Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signs today: (1) the new FL congressional map that creates four new GOP leaning districts; (2) a bill to remove Disney’s special districting exemption status; and (3) the “Stop Woke Act,” a bill banning discrimination, woke indoctrination and Critical Race Theory in schools, universities, and corporations.
Do not miss the context for these events today, because both the venue and the participants tell a story. The public event was held in Hialeah Gardens, Florida, a predominantly Latino community. Standing alongside DeSantis was Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez and a host of Latino political officials.
All of the sentiment surrounding the Disney gender and sexuality confrontation, in combination with the Woke Act effort, are widely supported by the Hispanic and Latino communities in Florida. Traditional family values are strong in the Latino community. This has been an ongoing issue for the Democrat Party overall, and in 2022 the leftists in the party have ostracized the overwhelming majority of the Latino vote. WATCH:
FLORIDA – “No one should be instructed to feel as if they are not equal or shamed because of their race,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “In Florida, we will not let the far-left woke agenda take over our schools and workplaces. There is no place for indoctrination or discrimination in Florida.”
“By signing this legislation, which is the first in the nation to end corporate wokeness and Critical Race Theory in our schools, we are prioritizing education not indoctrination,” said Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez. “We will always fight to protect our children and parents from this Marxist-inspired curriculum.” (Press Release)
Full Video Below:
Additionally, while confronting the leftist ideology of Disney Corp, the Florida governor said the company was aiming to “inject sexuality” into its content, and he was not “comfortable having that type of agenda getting special treatment in my state.” “That partnership that developed early on with Walt Disney — I don’t think Walt would appreciate what’s going on with this company right now,” DeSantis said. “I’m sorry.”
.
Fighting the ” Tragic Kingdom “
I have found an inexhaustible source of power: strap a dynamo to Walt’s and Roy’s bodies in their graves. I’m glad they aren’t alive to see this. 😓 Is there still a Disney heir who actually still gives a damn about these patriarchs and their values? Anyone who wants to step up to rescue this company? If so, I look forward to their shareholder lawsuit. Maybe they’ll consent to be CEO … “Lo, how the Mouse has fallen.”
So long groomers!!
The USA has nothing to offer Floridians other than more pain and misery. The Biden Administration sees Florida as an enemy and Florida should not remain subjects of the USA.
DeSantis should make history by investigating Florida as a breakaway republic, where the Florida Supreme Court has the final say in state matters.
We already fought the Civil War in this country. The only state that can legally break away is Texas. Most Americans are against this woke agenda oh, we just need to get them to vote to bring our country back to sanity. Calling for a state to break away from your own country is not the solution.
Every state can legally break away from the Constitution by repealing their ratification law. 9 of the original 13 states had in their ratification law a clause that said they can leave the union when the federal government becomes tyrannical.
Virginia Ratification
“WE the Delegates of the people of Virginia, duly elected in pursuance of a recommendation from the General Assembly, and now met in Convention, having fully and freely investigated and discussed the proceedings of the Federal Convention, and being prepared as well as the most mature deliberation hath enabled us, to decide thereon, DO in the name and in behalf of the people of Virginia, declare and make known that the powers granted under the Constitution, being derived from the people of the United States may be resumed by them whensoever the same shall be perverted to their injury or oppression, and that every power not granted thereby remains with them and at their will: that therefore no right of any denomination, can be cancelled, abridged, restrained or modified, by the Congress, by the Senate or House of Representatives acting in any capacity, by the President or any department or officer of the United States, except in those instances in which power is given by the Constitution for those purposes: and that among other essential rights, the liberty of conscience and of the press cannot be cancelled, abridged, restrained or modified by any authority of the United States.”
Want to guess who helped pen that law? Here’s a hint… He helped write the Constitution and is known as the Father of the Constitution. If you guess James Madison you would be correct.
Add in the fact that the Organic Act of 1789 enshrined into federal law the Declaration of Independence there is now rock solid constitutional protection to alter or abolish the government as per the 9th and 10th Amendments of the Bill of Rights.
No, a black robed moron does not change the legal fact of the matter. All political power is derived from the consent of the people. A judge cannot abridge that right either. That’s why every state constitution states this legal fact in their bill of rights.
New England considered seceding during the War of 1812, and no one contested their rate to do so…
Thomas Jefferson’s response to the threat of secession by New England in 1801 is in his inaugural address.
We are all republicans: we are all federalists. If there be any among us who would wish to dissolve this Union, or to change its republican form, let them stand undisturbed as monuments of the safety with which error of opinion may be tolerated, where reason is left free to combat it.
The general consensus by both groups of founding fathers was that the Constitution was a contract not a suicide pact. Contracts can be modified and even ended. That’s exactly what they fought the War of Independence for.
Awesome response!
“We already fought the Civil War in this country.”
Yeah, and we certainly do not want another one. I calculated out how many lives it would cost population adjusted and came up with over 6 million people.
You must assume it can be saved. I say it has passed the point of no return and Florida must jettison itself to save her. We have fraudulent elections so there is no ballot box solution. Florida can leave with a list of grievances that need to be corrected in order to return.
Florida can save lives and prevent another civil war. Somebody has to make a move and say games are over.
Any state that wants to do this should first declare independence from the fedgov revenue-sharing. Its like an opiate, and gets you hooked. Then use the state depts. to reform education, Medicaid, no grants to sheriff for militarized equipment, nada.
This SHOULD be what we expect from all of the GOP.
I love my Governor. I am beginning to think more red districts will be an easier battle to win rather than arguing to rid the State of Black Box vote tabulators. It still bothers me that we have the Machines. He should take a look at our medical cannabis law. The State is making millions licensing products that render patients nearly completely unemployable, as per the Amendment the RINOs allowed The Partnership For A Drug Free America(now The Partnership To End Addiction) to write. Based in St. Pete, this organization is wholly funded by Big Pharma. The State shouldn’t make one red cent as long as weed is Schedule 1.
