A very alarming set of updates from the Uvalde, Texas, school shooting has everyone starting to question what was previously said by authorities about the events.
The Wall Street Journal has some updated information that is extremely disturbing.
TEXAS – […] “Victor Escalon, a regional director for the Texas Department of Public Safety, said in a briefing that the now-deceased gunman, 18-year-old Salvador Ramos, lingered outside Robb Elementary for 12 minutes firing shots before walking into the school and barricading himself in a classroom where he killed 19 children and two teachers.
Mr. Escalon said he couldn’t say why no one stopped Ramos from entering the school during that time Tuesday. Most of the shots Ramos fired came during the first several minutes after he entered the school, Mr. Escalon said. People who arrived at the school while Ramos locked himself in a classroom, or saw videos of police waiting outside, were furious.
“The police were doing nothing,” said Angeli Rose Gomez, who after learning about the shooting drove 40 miles to Robb Elementary, where her children are in second and third grade. “They were just standing outside the fence. They weren’t going in there or running anywhere.”
DPS officials previously said an armed school officer confronted Ramos as he arrived at the school. Mr. Escalon said Thursday that information was incorrect and no one encountered Ramos as he arrived at the school. “There was not an officer readily available and armed,” Mr. Escalon said.
A Border Patrol tactical team went into the school an hour later, around 12:40 p.m., was able to get into the classroom and kill Ramos, Mr. Escalon said.
Ms. Gomez, a farm supervisor, said that she was one of numerous parents waiting outside the school who began encouraging—first politely, and then with more urgency—police and other law enforcement to enter the school sooner. After a few minutes, she said, U.S. Marshals put her in handcuffs, telling her she was being arrested for actively intervening in an active investigation.
Ms. Gomez convinced local Uvalde police officers whom she knew to persuade the marshals to set her free. Around her, the scene was frantic. She said she saw a father tackled and thrown to the ground by police and a third pepper-sprayed. Once freed from her cuffs, Ms. Gomez made her distance from the crowd, jumped the school fence, and ran inside to grab her two children. She sprinted out of the school with them.
Videos circulated on social media Wednesday and Thursday of frantic family members trying to get access to Robb Elementary as the attack was unfolding, some of them yelling at police who blocked them from entering.
“Shoot him or something!” a woman’s voice can be heard yelling on a video, before a man is heard saying about the officers, “They’re all just [expletive] parked outside, dude. They need to go in there.”
Parents can be heard yelling to each other that their kids were inside the school and that they needed to get in. A woman can be heard yelling at a police officer, “He’s one person! Take him out!”
The Uvalde Police Department couldn’t be reached for comment. A representative for the U.S. Marshals Service didn’t respond to a request for comment.
Asked at the press conference why law enforcement weren’t able to respond in the initial 12 minutes Ramos was outside the school, Mr. Escalon said that was part of the investigation. “Our job is to report the facts and have answers. We’re not there yet,” he said. (read more)

All of the outside school doors open to the outside, if locked as they should have been it would have been almost impossible to force your way in. Back around 2006-2007 in a big city school district in a bad area of town they chained shut all the exits except the main entrance where they had the metal detector. This being a fire code violation I asked the Principle why the chains? His answer was to keep out the guns and people that were not allowed. They did this in more than one school.
The new schools we built all had cameras at the doors/in the halls and card readers/buzzers/electric locks on all outside doors. The doors had sensors to let the office know if a door had been blocked open or if someone on the inside hit the panic bar to open the door. The card reader would open the door, let the person in. The buzzer would let them know someone wanted in and the camera would show them who it was, if they wanted to let them in they could push a button to electrically open the door or walk over to door and open it. No system is perfect. Ex Special Forces hall monitors would be a plus.
Everyone of the classrooms at the school I teach at open to the outside. All have full-length glass that one can easily step though after one shot to the glass. Our doors do not close properly, mostly they drag on the frame or the latches. I suspect our system will prioritize repair of our doors. I know that I will complain until something is done about my door. “Leave it shut” is not the answer I will accept.
There are no windows in that classroom in Uvalde.

Only way I can see her doing that is it was after they got the guy, or she works there. All the teachers would have locked their doors to their individual classroom and not let anyone in after the shooting started inside the building.

I don’t know if she’s telling the truth or not. But as a former teacher and a mother, her story could be true. During an active shooter or any other incident, the teachers and students are supposed to stay in the room and hide until law enforcement comes. Lock doors if you can. A town this size wouldn’t need a very large school, I would know exactly where my children might be at any time.
Now, the exterior doors should always be locked. The fact that they weren’t leads me to believe none of the doors were. She could have gotten in.

