We just got back from Paris, n/s both ways to DFW. So nice not to have 2/3 connections each way. When captain got on the hooter heading over, he informed us that masks were at our option, but the Federal Judge ruled them t/b uncontitutional. Was so pleasant. Travelling before was not that big a deal, you just pulled blanket over your head and slept, or on return you had a glass of water on your tray to ‘sip’. Flight attendants were reasonable with the arrangement. Actually we prefer wearing masks in the airports – big number of people travelling from who-knows-where.
At CDG I did notice they steered all American passport holders to do the facial scanning with passport control- we opted out – the EU on requires it of EU citizens, but it looks like they are capturing all folks going through – probably are sharing it with both EU and US government.

I have a different take on this issue as I read McDonald’s missive. While I don’t wear masks except when they are required to enter a store, medical offices or other buildings, I believe McDonald’s interference with this mother and child is rather arrogant. While I fully concur that the probability of simultaneous incapacitation of a cockpit crew due to the “Jab” is infinitesimal – and thus is worthy of no further discussion, I feel the probably petty urge to state that increasingly few commercial carriers commonly have three “person” flight deck crews. Cockpit automation and the resulting aviation regulation changes allow for two “person” flight deck configurations in a significant majority of the commercial passenger carrying aircraft flying today. That’s how the aircraft are designed/built! (As an aside, it’s also true that it wouldn’t be uncommon to have a “deadhead” pilot on the passenger manifest.)
The most petty of my comments: I bristle at the assertion that flight deck crew members have equal proficiency. To my knowledge (and in my experience), that’s never been true, nor has it been a stated assertion of any carrier.