Medical marijuana is just the camels nose under the tent. Within 3-5 years recreational cannabis will be legal in Florida- and everywhere. That is where the problems really start to mount up. Just look at Colorado – it is becoming unlivable.
I am a chronic pain patient, have been for 29 years. I have inoperable back issues. I cannot take opiate medications because of pancreatitis. I cannot take NSAIDs because of stomach lining damage. I am not in favor of recreational weed. I have seen what it has done to Oregon, Washington and most definitely Colorado in my search for decent medicine, not a buzz. I believe the negative effects kick in the more you use the plant as a party drug. Regulated cannabis only emboldens the Black Market. If everyone in every State could grow it the value would become nil, and the novelty would wear off, and the majority would get sick of it.. The bigger deal the Gov’t makes about it, the bigger deal it’s going to be. The system here in Florida is horrible. The “Medicine” is sub par and astronomically expensive. And good luck finding a decent paying job.
They gubmint wants their roughly 20% tax $ from it too.
That’s what all the taxes add up to for rec cannabis in massachusetts
My buddy owns a rec outlet in MA. A lot of people are being driven away with the high cost and going back to black market
Yep.
Big Box Weed sucks.
You have not used the black market which was all I had until 2 months ago, prices are way cheaper. Drug is doing what it is supposed to do for me sorry not working for you. Hoping recreational does not happen in Fl.
Illicit weed is packaged by idiots who package up fentanyl as well leading to cross contamination, I don’t feel like being a statistic. Nor should I have to break the law when over 70% of voters voted for Medical Bud.
Unfortunately, many people will not grow tired of marijuana use anymore than alcohol. While there are legitimate conditions that can benefit, those are few and far between. This is how abortion was sold, for those victims of rape and incest. Sweeping legalization is detrimental to human life.
Roughly 7 million people a year die Worldwide from alcohol related problems, I was almost one of them. Cannabis is not a direct dopamine agonist like hard drugs such as nicotine, booze, meth, mdma, coke and opiates. Don’t lump the one thing left that keeps me from “painting the ceiling” because of 24 hr a day pain in with child sacrifice. How many years could you take feeling like someone stuck a flathead screwdriver in between your vertebrae, and every now and again gave it a nice little twist??
As I stated, there are some conditions that can benefit and perhaps I should have been more specific that you seem to be in that category. The vast majority are not. Perhaps you have not witnessed the destruction of perpetual, habitual use. I have and it destroys families and innocent bystanders.
This is a topic, like abortion, that has 2 very opposing sides. It is doubtful one side will make sense to the other. Matters not since we have crossed the rubicon. I continue to pray for our children.
I counsel folks part time for substance abuse. Weed is not going anywhere. Abortion should be gone like yesterday.
CBD, cannabidiol, does not contain the psychoactive component of marijuana, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). CBD is derived from the hemp plant which is related to the marijuana plant.
US Patent 6630507 – The US Government’s Cannabis Patent
It is also a built in “antidote” to THC. It will bring someone out of a THC edible induced “freakout”.
.
Read your reply before it was deleted. Lots of things grow in nature, but not all are harmless. Foxglove, some mushrooms and berries are just a few examples.
I seem to recall in recent years catastrophic train wrecks caused by operators under the influence of pot. It impairs judgement and reactions. It causes alteration in brain functions and in long term use, not always reversible. That is just fact.
As I previously stated, the two opinions will not be reconciled.
I’m sorry that you have such pain. 😞
Youth Football has severe consequences.
The reality is:
Cannabis causes unemployment.
I have watched many good people lose their jobs because of it.
Drug testing at work is done before hiring and after any accident.
Cheech and Chong is not funny after you have lost your job and home because of pot.
Pot stays in the blood long after the STUPID paryting.
Pot caused an increase in traffic accidents after states legalized it. FACT
Weed accentuates what ever traits a person already has in my experience. If you are a lazy dumbass, weed will NOT make you Governor Desantis. I busted my ass running my own business in the Florida heat with reefer in my system got a daughter through welding school after she saw off the bat College wasn’t her thing and I am about to send my nephew to Florida Poly on academic scholarship. I am against using a medicine as a party drug. Either it helps you or it doesn’t.
Agree. Nobody should abuse anything. No one should pollute their body. But there are so many things we do that are damaging. Just look at what white sugar does to your system.
So in actuality, the drug testing is what caused the loss of employment. Not the weed.
CBD oil would be preferable (available with THC) and easier on the lungs. Even available as gummies. I wish there were investors interested in growing hemp for the MANY uses of this product.
I learned to make whole flower brownies when I lived in Oregon. Eating it is the only thing that helps me.
I had a visit from a friend yesterday that grows legal hemp in New York State. It is certified by the state, and he makes all kinds of products with it…CBD oil, gummy’s, salves.
I have never smoked pot, never smoked tobacco for that matter.
The illegal “Pot” trade here in British Columbia resulted in numerous homicides.
It is now legal, and it appears that the novelty has worn off.
The store on a local Indian Reserve is busy, the one in town too. But far, far less so than the liquor stores.
As to the expense, a guy I am friendly with pays $7.00 ( Can) for something that lasts him a few evenings.
He is an anxious guy, and has a puff or two before bed.
When I was working, a lot of the “ stuff” we came across had been laced with “ the crystal “ ( meth)
That was killer..
Cheers!
Thank You, D, for the insight from a place that has already had it cannabis “growing pains”..
