Appearing for an interview with Dave Rubin, the founder of Locals and a major conscript of the branding and image shaping effort behind Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Megyn Kelly gives Mr. Rubin the bitter pill of truth. {Direct Rumble Link}
Within this excerpt, Mr. Rubin struggles through the five stages of grief following Kelly’s red pill delivery, eventually stabilizing his emotion by accepting Florida Governor Ron DeSantis can still deliver good political outcomes for the state. It’s a very interesting dynamic to watch for a few reasons.
First, because Megyn Kelly has first-hand experience with the power of the MAGA attachment to the atypical America-First leader. Second, because Kelly’s truthful statements cut against the objective for why Rubin was recruited by DeSantis Inc. WATCH:

Sad Trombone…
I don’t know why, but can’t access rumble on iphone or computer.

Odd.
I had to restart my computer to see it, usually don’t have Rumble issues like that.
Rubin is the libertarian version of Republican with no discernible moral compass. He wants to normalize gay marriage and the practice of manufacturing bespoke babies to validate said marriage. Hard Pass. I’ll take Trump over anything Rubin is pedaling.
Outstanding post. Too many “patriots” nowadays seem unconcerned about “moral” and “social” issues—failing to see that the others (economic, political, fiscal, etc.) are much less important than restoring our “virtue.”
Why oh why won’t De Santis finish doing a great job as Fla’s guv and then retire from politics with a nice fat pension and go into the private sector? He could cut some serious road fronting an innovative startup of some kind and run it sho’nuff anti-woke, anti-pc, anti-all that Lefty pseudo-commie playbill. Is De Santis a human being or just another political animal?
I think the people he’s hanging with now have convinced him that he could easily win the GOP nomination. Thus the barfy rally tour, and the branding (“Top Gov”, “America’s Governor”).
I don’t participate in other political forums. Is CTH the only place where people are observing what DeSantis is doing?
Morning and evening, I look into lucianne.com zerohedge.com citizenfreepress.com and instapundit.com …just scrolling headlines, looking for clues to any kind of real life. Instapundit has a good crowd of regular commenters. So far CTH is the only outfit keeping close tabs on De Santis.
I forgot one: Taki’s Magazine. All the writers who contribute there are well-informed and competent.
Here’s one of their latest articles from a writer called Z-Man: https://www.takimag.com/article/the-clownification-of-politics/
Paul Ryan endorsing DeSantis says alot. It’s a simple point to use to remind those who are currently enamored by DeSantis, i.e., Ted Cruz 2.0
LOL. I thought te same thing. Kiss of death for anyone with a memory.
I watched the video again. I think some people need to call Megyn Kelly and tell her that many of us Trump supporters actually do not like DeSantis, because she thinks we do like him. That was the prevailing “wisdom” prior to the Mar-a-Lago raid. The raid changed everything. It caused us to scrutinize the situation, scrutinize DeSantis.
Hmmm. Per Vanity Fair:
The governor’s affable relationships with the media aren’t just limited to cable news. In January, DeSantis hosted Dave Rubin, a conservative podcaster, and Benny Johnson, a once-disgraced BuzzFeed writer who now works for Newsmax, at a dinner at the governor’s mansion, per the [New York] Times.

Ben Shapiro is hyping DeSantis too. Did Shapiro recently move to Florida?
Rubin is trying to act like an impartial political pundit, but he just moved to Florida and is hanging out with DeSantis? I’ll bet money Rubin is part of DeSantis’ stealth 2024 presidential campaign team. (Stealth because he hasn’t announced yet.)
Wow, I was just kidding about Shapiro moving to Florida. But apparently he did exactly that. How interesting.
Thanks for your digging, Treepers rock!
November 2021:
The Daily Wire released a one-on-one interview Sunday with Gov. Ron DeSantis and conservative pundit Ben Shapiro. Filmed inside the Governor’s Office, DeSantis and Shapiro explored a variety of issues — COVID-19, corporate activism, media bias and immigration, among others. Florida State University hosted Shapiro late Monday for a sold-out speaking event. He was seen touring the Florida Capitol Building prior to the event. A former California resident, Shapiro relocated to Florida amid the pandemic […]
