at hand”.
Rons merits as a governor =/= ” the question at hand”.
“kapish”? If not, read or reread Sundances article so kapishing can commence.
“does a little to look good” and then has a press conference
Yep. His stance on the 2nd Amendment issues is the real tell. He’s clearly not one of the people – he’s a social climbing politician who probably was proud to go to Harvard and thinks like Harvard grads about icky issues like guns.
“The best governor in the country” == Establishment media Ron hype.
Has Ron been a better governor than the alternative candidate who lost by 30,000 votes out of 8 million cast? Definitely.
Thank God for President Trump and his MAGA supporters in Florida.
Only option? Not at all.
DeSantis is owned and now paid for by all of the big RNC donors. Mitch backs him, Ronna backs him, Ron has not come out in full support of a GOP RINO who says he will never back a MAGA candidate.
Let that sink in: Ron endorsed a Senate candidate who is a GOP RINO and has said he will never back a MAGA Republican. What does that tell you about Ron?
Her name is Kari Lake. But we don’t need to worry about Kari or Ron; they have states to run cuz Trump has this under control.
Nope. Lake is too slick, an Obamabot, and is telling MAGA everything it wants to hear, neatly packaged in an oh, so camera-ready talking head.
Hard pass until she proves herself.
I think I saw you at the debate last night?! You were among the screaming, rude, pink shirted teacher Union Crist crowd.
I’d refer you to a doctor- but there’s no cure.
“……only option to Trump should he not run again………”
Wrong. Dead wrong.
DeSantis will do what his wall street backers tell him to do.
Just look back a few days ago and see that he cut and ran from supporting Lee Zeldin in N.Y. hours after meeting with the scum who gave him so much money.
Lots of money in DeSantis eyes but hardly anything to those politician bribing criminals.
Refresh your memory as to the crap the uniparty pulled by rigging the 2016 election for RINO Globalist Jeb.
Until Trump came down the escalator it was assured that ,one way or another ,Hillary or one of the other sixteen other ,since proven to be color revolution traitors ,would have been President and our country would have been lost forever.
Thank God for Trump, who realized what the plan was ,stepped in and ran as an outsider to save the country he obviously loves and Sundance , who on an almost daily Basis , exposed the deceptions behind the convoluted primary clown show for all to see.
DeSantis campaigned for your precious Kari Lake. Does that taint her in your star-crossed eyes?
“precious”?
“Precious”.
Word choices can be soooo revealing.
These word choices suggest the need for a spiritual cardio exam and inspire bemusement and prayers
Equivocation will get you nowhere with me.
The point is that He was not told to abandon Lake.
The money changers from Manhattan know where the influence is needed.
Where a Democrat rubber stamp equates to I’ll gotten gains.
That is the difference.
Your point is nothing than an ill conceived case of comparing apples to oranges.
He campaigned with her because AZ is a swing state and he wanted her crowds.
That Zeldin abandonment was as cowardly a move as I have ever seen.
The problem with RDS is he is now OWNED by the chamber of commerce crowd . Bought and paid for is not exactly where we want our leader to hail from.
Mr. TPP will not/can not win the White House. The Democrats won’t even have to cheat. PA, MI, WI will not vote for an anti-worker GOPe Chamber guy.
Then there’s the fact that unless he runs against a woman he will be much shorter than his opponent – and with the exception of 2004, the short dude always loses to the taller candidate.
Rons “the only option to Trump should he not run again”.
Fortunately, this isn’t true. However, it IS a narrative that’s profoundly dangerous to President Trump as well as young Ron.
In fact we have more than one MAGA 2024 choice:
Trump or Trump.
Father or son; Eric or Ron.
Four more years or eight.
What’s worse than his non-answer/ lack of truth in answering the question- is that he feared a loss of voters over giving a truthful answer. Focusing and doing well on the job at hand- with future aspirations- shouldn’t be a bad thing. Unless the future aspirations requires him to take a knee— ala McCain/Romney/ Bush senior 2nd term.
DeSantis will be reelected as Governor. The path that seems to be lining up beyond that is a tragedy. He did have real potential— before rubbing elbows with RINOS. In typical politician style -he underestimates the intelligence of his potential voters, overestimates that of RINOS, lapdog media, and weaponized Big Tech, and indecent to President Trump’s America First MAGA agenda.
RDS’s non-answer betrayed his FIRST allegiance to his RINO GOPe handlers. He betrayed his FL voters by clearly showing who he works for … who he is obligated to. Hint: It’s NOT Floridians.
Well, he can “NOT” work for me any day!
What state do you live in? Do you like your governor? I guess you love all of President Trump’s endorsements, good thing.
Its not whether we like his endorsements or not. President Trump needs a group
he can work with, not a bunch of traitorous morons who back stab and impede the
MAGA agenda of making federal government smaller and less intrusive in our lives.
Then there is all the corruption that needs to be dealt with.
If President Trump thinks he can work with a candidate, either because they themselves
are MAGA, can be arm twisted to do the right thing or are the lessor of two evils, then
that is our direction if we are smart enough to see the long game.
Trying to pin down your point. Only thing I can conclude- Pres Trump has a right to attempt to “work” with others in the political arena.
All other elected officials – tough shit.
So DeSantis is now the big government candidate?
Ask paul ryan.
Thanks for asking a question.
Answer: Yes.
President Trump needs to work with others in the country and the world.
Florida’s governor Ron needs to work with the people in Florida and President Trump.
“…he feared a loss of voters over giving a truthful answer.”
Our founders pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor.
I pray our current “leaders” realize that President Trump is in the league of our founding fathers, and follow his lead.
Sundance clearly writes “Every Floridian should vote for Ron DeSantis” a few times within his article- and they should!!!
The concern is the RINOs coming for 2024 Presidency on the heels of allowing the stolen 2020 election.
The RINOs splitter strategy is ALWAYS a concern. Who can forget the SEVENTEEN contenders to the Republican nomination in 2016?
Sundance correctly states that Governor Ron DeSantis commits political suicide should he allow the GOPe to USE him as a wedge against President Trump. As far as 2024 is concerned, there is ONLY TRUMP and MAGA.
No one else comes close, because nobody else can take the slings and arrows that are sure to rain down on one who genuinely attempts to buck the system. ONLY Donald John Trump has the courage, the vision and the billions to fight that machine.
I completely concur that IF DeSantis allows his donors or his ego to push him into the 2024 primary against Trump, he will most likely end his political career. He won’t win against Trump and he’ll alienate MAGA voters in the process. Trump will brand him too.
We’ll all have to wait and see what he decides, but either way he ends up serving his four year term in Florida. It’s just whether he’ll have a couple of months distraction or not and whether he’ll have a political future once his term is done.
Wait and see. There’s wisdom in that.
“Wait and see”.
Or seek to prevent a tragedy that you can see is developing.
I prefer prevention.
I suspect this is also true because we MAGA voters are running out of patience with rinos.
I’ll say it once again that Sundance is early, but correct on the summation of DeSantis being owned by Deep State money and handlers. The results will put Ron under a microscope with all his DS move being noticed and exposed frequently. Most importantly, there are likely branches of the military (non-Biden military) watching his every move now. My guess is that they already don’t like what they’ve seen.
Just a theory, but keep aware with an open mind, and see the future as it unfolds.
Why do the debate moderators allow Crist to bring his own personal cheering section who loudly cheered everything he said as though it was the cure for all cancers? Constantly … while DS supporters sat quietly after he spoke? Hint: that kind of sophomoric cheering won’t work. It’s embarrassingly transparent what they’re trying to do … to make Crist and his comments … “popular”. They’re not.
Subterfuge.
IF they allowed supporters of each sidein and toldvthemvthe rules, we tend to revere contract and Dems revere power.
There’s no business like show business. It’s all optics and no substance.
I don’t expect entrenched swamp critters to honor fair elections and turn over the keys to the kingdom. We are well beyond that point.
Ron does the same thing at his Tallahassee press conferences.
Rons scripted press conference “zingers” with an audience applause track, are then turned into video clips that are hyped on CONservative Inc. Establishment Media sites.