Recently, there was an active shooter drill at a military base near where I work. The funny thing is that while the base knew it was a drill, the local po-po did not know–they thought it was the real thing. And boy did they respond! Local police and Sherriff’s deputies came from every direction possible doing triple time–well in UNDER 12 minutes.
And there was never any hint that children were involved.

One thing I don’t understand is why at 11:43 and again at 1:06 Robb Elem. School told the parents via Facebook that the school was on lock down due to a shooter outside and that all staff and students are safe. They also told the parents not to visit the campus to pick up their kids until notified. Why was the communication of what was actually going on so screwed up and wrong. Did the police think that the school was secure at first, because that is what the school was telling parents.
It looks like they were in lockdown on March 9th and had either had a another lock down on March 31st or it was a “lock down” drill on March 31st.
They had an active shooter drill in March.
Ironically, the wife of the LEO that led the drill was one of the murdered teachers.

Perhaps the murders had already transpired and *some* of the LEOs were securing the crime scene to protect hysterical parents from the carnage? Wouldn’t that be a more realistic scenario?

I’m not sure if anyone has read this but a 4th grade teacher who was murdered protecting her students was married with four children of her own. Her husband of 26 years had a heart attack and passed away last night I believe.
Her husband was a police officer.
How much would it cost to put metal grates over all first floor windows, a sally port at each entrance/exit and arm/train a few willingly teachers? We can take back the $40 billion that politicians gave to Ukraine to fund this.

Just last week a newspaper in a neighboring town had photos of two cops who were being given some kind of lifetime prize for saving people in difficult situations.
One pulled a little kid out of a burning car and another did something equally as heroic, can not remember the details.

From minute-1 I thought there was more to this. I’ve been thru that part of the Country. This school is probably one of the few places that is a Gun Free Zone. These videos are a disgrace. And if I was an “official” , I’d hang my head in shame and move somewhere that no one knew me. DISGUSTING!
Speculating hints of a long delay before going in were circulating earlier on FNC and in some other news but the WSJ seems to have confirmed our worst suspicions.
I’ve had enough blessed years on this planet that confronting the shooter would not be as great or difficult a sacrifice for me as it would be for younger people but given the age of these school children and the teachers that were being massacred, it’s impossible to reasonably justify the long delay at any age.
One of the reporters yesterday, said that the Uvalde area is a mostly Democrat district. “IF” it was Dem politics that infected and restrained the police officers and left the children alone while they were being massacred it should become well known. Either way, the full truth must be revealed.

Is it just me, or does it seem like a set up?
In other words, were the police and Federal Marshalls there specifically to keep parents out, and to give the perpetrator time to rack up a body count?
This seems like gross incompetence, or cowardice, or complicity.
I realize there is a lot that is unknown right now, but thus sure seems squirrelly to me.
No disrespect intended for ANYONE, however, there seems to be an awful lot of comments here that do not appear to be substantiated.
Probably the DOJ in Texas should be the lead, but who knows if that DOJ is as corrupted as the one in DC.
Perhaps the Texas Rangers or US Marshals should “take over and coordinate” the investigation and report facts to the media.

The deceased childrens’ families deserve honest, factual and forthright answers.

I know we all try our best to support law enforcement under normal circumstances, especially since all the BLM/Antifa insanity in recent years. But sometimes it’s just real, REAL hard to “back the blue”.
It’s people on the right backing the blue that has led to this crap. Cops aren’t your friends and at best do the job for a pension. Most will follow any order to maintain their pension.
Oh believe me, I try to take every cop as an individual, some are good, some are bad. And while it’s important that they “follow orders”, that’s only up to a point. Many (most?) of them seem willing to do whatever they’re told to do, no matter how morally wrong it is. But unfortunately we’re sometimes forced to take sides when it comes to Antifa, BLM and their ilk. THEIR issues with the police is NOT the same as MY issues with the police, and I’ll never side with the scumbags in any way, shape, or form.
This tragic event is not turning into the gun grap tool they thought it would. The” law “enforcement the cabal hides behind is being exposed.

John, first, Uvalde is not a small town. It’s a county seat, with an area population of about 25,000. Have you seen any reports of sheriffs deputies on scene? And why are you assuming that feds can simply barge in on a local crime scene? From all indications, the Border Patrol officer was acting on his own initiative, and they have a checkpoint between Del Rio and Uvalde that accounts for their presence. It’s the US Marshals that are a red flag for a lot of us. They had no jurisdictional authority, and certainly should not have been overriding local law enforcement. I want to know where they came from, what they were doing in the area … all of it in exact detail. If they can’t give a compelling explanation, tens of millions of Americans will see this as another false flag.