My 91 yr mother is helped enormously by her “special” gummies. She was manipulated into taking the damned shot and now she has a bad heart and stroke damage. Which of you would condemn her to suffer w/o them?
Not this guy. But the people who wrote our Amendment sure would! The high cost in this State means seasoned citizens on fixed incomes cannot access the plant, leaving all those Medicare/Medicaid dollars intact for Big Pharma!
They want society “dumb and doped”.
The Russians did that mostly to their men. Vodka—-super cheap.
All cannabis users are not Created Equally.
I smoked it like a fiend when I was young, Preferred it to drinking. I had to quit when I got a com.dr.lic.. Fast forward 45 years,3 different types of cancer, Had surgery, lost some parts, fixed the cancers, I took gummies 1 a day for several months. quit the opiates and slept well and relaxed. I see nothing wrong here at all. I could of done it with bourbon but Dr. told me to limit my alcohol intake to a bump or 2 a week. I now longer work and have no issues. Not everyone wants to get high as a kite but maybe to relieve stress..
“All cannabis users are not Created Equally.”
TRUE,
But, none of them can pass a drug test and many sweet bullets over mandatory drug testing.
So how many States make how many hundreds of millions of dollars rendering their populace unemployable because of the plants Schedule 1 status, M8? How many Red States?
Correct! How many Florida republicans with CCW’s or legallly owned firearms are in the Medical Use Registry? Is the Governor ok with the Health Dept. profiting off de facto gun control??
Sad when possessing a beneficial seed bearing herb is the ONLY thing to make “criminals” of too many.
Had the weed smokers taken back their rights as violently as the drinkers did during prohibition,
RE-legalizing would not even be an issue.
The DEA is an offshoot of the federal reserve. Which technically is NOT GOV’T.
“The empower wears no clothes” by Jack Herrer is an excellent resource for some clarity on the subject.
Yes! That’s why fentanyl is the number one cause of death in 18- 45 year olds.
Those deaths, every single one, are a DIRECT result of U.S. Gov. policies,…
No, not just the open border, allowing fentanyl in.
No, not how Big Pharms was allowed to push Oxycontin/Vicodin out, lieing to Dr’s that it wasn’addictive, getting many patients (like Rush) addicted, and THEN “cracking down” (thru the FDA) so those addicted patients were “cut off” and so driven to buying black market heroin, hence the fentanyl.
No, theres MORE; the “noble lie” and early propoganda.
When the FBNDD (Fed Buerue of Narcotics/Dangerous Drugs was created, they faced a challenge.
MJ was “easy” as MJ is a weed, and its only purpose other than get high, is rope.
So, making it illegal to possess, grow or even have seeds, was easy.
However, POPPIES not so much. Poppies are THE most popular ornamental flower, for gardens; won’t find a garden photo in House and Gardens, that doesn’t have poppies in it.
But wait, theres MORE; severeal ethinic recipes have poppie SEEDS, as a KEY ingredient.
But wait, theres still MORE; A hobby/craft, 100’s of years old, is “dried flower arrangements” and a key centerpiece is poppie seed pods, usually cracked open with seeds spilling out.
So, they couldn’t make it illegal to possess, grow or possess poppie seeds, too much “push-back”,..
So, they came up with a noble lie, which you have probably heard and believe.
“Only a CERTAIN TYPE of Poppie, that grows at very high altitudes, in Afghanistan, Turkey and Mexico can be used to produce Opium.”
Ever wonder how it is, that eating a poppie seed roll, just before taking a drug test, can result in a “false positive”?
If they only knew, those poor bastards addicted to Oxy, and then “cut off” only need to take up gardening,..cut the seed pod, when the flower blooms, and collect the sap after 24 hours,…or dry the plant, grind it up and make tea.
And yes, it will “relieve pain and anxiety”, (and make your pupils constrict),..but, impossible to O.D. from smoking opium or drinking the tea, as you will simply go to sleep, before being able to consume enough to O.D.
ILLEGAL to harvest the poppies that grow along the highways in California, (State flower, dontcha know, lol).
Illegal to grow poppies FOR THE PURPOSE OF making opiates, is what the law actually stipulates.
So, shhh,…don’t TELL anyone.
It was legal to grow poppies here in Florida until Rick Scott finally clamped down on the Opiate Medication Prescription “Loophole”(13 years, 3 RINO administrations too late) that allowed my Beloved State to spawn the current Opium War we find our selves in. There are also hundreds of thousands of San Pedro cacti growing all over Florida that can possess more mescaline than peyote, perfectly legal.
Weed was also made illegal because the black and brown folks were fond of it.
No WONDER mom fed us poppy seed roll growing up! She needed a break from us. Lol
A soma a day keeps the doctor away.
Totally agree aggie.
You know that sensation you felt when the Eastern slope and the Denver Metro population boom happened after weed went legal and rents went up like rocketships? Well that is happening to Florida. Not all newcomers are Freedom loving MAGAs, in fact the Commiefornians are coming here in droves. So, in the end, we are being swamped by undesirables like you folks saw in the Green Rush.
S. FL is infested with the crassest, crudest, rudest, dumbest low-lifes I’ve ever seen. And that’s WITHOUT weed.
It won’t be 10 years they are working on it now. Most medical customers are in their 50’s to 70’s yes a customer. It’s all PERSONAL RESPONSIBITITY Stop blaming the laws or the drugs it all starts and stops with you. You know my home is filled with food but I am not fat same thing, personal choices.
Any person looking for a job should know they cannot test positive for drugs and stop before looking for a job, if they don’t have a job what do you care whether they are employable or not? It all comes down to one thing doesn’t it.
If I had an active oxycodone ‘script, I would have been hired at the last 15 positions whose interviews went swimmingly until they found out I had a weed card.