Headings are iterations of:
OMG DE Santis sAvAgEs the press, again!!!
OMG Heavy D. Best GuV, ever!!!!!
Just today I read on Wayne Dupree’s website that the pathetic, spineless RINO Joe O’Dea running to unseat incumbent senator Michael Bennet (CO/Democrat) got Ron DeSantis to do a robocall on his behalf. The worthless state GOP did not support the true conservative candidate in the GOP primary, the one that deserved to be the Republican candidate. I have concerns about DeSantis doing this robocall at all.
If I were a betting person, I’d lay down money that DeSantis recorded the robo-call because his donors or the RNC asked him too. I don’t think he really has a dog in the CO senate fight.
Trump has supported rinos too when asked by McConnell or McCarthy or Rona McDaniel.
O’Dea sounds like another Romney or Murkowski, exactly the kind of senator McConnell would love to welcome to the fold. Certainly not my cup of tea, but marginally better than a democrat.
If the MAGA candidate was blocked by the CO GOP that’s not DeSantis’ fault. It’s like Susan Collins of Maine, barf. She’s marginally better than a D. You can count on her for some votes, important votes even, but she’s also a turncoat and a PIA.
The real battle for a quality candidate in CO was during the primary. The primary is over, we have the candidates we have. At this point you support them or you support the democrat.
Colorado was birthplace of computer voting in US, Diebold. CO R’s + D’s joined at hip. Despite cautions about Chavez in Venezuela. I know. I sat in the legislative hearings on them. Only two little old ladies and one old man spoke for election integrity, against computer voting. Against 30+ big dollar lobbyists and special interests.
Diebold voting now is Dominion. Based in Colorado. With CO GOP still in lockstep with D’s. Because they are D’s who wear R clothing. I know. I know the political machine there. They don’t mind being “out” party. And govern like D’s when in power. They toss more bones to corporate crowd, only difference.
CO GOP conspires against its own voters. To lock out Tea Party/MAGA. With voting system that steals elections. Like from Tina Peters. And all MAGA candidates. Which is how O’Dea “won.” The rot in the CO GOP is utter and complete. And where the real battlefield is.
…..“If I were a betting person, I’d lay down money that DeSantis recorded the robo-call because his donors or the RNC asked him too. I don’t think he really has a dog in the CO senate fight.”
In your defense of DeSantis (trying to minimize his actions), you just accidentally hit the nail on the head of the problem with him. He is owned and will do what he is told.
If he became President, he would be another puppet and the administrative state would be running the country, like in most recent cases, except for Trump.
Except it wasn’t a defense of DeSantis it was just me sizing up what I think happened.
I wasn’t trying to minimize anything. Of course someone, one of his handlers asked him to do the robo-call. Who knows what kind of back scratching was involved, it’s politics.
Trump endorsed and did robo-calls for objectionable people too. It’s politics.
The point I was trying to make was this.
The time for picking the candidates in whatever race has passed. The choice is the republican or the democrat. That’s it, that’s all.
I’d rather deal with a rino that votes with the dems on occasion but gives us a majority than help the dems gain the majority. The dems work in lockstep, they don’t do crossover voting.
Guessing with out facts =/= thinking.
In FACT, Ron endorsed and campaigned for CO Senate candidate O’ Dea AFTER President Trump issued a rare public statement saying MAGA supporters were “too smart to vote for O’Dea”.
Why did President Trump make this unusual move?
Because O’Dea chose to go on on an anti Trump rant while being interviewed on CNN. Without being asked, O’Dea was pledging to campaign against Trump. He was channeling Cheney.
Did Governor Ron also endorse or campaign for the Republican candidate for COs Governor? Nope.
Btw, unless the Swamp rigs the election for O’Dea, he had NO chance to win even if Trump had endorsed him and campaigned for him.
Ron dropped the ball when he didn’t call Crist out on doing nothing on the Opioid Crisis for 3 years while he was in Office. I say 3 years because the last one was spent sniffing maobama’s bicycle seat trying to get a position in the administration.. I couldn’t stand to watch that mess last night.
RDS has dropped the ball for 4 years by not doing so much more on election integrity reform after his narrow victory in 2018 or the provable fraud in 2020 initiating a statewide audit of the election……RDS dropped the ball since Jan 2021 when all he has done about the open border of Slo Joe is Talk Talk Talk until ONE incident of 2 planeloads to Martha’s Vineyard from TEXAS and since then nothing…….admirable response to IAN but on two of his BIGGER issues besides that relatively NOTHING
Well my goodness, please do tell what outsized role the Governor of the state of Florida has over national border policy.
Another teensy tiny point. There is a document called the constitution. Article 1, Section 4, Clause 1, tasks state legislatures with elections.
There was a lot of controversy in 2020 over Governors, secretaries of state, and courts deciding how elections were run rather than state legislatures as laid out in the constitution.
Please point to the quote where he hastens the legislature to investigate the election or the machines or remove them pending investigation. Or perhaps where he chastises them for not doing so?
He has made numerous statements about how he has urged the legislature to do this or worked with them to do that…
I have been screaming for Governor DeSantis to put hard dope/human trafficking checkpoints at every road entrance into the State. Many backroads in North Florida already have Agricultural Inspection Stations that all vehicles must stop at. Something has to be done about the kilo weights of Texan fentanyl pouring into here. I say “Texan” fentanyl because that was the last known point of origin. If Abbott actually did his job and searched every damn tractor trailer, passenger car, truck and train car coming in, Florida wouldn’t be 900 overdoses behind California for FY 2021- 2022.
yes, he’s done a great job as Gov but it’s equally true that he’s an opportunist like every sleazy politician has always been. Not the only tell tale sign he had ambitions past Florida. He touts all the Trump policies but never mentions Trump. Kind of odd,no? He doesn’t have to do a whole litany but not to mention Trump even once? A stretch. He’s courting the Trump base without a mention of Trump for a reason. Rumor has it Trump is considering MTG as his VP and the Trump plane is now in shape for campaign mode. As soon as the mid terms are over he’ll announce. He knows the importance of a Red Wave, if not a tsunami and that comes first. He came the closest to an a formal announcement in Robstown Texas as i’ve heard yet. i hope the Governor isn’t so driven that he announces and splits the Rep party at the worst possible time.Seems he’s totally forgotten the endorsement Trump gave him back when. So many backstabbers in this party. Just when you find someone you think is actually loyal to Trump you find out how much on the other side they are. Only a few to trust; MTG, Jim Jordan, Devin Nunes.
Welcome to the world of politics. Trump might be honest but it’s his naivety in a Machiavellian political structure that did him/us in.
When 5 states shut voting down within minutes of one another and those state legislatures condone then certify their vote, that’s evidence of a coordinated steal.
Caesar had his Brutus, Trump had Washington DC.
…and yet there are still people that think this past election was valid!
Less and less every day.
And yet, he and his beautiful wife and family are willing to walk back into the lions den.
Amazing.
Trumps “naivete in a Machiavellian political structure”.
Those who haven’t bothered to research to discover the Real Trump believe the most astonishingly unreal things about him.
I wonder at times whether people who believe Trump was naive are projecting their naivite onto him. They didn’t know so they assume that he didn’t know?
Unless we can read minds there is no way to know for certain if an answer is a “non-truthful answer.” It may in time be verified by a persons actions but it is premature and irresponsible to make such a claim before then. DeSantis is not perfect nor is any person but on overall performance in contrast to his predecessors he has done very well. As there some things he does or fails to do that are puzzling? Certainly. The honest way to address these is to ask him to his face before speculating like the mainstream media and political pundits.
It reminded me of the question K. Lake got about whether or not she would “accept the results of the election, whether she wins or loses”. She gave a great answer but the media is still spinning it as her refusing to accept the results of the election.
I remember President Trump’s answer – “we’ll see what happens”. And that was not a canned response. That was his honest answer.
I don’t need to read minds. I know how he has answered a similar question previously. He specifically said he was running for Governor of the State of Florida when asked if he would be running for President in 2024.
