Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

who dat say who when I say who dat? Happy Caturday, y’all
Here kitty kitty, heh. I actually did see a black panther once north of Panama City FL. It took me a what seemed like a few seconds but must have been shorter to realize what I’d just seen. It was walking in a ditch, and I was elevated and behind a gated area… head, upper torso and tail. No one believed me until a local intervened and said there had been other sightings there.
Came face to face with a puma on a trail once too. Fortunately for me it was as startled as I was and jumped off the trail and got out of there.
Never been face to face with a mountain lion, although 15-20 years ago while walking in the back of the ranch my bride and I found a cat footprint in the mud, size of my hand with fingers bent. They are around.
My brother and I saw one while hunting in Tilden, TX (south TX). It’s head was level with the top of a 30 gal trash can, which was its target. It was 2:00-3:00am. Never forget it

Mr. Penniman
Sorry, guys. Got defeated by formatting again tonight. Sorry for the duble posting.
Happy Cursday, Treepers. People with big hearts devote their lives to saving lost and abandoned dogs. Not all efforts are successful. When I see these videos I always think about the lost and abandoned dogs (cats, too) who never find the love they obviously once had. Now that i am of a “certain age” I can’t help thinking about what happens to dogs left behind when people die without family—that’s something that happens a lot more than we might think. Imagine the feelings of loss and confusion when a loyal and loving dog or cat is left behind when their person dies . . . This where wonderful people like these sometimes—not always alas—but sometimes step in and work to provide good homes for lost and abandoned dogs and cats. People who do this are blessed . . .
So sweet. It reminds me of my old dog. She loves her baths too because she’s old and needs to be cleaned up. I’m so glad this guy got some love at the end.
For years and years all of our cats and dogs were foundlings who just “came” to us. Sometimes we found them on the street, sometimes they found us. All were wonderful, loyal and loving companions. Surprisingly, over the years our dogs all got along fine with our cats (t one time we had 7).
Love IS magical!
You are right—it is. 🙂
Nothing like bringing a rescue dog or cat home. And nothing like the folks at shelters who rescue them and then find these wonderful pets forever homes. God bless them, each and every one!
🙂
Wow Garrison, thanks for sharing this post. It’s a beautiful story, very inspiring.

How have I never heard of this guy Tom MacDonald before?
He really manages to have his finger on the pulse of current society.
Their minds stay closed
But their mouths stay open
Tom MacDonald’s music is encouraging because, idk, maybe he’ll change some minds.
Agreed, though me being older, his appearance is a bit disturbing. He does though have a lot of reach with younger people.
He just put out a new one, however his appearance is jarring. His lyrics though are based.
A commenter remarking on his demonic appearance and referenced Steve Deace’s, Nefarious Plot. Think I need to head to the library. It’s kind of like a modern Screwtape Letters.

WATER, BLOOD, AND SPIRIT CRYING
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three who testify: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and the three agree as one.
…
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
— 1 John 5:4-8, 13, WEB
I’m a fan of church music from the past — often the distant past. This hymn doesn’t fit the profile: It was written at the turn of this century. And I appreciate it very much.
The words are from Stephen Stark, a Lutheran pastor, who was born in 1955. I think I’ve read that the man has written 175 (!) hymns. I know that 32 of them are in our hymnal.
The music was composed by Dr. Jeffrey Blersch, a professor of music at Concordia University Nebraska and an organist at his home church (lucky church!). According to his faculty page, he has composed over 200 works.
Never listened to them, had to look them up, though I recognize the name from forever ago
They’ve been around since 1970

