We are in danger of losing our ability to think logically !! There is one other reason that death rates are higher among the vaccinated than the unvaccinated — which both cn and the cited article FAIL to mention. It is this: that healthy young persons are less likely to choose to be vaccinated than are the elderly and those with fragile health. The two groups are NOT THE SAME. So of course when the vaccines turned out to be uneffective, more deaths will occur in the group that is weaker.
Beyond that, one could include young children in the stats and skew the results further. No mention whatsoever was made of age. I know damned well the vax causes harm, but F–k the lot of you.

One item that will lower your 5 times figure is a majority of older people and those with lots of comorbidities were vaccinated and died from old age and their other illnesses. I do not suggest it would lower your 5X statistic by more than half but that is something to consider.
You are on the right track and cn is wrong – or at least quoting people who are wrong.
If you go back to the original reference you will see that they divide each group (vaccinted with one dose, two doses or unvaccinted) in two age groups (younger than 50 years, 50 years and older). If you add the two groups together, then there are 5 times higher rate of death in the vaccinated group. However, you cannot do that because the mortality in the older age category is much higher, and those in the older category had at that time a much higher rate of vaccination.
In actual fact if one calculates the mortality rate for the two age groups separately there is good efficacy of the vaccine for the older age group, but not for the younger one – where the mortality rate is actually slightly higher for the vaccinated group.
I have seen the same set of figures (or similar sets) been misrepresented several times (even by illuminaries like Dr Malone and Mark Steyn). It is sad.
There are plenty of reasons to be very critical of how our authorities have managed the pandemic, and not least the vaccine program. It should be obvious now:
1) that the vaccines protected the elderly and those with comorbidities agaisnt severe disease
2) that the vaccines had no positive net effect (ie more side effects than protective effects) when used in younger people without comorbidities
3) that the protective effect vanes quickly – though I think it is still unclear whether it is a rapid reduction of the intrinsic protective effect, or if the reduction in effectiveness mainly is caused by genetic drift of the virus
Also, I fear that the mass vaccination, using a vaccine that is only directed towards a small part of the virus, has helped the virus to develop more viable mutations, than if the vaccines only had been used in the risk groups. The unvaccinated younger persons would eventually have developed natural immunity – but that immunity would have been directed against more than one single part of the virus, which would have made it much more difficult for the virus to develop viable mutations.
So, I am very critical regarding the vaccines and how they have been used. However, we need to do our maths and science correctly, otherwise we will never solve this problem.
The deepstate does not want it solved because it will expose them as frauds. It is my understanding that Remdesivir, the only HIH approved Covid medicine, has a 30% chance of causing kidney failure.

In my comment above I only wrote about the vaccines. However, there are of course lots of other failures by our “rulers”: the lock-downs, the unwillingness to initially halt international travels* (but not the the US, thanks to PDJT), not to use already known drugs (Vit D, HCQ, Ivermectin, cortison+ etc) etc.
*Banning international travels would not have stopped the pandemic, but it would have delayed the contagion, so that many countries would have had time to stock up on PPE and test equipment.
+ Cortison was eventually used, but only after an inordinate delay in finding out what kind of dosage to use

If it mutates quickly and often, then it could make sense. Like the flu, or the common cold, you are not immune for life. I had a family member in his late 70’s relapse after taking Paxlovid. It only took less than a week for it to happen. He was not happy.

Not sure if Paxlovid is approved to treat Covid, but if it is FDA-approved then the alternate “experimental” drugs should lose their EUA’s, correct? Once there is an approved treatment then the other experimental treatments are unnecessary and the EUA’s should disappear.

I had COVID before it was even mentioned in “the news”.
I had three very rough days getting breathing treatments with a nebulizer and using an Ibuterol inhaler.
It was five days before I could go back to work and it was about a month before I was back to normal.
Last weekend my son and his wife stopped by on the way home from a short vacation up by the lake in Michigan. They were came by to pick up their dogs my wife watched for them while they were gone.
They and my wife came down with COVID. I did not get it.
MY son and his wife were told it was the newest variant. How the doc knew that I don’t know.
My wife and son both had the first two jabs. My daughter-in-law is an RN and has all the jabs as required by her workplace. I have had NONE and will have none!
None of the three had nearly as bad as respiratory symptoms as I had. My son and wife are smokers, as am I.
Variants of viruses like COVID and influenza tend to be less potent than the first outbreak. And apparently my natural immunity is still there. I had no symptoms.
No viral infection spread by aerosol having a non human reservoir has ever been contained or controlled, let alone irradicated.