Last night it was worded quite differently and he majorly choked, because there was no way to get around it without lying, and he knew it. That tells me all I need to know, along with his new handlers and his recent past actions.
Get your head out of your…
All his charm, authenticity, strength, bravery, nobility is gone. It’s as if he has lost himself. He’s a shell of his former self. Very, very sad.
He traded his birthright for a mess of postage. Tragic.
The look on DeSantis face was priceless. He would do well to skip 2024. He obviously needs more seasoning
I don’t want him ever…he is bought and paid for GOPe. Nothing more than a Pence or a Bush.
might be better than Pence who was a traitor from the beginning……W was/is clueless and was likely handled nearly as much as Slo Joe…!Jeb is just a spoiled wealthy entitled brat now throwing a temper tantrum because he was found out
As I have posted here many times, the future presidential candidates are going to have to take money from someone we don’t like, there are no more golden escalator entrances.
There won’t be genuine “future presidential candidates” unless President Trump, with our help, succeeds.
Its now or never. No do overs.
As much as people who support Trump would love him to run in 2024, I believe that to focus on this is a distraction from addressing many concerns between now and then. It is like saying “we can fix nothing now but wait till Nov 2024.” That is foolish. How about putting pressure on Republican politicians to do their job and especially to get their leaders, McConnell and McCarthy, to take a clear and public stance on matters that concern the voting public?
Why are they not using the power of the purse and demanding a timely balanced budget?
Why not push to have the budget divided into ten monthy sections to be more easily read and approved each month?
Why not push for reduced government spending and ruthless elimination of wasteful spending?
Forgive me but it sounds like you’ve been off planet for the past few decades. Republicans like McConnell and McCarthy are going to fix things? No, those are uniparty leaders and they are going to try and wreck us as much as they can while enriching themselves just as they always have. McConnell is our enemy not a revered leader.
But call for honesty has a point. We do need to hold them accountable. We need to figure out the best way to do that, to hold their feet to the fire.
Think back to the antics of the squad staging sit ins in Pelosi’s outer office. We all snickered, but doggone if they haven’t been effective. They’ve been largely responsible for pulling the Democrat party leftward.
The squad had the MSM on their side, which we certainly won’t have but how about alternate media? The squad had a Twitter army behind them, probably a lot of bots. We can back up a MAGA squad with a GETTR and Truth army, Twitter too.
Maybe copying the left isn’t the best choice, maybe we come up with a different idea, but doing something is better than throwing our hands up in the air and giving up. McConnell and McCarthy and all of Congress represent us and we need to figure out how to remind them of that.
Did their antics really pull the party left or was that just for show to fool the rubes that the party isn’t inherently extreme?
The Democrats are Communists and Nancy Pelosi yields tremendous power. She could squash them like bugs if she wanted to.
Look at what the Uniparty Republicans do to nonconformist reps:
take away committee assignments
bash them in the media nonstop
cut all campaign funds
run opponents against then
finance smear campaigns against them
redistrict them out of office
and the cherry on top (if all else fails)…promote their Democrat opponent.
We need 100 Lee Atwaters on board with MAGA.
Topic sliding. Why?
Here is the question for DeSantis and his handlers, Should DeSantis be the US President in 2028 or will he just be governor of Florida. If DeSantis runs in 2024 the latter will happen. If DeSantis runs only in 2028 the former will happen. Both can not happen.
Only if Dominion has a say
Someone here a while back suggested that a good role for DeSantis and his PAC war chest would be to lead the charge for states rights.
To rally other red states to join him and push back against the federal leviathan. Return us to the vision of our founders.
That’s an effort that will take time, but I thought that was quite a brilliant idea and given DeSantis’ legal background he’d be a really good fit. An effort like that would do more for this country than a failed Presidential run or even a successful one.
Should he choose a path like that he’d not only be helping the nation, but himself as well, building his own national political cred.
Exactly!…I keep wondering… are these people completely oblivious to the deep, deep trouble we are in??
How can they not speak up about the J6 prisoners? How can DeSantis never bring this up? Or the MAL raid??
RNC & DNC are private corporations. THEY decide what our choices are not US.
Money talks and fills the trough…hope walks and yes Rosie O’Donnell is fat.
I think if PDJT runs (likely at this point) in 2024 and the RNC in some way attempts to keep him off the ballot it will collapse as any meaningful entity
“DeceptiRon”, really?
Shoot first ask questions later and totally disregard what he’s done in Florida. Sounds like a “Karen” move to me.
He’s walking the thin line after having watched Trump savaged by the savages.
There is”ZERO” governors who have come close to accomplishing (in word and deed) what DeSantis has done
We’ll see which way he tips. (I’ll hold my fire until then)
God help him if he challenges Trump.
Have a look at the money coming into campaigns of the politicians, while being honest with yourself, and you will understand why a man would dare walk a thin line as you say.
“Don’t give me any of that do goody . . .”
No offense but how do you know Zero governors have come close to accomplishing what RDS have? No Governor has the national spotlight like RDS. His press conferences conveniently give him the opportunity to spar with the press and present himself as MAGA. You have to wonder why the enemedia allows it. Unless they are providing him high visibility for a reason.
Oh my goodness, the MSM sees DeSantis as a threat. My progressive CA sister is an avid CNN and MSNBC viewer, her DeSantis Derangement Syndrome rivals her Trump Derangement Syndrome.
True story, early on in the pandemic my CA sister was complimentary of DeSantis. This was in the first few weeks before the national spotlight. She said things like, “I like that young Governor of yours. He seems logical, he’s making protecting seniors his top priority”. She said other complimentary things, basing her opinion on our local news coverage she read from afar and what we said.
Then CNN decided they needed to destroy DeSantis. Next thing you know my CA sister hates our Governor. Lobs pejoratives at him constantly. He went from hero to zero in a flash.
I do not think the MSM has given him visibility for his benefit at all.
Gov Parsons of Missouri has quietly done a better job the last two years than DeSantis.
And yet most people probably have no idea who he is–and thats the point. The National media has given RDS the spotlight. have to wonder why.
Noem NEVER shut down her state, implemented Constitutional Carry as soon as elected, continued the Sturgis Rally and more. DeSantis just copied what other Govs did.
She failed to keep trannies out of sports, though. Her excuse was lame AF.
Sleight-of-hand. Local government did that. Without pushback from Noem. Something DeSantis had to do, nullify local tyrants. Noem got to play good cop while locals played bad cop. All an act. At least RDS stopped the local tyrants. Albeit about six months too late. Living in blue parts of FL first six months was little different than living in NY or CA. ND suffered longer locally under Noem.
She’s awful but you’re right on paper she looks better. Kemp opened up GA and DeSantis said it was dangerous. Ron follows the polls.
My deepstate, blue state was to a large extent just as open as FL.
And there were states like WY, SD, KS that were always more open than FL. DeSantis has good PR. It also helps that so many DC,NYC movers and shakers were in FL because those two areas were on crazy lockdowns.
Not being aware of what other states/governors are doing =/= they’re not doing anything.
In fact they’ve been doing alot of SUBSTANTIVE as opposed to performative things.
Ron has been intentionally hyped by CONservative Media while everyone else has been intentionally ignored.
Consequently, a false reality has been created that many psywar naives seem to believe is real.
I gotta give Crist credit, he’s got one more marble upstairs than the current occupant of the WH. As foe DeSantis I will be casting my vote for him as our governor. Should he run for President in 2024 against DJT he will not get my vote. Simple as that.
I like DeSantis. No issues with him at all. However he is still a politician at heart. Trump is not. Trump is a bull in a China Shop. I want the Bull in the China Shop – I want him to get into the China Shop and BREAK EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING…
Politicians will never commit firmly — no escape clauses nor reinterpretations possible — to not running for a higher office. They’re politicians because they prize power: the more, the better. It was once said that every Representative sees himself as a future Senator, and every Senator sees himself as a future President. None of them ever say to themselves, while daydreaming, “One day, I’m going to be a lobbyist!“
I can’t remember if anyone in Illinois asked Barry O’bama if he would commit to serving his full 4-year term in the Senate.
