Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

O Merciful God, who hast made all men, and hatest nothing that thou has made, nor desirest the death of a sinner, but rather that he should be converted and live; Have mercy upon all who know thee not as thou art revealed in the Gospel of thy Son. Take from them all ignorance, hardness of heart, and contempt of thy Word; and so fetch them home, blessed Lord, to thy fold, that they may be made one flock under one shepherd, Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.

Amen, Betsy! And good morning.
Gracious good morning, G💓 and Cat💓 . I hope all is well with you both.
All is well, Betsy. Looking forward to hopefully a less crazy day. Morning appointment with the dermatologist for my bride then picking up my granddaughter for a sleepover tonight. She is 6 months older than the Nipper. Too bad his mama has other plans for today so they won’t be able to wear each other out. It will be me doing the entertaining. 😁
I guess there goes the less crazy day but I love it. Yesterday, she met Dr. Ben Carson at her school. Waiting to hear all about it from her.
Blessings ❤️
Another full day!! What joys! And a sleepover is the top hat on it. I don’t worry about your entertaining skills, G😂. I bet you have a million ways to do that💓 So much for a peaceful retirement, but in this regard at least, how wonderful.
And what an experience to meet Dr Carson, a man whom I admire more than I can say, knowing his story. And God bless his amazing mother who pretended she could read and so marked the book reports she assigned to him and his brother in order to make a way for them that was better than the one she had. Who could have for told where he’d end up? Someone knew. We all know Who that was. Mysterious ways indeed🙏.
I hope you’ll give us a dissertation, short or otherwise, of her experience.
Enjoy your quite busy day, my friend. Reports are required after!😘
One of the elementary schools teachers in her school is friends with Dr. Carson so he stopped by and read a book to the first graders.
A man generous with his time, that most precious of commodities. Wonderful!💖
It is finished.
That a man, Jesus Christ, gave His life for me, a sinner…may I make myself worthy of His subtitutionary sacrifice, I pray in His Holy Name🙏
Tetelestai.

My Love from the Star – Just a Song Before I Go – Crosby, Stills, Nash
400 years ago, an alien landed in Joseon era Korea. He became the protector of a 15
year old widow who was going to be killed by her family as a supposed suicide to win
an award as a virtuous family but, in the end, he is unable to save her. In modern
times, the alien sees a girl in danger who looks like the young widow and does save
her. Years later he re-discovers the saved girl, now a famous actress, and falls in
love with her.
Liked this . . . 🙂
I like your basking kitty, too! We once had a little grey Persian who would lie under the paw of our Irish Wolfhound as he licked her into a soggy little mess. One of the great cats.
Not so sure about the CSN song dubbed over the MV. I like LYn’s (린) rendition of “My Destiny” from the OST. LYn does a lot of nice ballads.
Really don’t know why I don’t like that song. I’ve heard it so many times during the drama and it just doesn’t reach me. I’m still trying to make a collection of Korean songs that I’ve fallen in love with while watching dramas but I haven’t built the set yet. The song from Meow was the first song that hit me so hard that I had to work with it. The one I posted yesterday, Love Always Runs Away, was the second. But I will search out more of LYn. Truly don’t know their work other than My Destiny. Thank you for the singer recommendation.
Meow, the Secret Boy – Better to be You – Drew Ryan Scott
I should have added that I’m ALWAYS looking for recommendations for music to use in literary music videos. The constraints are that the lyrics can’t be repetitive (which loses almost all Beatles’ songs) and they can’t be SO detailed that you can’t create a story for a drama. Very rarely will detailed songs work. Some exceptions that did work in surprising contexts:
Miami Vice – Battle of New Orleans- Johnny Horton
Deep Space 9 – The Load Out & Stay – Jackson Browne
Harry Potter – Pinball Wizard – The Who
Loved this. Beautifully done.
Hugs, Bessie. Many, many thanks.

Gabby the cat and Geisha the cocker both love sun beams. They’ll stretch out side by side to sun bathe. During the afternoon Gabby the cat will climb up into the bed I have for her in the widow in my office that faces west and get her rays.

Back in the day . . .,
One more . . .
How appropriate, on Holy Friday no less 😶
Well . . . 🙂
One of the few bands I didn’t get to see in my youth.

The produced presentation and personal chemistry between Allison Krause and Robert Plant in “Gone Gone Gone” are multiple thumbs up.
I’ve been enjoying their work very much. 🙂
Yep. Their videos are golden.

