[White House Press Release] – This morning, President Biden tested positive for COVID-19. He is fully vaccinated and twice boosted and experiencing very mild symptoms. He has begun taking Paxlovid. Consistent with CDC guidelines, he will isolate at the White House and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time. He has been in contact with members of the White House staff by phone this morning, and will participate in his planned meetings at the White House this morning via phone and Zoom from the residence.
Consistent with White House protocol for positive COVID cases, which goes above and beyond CDC guidance, he will continue to work in isolation until he tests negative. Once he tests negative, he will return to in-person work.
Out of an abundance of transparency, the White House will provide a daily update on the President’s status as he continues to carry out the full duties of the office while in isolation.
Per standard protocol for any positive case at the White House, the White House Medical Unit will inform all close contacts of the President during the day today, including any Members of Congress and any members of the press who interacted with the President during yesterday’s travel. My father-in-law is elderly, in his late 80’s, but was doing great until the last year. This time last year he was mowing his own lawn with a push mower. A year later and he can barely walk and is constantly short of breath. He got the vax and it’s been downhill ever since. My wife is convinced it’s the vax.

I think that is true for lots of older folks. They were doing all right, got the vaxx, and then went into decline, and it is hard to argue because they are already elderly, and well, older folks pass away. First time getting Covid was last summer in August, Delta, I’m not vaxxed or boosted, I’m 67. I’ve got a good immune system, never had the flu shot, it never made sense to me to get it every year because the shot only protected from previous years strain not the current one going around. They did the same with the “Jab” only this time the Jab overrides our innate immunities and we are left vulnerable to all new strains. That’s why the vaxxed are getting covid over and over or they are dieing from the boosters.
Unfortunately, omicron is so different from earlier variants that anything prior doesn’t protect you much, just from more serious outcomes. Once you’ve had omicron, it’s a different story and a very recent study shows at least 14 months protection against newer omicron variants.