6-year
they pointed out during his campaign he was NOT NBC and his campaign manager remarked that was not required for a US Senate seat
Ronnie D reminded me of the clips of valley girl Katie Hobbs when he snubbed the question.
I won’t answer your questions, because they
mightwill make me look bad. So there.Very smart of Charlie to put that on the table for everyone to see. Bad on the “moderator” for not asking.
Smart Charlie!! Perfect timing for a new campaign slogan.
Smart Charlie—2 words that should never be used to describe Obama hugging turncoat charlie
I will not be voting for DeSantis in the state election; or any Republicans who back him.
Policy and outcomes have to be consistent across the board to earn my vote. The time for making slippery slope exceptions is over.
Lol- let me know what candidate has “consistent policy and actions across the board”. The perfect candidate? Or are you just pontificating and defending your vote (for who?).
Some of the comments here are not from conservatives. God help us if you are truly on the side of conservative policies.
Principle versus outcomes based decision-making. May be practical…but leads down an entirely different path from a consistency and coherence pov. Get it?
Your abilities wrt deciphering messaging I’ll leave to others to decide.
It’s your uninformed, fractured view of reality that is worrisome. Using catchall terms as excuses for caviling anyone who isn’t down with the entire gameplan is why you will ultimately fail. It’s just a different version of “racist” catcalls.
You really don’t get what’s going on globally today – do you? It’s actually quite complex and demands more than continued slandering and virtue checks.
Pretty cool that the 28th Bomber Wing repositioned B-1s to Guam yesterday after a long, long absence! Eh? Ever been to Guam? Nice beaches. Good bombing practice to be had on the Saipan range.
To **** with Conservatism and all the other ill defined shibboleths small minds bandy about. What chess moves do you think are actually being deployed right now in the global financial/trading system – and where do you think it is all headed? You know that heat chart Sundance deploys to illustrate global alignment with Ukrainian sanctions/UN votes? The one where only the US, EU, Australia and (in some versions) Japan are colored yellow? It’s really a great heuristic device. What else do you think is going on with all those grey countries? Even the yellow ones? For example, are you interested in why the Australian company Kore recently concluded a rather large potash contract with China? Where do you think our overwhelmingly leveraged debt excess (some of which, $7.3 trillion in the Federal fiscal segment to be exact, from 2017-2020 accrued during PDJT’s watch) is ultimately headed? Where do we/the West sit today having depleted weapons inventories, completely financialized all asset classes with valueless fiat currency, exported industry overseas in favor of gov’t dependent service segments, increased/embedded inflation rates precipitating interest rate increases that in turn further escalate dollar levels foreign countries cannot sustain debt payments on (shhhh…..BRICS+ is waiting to take advantage of this but don’t tell anyone), declining retention rates for key military segments (e.g., frontline, combat experienced fighter pilots), Deep State/Uniparty convergence on surveillance/digital currency and identity management systems/social scorecards implementation……I could go on with dozens more deteriorating indicators.
And you want to focus on language? You want to persist this attack mindset when the greatest REAL imperative of the MAGA “movement” should be bridge building beyond the core to realize overwhelming political presence and power? Hmmmm….who else practices the same language games?
Let’s skip all the tactical clutter that dominates conversation. Go beyond the WEF rhetoric and describe what you really think is happening from a global perspective in a longer-term, macro vantage. Understanding current state and the forces in play over the next decade is a necessary precondition to developing strategy, and, oh by the way, intelligent voting.
I don’t give a rat’s patout about Biden, DeSantis, PDJT or any of the other items on the menu. Get with it – it’s not a binary problem space. I care about the best analysis of what is really unfolding and who, anyone really, has the best understanding, strategy, leadership skills, policy agenda, support structure, stature, character…..to change the course of history (to use my own hyperbole). I want to see all of this explained in detail. The gathering storm is threatening beyond belief. No one, yet, has clearly, coherently laid it all out and presented their compass (integrated gameplan and changes that will need to be effected) to navigate these exceedingly dangerous waters.
Spare me the silly flanking moves. Get to the core of what is unfolding and your prescriptive recommendations so decision-making can proceed apace. At that point we have something to debate and you can lob as many personal hand-grenades as you like should we fundamentally disagree.
I have no idea what you just wrote.
That’s the problem with liberal twisted thinking. It makes no damn sense.
No. It reflects the poverty of your education as well as your situational awareness.
Your skills with inference are also severely challenged. Voted Republican my entire life; voted for PDJT twice.
No sense wasting time here. I don’t have time to tread water.
Live a good life in your community.
Awh, Mr. Jeffreys- you are an intellectual lightweight. And you are a liberal progressive wordy SOB.
And a prick too. Go get your booster and sneer at the common folk.
I can smell your arrogance.
The big picture…I like it! Let’s start with that cell phone and the “cloud” as dangerous examples of control. We’ll use inductive reasoning as a simple, yet complex method of exploration.
We must, however, watch out for arrogance, it poisons every discussion.
As President Trumps first rally ending song reminded people, “you don’t always get what you want”.
We are obviously in a real win or perish war with the NWO death cult psychopaths. As President Trump has said many times, he will identify problems but will NOT spell out his specific plans to solve those problems.
Obviously, no real general could or would satisfy the curiosity of armchairs demanding to know.
Fwiw from a geo political, 40,000 foot view, Team Trumps agenda appears to be going gobsmackingly well.
Why would they be or should they be? Romney and Bush were ‘conservatives.’ NeverTrump hacks like Shapiro, Beck, NRO, were/are conservatives.
MAGA is MAGA not ‘conservative.’ Whatever that is?
Lulu- please ask Sundance what conservative means.
Sounds like his website name is way past being cool and hip.
“Cool or hip”.
Flair for reacting by selecting an emotional word frame defensive offense?
Most political self labels are more divisive and distracting than helpfully descriptive, especially during our country current real Lord of the Rings survival war.
#GandalfTrump
President Trump, who copyrighted MAGA in 2012 to describe his vision/plan to Save then Restore America, has started to say that he doesn’t view himself as a conservative. Instead he views himself as a common sense American who loves our country and our American family; even the haters.
I’m with him.
That’s fine. Let the perfect be the enemy of the good. You do you, boo. I just got Mom registered to vote again after a 30 year hiatus. She’ll vote for Ron in your place. You virtue signaling means you lose.
I love cliches! Right up to the moment one examines the exceptions clauses.
Mr. Jeffries… Have you taken a good look at the electorate lately? How stupid they are? How self-centered? How utterly uninterested they are in anything of import, or even graced with the capacity to understand anything beyond his/her paycheck?
We can’t keep the Republic with what we have now. We can do what we can, and must, but we have raised up several generations of illiterate, immature, narcissistic children.
So Charlie Crist is the better choice? SMH🙄
Crist doesn’t know what he stands for or even what party he’s in. Oh but sure that’s a better choice because muh principles
Consistent Charlie! His policies and actions are so consistent. Don’t mind his several party affiliations and policy changes regarding just about everything.
Who was it who said “I abhor the dull routine of existence”? Hint…..he had cocaine issues.
Well, I hate the dull routine of mixing principle (the hook) with endless exceptions (the excursions from the avowed goals). The exceptions may strike one as “practical”, but they undercut principle to the point that the purveyors are no longer trustworthy.
What is one left with? Explicate the principles more carefully, or slowly let blood with the “practical” exceptions.
You don’t get it either? Here’s what’s coming out from atop the soapbox: the path to success is bottom-up; the 10th amendment is the key to turning the tide of events. But, vote for someone in FL who is not in line with top-level objectives and principles; someone who is really aligned with Uniparty principles and objectives. The messaging, while appearing to issue from a practical perspective, is conflicted. In the end, it strikes one as more of the same ole business as usual.
Please don’t waste my time with Governors who operate locally, not nationally counters. That claim will have to be reconciled with the many Governors who challenged key aspects of Obamacare and who, however meekly, are challenging sanctuary states and CDC Covid policies.
I don’t know where you live, but I live in Florida and I have a choice between voting for Ron DeSantis or Charlie Crist.