Building For Eternity
Which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it… —Luke 14:28
Our Lord was not referring here to a cost which we have to count, but to a cost which He has already counted. The cost was those thirty years in Nazareth, those three years of popularity, scandal, and hatred, the unfathomable agony He experienced in Gethsemane, and the assault upon Him at Calvary— the central point upon which all of time and eternity turn. Jesus Christ has counted the cost. In the final analysis, people are not going to laugh at Him and say, “This man began to build and was not able to finish” (Luke 14:30).
The conditions of discipleship given to us by our Lord in verses 26, 27, and 33 mean that the men and women He is going to use in His mighty building enterprises are those in whom He has done everything. “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple ” (Luke 14:26). This verse teaches us that the only men and women our Lord will use in His building enterprises are those who love Him personally, passionately, and with great devotion— those who have a love for Him that goes far beyond any of the closest relationships on earth. The conditions are strict, but they are glorious.
All that we build is going to be inspected by God. When God inspects us with His searching and refining fire, will He detect that we have built enterprises of our own on the foundation of Jesus? (see 1 Corinthians 3:10-15). We are living in a time of tremendous enterprises, a time when we are trying to work for God, and that is where the trap is. Profoundly speaking, we can never work for God. Jesus, as the Master Builder, takes us over so that He may direct and control us completely for His enterprises and His building plans; and no one has any right to demand where he will be put to work.

Most curious Betsy. These phrases come to mind…..hate the sin, love the sinner and honor your mother and father (family).
Thinking we aren’t supposed to put anyone higher than our Lord, remember to put our faith in God, and always do as Jesus tells us to God is the boss, Jesus is our project supervisor and we (all) are equal workers under him.
The above may just be the mad ramblings of a cat but the thought came to my mind when I read your question and reviewed Oswald again. 🤷♀️