Actually, using that “logic” and propaganda is the slippery slope of government control and TYRANNY! It should be RE-LEGALIZED as it was only made illegal after the government/corporation/chemical push of 1937 and their newly created MONOPOLY!
“Some of my finest hours have been spent on my back veranda, smoking hemp and observing as far as my eye can see.” – Thomas Jefferson
How about if we look at another place that is not plagued with Democrat ideologies plaguing a once great city and state? Oh, let’s try Portugal which decriminalized ALL “drugs”. … some facts as of 13TH MAY 2021
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The truth can set you free.
Stop robbing me and making me YOUR slave as you demand Nanny Government step in, rob me, and remove non-violent offenders into a prison system I am forced to pay for against my will so you can virtue signal how good you are while holding slaves and creating violent criminals in a system you feed.
What you are asking is not legal, it is over reach even by the current corrupt federal standards as hemp can be grown locally and never sold or cross state lines removing the “Commerce” claim the government has expanded to control EVERYTHING!
Please, stop believing lies and stop feeding the beast. It does not, and never had, your interests in mind when they usurp illegal powers. Only your compliance and their control.
I do not know about you, but I am tired of corrupt government that has usurped everything to expand their illegal “powers” that were never allowed in the specific intent of the Constitution.
Spot on.
Here Here !
It already is what we expect. The problem is that’s not what we’re getting. They will all claim to be MAGA until they get in office but only a few will practice what they preach.
They do it every.single.time.
And this is why we must act sooner or later, they won’t, we will have to or nothing will ever change.
Look, there have always been TWO Republican parties, ever since I started voting in 1968… Country clubbers, and grassroots. Never the twain shall meet. And they hate each other.
We need our own big org to headhunt, recruit, and FUND our own candidates, but run them as Pubbies.
We have to recruit them with MAGA professional headhunters…We can’t rely on people to volunteer, or have the RINOs choose for us. And the headhunters have to be SHARP, and well PAID.
We must self-fund, outside of the odious Winred, to pay for staff, and professionals, and PAC money for canfidates. Half the 80 million 2020 Trump voters, at $5/month on autodebit, with an honest bank and sharp, professional fundraiser, will give us $200 million PER MONTH.
With that, we can be our own non-RINO party/PAC, and never have to rely on RINOs or party apparatus again. Back that up with lots of local precinct committeemen to keep the RINOS from throwing a wrench in works, and to assure the right votes at county and state conventions.
We MUST do this. There’s no other way. A third party is impossibly divisive and expensive to set up. Trust me, I saw the whole Perot thing in real time.
Must.
And we didn’t have to hound him, either. The rest of the GOP you have to hound them and then they ignore it and don’t act.
It IS what we expect. It is NOT what most of the GOP delivers.
Alabama governor Kay Ivey? MIA again.
Now Disney can pay their ‘fair share’ in taxes, too!
To be fair, they may have higher losses now do to an unforeseen downturn in tourist traffic.
However, 60% of their business is from people with no children!!
And the other 40% is from people preying on them.
Go woke, go broke. Downturn in traffic for Disney? Boo hoo hoo.
That was part of their target market, late teens and early 20 somethings, in revamping their business model.
Win Win.
DeSantis’ Office Releases Examples Of Rejected CRT-Inspired Math Textbooks
https://dailycaller.com/2022/04/21/desantis-examples-critical-race-theory-textbooks/
Maybe some perverts will leave Orange County. Any Treepers still trapped there should do a sex offender search on their phones if they haven’t already. The results are shocking.
I luv it when the left is losing.
I wish I could move to FL and help them secede from the Union.
Me too. FLA isn’t big enough to accommodate all of the folks who want out of blue states and move to a more honest, receptive political climate as FLA is. Interesting though, the Maskaholic, liberal neighbor next door, wants to move to FLA, but won’t until they “…vote in a better governor”. 🙂
That’s what concerns me, people who want to come to Florida with the crap ideologies of the state they are leaving.
Indeed. I call it the Dumbasspora.
We’re here and we see/feel a noticeable increase in traffic, not to mention bad drivers. A lot of New Yorkers. Met a group of them on the beach, who talked about the numbers of them leaving that state. And, the fact that real estate there is elevated is more reason why home prices here are so elevated. They come down with plenty of money to buy.
Friends in SC say there is a similar dynamic taking place there too. To be expected.
I wish more States could find their own DeSantis.
That would be the best!
Yes, we need so many more, that Desantis doesn’t stand out, as being anything exceptional.
Az is looking to get one, in Kari Lake, she is unabashedly MAGA, as well as a class act.
Definetly NOT a Rino, trying to act MAGA.
WE need MAGA Governors, WITH supportive State legislatures; in Az. it is the Republicans in the State Legislature that arevin leadership positions, that are Rinos.
A MAGA Gov. NEEDS a Legislature to back him up; Desantis HAS that, and its CRUCIAL.
All conservatives welcome!
All 20+ GOP states should have guvs and legislatures with guts to stop compromising with evil, anti-US, anti-free enterprise and anti-Const. Dem baloney. Thank God for Ron and hopefully even some mod Dems will re register GOP and end the communist nee socialist WOKE idiots all over the nation.
New York map rejected
“The 2012 map created 19 Democratic districts and eight Republican seats. The current map will have one less seat due to New York’s loss of population. But this new map would have cost Republicans five seats. Does this mean that in a state with 27 congressional districts only three Republicans will be allowed to serve?”
https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/rick-moran/2022/04/22/court-rules-that-new-yorks-rabidly-partisan-redistricting-map-was-improperly-gerrymandered-n1591941
Now that’s the way.
Crush your enemies.
Liking this guy more and more.
“Conan, what is best in life?”