I will vote for DeSantis, not because he is perfect but because in my opinion he is the better choice. As a life long Floridian this is an easy choice I have actually lived under both men as Governor.
I agree with you the 10th amendment is the answer. I posted about just that up thread.
However, at this moment in time I have a choice as to which candidate I will cast my vote for. That is reality, the here and now.
Secular abstract sequentials, especially in survival situations, find such wordy ways to self soothe.
The words after “so” are typically a hallucination/strawman rather than a dispassionate response to what was actually said.
XX ………… no one likes a XX.
Hell with your XX. We don’t need Crist again in Florida. We won’t survive.
Oh, and who is the XX for the J6 political prisoners? Who did not pardon them and left them to ROT (and, in some cases DIE)? Hint, everybody here worships him.
Worships him?
I love President Trump and believe he is the best President the United States of America has ever had. I hold him in high regard, in the league of President Washington, President Lincoln, President Eisenhower and President Reagan.
But never, ever, in my wildest dreams do I worship any man. None. Not even the dearest gift given me by the Lord, my husband of nearly 50 years.
Notice the attempts to coopt the conversation.
Notice the emotion triggering bait offered to hook readers out of the conversation Sundance started.
Unless Ronnie D lied, in his short time on earth he has only worked for the gubt, w/NO private sector experience at all.
https://www.nga.org/governor/ron-desantis
I like my Presidents with private sector experience. Maybe they even built something with their own hands and money.
Absolutely. That to me is the most important qualification, REAL WORLD experience and knowing what it takes to create a successful private sector business and all of its intricacies. Career politicians are just that–trained to be government grifters for life. And Yale/Harvard Law grads are a definite disqualification IMO.
I like politicians who actually really served in the armed forces, not ones that got deferments for bone spurs.
Maybe you could try to draft Kerry to run again then. Or Dan Crenshaw. Or General Miley.
Wow you are really full-on anti-Trump now huh? DeSantis was an Ivy league lawyer that signed up to build his political resume – see John Kerry.
I have no problem with anyone who didn’t go kill Vietnamese people or get killed themselves for no reason other than our rulers wanted a war.
Lulu you have no idea DeSantis’ motivation for joining the military, none.
He joined in 2004 at the time the US was involved in two wars. He faced the prospect of being deployed to a war zone. He was deployed in 2007 with seal team one in Fallujah as an adviser. He was on the ground in Fallujah with them.
You can dismiss that if you want, but you have no idea why he joined the military.
Lawyer. Warzone. Lmao.
Notice the stale muh bOnE sPuRs bait offered.
Troll testing to see if anyone still bites on the bait and gets hooked/distracted enough to yank away from Sundances conversation?
Technically he worked in the private sector during college. I guess you view all candidates military service as being on the dole? Brilliant 👏
OMG “you have no idea” what Ron was thinking.
Also, about a totally anonymous stranger, “I guess you view all military service as being on the dole”.
Notice the mind reading hallucination that has no connection to what was said.
” Brilliant”. Self soothing projection?
Ron Johnson would be a superb president. He’s smart, has guts and is a fighter, successful businessman. He’s a sleeper, but the RINOs don’t like him.
My take was DeSantis was pausing as he was remaining silent as he thought that was the rules to not talk when it wasn’t his turn.
See below , didn’t answer when had a chance , didn’t answer based on a “technical ruling” -dopey moderator should have followed up – Chrissy Wallace would have .
I think he was waiting for the moderator to admonish Crist because the rules stated the candidates were not allowed to ask questions of each other.
He was Looking for an out , a technicality to save him , if you like that approach , your choice
My take also…Temp confusion.
Ron was waiting for mommy teacher moderator to make meany Crist follow the rules?
Not a flattering way to frame Rons choice.
LOL
The moderator was a D hack. They all are. Trump would blow through them when he needed to. DeSantis didn’t. Remember Romney letting Crowley slander him…playing by the rules, deferring to the hack D moderator. DeSantis will get creamed by national media moderators like that. Will be cucked just like Romney.
So, first the obligatory: I voted for PDJT in both elections as the best choice on the ballot relative to my beliefs and objectives.
It is beyond discussion that PDJT was unprepared for the jungle he entered and missed many key opportunities early on. This and other spaces constantly acknowledge that he did not fully fathom how the game was played and the capabilities of the forces opposing his Presidency. The constant response has been that there was a learning curve; that he was/is an outsider who had to learn the rules of the game.
It is this hypocrisy that cranks up my anger. The information sharing on DeSantis is useful and does assist shaping my ultimate position on voting. But this blowback on DeSantis’ readiness for national power is unadulterated junk food when viewing PDJT’s record through the same prism. MAGA is getting dangerously overcharged/primed for excessively emotional responses to the most tangential matters. The present threat posture and towering challenges require temperate, guarded positioning. It requires a room populated by adults. The process is one that requires constant building for the moment of full political shock and awe deployment; not knee jerk spitballing on every perceived threat.
While CTH, IMO, is a pretty focused, uniform space when it comes to core posters and followers (i.e., the thematics), with an impressively broad aperture shaping/guiding the view by Sundance, there is nevertheless a wider audience who visit this and other similar spaces. What happens should PDJT and/or some MAGA apostle prevail in 2024? The hard work really starts at that point. Hard work that persists through ensuing mid-terms and elections. Hard work undoing an entrenched bureaucracy, fighting a partisan media, restoring stare decisis, deconstructing destructive cultural memes, reconstructing a seriously damaged economy. The polity is highly divided. Maintaining momentum and effecting change when the opposing factions coalesce will likely require more than a stalwart MAGA base. The business of governing and establishing something beyond temporary (e.g., EO) change is going to require some coalition building at the edges. Ask yourself this, what is the primary energy behind the impending Red Wave? It’s not ideological. It’s anti-Biden and the effects of overreach by the Left.
It’s a small point. Don’t ante in your chips too early in the process. I travel in lotta circles. The bonds that bind are more tenuous than one might think. There are plenty folks outside the immediate MAGA community that will be needed to succeed. Play the game smart. Play the game, as someone puts it, to win.
I find little to disagree with. Comments about DeSantis from me, so far, are for him to up his game. And not get cutesy like swamp creatures get. I see warning signs as I saw warning signs about Trump. His ego being both blessing and curse. Warp Speed. To name one.
Personnel is key. As Trump found out…too late. If DeSantis is a little less my liking but magnitudes more effective because he puts the right personnel in place like Ladapo I won’t have as much heartburn over his being only 85% my friend than 90% my friend. But if he caves on my core liberty values to The Swamp then I’ll have little use for him. Cucks are worthless as leaders.
A Presidents personnel ie his administration is hired by the DC Senate; not by the President.
The President only hires his personal staff.
Does anyone imagine Ron, an inexperienced, 43 year old career politician will get the DC Senate to hire better people than President Trump will?
If so, watch the video clip of Ron in a moderated state governors debate that Sundance linked. Then think of Trump.
“Its beyond discussion”.
Lmao how adorbs.
Still noticing the wordy attempts to slide the conversation away from the one started by Sundance.
Self soothing by fapping with words?
I believe you are 100% right; full disclosure: I like DeSantis, I wish he was my Governor.
Very, very telling , had to watch it in full video part , right after Ron’s no tax on diapers , pet food etc spiel around at 16 minutes – Ron stared ( the eyes are window… ) so weirdly in double screen shot ( that will leave a mark ) and said “my time “ (hard to hear ) and moderator lady, with the fakest looking eyelashes that haven’t been seen since a Mike Meyers’ Austen Powers movie , jumps in and says rules say don’t ask each other questions… So Ron thinks technical ruling allows him to avoid , it won’t wash . An inauthentic politician – Marco school of robotics . A lot of canned “zingers”
One other point mentioned here , Ron DeS has a majority legisl. On his side , making passage of no tax stuff so much easier …Anyway , the consultants will be working on that , any interviewer will be asking him that critical question , if he has any Q&A before election – maybe he will go to ground so to speak …
Ron was itching to get that “retire an old donkey” line out…gee was he also subtly referencing DJT?