Nancy and Frank Sinatra had the #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Something Stupid”.
To this day they are the only father and daughter team to have a US chart topping single. (“Unforgettable” by Natalie Cole and Nat “King” Cole reached #14 in 1991)
15 April 1972
Roberta Flack’s “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” became an unlikely Billboard number one hit after it was featured in the Clint Eastwood film Play Misty For Me. The song had been originally released as an album cut three years earlier, but after Eastwood included it in his movie, Atlantic Records rush released it as a single.
15 April 1989
Roy Orbison had his final Top 10 single on the US chart with “You Got It”, four months after he passed away. The song was written by Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty and appeared on Orbison’s “Mystery Girl” album that was released posthumously.
Tonight at church for communion they had the niftiest little cup w/grape juice, w/the layer of wafer sealed all into one. First time I had ever seen such a thing. It was quite cool. They have been using them since Rona outbreak. Kudos to the person that designed and came up w/the idea.
One church stopped doing communion due to the Rona and when they brought t back it was just the wafer, they still don’t have any wine, and they still make the children wear masks while the adults don’t.
Always a favorite.
Hallelujah!

Still Good Friday here.
Ate my cod and three hours till my steak.
Some on this site get a little confused about Aussie God botherers, as I have explained before it’s personal, no big hoo ha, mob only speak if asked and really that’s considered being rude.
I’ve seen the response of many and mostly it’s of the “none of your f*cking business” variety !
Both Friday and Monday are public holidays, the Thursday and Tuesday are choice, you cannot be “sacked” from your job if you choose not to work on the Thursday or Tuesday.
Easter holidays is the most common term used.
The school holidays coincide by by influence, not choice !
The commies have tried several times to “take out” Easter, never worked as the backlash was so strong.
You mob would never pick who’s who in the armour world, the little old lady or the tattooed up street fighter down the road, the pothead or the bloke you met at the local pub, like I’ve already said, difficult to explain.
Thinking as writing this the best I can come up with is the point that nobody knows my guns as nobody knows my God !
Mungrel loves both !
Goodaye Mungrel 😘
Woof, woof !
Hope Feral Cat big bath good ☺, no to much whisker wash, make Feral crazy cat 😜, Mungrel have old master introduced young mungrel to cool 🐱
Wilfred days movie stuff ,
Comic book star cat, big hit comic cat world 😊 !
Crash pad at “Fat Freddy’s”
Had no name, so he called “Fat Freddy’s cat” much Feral, but famous 😁 .
Is that tree Feral relo 😛 ?
Hssss….had to scrub ears real good. Get clean enough for God’s message to get into my ears! 🙂
Fat freddy’s cat ☺️ is a distant elder relation. Retold tee hee he many times for the new kittens. It is a family tradition around the campfire. 😝
You like my new scratch post, (your new port a John)? I had hoped you’d like it especially with all wood ferns growing around the spot 🥰
Goodaye son, or more like good evening 😁! I think you’ve explained it very well. Steak sounds really good right now, esp. after having dried meat, cheese and grapes for supper for the last two evenings. Just got too late to cook anything. I like that stuff a lot when I can wet it down with something different than water but my bride is very insistent that I stay a good boy.
Cheers.
Hi grandpa ❤️ I’ve been leaving replies all week to you, but I think I keep posting too late for you to see them.
You’ve been extremely active and an inspiration to me to keep my chore list to a minimum. Don’t know whether I should thank you or send you my chiropractor bill 😂
Please say hello to the mrs for me ❤️
LOL, Cat! Reminds me of the guy applying for a job that was asked what were his skills. He said, “I can dig ditches, and I can NOT dig ditches.”
I like not digging ditches the best but currently don’t have a choice in the matter.
‘And having our granddaughter for a sleepover is a treat because we have been able to do it only recently due to her special medical needs. God has performed so many miracles with this little girl , blessed be His Holy Name! 💜 Remember guessing her name? 😍
He has plans for that one, G💓…count on it!
He sure does, Betsy, she’s on first name basis with Him 🙂.
O my heart, G!!🤗💓🙏
Violet, I think. spring and violets on this Easter weekend ❤️
You got it ❤️!
Goodaye Pop, it’s good you understand the Aussie “God” position, I can tell by some of the response’s I get that many here don’t.
Dried meat ?
We would call that “jerky” more a beer snack than anything else !
When this mess is over if we ever meet we’ll just have to have a “naughty boy” night out 😁 .
Wishing you and yours all the best.
Mungrel 🍻 .
I am all in. 🍻
The dried meat it’s kind of like jerky. A block of salted dried beef that you slice real thin and yes, goes very well with beer. This one is made in Bosnia, I buy it from a Mediterranean store in San Antonio.
Good morning, M!!🙏😘
Splendid day to you Betsy,
Last post so hope you see it !
Remember my hospital war ? Well it’s escalated to the point that I threatened them with court stating that I will submit thousands of pages of evidence !
Their scurrying like the rats that are, funny to watch as I have no money but they don’t know that !
