Occasionally he writes for City Journal. But he is published elsewhere also. As you were a prison counselor, may I highly recommend that you research his voluminous works? I am certain you would find them most interesting in the light of what you just posted.

The whole concept is just crazy. Supposedly Trump lied to lenders overvaluing his properties to secure loans. The lenders supposedly gave him loans based on the overvaluations. This means the lenders supposedly did not do any due diligence evaluations of the claimed valuations. This would open up the lenders to lawsuits from their shareholders.
The Manhattan DA empaneled a grand jury on this same thong and it was dropped with no charges being brought against Trump.

in danger if he released it….So he is more worried about them than
the fact that the same agency they work for is trying to destroy him

I work in the lending side of Real Estate. The question regarding other holdings—” is what do you think they are worth.” It is always an estimate of value from the owner. It is the underwriter’s job to value other holdings if necessary. The only way there could ever be any actual fraud is if someone is goosing actual appraisals. That is so so rare these days that it’s hardly worth mentioning.

The idea that any real estate transaction involving a bank financing would not include appraisal values AT THAT TIME of financing is whacky.

Not just whacky, probably illegal. FIRREA requires the bank to get an appraisal from a qualified 3rd party appraiser. And I stress that the illegality would be on the part of the bank, not the borrower.

Some appraisals are done to get to a number, then that would be fraud centered on another entity. At the end of the day, there are fair market values, appraised values, sale comp. values, income approach values, and the cost approach. But a FMV or arm’s length transaction rules the day.
The whole lawsuit sounds so farfetched. This guy has had more scrutiny than any other politician and yet he remains calm and continues to fight. He is truly amazing and an inspiration.
It doesn’t even sound realistic. If any of this were true than the entire industry of real estate, finance, appraisals, inspections and much more is a fraud. It’s an indictment against NYC.
Trump needs to counter sue for malicious prosecution and make NY pay through the nose for going after him.