Canned line that he sort of had to read. I did not appreciate it. He reminds me of the cocky young pup thinking he is one of the big dogs.
I think it’s just one of those cringe lines GOP consultants think the yokels will love.
If you aren’t in Florida, you don’t get that the Legislature is RINO to the core. There are not many MAGA R’s in it. RDS has to play ball with what they will give him.
And your point ? they seem to have been working well enough together RINOs or not ? Certainly better than if Ron had to deal with a Dem controlled Legisl . ?Wouldn’t you agree to that , at least ? …. Perhaps ?
Yup!
Having watched the full video of the debate this section does DeSantis no favors. To Sundance’s point, he could have been more forceful and upfront with his answer. I also agree with those who think he was planning his “Old Goat” answer when the issue came up, and it didn’t happen as he expected. He should have been ready and made it clear that the moderator needed to give him official time to answer. That being said, I believe almost everyone who is following politics knows that DeSantis is running in 2024. DeSantis likely believes that his only real competition is Trump, and there is no way he’s going to make a potential adversary look good. Expecting him to be a big Trump supporter at this point would be unwise. Trump is not going to scare him off of running and we are likely going to see things get very tense between them if Trump goes all in. alwayscowgirl is correct that we need someone who will break everything. Right now I’m not fully confident that either one of them is up to it. These are scary times in our country. I continue to observe and remain suspicious of everything and everyone.
It’s President Trump and/or one of his sons or its over. Win or perish time. No do overs. No next times.
Its now or never.
As Ive been saying for years the GOP is very predictable if you put aside the confirmation bias. DeSantis left his congressional term voting lock step with the GOP for THIS upcoming presidential election.
(Most people can’t even state his congressional record, let alone know he was there)
Everything DeSantis has said, pretended to do and peacocked about was for this national campaign as a Trojan horse.
The Right’s propaganda machine isn’t hapless, it perpetuated this… It been obvious because they do ZERO follow up on his whimsical half baked BS.
How’s that abortion ban that isn’t? How’s that so called Disney RCID thing that isn’t? How’s that gay teacher situation that isn’t? How’s that state guard that isn’t?
Years of GOP and RNC smoke and mirrors with OBVIOUS planning propping this guy up… Yet no one will ask those questions because they don’t like the uncomfortable answers.
The party is 100 miles ahead of you!
Groomed, staged and presented with accolades. Reminds me of Obama.
Yeah. Wrong. Florida has an abortion ban that follows the one permitted by the SCOTUS–15 weeks. Stop gaslighting. A 15 week limit passes Constitutional muster.
Odd, many states now have complete bans.
Except it has failed Florida’s constitution and is going to fail in the courts because of that.
Again, things not reported or talked about.
Yup. The understanding of Roe v Wade overturning is suspect. Speaking somewhat crudely, the gist of it is (from a state pov) that the local dominant moral code will determine the boundaries. The only conclusion I can draw from the original post is that the poster champions a strict no-abortion policy.
To clarify, I champion constitutional arguments. The SCOTUS kicked it back the the states. In the case of Florida the statue passed on the 15 weeks violates the state constitution. Which is why it’s back in the courts here.
Otherwise I don’t really care, we can vote to amend or we can vote to keep… But the amendment is required.
More to my point, on DeSantis, it wasn’t a ban, but was sold as one. Also, it was a known constitutional failure.
Conservatives CAN NOT support those types of things without falling off a progressive cliff.
Dev… I agree with you 100%. I think he’s as manufactured as they come and he’s been a work in progress for a lot longer than we’ve been talking about it here.
They’re always moves ahead… they spend a lot of money on marketing folks and plotting strategy… and they’ve been trying to figure out how to sway MAGA away from Trump since 2016.
We largely agree on DeSantis but I do disagree with you on Trump.
I think Trump and DeSantis both serve the same purpose from different perspectives.
Trump only has one answer and it is a very very poor one… Elect more Republicans. The message is literally Qanon level silly.
MAGA is Tea Party 2.0, they don’t need any certain outcome from it… The government is going to keep expanding regardless… They just need YOU to believe in it.
I understand that that statement makes people flip desks but in all reality both DeSantis and Trump buy the GOP and RNC the same things… More faith in the current status quo.
Trump’s just a slightly bigger pain in the arse to them but he is 100% pro big government. He proved that day in and day out in his 4 years.
I think these things have MUCH less to do with who you vote for, or even what party you vote for. What they can’t have is more Americans like myself who are full engaged and paying attention but see our system as completely failed and unredeemable.
We’re the dangerous ones because we have zero faith in this government being corrected.
All of that said… I don’t think I’m going to change anyone’s mind on Trump, and I don’t think it matters… But in what election has voting ever not been presented as electing the “right kind” of Republican? And it all reality how is MAGA any different?
It isn’t… The Tea Party was way bigger and put 3X the number of people into Congress than MAGA even has running in elections right now. People just WANT TO BELIEVE, they want hope… and that’s the required trick no matter what party you cheer or jeer.
Trump was an economic nationalist that did not sell us out to the globalists. Trump also did not get us into wars. MAGA at it’s core is economic policy regarding trade and diplomacy. It is not ‘conservative’ and it is not status quo GOP where you support America last economic policy because ‘muh’ corporations.
MAGA has been hi-jacked by FOX news viewers who think that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and that Paul Ryan is a conservative. Your standard Haley, Graham, DeSantis voter.
Valid points, I think the voters you describe are in the correct context and as you say, there for both the right and confused reasons.
Bottom line, you can’t have economic prosperity without moral prosperity. An immoral people cannot sustain liberty.
” literally Qanon silly” helps explain this literally superficially “silly” assessment and the fantasy Trump that bears no connection to Real Trump.
Guessing/imagining without primary and secondary sourced research =/= thinking
Fortunately, you’re very mistaken and things seem to be, from a geopolitical 40,000 foot view, going quietly astonishingly well in terms of the broad plans/targets President Trump laid out.
Unfortunately for you, I doubt that anyone, including you, will change your mind.
As Peter Tikton said in a recent interview, “belief is the enemy of understanding”.
That’s it, that’s exactly what has been troubling me about DeSantis.
One of the comments mentioning DeSantis has an air of guilt about him. Not all the time that guilty look comes and goes but it’s there sure enough.
From the look on de Santis’ face, I would guess that the campaigns agreed between themselves and with the moderator that the question would not come up. No honor among thieves.
Understanding the shade has been pulled of DeSantis…WOWZA!!!
Bible verse:
“it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God”
Your comment reminds me of Crist talking about the Bible when referring to the ability of gender confused minors to have mutilation surgeries and take puberty blocker drugs.
I will just be happy when Bob Barker and Val Demmings are finally put to pasture. It’s simple minded I know, but I just want results now.
Most relevant thread comment. Thanks for the chuckle. It reminds me of my favorite and missed President Trump!
RD is a great governor. But he is IMHO young. He is good with speaking on the same level as the people, but he needs some polishing if he goes to the next level. At this point I would hope he is at least smart enough to see that writing on the wall.
That said, vote for him as governor of Florida regardless of how long he serves because crist will be like biden and ruin everything we enjoy here just because. And that my friends is the BIGGER picture.
IMHO RD isn’t going anywhere. A foolish move that would end any political future he may aspire to.
Let it go RD it’s not worth your life or your family’s what these rhinos have to offer. You have a great thing going here in Florida. Continue to build your accolades and sit this one out. Just learn from the master because it’s going to be EPIC.
It sucks to be in a quandary that is not of your own making, right Sundance? sentient people realize that Ron DeSantis is going to do what’s best for the country. The only thing that’s going to take him away from Florida is a presidential election or death. As tough as choice as it should he decide to run against Trump, I will still support TRUMP.
Clever? Cryptic, meaningless comment ? Seems so , but a $10 word ‘Sentient” ? …
Again the clue, “Trump” ,this “Trump” that …no PDJT etc
TRUMP. Yes. You call every other politician by their last name, why is TRUMP sacred? Answer me that? He’s not God Almighty. He made a sh!tton of mistakes, like not pardoning the J6 protestors and leaving loyal followers to ROT in a hellish dungeon under torture and without any Constitutional rights. So, yeah. TRUMP. Get used to it.
