You did extremely well with the $75,000 a year income concept. I have raised two children and have never made close to $75,000 a year.
What is more, the average American Income is much below that, so that even if you have difficulty at that salary, most Americans, the ones who are going to foot the bill, are hurting much more than that.

Because the elites that make up what is left of the Democratic Party make much more than that, and think people who make $75,000 a year are nearly homeless. Two decades ago my wife quit her career and retrained, taking college courses in accounting. She did this so she could work part time while raising our two young boys which she did until after they left college. She always had time for them and would often set up three day camp trips starting after school on Thursday, which I would join late on Fridays. Both my boys turned out to be high functioning contributors to society (engineer and pilot)
We took a Federal loan out for that accounting training and have been paying it back ever since, at the slowest possible rate that we could with only 0.7% interest rate. We still owe 3 grand. We both payed off our original college loans and so did one boy, the other had a full ride.
This administration makes me angry and sick with this BS pandering to their base. But, I’ll tell you what, if this becomes the law of the land, we are going to take advantage and apply for the loan forgiveness. I cannot just simply sit here on principle and watch leftist slackers raking in all the grift when it is available to us too.

If the debt is mostly for Pell Grant recipients then the people receiving the loan forgiveness are scholars in Black Studies, Women’s Studies, and Trans Studies. They are the low income scholars who still cannot get good jobs even with their newly minted degrees in happy horse shit.
Or nurses, OTA’s, welders, trucking, logistics, LPN’s, EMS, phlebotomists etc. Many community college students obtain Career and Technical Education degrees using Pell funds.

Dental hygiene is a two year degree. Graduates earn about $60k depending on their local job market.