No we’re not…but the use of the word hate really perplexed me. Luke is very specific.
And here is where we could really use TM, who left us. Darn the luck.
This day in 1942 the naval engagements of the battle of the Coral Sea begin. This battle was the first one in which aircraft carriers engaged one another and the first in history that the surface elements of two battle fleets at sea were never in sight of each other.
Though the US lost more tonnage, including the USS Lexington, sunk on the 8th, the battle was is judged a strategic victory of the allies because for the first time a Japanese advance had been thwarted and a Japanese fleet turned back from it’s objective which in this case was Port Moresby along the southern coast of New Guinea.
It would also effect future events. The Japanese fleet carrier Shokaku was damaged and the carrier Zuikaku’s air group was so depleted that it had to return to Japan to be reconstituted. So neither of these Fleet Carriers could take part in the attack on Midway.
This permanent marrying of air groups to specific aircraft carriers was a Japanese policy that would cost her through out the war until the Battle of the Philippine Sea (The great Marianas Turkey Shoot) which took place June 19-20, 1944 and which was the largest and last carrier against carrier battle in history.
The US would change and cycle air groups from carrier to carrier as needed. This allowed depleted or tired air groups to be exchanged for new fresh ones and provided for much more efficient use of the carriers.
The USS Lexington and USS Saratoga had been the test beds for Navy carrier aviation. The basic doctrines and procedures had been developed on these carriers during the 1930s. Even in death the “Lady Lex” provided a lesson.
Aircraft carriers were and still are essentially floating bombs. They must carry massive amounts of fuel and munitions to operate their aircraft and do so in a hull with virtually no armor protection. The flight decks of US carriers during WW II were made of wood and the aviation fuel the aircraft used was 100 octane gasoline!
Taking multiple bomb and torpedo hits the Lexington’s piping system that carried the aircraft fuel was broken in several places. The fuel ran down into the bilges and the fumes from it inundated the ship including it’s operating machinery. Inevitably it exploded dooming the ship.
The engineers understood that problem must be addressed and came up with a way to quickly purge the aircraft fueling piping of fuel and replace it with CO2. It was a trick the Japanese never caught onto.
Another way this battle effected future events to the advantage of the Allies was preventing the Japanese from taking Port Moresby. Port Moresby would later be the jumping off point for MacArthur’s campaign. The Japanese would later have to try and take it by attacking across land crossing over the formidable thick jungle of the Owen Stanley mountain range. A task they failed to do suffering severe losses to the Australian troops defending and even worse losses to malaria and a whole host of other tropical diseases.
Port Moresby would eventually have an allied air complex totaling 8 airfields from which operated US and Royal Australian Airforce aircraft in formidable numbers. It was from this complex that aces like Dick Bong and Tommy McGuire the two top American aces of WW II operated along with many different bombers. This air support and the growing number of allied troops that made New Guinea a bottomless pit for the Japanese forces trying to hold on to the island.
Nice comment – keep’m coming.
Just to add to that time period… my mom became acquainted with retired Navy CDR.. late 1950’s … he was aboard USS YORKTOWN when it was engaged in another “big” sea battle .. MIDWAY…took a beating and finally sunk..I was still in Navy so we communicated well..🤣🤣👍
Yorktown was seriously damaged at the Coral Sea but through massive efforts in which civilian contractors out of Pearl were still working on her as she sailed into harms way for the battle of Midway she was operational for that battle. She was so seriously damaged that the Japanese thought they had sunk her in that battle.
To arm Yorktown for service at the Battle of Midway Air group 5, hastily assembled from qualified pilots and available aircraft wherever they could be found was put aboard. Air Group 5 sank the Japanese carrier Soyru and later that day located the Hiryu, the last Japanese fleet carrier that remained afloat and took part in it’s sinking. Meanwhile the Japanese aircraft from the Hiryu concentrated their attack on the Yorktown. The Yorktown survived but was sunk, along with a destroyer along side her providing power and water for firefighting by a Japanese sub. Yorktown was of the same class as the most famous US Carrier, the Enterprise which went on to become the most decorated ship in US Naval history. When the Enterprise came home her homecoming pendant, 1 foot long for each day away, was so long that it took two helium balloons to keep it out of the water.
😀👍
Another problem with the Lex was that she was converted from a battlecruiser that was being built, but no longer acceptable to new treaty limits. Because of that not all of the damage was accessible.
In that time frame, to avoid having our aircraft destroyed by the many raids from Rubaul, we were keeping our bombers in Australia, flying them to Port Moresby for refueling and on to attack the Japanese then doing it in reverse back to Australia.
The Japanese did not give up. Later, they landed at the end of the Island. And again, they landed at Buna on the side opposite Port Moresby and attacked over the Mountains. The Aussies then pushed them back to Buna. Our troops joined in, (not too effectively), but we eventually learned and helped clear Buna and Gona.
Much of the next year and a half was consumed by fights along New Guinea and the various Islands nearby. So much of that is left out of descriptions of our carrier war.
The battles for Port Moseby were greatly influenced by the fight for Guadalcanal. The Japanese were resource limited, even in their massive expansion, sailing their fleet back and forth between Oceans to support the big grab. They were at the end of a long supply chain through Truk and Rubaul. Rubaul harbor was bombed enough that it was unsafe. The Japanese threw men and weapons in to the meat grinders at the end, but couldn’t support them. Especially were too late setting up supporting bases along the Solomons to support the units at Guadalcanal. By the time they realized, it was too late. They gave up on Port Moresby. Then they gave up on Guadalcanal.
It is actually fascinating to consider that both forces were fighting at far flung outposts with supply and resource problems. Not destroying the refueling and repairing facilities at Pearl was a serious mistake. That made the difference in all these early fights.
And, as a footnote. Four Japanese carriers were sunk on 25 October, 1944. Three light carriers and one fleet carrier, the Zuikaku, which you mention fought at Coral Sea. Halsey had taken the bait and was set to destroy all he could when he was shamed to return to Leyte Gulf. Carrier on carrier action. But as you point out, the earlier ‘Turkey Shoot’ showed that the Japanese carriers were no longer the force that fought in these early battles.
Great history lessons from both …
🇺🇸💪😀👍
First a side note of something I should have mentioned above. At the time of the Battle of Coral Sea the US lacked the signal intelligence it had enjoyed before and would enjoy again later that determined that Midway would be the target.
Commander Layton and his boys at Pearl were working feverishly because the Japanese had changed the vital code just before deploying their forces to attack and take Port Moresby.
Now on to the Lexington and Saratoga conversions. As you stated they were converted to aircraft carriers because of the stipulations of the 2nd Washington Naval Treaty. They were laid down to be Battle Cruisers. Battle Cruisers are large ships that carry battleship rifles, but have much less armor than a Battleship. Thus they are faster than battleships but carry a similar offensive punch. The HMS Hood, sunk by the Bismark was an example of the type.
Because they had been laid down to be fast large ships their propulsion machinery was of a new and expensive type called a Turbo-electric drive. This kind of drive system where the steam from the boilers drive a generator that provides electricity to huge electric motors that drive the shafts, was usually relegated to smaller vessels and in fact later in the war many Destroyers and Destroyer Escorts were built with various versions of this type of propulsion machinery.
The advantage of the turbo-electric drive is throttle response providing power to the shafts much more quickly than other steam driven systems. This made the Lexington and Saratoga very fast and responsive ships for their size.
To give you an idea of the amount of electric power the Lexington could generate, the Lexington was docked at Tacoma, WA in late 1929 when a drought compromised that cities primary electrical power source which was hydroelectric dams.
85 Years Ago USS Lexington (CV-2) Provides Power for Tacoma Christmas | Bremerton-Olympic Peninsula Council Navy League of the US (wordpress.com)
The Navy probably would have refused the request but the Lexington was new and this operation gave the engineers an opportunity to do dockside tests to determine just how much power the Lexington’s machinery could produce and test it’s endurance.
Yes it was a terrible mistake not to mount the third attack intended to strike those tanks. Still though, the US had to deal with getting the fuel to where it was needed. Despite the damages and sinking at Pearl by the time of the Guadalcanal campaign they had three of the old battleships in shape to deploy.
The most intense series of surface actions the US Navy ever endured was during the fight for Guadalcanal. So why were those three old Battle Wagons not used there? Simply because they were fuel hogs and the logistic support to keep them in fuel were not in place. Thus only the newer Battleships, USS Washington and S. Dakota which were not such fuel hogs were deployed to do battle during the fight for Guadalcanal.
Thank you, rah. My husband and I really enjoy your lessons in history. This should be Mandatory Lessons for students in every school in our country.
Your very welcome. Since I was about 7 years old I have been reading American history and in particular war history. Don’t know why. It just was what interested me.
For anyone visiting Honolulu, Punchbowl National Cemetery has large tile mosaics depicting the naval battles in the Pacific.
Made of small, colorful tiles, they include the Battle of the Coral Sea, Midway, and others. They are in the shade, within a beautiful marble monument.

