The GOPe white wine spritzer crowd (inside donor class) are funding the explorations of Mike Pence. And the GOPe Wall Street hedge funds (political insurance experts and short sellers) are betting other people’s money on Ron DeSantis.
There will likely be other fish, but for now that’s the inside crew being financially fed by those who run the Republican Club. Inside the death star, Decepticon Leader Mitch McConnell and the GOPe beltway control agents have contracted for the 2024 reupholstery of the club’s leather chairs, and the mahogany table is being refinished to remove scratches from the crystal brandy glasses that were slammed and shattered in prior bouts of UniParty frustration.
From the perspective of Republican club control, the MAGA rebellion must be crushed at all costs. Control over the mid-term outcome, which may include the intentional losing of key races in order to ensure full retention of club control, now heads into the championship rounds. Mike Pence will lead the current fight in the battleground of Arizona, where the republican club cannot –and will not– permit the MAGA rebellion to interfere with their larger responsibility for open-borders and cheap labor migration.

Ask yourself why only one Republican governor out of nearly 30 has been given free rein during the pandemic. DeSantis was allowed to flout national corporations like Disney, directly clash with the Biden administration, and faced little blowback by anyone except the usual suspects on the Left. I think that the support of some GOPe/globalists for Gov. DeSantis is not because of anything negative about him but because their strategy is to dilute President Trump’s support from his base. The globalists fear President Trump much more than they do Gov. DeSantis. The tactic is similar to the strategy of “divide and conquer” and they would love for the base to be arguing over Trump versus DeSantis. The base needs to remain unified and not succumb to a strategy like this.

I was talking with a rough looking Latino in Tampa about a year ago. Not likely a conservative, yet a huge DeSantis fan because DeSantis is perceived as very tough. He basically said he’d walk through hell on his knees to vote DeSantis. If DeSantis is GOPe, we’re so screwed it is not worth taking our time to consider it any more.

The key is to stop it, not argue with people about how it occurred. FWIW, I’m a confessed DeSantis fan. Personally spoke with him at an event related to a family member. Good background for C-in-C. I say that full aware Navy JAGs have largely become 4th reich commissars, but didn’t get that vibe from him. He’s competitive but level headed.