MAGA Conan:
“Crush your enemies.
See them driven before you.
And hear the lamentation of the liberals.”
The double bonus is that DeSantis just put all corporations in FL on notice. They’ve overstepped their boundaries & can also be stripped of any applicable preferential treatment.
Winning in FL!
Exactly. Corporations are ‘free’ to opine, and even lobby for legislation “in their wheelhouse” i.e. that has a direct effect on their “bottom line”.
But, when they jump on the “woke bandwagon” and champion or denigrate legislation which ISN’T about their bottom line, in order to show how “woke” they are, they need to know its gonna COST them.
Will there be a stockholders lawsuit, against the Board?
Sadly… there’s no such thing as moral clarity when it comes to making 💰💵. That’ll only happen if investors lose painful large amounts of 💰💵.
I hope for both.
This is how you win. Offense. Defense doesn’t win games. Offense does. The Uniparty and GOPe don’t care but we do. If it’s GOPe don’t elect it. Elect solid people like FL has. Good job Florida!
Exactly right.
If you want to win, ya gotta fight.
Enough strongly worded letters.
We came VERY CLOSE to losing Desantis, and getting Gillum. And there were millions of out of state money pouring in, as with Beto and SC.
I know Florida needs DeSantis, but a Trump/DeSantis ticket sounds so good in 2024!
That would rock!
I want Scorched Earth
No Haley.
No Noem.
Or any other wimp ass GOP plant.
Can you imagine the training opportunity that ticket would present to DeSantis?
Seriously.
Think of all the good things for the country he could do when Trump leaves office, and the knowledge he could gain along the way to make those good things happen.
Trump has a spine.
DeSantis has a spine.
The republican party as a whole, meaning those in power, are almost as allergic to having a spine as the democrat party.
The problem is the democrats will fight harder to DESTROY this country than the republicans will to SAVE it.
And, ironically enough, democrats willingly answered in a poll that if this country were invaded by a hostile military, they would not stay and fight. But republicans would.
So why won’t republicans in power actually, you know, FIGHT for what’s right, RIGHT NOW?!?
Trump will and does. And now, obviously, so does DeSantis.
I like Desantis right where he is; he shows just how much Federalism matters; we are where we are, in part because State governors and Legislatures have not pushed back against Federal overreach.
I think I would prefer Trump/Trump in 2024; the only one PDJT can trust, to be his running mate, and talk about an apprenticeship.
Don Jr?
While not “Natural Born,” let the clowns that slobber over Obama object.
Let the clowns who installed anchor baby raised in Canada Harris cry.
Trump/Palin
she is younger true conservative a fighter who would back our 45th
Remember that the GOPe will always try to mute the effect of a popular, conservative president, by inserting a poison-pill VP into the campaign. Bush/Reagan, Pence, etc.
DeSantis is getting national stuff right where he is. Being a VP would be a waste of his effectiveness.
Exactly!
He’s a real-time training for Americans on what they should EXPECT fr/ their Governors.
>>> Just remember, a good Governor goes exactly *nowhere* with a lousy Legislature.
So get serious and start demanding and voting for BOTH in all the States.
D.C. wouldn’t be nearly the problem it is if the individual States would just get their acts together.
DeSantis and the FL. Legislature are the examples we need right now to get this going in other States.
Why would you waste this guy on D.C. when he’s got another term as Gov. of FL.?
Bingo!
Pie in the sky but I still like Trump/RFK Jr. Particularly after the WHO/CDC bull spit.
That would be epic and head’s would explode. 2 white nationalists, misogynists, homophobe, trans phobe, woman haters, anti science, climate change deniers….
RFK fudges on a lot of stuff, to be honest.
RE Hispanics/Latinos…many have worked for me in construction management and construction.
They are hard working, family oriented, attend church and are appreciative for the opportunity. They are against the influx as they feel wages will drop for them, hurting their families.
As a sidebar…they do not consider a woman a serious candidate for office. It’s in their blood. I have had 0 whites or blacks in the same role.
Smart move by DeSantis and it’s driving the left crazy.
I have found the same in running my business here.
Family means everything, they love their kids, believe in education, and will perform their craft with workmanship.
Natural conservatives.
I was surprised when my mother, who is obviously a woman, objected to Palin running because she had so many young children. Mom thought she should stay home and raise her children.
So I would guess some of the older generation, just innately, don’t consider a woman a serious candidate.
It’s about time to turn Disney back into a swamp. That’d be some environmental protection I could get behind.
Disney doesn’t need to go back to being a swamp. You know what that property is worth? I can guarantee you fren’ whether Disney stays or goes, that just isn’t gonna happen.
Sorry, I was being sarcastic but I know that doesn’t translate well over the internet. Just imagine I said my previous comment with a shit-eating grin.
Ron DeSantis = America’s governor. I still want Trump for POTUS though. He has proven that he can get it done on a federal level while taking all the slings and arrows from the media scum.
I definitely want Trump to run again, but I would say DeSantis has taken quite a lot of attacks and still risen to the occasion. I think Florida’s state congress deserves a lot of credit too. They enable DeSantis to do all of the great things there in Florida in my opinion.
Yeah, but the attacks on him as governor of Florida is nowhere near what he would face as POTUS. I would rather let Florida keep him until the next Presidential election after 2024.
This is Good News.
I am sure I haven’t mentioned this today so will now…..
I LOVE OUR Governor DeSantis!!!!!! He freakin ROCKS!!!!! We live in the best state in the union.
True that!!
Me too!
And we Floridians need for him to stay right where he is.
And I shudder whenever I think at how close we came to getting a druggie democrat as our governor.
Not quite a Trump Rally, but a damn fine thing to see.