On the road again. Doing the Toyota service parts KC run again. They can’t seem to keep dedicated drivers on this run even though the miles are pretty good. It is probably because of the double drop and hook at the Toyota facility and because we have so many runs going there things get screwed up when even one driver fails to meet the deliver schedule.
And once again, I go up to St. Jospeh, MO to pick up new dry car batteries to bring back.
Leave out at 01:00 Monday morning.
Rah, battery pickup in St. Joe..wouldn’t be the old Johnson Controls plant would it?
Yep! Now called Clarise or something like that and the destination for the batteries is the Johnson Control facility in Ft. Wayne, IN out by the airport.
I worked for them for some 33 years at another facility. Have been to the St. Joe plant a few times. Was one of the largest bat manufacturing plants in the company. And, Johnson Controls made the best battery in the market place until they got spun off to the current name.

How a Prominent Mexican Scientist Wound Up a Spy for Russia | The Scientist Magazine® (the-scientist.com)
Russia has big problems. They blackmailed a scientist to make him follow an FBI agent?
What a waste of a resource. With no known benefit to Russia.
But if this wasn’t done for Russia, it had to be done through Russian government. Blocking the bigamist’s family from leaving Russia. Etc.
Boy this is a corrupt world.
I actually think this is the real goal in the Ukraine vs Putin fight. A gang war for control of corruption in Russia. Starting a nuclear conflagration is high on the list, but where does that leave 10% for the Big Guy?
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.
Amen.

KENTUCKY DERBY DAY – MAY 7
KENTUCKY DERBY HISTORYThe Kentucky Derby’s first race took place on May 17, 1875. It was inspired by the Epsom Derby in England attended by the grandson of Meriwether Lewis Clark. In 1872, William Clark traveled to Europe and developed a taste for horseracing after his experiences at the Epsom Derby. Upon returning to the U.S., he pursued creating a Thoroughbred racetrack in Kentucky. In 1875, the Kentucky Derby was born in Louisville and has remained ever since.

