David McCormick has conceded the Pennsylvania Republican Primary to Mehmet Oz as the state recount is failing to provide enough votes to close the distance between the two candidates.
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Former hedge fund CEO David McCormick conceded the Republican primary in Pennsylvania for U.S. Senate to celebrity heart surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz, ending his campaign Friday night as he acknowledged an ongoing statewide recount wouldn’t give him enough votes to make up the deficit.
After a bitter campaign that blanketed the airwaves with millions of dollars in attack ads, McCormick issued a gracious concession, vowing to help unite the party behind Oz.
“It’s now clear to me with the recount largely complete that we have a nominee,” McCormick said at a campaign party at a Pittsburgh hotel. “And today I called Mehmet Oz to congratulate him on his victory.”
McCormick’s concession cements a general election campaign between Oz, who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, and Democrat John Fetterman in what is expected to be one of the nation’s premier Senate contests. (read more)

This post is off topic regarding PA but is relevant to the need for states to work from the bottom up. Here in Massachusetts, we have not had a republican state attorney general since 1968. Democrats only for 54 years.
This year we have a very conservative lawyer, Jay McMahon, running as the republican candidate. He ran unopposed in our primary and will face a relatively unknown democrat. The current Attorney General, Maura Healey, is running for governor (may God bless us; she is a nightmare).
Jay McMahon is relatively unknown statewide as well so I hope my fellow treepers from Massachusetts will take a look at Jay and get behind his campaign. After 50+ years and the current national disaster of communist rule, I think we have a very good chance to take this important state office.

I find it sad that PA was reduced to these 2 candidates for their GOP primary choices. Sean Parnell would have been a real choice but unfortunately his ex-wife took care of that. Hopefully Parnell will be back just like Eric Greitens came back fighting in Missouri. I know nothing about the divorce fight for the Parnells but I’m always suspect when the wife starts to throw trash to take the husband out of a political race.
In every divorce each party has its own issues and baggage. As I understand it, the judge basically told Sean his chances of significant contact with his kids was nil if he continued his campaign. New form of lawfare IMO.

This is a similar tactic used in 2003 that took out republican US Senate candidate, Jack Ryan of Illinois, for a young IL state senator Barack Obama to run against a hastily chosen republican opponent, Alan Keyes.
The custody records for the divorce were unsealed by a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge revealing Ryan’s wife (you know her as Seven of Nine from Star Trek–Jeri Ryan) accused Jack of pressuring her into participating in sex club activities in various cities. Being a republican, he had to drop out of the race. Of course that US Senate seat was crucial in paving the way to the White House for BO.

Careful – Dr. Oz shows were entertainment/informational – Dr. Oz wasn’t professing his personal beliefs particularly one way or the other on the vast majority of his shows. I particularly dislike the comments made that somehow Oz is Romney – I don’t perceive anything close to that at all, particularly Mormonism. I’m giving Dr. Oz a chance – he certainly has the pandemic lies correct.

Reminder that back in 2018, Jack Posobiec supported Democrat Conor Lamb over Trump endorsed Rick Saccone in Western Pennsylvania.
Conor Lamb ended up voting to impeach Trump twice and as of March 2022, Lamb had voted in line with Joe Biden’s stated position 100% of the time.

While I have serious doubts about his conservative/MAGA bona fides, I will say that he was devoting entire segments of his tv show many years ago to the danger of the CCP being in control of and the source of our prescription drug manufacturing and precursors. Likewise, he did shows on the processing of US foods (including fresh meats and poultry) in China and that they controlled that supply chain too much. He was unafraid to sound a warning bell about the danger of ceding control of our food and pharmaceutical supply chain to the chicoms.
Let’s be realistic. PA is a purple state with tons of voter fraud in the major Democrat led cities. Oz will not be able to run like Ted Cruz/Rand Paul and get elected, but he will never be a traitor to his Party or to Trump like Arlen Spector or Pat Toomey.
If and when Trump is re-elected, I could see him picking Oz in 6 years (at the end of his first term in the Senate) to be Ambassador to Turkey and bring Erdowan back into the good graces of the United States. Turkey could then be a most important geopolitical force for stability in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

This letter released by the campaign makes it clear that a pre-existing heart condition led to Mr. Fetterman’s stroke, in the view of the doctor who treated him.
It doesn’t actually make it clear when he got the cardiomyopathy though, unless I’m not understanding it.