By the way, see all y’all at the Rally tomorrow!
Speaking of epic CTH events, I’ve already bought tickets for 2000 Mules, both at my local theater on 2May and the virtual event online on the 7th, and I think it would be fantastic to have a CTH watch party thread for the virtual event.
This might be a good occasion for Treepers to meet in the not so virtual space too, maybe?
Thanks Maquis! I just bought me a ticket as well…Wish I could go to Vegas.
This is what winning looks like. While other GOP governors search in vain for a backbone or testicle, Governor DeSantis has testosterone to spare.
Not to defend the others (particularly my RINO Ducey) but, as has been pointed out we can not just focus on GOVERNORS; in order to launch a MAGA Federalism revolt, we need Strong MAGA Governors, WITH AG’s, State Legislatures, SoS’s, county prosecutors, county election boards, Judges, school boards.
“The Latino community”, not the Latinx community. Ohhhh I am sooo triggered!
Just occurred to me….. would Latiny be a Hispanic biological male? 🤔
Every Republican governor and state legislature should be copying Florida.
We are going to install Lake in AZ, so it is a start.
Once it starts falling, their “mostly peaceful” insurrection will tumble down like a house of cards.
Yes, we are only now really getting our team on the field.
They made so much of their progress, because we were asleep. Now, we are awake, and they don’t know how to score, against opposition.
Yup, and I hope other MAGA Candidates study and emulate her “media policy”;
She does NOT do ‘pressers’ or “press conferences”; she DOES do “one on one interviews”, and when they show up, she has HER OWN FILM CREW, so if they edit the interview, she can immediately release the unedited version.
And, she thinks ahead of time, what their “gotcha” questions will be, and has a ready responce, to knock them down.
Watching her pummel the press, true entertainment; she KNOWS all their tricks, and she ain’t havin it!
After four years of ojt in the WH as PDJT’s VP, patriot DeSantis will be fully equipped to take the helm in 2028.
So, let me get this right. The Left is breaking laws and norms across the board to flood our nation with Latinos who they immediately alienate with anti-family wokeness.
Liberalism is a mental illness.
It isn’t just latino families that are coming across the border. I’m not even sure it is even MOSTLY Latino families at this point.
President Donald J. Trump – together with – Vice President Ron DeSantis – *would* definitely get the USA back on track!! Then set the stage for President Ron DeSantis to keep it on track!!
YOUR TRUTH
🙄
The Disney sites seem quick to point out that Florida Title XIII 189.072 language on (2) other dissolution of an independent special district, requires majority approval of the electors of the district, which are 6 employees of Disney. Of course they will not vote to proceed with the dissolution.
Someone in FL needs to get an amendment on that pronto. A district must vote for itself to be dissolved? Sounds as likely as Congress voting itself pay cuts.
Statute renaming Reedy Creek Drainage District to Reedy Creek Improvement District and bestowing powers on it.

Notwithstanding s. 189.072(2), any independent special district established by a special act prior to the date of ratification of the Florida Constitution on November 5, 1968, and which was not reestablished, re-ratified, or otherwise reconstituted by a special act or general law after November 5, 1968, is dissolved effective June 1, 2023. An independent special district affected by this subsection may be reestablished on or after June 1, 2023, pursuant to the requirements and limitations of this chapter.
Excellent! Now all we need, is Trump back in his rightful office!
As we go forward I am genuinely concerned about Gov DeSantis’s safety. I have heard views that Davos/WEF had planned the controlled demolition of our economy. Brandon admitted food shortages but it’s hard to say what level that goes too. Fertilizer and farming issue stories are popping up like mushrooms. Florida seems to be one of the states that are getting things right these days. Makes me proud. I wish I could ask the Governor in a quiet confidential manner just how concerned he is. He’s a smart guy and thinks ahead.
Since the Biden regime was installed I for one have not bought into the idea flooding America with people south of the border was a ploy for votes. I think bringing in foreign nationals to eventually become D voters has certainly been a part of the plan in the past but seems to me like more of a long term strategy. I would venture to say most of those people who come over here prefer to disappear into the woodwork as opposed to walk into the spotlight. Of course there are exceptions, and yeah those Community Organizer groups stir up trouble. But since Feb 2021 the influx on our border has been unlike nothing I can recollect.
Haven’t been able to put it together but it might be taking shape. Unfortunately we have no honest accountable media anymore so people like me have to try and put their deeds in order to prepare accordingly. After 2020, no one should be under the illusion these people at the helm have any moral guardrails….THAT MUCH IS CLEAR! If there is a large shortage of food I assume most of it will not be going to 3rd world nations. These leaders in Africa better be thinking ahead that will most definitely lead to famine. I would certainly do my best to prepare for the worst now over here.
Here I think it will start off slow but let’s take another lesson from 2020. Toilet paper was on the shelves until it wasn’t. Not much warning at all and poof it was all but gone. Never really understood that but I am not a sissy either. But for the most part I didn’t see overly aggressive behavior resulting from lack of TP supply. Now let’s pretend that is most of the food. The shortages will no doubt spur hoarding and once it starts things could really go south quick. I am wondering if that is why they are bringing all these people in to add to the chaos. This would no doubt lead to a more violent American experience. They didn’t need illegals to cheat in 2020 so I am not sure why they need them now.
To quote the loveable Klaus Schwab “The world will become a more violent angry place.” That’s a little paraphrasing but the message is still the same. I have to wonder……How does this asshole knows?