Oh my the Gator got rattled …Glad you clarified that “Trump’ “is not God Almighty “ , I needed that confirmed so now I’m all in for Top Gov . … thanks
Are you one of the NYC part timers here in Florida? Gonna flee your state only to vote the same dumb liberal policies?
you’re kidding right ? Nom de plume ?
And you inferred that “Trump “ was a POLITICIAN!! …like ‘ every other politician can be called by his last name’ , that hurt almost as much as realizing that he is not God Almighty -no sacrilege intended …
The child opines!
You hurt my feeeelings
I spent an entire week warning all the J6’ers about what was going to happen during that protest, to at least prepare to defend themselves by raising money for their defense, and every single one of them blocked me on Gab and accused me of not being a man, a coward, with Enrique Tarrio leading the charge. I’m willing to bet my bottom dollar you were one of them…..
But now I notice how all of you are coming to us to give you our money to save you, and Enrique Tarrio is nowhere to be found. Funny how that happened….
Now it’s my turn: Be a man, take responsibility for your own mistakes….
Everyone knew the risks – especially after harridan Nancy refused NG support. Lotta decisions made by a lotta people on Jan 6. Was the risk calculus correctly calculated in your opinion?
The reason why shepherds have a crook in their staff is because, whenever the leading sheep gets spooked by a predator, they will literally jump off a cliff’s edge just to get away from the threat, and all the rest of the sheep follow him to their death. The crook is there to keep the lead sheep from jumping off the cliff.
What were the risks of following a known FBI informant like Enrique Tarrio over the cliff’s edge?
Now the J6 sheep want to compound the problem by following DeSantis over the cliff’s edge, because DeSantis will NEVER pardon the J6ers, ever, but Trump will.
Sheep will be sheep.
If Ron was allowed to leave the debate stage right then, he would have.
Looked robotic. So strange. Voice shaking..again, palpable sweating. Unless you’re on drugs, the body language is soooo readable!
My body must be riddled with drugs!
Crist’s obnoxious pink clad protestors did their best to rattle DeSantis and prevent him from being heard.
Were you among them? Did you yell, “Liar!” during DeSantis closing argument?
Lol. Nope, wasn’t there. I want DeSantis to prevail in Florida. But he needs to speak honestly. If you speak honestly, the words just flow.
From Me.. at least, The Republicans need to get kicked in the crotch more than a few times to understand who they are supposed to work for… I plan of writing in Trump as LEAST this presidential election if he’s NOT already on the ticket.
In a debate with President Trump, Governor DeSantis would score points by bringing up that hellish covid task force and the bunch of kooks on it, who kept bashing him while he was coming around and doing the right thing by his state.
Last night one of our canvassers wearing my T-shirt and a Desantis hat was brutally attacked by 4 animals who told him Republicans weren’t allowed in their neighborhood in #Hialeah #Florida
He suffered internal bleeding, a broken jaw & will need facial reconstructive surgery
The Florida Governor said he would not run if Trump ran…looks like he changed his mind?
I don’t think he knows yet.
He hasn’t been told whether he knows yet…fixed it for ya.
Well, one thing is for certain for me….Sundance opened my eyes to this thing with DeSantis. It didn’t dawn on me that he went in hiding over Mar-A-Lago until I read what Sundance wrote. Then it all clicked…I will be very wary of DeSantis now….
yes, five days without a response is a long time
” That response is also reflective of why Donald Trump wins every debate. Trump wields truth as an effective weapon.”
Truthful people are refreshing, they don’t pretend, they don’t need to spend a lot of time trying to think of the “right” answer, like Ron tried to do during the debate. Silence in a debate is a killer. A pregnant pause given at the right time during a speech is good, but Desantis looked like a deer in the headlights after that question — not a good look at all.
Truthful people have no pretense, like President Trump, which is the engine that drives the refreshing aspect of their conversation. And I believe that most people can’t, or don’t like to, deal in truth. Dems prove that over and over again.
Sundance coined a term a few years back that really stuck with me concerning Donald Trump/President Trump, a term that perfectly describes his unpretending truthfulness, Sundance said President Trump “Owns the down side.”
Owns the down side.
He doesn’t shy away from questions, statements, or comments others throw at him. Instead he owns them and uses the fact that we all have down sides.
We can either slither away from who we are and what we said and by doing so look like we are a wishy-washy liar, or we can face that fact that sometimes we do say, ‘Rosie O’Donnell is a fat pig’ and go on from there.
I think Ron did fine with his answers. His debate preparation probably included not answering any direct questions from Crist. Don’t give the illusion that Charlie liar controls you or the debate questions.
He cannot answer such a simple question? He has no business running against Trump. Trump will destroy his career in short order. If DeSantis does this, he will not even be dog catcher material. The nation is going to hell in a hand basket, and this clown wants to play games by attempting to take down Trump? Ron is not very bright if he goes this route. This has establishment written all over it. Let him run, and let Trump expose them all.
I gotta wonder if he has any real choice – can those groomed and placed in these positions of power retain any self-determination?
IMHO, he sold his soul for a mess of pottage and that’s exactly what he looks like now. All traces of character have vanished from his face.
Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise.
How about – I would never betray President Trump
who was so instrumental with electing me governor in the first place.
Let’s revisit this issue when my second term as governor is over”.
THAT would have been an awesome answer.
I watched, and unfortunately, I thought Crist won hands down. DeSantis looked scared and nervous.
All this reading about Gov Ron is making me hungry for some Waffle House waffles.
It’s hard, EXTREMELY hard, to stick with what you are doing and doing well, and to ignore those around you who are flattering and tempting you to try to promote you into something else for their own purposes. You see it in companies all the time.
It’s the Peter Principle. A guy is doing a bang up job, so they promote him into a position that is beyond his talents and abilities, where he maybe muddles through but often fails miserably. It is extremely difficult to NOT take the promotion and stay where you are happy and successful. It takes a lot of self awareness and good manpower planning to avoid the trap.
Disney doesn’t have a military. Staring down Disney is NOT the same as staring down Putin or Xi or Kim. You can’t just legislate Putin out of Ukraine. Besides, they aren’t pushing DeSantis because they like DeSantis. He is just another “anybody but” candidate. His ego appears to be preventing him from recognizing that.
DeSantis’ head is in the right place on most issues, but he utterly failed the TPP litmus test (he voted FOR it), so as they say on Shark Tank, “I’m out.”
He could always come out and at an opportune moment, and say something about respecting the advice and consent power of the Senate. Something.
Quite frankly, I don’t think that 1 in a 100 House members even understood what was at stake, and the terrible loss of soverignty it involved…PLUS the back door for China, just like NAFTA.
Former President Trump most likely moved Ron’s name down his list of potential VP running mate. Moving up the list just may be Tulsi…
If we can see through those two, I think we can rest certain that Donald Trump already has.
My top choices are Tulsi Gabbard and Rand Paul.
Did Rand Paul allow recess appointments?
Is Tulsi a WEF graduate?
Did she say she couldn’t vote to acquit Trump because he was guilty of wrongdoing?
Did she say Trump was “unfit to serve as commander in chief?”
Did she author and cosponsor numerous gun control bills, including “assault weapon” bans? Curious, she just posed in a photo with an AR…
I don’t agree with them on all the issues, but they’re the ones the Deep State hates the most.
There’s a reason they’re the only two members of Congress (current or former) who are on the Ukrainian government’s official list of Russian propagandists.
Just say no
Blasphemy! Both names!
How does it work if DeSantis runs right after he wins? Does Nunez become Governor? I believe the residents in Florida will hold this against him in the primaries and he may not even win the state. It really is a shame because he wasted his career, President Trump will eat him alive. I can’t believe he would be so stupid to go up against President Trump unless he knows something we don’t know.
