The open-border GOPe crowd (Koch Inc.) have already put Kristi Noem into play with a book release and well financed marketing team. The foreign policy interventionist GOPe crowd (AIPAC lobby) are funding Nikki Haley and Mike Pompeo respectively. The GOPe white wine spritzer crowd (inside donor class) are funding the explorations of Mike Pence. And the GOPe Wall Street hedge funds (political insurance experts and short sellers) are betting other people’s money on Ron DeSantis.
There will likely be other fish, but for now that’s the inside crew being financially fed by those who run the Republican Club. Inside the death star, Decepticon Leader Mitch McConnell and the GOPe beltway control agents have contracted for the 2024 reupholstery of the club’s leather chairs, and the mahogany table is being refinished to remove scratches from the crystal brandy glasses that were slammed and shattered in prior bouts of UniParty frustration.
From the perspective of Republican club control, the MAGA rebellion must be crushed at all costs. Control over the mid-term outcome, which may include the intentional losing of key races in order to ensure full retention of club control, now heads into the championship rounds. Mike Pence will lead the current fight in the battleground of Arizona, where the republican club cannot –and will not– permit the MAGA rebellion to interfere with their larger responsibility for open-borders and cheap labor migration.

Successful republican club politics always involves the illusion of choice.
Republican party candidates, those funded by the various mechanisms that eventually all lead back to Wall Street and the multinational banking and finance interests of the professional donor class, are more akin to Russian matryoshka nesting dolls. Remove the top of one doll and the doll underneath is an exact duplicate, only smaller. Keep removing them and eventually you get to the least visible doll, the one easiest to control, which is the one that all others are created to hide.
Pence is the biggest and most visible DeceptiCon in the republican club’s matryoshka operation.
I suspect Noem and/or DeSantis will be the doll we will find after all the other club masks fall.

Honestly, if PTrump decides not to run or is prevented from running, who is the choice then? This same cycle repeated over and over is very negative and defeating, imo and prevents any cohesive unification for any candidate that actually might be a good one, even without DeSantis or PTrump in the mix.
I’m not going to play that game again. The candidate that shows me good conservative values, is honest, moral and whose actions and record are decent, will get my vote no matter who they are. Putting the true president back in his office we elected him to, is where the fight is, and where the focus should be. I personally am not looking to anything else but restutution, and if that means we first have to clean out capital hill first, then so be it. Time to get this done.
I don’t know whether I disagreer or whether we need to dig further, in that first we need to clean up what Biden himself called a redundant voter fraud system before we can reliably hope to win anything.
Some states have made moves toward valid voter ID, one day voting, etc. but the vote counting machines with count-altering logarhythms built in, are still intact. Harvesting is still intact in most places, as is mail-in voting.
Without election integrity, from ballot cast to final ballot tabulation, we are doomed.
The opposition has effectively distracted us for two years with enough confetti in the wind and uproar to the point that very little that is substantive has been changed. We have damned little time left, feckless Republican leadership in Washington, and the outcomes are potentially grim.
Meanwhile, we’re letting the negative message feed from the opposition, which is delivered in bits and pieces, poison individual narratives and divide us as it brings us to the position of fighting with each other, picking off potentially good candidates.
There is no perfect candidate. I’ll take some disagreement over issues, some imperfection, some measure of integrity, some demonstrated willingness to take action in support of a position, and some measure of demonstrated effectiveness in getting things accomplished in my candidate of choice.

I do, and while DeSantis has been extremely effective why would you move off an known entity? DiSantis has a rubberstamp legislature, which he has used effectively. How often do we read: “DiSantis signs a bill to… ” Other governors don’t have that advantage, or if they do, they don’t pursue it as DiSantis does.
I think there is a winning coalition to be forged from diehard Trump supporters, and those who want his policies and positions, i.e. Trumpism without Trump. DiSantis could lead such a coalition and I’d be delighted if it could be forged.
Remember what forging is: First you heat the iron to red-hot, and then you beat it into shape with a hemmer on an anvil. Then you dip it into chilled water or oil – and then back into the forge for another cycle again, and again, and again, until it is formed.
Trump has the vicious, all-out oposition of the socialist machine and its minions in the press and on Capitol Hill working night and day against him. They and their rigged voting machines will have some sway over the outcomes – especially among undecided and “independent” voters who are easily swayed who are fed through the media news outlets, and sophisticates who write for the New Yorker and their elitist/socialist readership, and the cadre of college elites and their young, politically naive voters.
Trump also has the bugaboo of his age working against his candidacy, regardless his fitness for office.
We’ll see what Trump does, how he fares against a media swarm buzzing up a projected Gavin Newsom-Michelle Obama or some such ticket. We’ll see if he falters or defers, or whether his candidacy seems destined to be irreparably smeared. We’ll see if his hubris is such that he feels compelled to keep the ball and run it himself, or whether he can pass or make a handoff. At such a point, if it comes, we need a player who can run the ball, break tackles, and score.