Would this not be our ultimate test – do we descend into that instinctive desire to “protect” oneself (family/community) above all else – what is mine is mine. Or do we as human beings, as followers of God/morals/kindness/humanity/good things EVENTUALLY figure it out that we are ALL in it – how and what we choose to do will determine our destiny. Everything you mention regarding shortages, financial woes, confusion, and apparent madness is now a Global thing. There is no doubt that a malevolent co-coordinating and controller hand is behind it all, however the ONE thing they cannot (completely) control is HOW we respond. We the people of the world have a choice – the test is here. Darkness vs light.
If it comes down to it you must take care of your own. It’s a good question that you propose. Until only a couple months ago I would have told you this was an easy answer. As I found more spiritual gravitas I understand why you grapple with the choices. I want like minded people to prevail but that doesn’t necessarily mean outstanding folks. In fact, if we are to prevail you can bet your ass their will be some people who on our side willing to bring the gates of hell down on our enemies. Sometime violence does solve things and when necessary good/strong men must partake in it.
I share your thoughts on the real purpose of allowing the open border. It is so blatant and they just ignore any issues that arise from it. Which is a clue in itself. They tend to brush aside and work to avoid issues that are very important to their overall plan.
I think you are on to something when you mention the chaos that will ensue due to food shortages.
Considering the way everything is going badly, not just the border issus, I tend to think it is just one cog in the wheel to create a large enough chaotic situation so they can declare Marshall Law.
That, i believe, is their ultimate goal in order to take complete control.
Yeah Sharon…..its too far out there. This would have been nuts several years ago. IDK its the only reason I can think of, nothing else makes much sense. Think about it, you have a country littered with guns and ammo. How do you get them to disarm? Perhaps you make them fight each other?
I know that’s crazy but I lived through 2020. Nothing is off the table. These people are playing for keeps.
Who are you and what are you doing here?
I think it’s a bot.
So, conservatives are more racist, but woke leftists produce similarly ideological teaching materials as the Nazis did.

Whatever happened to “I may not like what you say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it”? This is clearly a case of the government punishing people for exercising their right to free speech, and even though we disagree with that speech and loathe the company behind it, this is not something we should be celebrating. It’s almost a certainty that if Disney sues Florida, they will easily win because this is a clear violation of the First Amendment.
Ask yourself this: would you still be cheering if Disney was a conservative company, and the Florida government was liberal?
Grooming is not speech.
Indoctrination is not speech.
Above and beyond that, Disney was trying to overturn a law enacted by legislators voted into office by the people of Florida. They, in effect, were trying to nullify and usurp our legislators’ function, ie to represent us and to pass laws.
How is this a First Amendment issue? Disney can say whatever they want which they have with zero restrictions. DeSantis is saying this is a value issue and Disney wanting to groom 6 six year olds has consequences. Woke companies have free speech.
This is clearly government retaliation against someone because of something they said, which is a clear violation of our First Amendment protections. You say they are still free to say whatever they want. Are they? With the threat of government action hanging over their heads? There is a legal precedent here known as “the chilling effect”.
Suppose the pastor of a large church spoke out against homosexuality, and in response, the state government enacted a law that stripped his church (and only his church) of its tax free status. Would you argue that this is perfectly acceptable because the pastor is still technically free to say whatever he wants?
Look, Disney is a disgusting company that promotes perversion, but the way I always look at these sorts of issues is to ask myself if I would like those same laws used against us when the liberals are in power.
Revocation of a PRIVELEGE – not a right – is no restriction.
What is the retaliation? It appears to me that Florida took away a special exemption for a company that should have been done away with years ago. This was to attract Disney to Florida and it has long run its course. I think you are confusing what the Framers considered free speech as I’m certain they were not worried about corporations when they passed the Bill Of Rights.
The Florida legislature and DeSantis have gone on record to say that this is being done in retaliation for Disney’s stance. There’s no pretense here about exactly what they’re doing.
Florida did not try attract Disney down to the state. Walt and his brother bought everything in secret. The state knew nothing about it.
The bill was not specifically against Disney. It was against any special entity that had special exemptions in Florida. That includes Disney. Also, all of those special entities can reapply for their special exemption status.
The State has withdrawn special privileges that were extended to Disney. Disney can continue to say whatever they want.
And that retaliation by the government is the issue. I’m surprised to see so many conservatives applauding the action when they would be justifiably outraged if a liberal state pulled this same stunt against a conservative company.
The state IS NOT preventing Disney from speech. What’s the problem?
Special “privileges”. Privileges aren’t rights. If someone drives drunk, the risk losing their license, i.e. Their privilege to drive a car. If someone breaks the law, they risk going to prison, i.e. losing the privilege to walk in society freely.
Disney was granted a special privilege with the land and ABUSED the privilege when they said they were going to fight the state law that was legally ratified concerning the children
They bit the hand that feeds them.
Someone can stand up in a movie theater and yell FIRE, but if people get hurt they can be held responsible.
To say someone can say whatever they want and no one can do anything about it, isn’t correct in my view.
The tax exempt status of churches is not a right. Are you saying you would be fine with a liberal state government stripping churches of their tax exempt status in retaliation for their religious beliefs?
Look, as much as we might not like it, Disney has every right to speak out against laws they disagree with, just as every US citizen has that right. For the government to punish them for it is a clear abuse of power, and I fully expect that if Disney sues to have their privilege reinstated, they will win easily.
How can you sue to demand a return of a privilege? The State can give privileges and take them away, and in this case the privilege should have ended years ago. I haven’t seen any restrictions on free speech and their views are certainly not being censored like so many conservative voices.
Sadly corporations like Disney have figured out they can buy politicians with political contributions and get whatever they want. Where is your outrage with Corporations doing the bidding of government and big Media with Covid and election fraud? Are these Corporations speaking out against the Tech companies censoring conservative voices? No, not one word. Where I come from this is called Fascism.