If past is precedent , when they run , they don’t resign, never do , – Christie others etc – claim they are in charge 24/7 even when on the road all the time – Lt Gov. Is acting Gov , I believe , when Gov . out of State , I think . But maybe this Nunez person, whoever , should brush up on protocol, you never know in politics, as in Broadway, when the understudy gets a chance to be a Star …
She is a Never Trumper. She deleted a bunch of tweets to try to hide it when she ran last time.
Curious , Ron picked her in 2018 , aside from heritage , any issue ever raised about her Never Tramper pedigree?
I meant her Latina heritage was clearly a qualifier in his choice , but what about her Never Trumper History ?
“Every Floridian should vote for DeSantis, because Crist is just an unbearable alternative.”
Sorry. I’m past the point of voting for bad Republican candidates just because their Democrat counterparts are worse. If we can’t get good candidates on either side, we’re screwed either way. So why care who wins?
If everyone didn’t care, this country would’ve already been devoured by the left and we wouldn’t have to be voting,….the outcome would already be decided for us.
I think the Democrats already ate us and are digesting us.
Yeah, thank goodness all of the corrupt and fraudulent voting processes and procedures have been identified, addressed and corrected, and the criminals held a countable for committing voting fraud, because otherwise there would be wide-spread and massive cheating again.
Like it was in 2020¿
Starving yourself to death because you want steak and the only choice you are offered is chicken or dog food is not a viable life plan.
I’m relatively certain that G-Pol wasn’t talking about DeSantis specifically, but rather the concept that holding one’s nose and voting for an R does not result in a better outcome. Cheney or a D? Kinzinger or a D? McConnell or a D? Murkowski or a D? See how that works? In KY, a D would have been a good choice a couple cycles ago already.
I get that. But I would rather have a renegade Murkowski or Kinzinger voting with the democrats in a Congress in which Republicans are the majority and MAGA Republicans are the internal majority and hand out the committee assignments, than have them voting wih the Democrats in a Democrat majority congress. We need the R’s, ANY R’s, ALL R’s, in order to MAGA on. So, yes, if I were in their district/state, I would vote for the Murkowski or Kinzinger in the general election over a democrat just to get another R body into Congress to get control, and I would spit the bad taste out afterward.
Life is full of choices between the bad and the worse. You make them and move on.
My only exception to this is in some local elections for positions that are purely functional, like recorder of deeds or clerk of court. There the only issue really is do they do a good job and keep technologically current.
Trapper your reply CRUSHED IT!!!. There is no perfect candidate.. why? because we are all human. We need to vote for the best candidate available..and then work to get better candidates into office. expecting a perfect SAVIOR candidate is folly..and tyrannical
If and when our candidate of choice is actually elected – let us not forget to HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE. We have so many more ways to contact our elected officials these days.
Sometmes I disagree, when the GOP candidate is perfectly awful and the Dem is way ahead and sure to win anyway. For example, joe o’dea is even worse than michael bennet in colorado senate race this year. Because bennett will win anyway it made sense to me to vote libertarian. yes, Trapper, I might have considered o’dea if he had a chance to get rid of bennet, but the colorado republican party sucks so bad that they need to learn that a major overhaul is needed. I think Cory Gardner might have won this year, because Bennet is not as strong a dem candidate as hickenlooper was. unfortunately, we were offered anti-trump RINO Joe o’dea in 2022. I think Trump is right to point out it was BIG MISTAKE for desantis to support o’dea. Desantis has ruined any chance to serve in a trump cabinet after he announced support for joe o’dea. it is BIG MISTAKE for anyone including gw bush to support the colo GOP candidate, joe o’dea
But in this case, the chicken and dog food are both poisoned.
“In any compromise between food and poison, it is only death that can win. In any compromise between good and evil, it is only evil that can profit” ~ Ayn Rand
New favorite quote of mine.
“Both poisoned”.
One poison is fatal. The other is survivable.
Using the analogy offered:
Democrats are dog food containing a lethal dose of poison that causes a slow and excruciating death for everyone.
Republicans are chicken that may cause a bout of food poisoning. Uncomfy but not fatal.
If DeSantis manages to get nominated I’m voting for him in the general… there’s my statement. However my disdain for current American voting systems is palpable… I bother voting so I can say I did it.
If Ron is the nominee it will be due to Establishment Republican treachery and I will NOT vote for him. In fact, I will actively campaign against him.
Piss poor attitude
This.
It’s not like DeSantis hasn’t governed Florida very well. It’s why I bought a home there (I split time between there and the hell hole Illinois where Jabba is our overlord).
Yes, DeSantis is a turncoat politically, but it’s not like he forced the jab on children or kept the state shut down.
You people really need to read TCT circa 2021.
The party will be over once his role as spoiler is complete, Trump is removed, and Gavin Gruesome is installed. Why would he do that? Because thats what turncoats do.
Relevance?
Rons stance is the same as all the other Republican governors and Republican candidates around kid vaxx mandates.
Additionally, many other Republican governors had a far better response to covid than Ron around state shut downs. Some never shut down at all.
Governor Ron? Yes. Governor Abbott? Yes. Governor Kemp? Yes.
POTUS? Nope.
So you are saying there is no difference between DeSantis and Christ. That would also mean if DeSantis was running against Joe Biden you see no difference.
That is lunacy.
DeSantis is the anti-Christ!
Are you suggesting Ron Desantis is a bad Republican candidate for Governor? I will respectfully disagree.
Yes I am.
Well get your paper mask out and get ready to extend the arm for your mandated booster. Own a business? Not for long.
Any specific gripe? National ambition?
My gripe is that everything he’s done over the past two to three years has been about 2024. He’s imposing good policies for Florida; he’s imposing good policies for himself.
OMG that is tortured logic. He’s only putting forth good policies for Florida to benefit himself and a possible 2024 run?
Are you serious? So if he wasn’t running in 2024 he’d put forth bad policies? What are you trying to say?
As a Floridian might I say, throw me the briar patch of good policies please.
No, I’m saying that he’s playing Trojan Horse. The goal is to become President and then govern as the third term of GWB.
And, there’s no guarantee that if he runs in 2024, he would beat Trump.
In fact the chances that he would beat PDJT are vanishingly small.
But the chances that he could split the R vote just enough to let a Dim back in are not – and are absolutely the ultimate goal of the UniParty Draft Ron project.
After they finished using him for this purpose the UniParty would then hang him out to dry.
I just keep hoping he’s not that stupid, but sundance’s factual evidence grows daily.
So you somehow think that people that support DeSantis in the primary will not support Trump in the general if he’s the nominee?
You think DeSantis voters will become never Trumpers? I don’t think so.
When you put it that way, I certainly hope there wouldn’t even be one such voter.
But with everything else we have to contend with, I’d rather not see even half a percentage of voters become attached to the DeSantis unicorn, stay home, and threaten PDJT’s win. It’s an entirely unnecessary problem… if DeSantis gets smart…
Politics everywhere and always, with the fewest exceptions, has always been the lesser of two evils. War is an evil second only to slavery. So roll up your sleeves.
Be careful with this approach, because you just might get someone worse than you already have. As the actor Russell Crowe said at the dinner table in the movie “Master and Commander”. “You, sir, have chosen the lessor of the two weevils!”
What a foolish, defeatist, loser mentality and philosophy for living & life.
DeSantis is not a bad candidate for governor. In fact he is a good candidate for governor which is why half the country wants to move to Florida.
DeSantis is a bad presidential candidate.
Two different offices.
Best point so far.
DeSantis is not a “bad R” tho. He’s a great State Gov.
DeSantis has been a great Florida governor, no matter wyhis presidential ambitions might be. You’re the kind of guy who would “cut off your nose to spite your face “, as the saying goes. DeSantis is definitely worth your vote for governor!
You can see what has happened with total Democrat rule in the last 21 months, right? And you still say “So, why care who wins?”
Can’t understand that, at all.
Not voting for the Republican is effectively a vote for the Democrat. So you need to weigh that in your decision.
Don’t be stuck on stupid.
Also, DeSantis may only be half maga/AF (not ready to lead in the WH yet)….
But he is absolutely a great governor for Florida.
Your choice is DeSantis vs Crist. This one is easy.
Because democrats never have good candidates!!!!
