Consider this sketchy right now. Politico is reporting they have “obtained” a draft copy of the Supreme Court majority opinion which would reverse Roe -v- Wade federal abortion law and return the decisions on abortion law to the individual states. {Uploaded Draft pdf Here}
While it is 98-pages, it is only a draft opinion. The decision of the individual judges could change at any time based on their view of the severity of the outcome, wording and other inputs that would be provided. A draft opinion from internal deliberations has never, ever, been leaked before from inside the supreme court; and that alone should send warning flags to everyone.
Personally, I doubt any draft from February would be pertinent today. This entire scenario just sounds massively sketchy.

The draft opinion runs 98 pages, including a 31-page appendix of historical state abortion laws. If they limited decision to only MS and 15 weeks….then another state will come in with 14 weeks. Then another will come in at 13 weeks. There will be all kinds of related limits (who can perform abortions, do they need hospital admittance associations, waiting times, informed consent, etc.
All these things going to SCOTUS. Do they want to have to decide all these issues, limits, etc?

I am sure that it was leaked by some left wing member who got one of the SCOTUS law clerks, aids, or secretaries to leak it to promote a left wing agenda and further anti-Supreme Court sentiment. Probably trying to get Congress to pass a law to permit abortion through birth or trying to cause widespread violent protests. Maybe it will cause some deranged person to kill one or more of the justices so Biden can nominate more radicals.

There is no dissent or concurrence in the draft. Unless they get 100% solidarity among the five more reliable conservative justices, this may not be close to the final holding. You for sure get three n the dissent, but you may not get all five to agree on every part of this.
We all need to pray that these justices will have the strength and courage to withstand threats and not change their ruling.
I’m not really buying that they released this NOW to rile up the rabid progressive left. The final ruling was to be released two months from now- in July, which is a lot closer to November than May. They could have had riots from July through October if they had waited, ruining the 4th of July for everyone. It could’ve been so terrible that they could declare martial law and delay the election.
i think they really did this now to threaten the justices to change their ruling. But if they do, the SCOTUS will set themselves up for all time to be threatened by rabid lefties. They should not back down one inch on this.
final rulings are typically released over the entire month of June…they take July-Sept off to beat the summer DC heat
In a sane world, POLITICO would be put out of business for publishing a leak which does so much
damage to the US Supreme Court and our republic. They had a choice, could have, and should have declined to publish, but
obviously went with the “story.” News organizations make decisions every day not to run stories for a multitude of reasons. Facilitating the destuction of one of the longest running traditions of court procedure is reason enough not to run a “story” about an already outdated, draft opinion, on a case which Politico and everyone else fully knows is never final or binding until the formal opinion is actually announced by the Court.
The Press didn’t cover Wilson’s infirmities, FDR’s frailties, JFK’s infidelities, and innumerable other aspects of American political events for decades, albeit seemingly always with a view toward protecting Democrats and liberal causes.
Politico will say, if it weren’t us, someone else would have done it. Still doesn’t make it right. And who knows, maybe
others would not have, because, despite ephemeral advantages to be won, most still have some principles which guide them.
This event marks an extreme low water mark for journalistic integrity, or, more properly stated, the extreme lack thereof.
The damage done, the focus must turns to a proper response. First, in whatever way Politico can be made to pay: public shaming, stop clicking on any stories from it, relentlessly mentioning the phrase “lowest journalistic watermark in American history” with “Politico” whenever possible, etc. Essentially, let’s put Politico firmly into the journalistic Hall of Shame along with the rest of the others welll known to us.
Second, it is another chance to get the messaging right about the Pro Life Cause, and why killing the unborn is wrong. Effective pols will say that while the leak is not the decision of the Court, if this were to be the decision of the court when formally announced, then that would be a welcome development for our country, which polls repeatedly show is already overwhelmingly pro-life, pro mother, pro family, pro children, and that we as a society can and will really work to help women and men facing crisis pregnancies with medical assistance, financial assistance, adoption services, counseling, mentoring support for fathers and mothers, housing, prayer, job services, you name it. In short, it is a time to double down on an authentic Love Response, and to do so in the complete opposite fashion of the Haters on the Left toward unborn children, and women and men in their most acute time of need, and to do so without judgment, recrimination, or hate, but with compassion and love, when they need it most and the lives of the unborn hang in the balance.

They will make it THE issue for the mid term elections. They are desperate and have nothing to run on. It also fires up their base. Completely planned and done on purpose. The SC has been irrelevant for some time. Waiting to see what spineless Roberts does.
As Sundance suggests and Chef Skinner stated in Ratatouille, “This is HIGHLY SUSPECT.” This appears to be a “Hail Mary” by imbedded RATs in the SCOTUS to give them something to raise money on and run on in November. They have NOTHING else. The Democrat Party has been embarrassed and humiliated beyond belief by the DAILY REALITY that is the Biden presidency.

These zombies are going to do something really stupid and people are going to get hurt – but that’s on them. Our babies need to go back to states rights, this violation of the establishment clause needs to be amended – should have been done decades ago.
It IS a “rallying cry” for libs, to GOTV, and for fundraising, to say the SCOTUS is “in danger” and hence Abortion is “in danger” if the Repubs get in power.
Rediculous, cause the Repubs controlling Congress have no real desire to curb abortions, but both sides use Abortion as a “wedge” issue.

I completely agree with your conclusion of desperation on the part of the left. In fact I used the term “rally” in a text message to a broadcaster I know (and you may too) last night.
I’m also wondering if this is meant to be a distraction. The left is always up to something that’s not good for America. I’ve got my thinking cap on at the moment.
