One week from tomorrow the presidential election in France will be decided. Polls put the race between Marine Le Pen and Emmanuel Macron in a statistical dead heat, and combined with the recent Hungary election outcome – that has many bureaucrats in the EU very twitchy.
No doubt this race would have major ramifications if Marine Le Pen could end up victorious. Factually, the Western alliance military operation in Ukraine could fundamentally change. A post-COVID shift toward increased nationalism in France and the European Union would be very problematic for the forward plans of the professional political class and corporate globalists.

They continue to try to malign Le Pen as “far” right. Yet polls have her about even with Macron and they concede she might win in a two-way match.
So either they need to drop the “far” descriptor, or describe Macron as far-left. After all, by definition the center is the average of both. So they would have to be equally far from the center.
It’s so disgusting how they paint her as radical, you’re right. A vote for LePen is a vote for common sense – a return to normal. She should campaign on saying it – spit it back into their faces. But who am I?
I’ve noticed that actually any newspaper, pundit, candidate or anything on the right is considered far right to the commies. For instance the Epoch Times is considered far right to them. It is just how they roll.

The EU wont be too concerned. In the end the EU is a perpetual, self regulating bunch of unelected bureaucrats who operate solely in furtherance of their own agenda. They don’t just resist the will of the electorate or politicians – they actively belittle or ignore those wishes – they know best, after all. In fact they may welcome a Le Pen victory in the same way that the swamp relished being the resistance against DJT. It gave them some fun and games (all on the taxpayer’s dime of course), it deflected attention away from the current and past failures of their cohort. And critically they are still there calling the shots. France would be absolutely full of totalitarians in positions across the spectrum who will sign up to the ‘resistance’ and of course they will have the active and well funded support of Germany who dispense the riding orders (and most of the funds) for the EU in the first place.
The average French men and women did not want the EU in the first place, as well as most of the Countries that made up the initial EU. BREXIT seemed like the beginning of a snowball that never made it downhill.

Yes. One day, voter ID required, paper ballot, all votes counted by hand. The only way they can cheat is in the counting. I don’t know what safeguards are in place for that.

I hadn’t been tracking this election but just looked at the results from the initial election. Macron is in trouble! 27.8% Macron, 23.1% Le Pen, 22% Melenchon, and 27% for the rest! More than 70% rejected Macron! If no candidate gets 50% in the first round it triggers the runoff between the top two. The voters know this and still they did not push to make Macron win in the first round. Sadly some of the anti-Macron voters will still vote for him because they’ve been brainwashed to fear Le Pen. But with only 27.8% of the vote Macron is very clearly hated by many people.
I find it interesting that France has Sunday elections. Maybe we should too?
Nevermind. I just looked at the 2017 election results (rounded down): Macron 24%, Le Pen 21%, Fillon 20%, Melenchon 19%, …
In the second round Macron beat Le Pen 66% to 33%.
This tells me French people don’t know how to vote.
Melenchon is a Socialist so you have to expect 90+% of his voters will go to Macron to avoid a “far-right” Le Pen winning.

Melanchon got 66% of the Muslim vote and with Macron getting over 20% of the Muslim vote – LePen gets nothing from the Left and nothing from the Muslim vote. That puts Macron at roughly 49.80%