The last paragraph of my post above attempts to summarize what could go wrong with a Trump campaign early-on that could result in Trump’s handing the ball off to DiSantis.
I don’t believe I’m missing that – nor am I missing the alt-right media attention on DiSantis.
As a student of language and communication theory, and having seen the Big Lie technique and other propaganda mechanisms play out for several decades, I’ve pretty well learned to filter out the hype – regardless the source.
Ideally, we’d see Trump run again unopposed and somehow able to rise like a Phoenix bird from the ashes of opposition within his own party, voter fraud, media fawning over the dem ticket and simultaneous ramping up the incesssnt, mendacious assault against him, the orchestrated popular appeal sure to be puffed up and paraded behind a glamourized dem ticket, criminal charges and lawsuits against Trump from everywhere, a firestorm of October surprises, and all else the socialist/Soros/Obama/Schwab/demo-uniparty revolution can throw against him.
I’d like to see him prevail but am worried about his chances against those odds, especially given the Achilles heel of his own hubris.
Sure, those forces would attack DiSantis too, but he’s a fresh face that they haven’t had time to build much of a propaganda campaign against – and he could, I believe, prevail among the great undecided masses and those who reject Trump per se but who would resonate with neo-Trumpian positions as articulated by DiSantis: strong defense, secure borders, strong family values, support for business, minimal big government intrusion on private life, a soldier’s view of foreign policy and foreign relations, etc.
I think, if it were to come about, DiSantis could become a more winnable candidate. He’d carry Trump’s base, plus, to name one example, those who might be nice, good, hardworking traditional (that’s how their parents voted) democrats who don’t want to have their children molested at Disneyland.
I hope Trump will win, if in the final heat he winds up running. At this point I’m more sure of DiSantis – if circumstances play out so that he runs.

I don’t necessarily agree here. PTrump has weathered plenty of accusations for over 5 years and nothing has caused his support to wane, in fact it has strengthened it. The accusations eventually turned out to be false in every situation too. People have gone through all of it with him.
They would have to get convictions to prevent him from running and then it wouldn’t matter what the people believed because legally he couldn’t run. The protests would be mighty at that point from his base. At least I would hope and expect they would be.

The opposition hasn’t fooled us – they have only brought us closer together and strengthened our resolve. Speaking as one poster who has pondered the possibility of a DiSantis candidacy after having voted for Trump twice, I’m not pushing DiSantis nor abandoning Trump.
Nor am I so naive as to think the other side would leave any other candidate – including all of the down-ticket current Trump-endorsed candidates – alone. The vitriol and venom will continue to flow.
I also know that the propaganda campaign against Trump has had plenty of time to build – and the repeated lies against him are, to a greater extent that I’m comfortable with, being embedded in the political folklore of the day.
What I’m trying to do is objectively survey the political landscape, not just Trump’s piece of the territory, assess the situation(s) and look for options. The old if not Plan A, then what is Plan B, C, etc.
This is a battle – in a war without bullets. Training, as incessant study which brings about prepared readiness, and situational awareness at all stages, can save you your ass in a battle.
In this case we’re all individually and collectively involved in the battle for America’s survival. As such, we sometimes we have to explore every option – even if that means listening to what we don’t want to hear or considering what we’d rather not entertain, all as part of our situational awareness.
That’s where I’m basically at with my consideration of the “what if’s” that would lead to a DiSantis candidacy. Personally I’m glad Trump is not our only option and that’s nothing against Trump.

DeSantis is in his early 40’s there is plenty of time for him to be President. Florida needs him. Florida could still turn democrat.
The job of the next president is going to be brutal. He or she has to slash and burn the deep state and the swamp for once and for all. It is better to have someone who will not have to stand for election again. Trump is the obvious man for this job. I just don’t see anyone else strong enough with a thick enough skin and the skill to do what needs to be done to get this country back. Then DeSantis can run in 2028 and 2032 and build back better the right way.
Pence is deep state. His state Indiana was a hot bed for child trafficking. There were serious rumors about him. His lack of loyalty to Trump was a tell. His wife always looked embarrassed to be there.
I live in Florida. I love DeSantis as the Governor of Florida. I want him as my Governor for the next 4 years. Then I want him to run for President. He has plenty of time. If he should push Trump aside for his own career prior to his time, I would respect him much less and be disappointed in him. It might hurt his chances later with other people like me if he tries this and loses.
If he should become elected President next time and left the White House at age 50 what would he do with the rest of his life? Would he be like Obama, get rich or be bored?
In the meantime I really feel that Trump was robbed and that he deserves his final chance of restitution for us and for him. I really do not feel it would be right for DeSantis to excercise his ego and try to usurp the power from Trump at this time. Much better for his career to have PDJT Trump’s blessing in 2028.

It is amazing what he did accomplish. Especially having been under direct political fire & severe opposition from BOTH sides of the aisle for 4 years. He got several hundred miles of border wall built despite extreme resistance in his OWN party. Yea got our economy in better shape than it had been in 40 years.

He changed the dynamic with North Korea. He actually got North and South Korea to talk to each other.