Just wanted to correct some erroneous posts about Gates’ agricultural land.
He is reported to have about 242,000 acres.
As of 2017, there were about 900,000,000 acres of agricultural land in the USA.
That’s only 0.02689% of US agricultural land.
Gates is a megalomaniac bastard, but he doesn’t control US agricultural land.
Saw something once that claimed most govt checks for farmers go to Park Ave in NY, NY.
Gates would need really sharp elbows to take over all that farming control.
I mentioned taking flack from our side about – “What are YOU doing to make a difference?!” – and it fitting somewhat because I’m not taking on the local school board or the local churches or elected politicians……. but I also have to keep reminding myself what the New Testament says a Christian should do in life – including social life – especially in times like Paul + the first Christians faced under Nero… Does the Bible teach rolling up your sleeves + fighting the evil state head on….?
Ephesians 6
The Whole Armor of God10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [a]wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [b]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Galatians 5
Walking in the Spirit16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: [d]adultery, [e]fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, [f]murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Has anyone got any experience to share about vertical gardening? It would most likely be a DIY project. Trying to think of ways to maximize yield for the shorter KY growing season.
I’m fairly new but I did a little with pole beans + cucumbers + cherry tomatoes + cantaloupe.
Last year, I planted them along a yard fence-line that is wood posts with hogpen wire. It worked fine but was a little annoying having to walk around the outside to harvest some of the fruits.
This year, I took short rebar + pvc pipe to use as posts + leftover hogpen wire between them + staggered the seeds for each plant noted above on each side of the fence. So far, so good….
It’s a slightly simplified version of ideas from DIY videos on youtube from other backyard gardeners.
You can also try containers. I don’t have a lot of space + much of the yard is shaded by trees, so I made beds along the edge of the yard + do a lot with vegetables in pots which I can move around.
I saw some videos of individuals who built levels of shelves to create space for potted vegetables. One was basic – 2 used 5 gallon buckets with two boards between them as a shelf then more of the same above that — with pots of lettuce + onions + more sitting along the boards. I didn’t try that — but I’m having good luck with potatoes in 5 gallon bucks + potato bags….
Thank you, appreciate the comment. I have raised beds for greens, herbs, tomatoes and peppers. Need to keep stuff off the ground because our youngest dog (chiweenie) loves to tear things out of the ground and/or dig in the pots. I was thinking that I do have the post exposed side of privacy fencing available on 3 sides of the yard… I could do 8 foot runs and likely have ample space to keep it high enough so the dog wouldn’t bother it.
My dogs + cats don’t mess up the pots as much as raised beds or regular beds.
Here is a video on building a set up for 5 gallon buckets. It isn’t the multi-shelves like I remembered but might be good for your needs. You could elevate the platform any number of ways.
Myself, I’m not much of a builder + didn’t want to try using lumber to try a project like this + I had enough space to do the hogpen fence…. with the rebar + PVC pipe, I can also take it down out of season or relocate it as desired.
I did the same with the raised beds — using cinderblocks for the sides + planting the salad greens + stuff in the holes.