If the revocation of those privileges is found to be in violation of the Constitution, then Disney can demand they be reinstated, which is exactly what I expect will happen. As cathartic as it is to see a woke corporation get punched in the nose, I’m afraid Florida doesn’t have the law on their side here.
> The tax exempt status of churches is not a right.
Totally disagree. It’s a right that’d be infringed.
No. It is an exemption granted religious organizations by the IRS Code. It rests upon the religious groups not using their facilities for POLITICAL purposes.
Many churches do not seek exemption because the minister seeks to speak as God directs, not as man demands.
It is a violation of rights, though.
Stop being a shill. Groomers-R-Us had a private, unique deal. Churches and religions in general, have a tax-code exemption. It can be LOST if the religious organization uses its facilities for POLITICAL purposes. Capiche?
A state couldn’t do that but the US government could revoke the special tax exemption . If they did, it would have to be fair across the board to all charities I would think or discrimination law suits would surely follow.
I don’t see that as a reasonable argument because what goes along with the special tax exemption for religious entities is the agreement they won’t be political. (Yet, we see far too many “charitable tax exempt entities that ARE political and should lose their tax exempt status!). IOW, they agree to LIMIT their free speech so they don’t pay taxes.
Bottom line, the way I see it is, Disney has NOT lost their free speech. Whether they have special privileges or not, they can still say what they want.
I think your argument might make sense if, rather than removing a special privilege the state acted to PUNISH Disney. But they didn’t punish them. They removed a special privilege which (I believe) the state of Florida had the right to do at any time.
You might say that ultimately what Florida did WAS punishment but i would counter that isn’t the way to view it, especially since the state of Florida must now take on the bond issue (as mentioned above). So, it also cost Florida to take this action. It will probably cost Disney mors, but it will also cost the state more too.
Hi Mountain Man,
I ran across this bit of information. Florida is dissolving ALL special districts.
“It’s worth noting that the bill to dissolve Reedy Creek would also apply to other special districts established prior to November 5, 1968.
According to Spectrum News 13, this covers 133 of Florida’s 1,844 special districts. In addition to Reedy Creek, the bill also applies to the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, the Daytona Beach Racing and Recreational Facilities District, the Canaveral Port District, the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority, Tampa Port Authority, the Tampa-Hillsborough County Expressway Authority, the Tampa Sports Authority, and more.”
(Sorry, i forgot to copy the link before closing the tab but anyone can look this up)
The FEDGOV administers the 1A watchdogs. The company was merely denied a special privilege CONFERRED by a sovereign state that no other similarly situated corporation in the state was given. Groomers-R-Us World lost a special and unique privilege, not a right, for threatening to overturn the will of Florida electors. Oh, and Gromers-R-Us is a foreign corporation. Foreign interference in state politics got Suckerb!tch statutory barred from giving $uckerbuk$ to election offices in Florida. Should he sue, too? Man, you sure shill for foreign corps t meddle in state legislative and elections affairs. How about we send some FloGrown corps to f-up your state elections and legislative will? Fair’s fair.
The foreign corporation can sue and be damned. DeSantis is a lawyer himself, and I know some of his legal staff. These guys are very good and I guarantee you they thought of all of your objections and then some.
Then that’s a vote for Biden.
Same thing as Trump is obviously kissing ass to the GOPe.
Hey Joe, did the Easter Bunny point you to this room?
You should definitely vote for Kamala or Pete.
Gonzalo lira is alive. have not watched yet but this better not have been a planned attention getter.
Who’s the leader of the State that’s made for you and me!
Who is this “we” of which you speak?
Wish we had a governor that could do more than veto sensible reforms (that would be Tony Evers of Wisconsin).
If Trump runs he’ll get my vote.
PERIOD
Lol
🤪
🤪 🤪
🤪 🤪 🤪
Just thinking how close we came to ending up with a drug addict philanderer for governor makes me break out in hives. Devine intervention indeed!
Sorry … that should have been ‘divine’.
We get it Mike, you’ve made your point. I would only add that without Trump there would be no DeSantis.
Gov Ron Secants you are doing a Great Job,
Outstanding! Crushing the Demon Mouse, CRT, gay indoctrination, and a bad reapportionment in one series of heavy blows….
Universities will hide CRT classes under the guise of ethics or whatever. My kid endured such a class last year that was straight up CRT, but you wouldn’t know it by the syllabus.
Sneaky little bastids they are, so we’ll see.
Why not let them decide which of them will run and then support the runner, If DeSantis decides to run I think President Trump will campaign for him and back him wholeheartedly.
If President Trump seeks it I am sure the Same from Ron. We need one of them as there really is no other choice at this time. I am not terrified of the Gov. I think he will make a great President if he wins. We can only hope we get the chance to elect anyone with the way this country is going.
My Governor now, an intelligent, principled, righteous man of honor. It is so good to be back home in Florida!
The Reedy Creek Improvement District, and the laws passed concerning same, will be documented in deep detail over the coming years in books and papers. My family arrived in Florida from Georgia in 1971, when Orlando was a backwater town and Disney World did not yet exist. Much swamp water has passed under the bridges in the years since, and I have lived out West for the last 25 of those years. Coming back home it has struck me how deeply embedded the Cult/Culture of Disney is in the long time local culture.
I thank the Lord for placing Governor DeSantis in the breach at this time.
“In Dixieland I’ll make my stand, to live and die in Dixie!
Away, away, away down South in Dixie!
Away, away, away down South in Dixie!”
God bless ya’ll.
Wait a sec….. I went to Disney World the year it opened. I’m pretty sure it was summer 1971.
No biggie…just that I’m doubting my memory right now. Lol
I’m pretty sure it opened in 1967… I always remember this because it’s the year I was born. I also think I went to Disney in 71 or 72.