The swamp was as big or bigger when he left office than when he took office. His lack of experience with the federal government system hurt him. I fully agree and understand that the folks he surrounded himself insulated the swamp from any actions he may have taken. I got it. We live amongst the snowbirds of Arizona, I’ve seen thousands of Trump flags, not one Pence flag or sign.
One thing the 2020 election proved up was numbers of apparent public support don’t equal counted votes. We all remember Biden’s ‘rallies’. How sparse Biden signs were. How little public vocal support there was.
It’s who casts, and more importantly, counts the votes. That’s what Arizona is facing in a couple months. I think the voters there should seriously assess the performance of their legislators in implementing election fraud measures and voice those sentiments at the polls as well. They had their chance.
I distinctly remember slojo coming to town for a rally!, and a reporter was walking around downtown looking for someone to interview, and couldn’t find one person to talk to….nada…

I think we need to come to terms with a reality most simply refuse to accept. Pence will and can furnish enough MONEY and democrats to turn colors to vote for a uniparty candidate, as this in no small way a large aspect of the down ballot phenomenon in 2020. (we have to accept that this while unethical is a reality in the big show. and not illegal). Once we have accepted this reality and learn to adjust our standards in this political warfare, it is vital we exploit the same strategies in select races. I think Trump’s biggest failures were the people that he surrounded himself with. I get it that he needed Senate approval for cabinet positions and he had to pick his battles. Yes, it’s easy to be an armchair quarterback now, but having Pence as a VP, Sessions as AG and replacing Comey with Wray were disasters that simply brought either incompetence or the enemy itself inside the castle.

Locally we voted roughly 70/30 for PDJT in 2020, a bit of an improvement from 2016 due to lack of other robust candidates from other parties.
MAGA is strong locally and all the pieces are in place to defend it from the Bolsheviks in the state. Things are more tenuous at the state level, obvious MAGA is open to government supported opposition and physical attack. I saw this most recently when the convoy passed through Oregon on the way to Olympia, and also at MAGA rallies in Salem. I doubt the state will go down peacefully at the mail-in ballot box but that’s me. To much government sponsored graft, corruption and violence.
One thing I learned over the decades is it’s tough to fight alone and, unfortunately, I’m lousy at changing hearts and minds, believing too much in independence and free will. Life is short so I’m thinking defending local is the best play. Leave the bigger battles to the young.

Let’s view this from the perspective of State Legislators ‘alone’. Arizona, New Mexico, or Wisconsin could overturn the 2020 election, resulting in President Trump receiving the electors. But, wait, this was a fraud, none of the real Arizona, New Mexico, or Wisconsin Representatives have been in congress for almost 2 years and none of the real Arizona, New Mexico, or Wisconsin electors had an opportunity to even convince the other electors in the college of electors for example to change their vote during the 2020 election. How can the defrauded electors be made whole?
The only recourse is for a complete do-over of the 2020 election, or send the problem to the SCOTUS.
It will be interesting to compare and contrast the size of the crowds in attendance at the two rallies.

I think the member refers to ‘you and I’ as individuals. Collectively, if we can communicate, coordinate and put aside petty differences to pursue common mission objectives, we can ‘stop’ the enemy. This is beyond politics now; the survival of the Republic is at stake. I hope people realize that.

DeSantis is GOPe? Well that is an interesting reveal. The next two years are not going to be very pleasant if that’s the case and PTrump decides not to run.
As far as the midterms? Imo, they are far from a sure thing for MAGA. The war within the Republican Party is hot and going to get much hotter very soon. The GOPe captured GA primaries very easily. Nary a protest from anyone who matters. AZ will be the next battle. And don’t count out the GOPe helping Liz Cheney win her primary either. If Raffensperger was able to be put in and win his primary, pretty much anyone can be.
McConnell is not done and his power, along with others in the elite GOPe ranks, is far from diminished. It’s going to be a very long two years.

NOBODY in the R’s is pure and perfect…indeed not even the great Donald Trump. MAGA indeed, but he’s made a bunch of mistakes, and has a weakness for egocentric leaning that can be problematic.
DeSantis is not perfect, but I seriously doubt he is a paid-for GOPe by any stretch. His record and decision making has defied too many vested interests that support the donor class…which is evidence of MAGA. His defiance of major Biden agendas for our state, even as other R governors folded, is evidence of independent strength. His strategy and budgets are MAGA supportive. Ron DeSantis is not only a strong MAGA Governor, he represents our best hope to save America.
What are his weaknesses? According to reports he can be aloof, single minded in purpose, and ruthless in his pursuit of his agenda. He is not a pat your back politician. A number of R’s complain or whine when he isn’t giving them support, but most often it’s because they aren’t following the Conservative agenda. Former Congressman Francis Rooney was one of those. He didn’t support MAGA well following DeSantis election as Governor, instead running with RINOS and US Chamber of Commerce desires. DeSantis not only cut him off, he publicly SHAMED him at a high level press conference regarding water quality issues and solutions. Rooney decided to not seek re-election. Byron Donalds, a true MAGA candidate supported by RD, won.
I know Mr. Donalds and have discussed this and other interesting things relative to the issues we are discussing. Byron is a no BS guy…really. His candor to me is striking. He is also a huge admirer of Ron DeSantis.
The right man for the job isn’t an azz kisser, but they have to be able to relate and communicate well enough to win support. Ron DeSantis is that man.