replace the [dot] with a .
I’d think a simple, cheap method would be to use cinderblocks + some kind of boards as shelves. Just something that would support the weight of the pots + plants.
I get a lot of production out of lettuce, spinach, baby choi, + green onions in smallish pots. I’m in Georgia – so I can easily move the greens into more shade as the summer heats up.
I had been overseas for years before settling down back home to be with my mom in her last years + wasn’t familiar with where in her yard got adequate sun due to all the trees in the yards.
Using cinderblocks + short rebar + pvc pipe to build raised beds with a frame to cover with greenhouse quality plastic gave me a whole lot of flexibility…
I could shovel up the dirt + move everything if needed + it was easy to make the beds bigger or smaller or wider + conform to the contours of the land far easier than using wood to build the frame. Plus, the cinderblock holes were great for the stuff that didn’t grow too big — and the pets couldn’t dig into them.
Lex KY here but good point about a system that yould allow for easily moving things into shade.
Thanks Iggyb. Appreciate it.
Hi Grrrrrrr…..you mean, I’m doing my gardening wrong, by laying horizontally? No wonder the weeds keep coming back 🤦♀️ 😂
Couldn’t resist the tease. 😘
While the frauds and criminals who now people the administration in Washington D.C. engineer narratives about the proxy war in the Ukraine in order to euchre ever more money out of the American taxpayer by way of PAC monies and no show jobs, the most important story in American history is unfolding. Look away, for just a moment from the shiny Ukraine object and gaze upon the epic tragedy unfolding now in our very own country. Our government, our media and Big Pharma (With the cooperation of “medical professionals”) is now, on an even keel with Pol Pot.
Even Lest Holt and NBC can no longer pretend that for the last 3 years, the Federal Government, BIG PHARMA and the Main Stream Media have engaged in premeditated, Mens rae, criminal intent, capital letter murder of Americans in search of profit.

The evidence is now, at hand and it is overwhelming. The vaccine is poison. As so eloquently stated in Robert Kennedy’s book (Suppressed in exactly the same way as Hunter’s laptop.) “The Real Anthony Fauci” and now corroborated with stats, witness’ testimony, thousands of peer reviewed studies, audio, video and the undeniable, incontrovertible evidence from legions of scientists, doctors and gadflies the truth is not “out there” it is “in your face”.

COVID Persists – What About the Vaccine?
COVID Persists – What About the Vaccine?Via Mercola COVID persists, but the COVID vaccine narrative has taken on so much water, the powers that be have …
Over the next 90 days or so, even die hard, ‘WEAR THE MASK OVER YOUR NOSE!” liberals will come to realize that they have been, by way of the Pharmaceutical created, Government mandated, Media assisted efforts, POISENED ON PURPOSE FOR PROFIT.
We lost 675,000 people to the Spanish Flu, 650,000 in the Civil War, 407,000 in WWII, 116,000 in WWI, 53,000 in Korea, 50,000 in Vietnam, 7,000 in Iraq, 5,000 in Iraq and now, according to reasonable estimates, 1,000,000 so far to our very own Government, Big Pharma and the Media.
All over America, in media and Big Pharma board rooms and government offices, there are frantic, frenetic efforts to engineer narratives that 2nd party the blame for this epic disaster.
The short blurb on, of all places, NBC by of all people, Lester Holt, admitting that the vaccine was not the perfect solution and that we could, as viewers, just maybe come to realize, that this was NOT a pandemic of the unvaccinated, but in fact, jsut maybe, it just might be possible that the “Clot Shot” was not only NOT a panacea, but in fact flat out dangerous, is very, very telling.
The Media, will now attempt to throw Big Pharma and the Government under the proverbial bus while like Pontius Pilate performing very public ablutions.
Don’t buy in. The Media took billions from the Government and Big Pharma to help get the vaccination rates as high as the balances in their checkbooks.
Americans with more than a cursory interest in the efficacy of the vaccines were well aware of this over a year ago.
Everyone in Big Pharma was aware of the problems and mortal outcomes 2 and 1/2 years ago.
The Federal Government was aware of this 1 1/2 years ago and in spite of the fact that you may hate the folks at CNN, or FOX, or the major Affiliates, they are not stupid, they too, were aware of the ongoing genocide a year ago, just like you were.
I have game this out in every scenario I can think of and I have no idea, where this goes from here. My guess, is, chaos.
This was a song all Zonians can relate to….our never ending summers…as politics and lives changed, growing up, we clung to this song.
Interesting article…

here is a slightly biased article (Zonians did not live in the lap of luxury).

But for those who don’t know, Zonians are a real entity. And if our parents were government employees as opposed to military, we were a cocky bunch as our dads did not have to worry about a hierarchy going after them or their jobs…The Canal could not operate with out our parents and their high level engineering skills. yeah that freedom thingy, in the DNA!
Ah, different times, wonderful memories…