I’m sure I’ve awakened a few in the nest though.
I just wish more would stand as I’m the only one attacking them and this is a huge hospital system.
Cheers Betsy, Easter boomerang sent 😘
Thank you for posting this.
Magnificent; such power, and tenderness too.
Oh, why did Wolfgang A Mozart have to die so young?
The Crucifixion And Passover
https://freedomaustralia.freeforums.net/thread/2140/crucifixion-passover?page=1&scrollTo=6551
Psalm 35:11-14 “False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not. They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul. But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into my own bosom. I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourns for his mother.”
The Psalms were written for giving us understanding of the life of Christ in the Spirit, in this present evil world. The words of the prophets are to describe to us what Jesus experienced in His sufferings, in all points made like unto His brethren. Everything which the Lord Jesus Christ commands us to do, He has done before us. When the Lord said for us to be perfect as our Father in heaven is perfect, who gives His sunshine and rain upon the good and the evil; it is because He Himself has given us the example of His own actions, that came from His perfect heart with His Father; which was the well spring of His perfect obedience.
Jesus came into a world of darkness and hostility, of crime and hypocrisy at the highest levels; a world of oppression and cruel brutality upon the poor and the defenseless. He came into a world of fallen human nature and error, of lost souls who were all guilty of sinning, but none knowing, or even imagining if it is possible, how to get back to innocence. The only thing that could find these poor lost souls was the Word of God, the Truth, come in the flesh among us.
When He found only evil in many who heard Him; He was meek and steadfastly committed still to be and to do and to speak only and all as the Father commanded Him. Love your enemies, pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute, turn the other cheek, give freely looking for nothing in return, including to those who cannot repay you; these were the traits of the Lamb of God, upon whom the Spirit rested; and are the things we are commanded to do if we are His friends.
Nothing that Jesus did was for a religious show, but out of a pure heart of love for righteousness, and love for souls, full of grace and truth. And this is how we are to learn obedience also as He did, by the things which we suffer, for the sake of our faith in God, who will render righteousness to all in due time. The love is real, and the pain from the wrongful sufferings for being good is also real. We will overcome as Jesus did, when we hold fast the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, and do not let the lawlessness abounding more and more make our hearts grow cold and calloused, so that we fall away from Jesus being our first love, and do not fulfill our sacred charge of working in His harvest.
Psalm 69:8-11 “I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother’s children. For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me. When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach. I made sackcloth also my garment; and I became a proverb to them.”
Revelation 14:12 “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”
Revelation 13:10 “He that leads into captivity shall go into captivity: he that kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.”
April 15 Oswald Chambers
The Failure To Pay Close Attention
The high places were not removed from Israel. Nevertheless the heart of Asa was loyal all his days. —2 Chronicles 15:17
Asa was not completely obedient in the outward, visible areas of his life. He was obedient in what he considered the most important areas, but he was not entirely right. Beware of ever thinking, “Oh, that thing in my life doesn’t matter much.” The fact that it doesn’t matter much to you may mean that it matters a great deal to God. Nothing should be considered a trivial matter by a child of God. How much longer are we going to prevent God from teaching us even one thing? But He keeps trying to teach us and He never loses patience. You say, “I know I am right with God”— yet the “high places” still remain in your life. There is still an area of disobedience. Do you protest that your heart is right with God, and yet there is something in your life He causes you to doubt? Whenever God causes a doubt about something, stop it immediately, no matter what it may be. Nothing in our lives is a mere insignificant detail to God.
Are there some things regarding your physical or intellectual life to which you have been paying no attention at all? If so, you may think you are all correct in the important areas, but you are careless— you are failing to concentrate or to focus properly. You no more need a day off from spiritual concentration on matters in your life than your heart needs a day off from beating. As you cannot take a day off morally and remain moral, neither can you take a day off spiritually and remain spiritual. God wants you to be entirely His, and it requires paying close attention to keep yourself fit. It also takes a tremendous amount of time. Yet some of us expect to rise above all of our problems, going from one mountaintop experience to another, with only a few minutes’ effort.
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
To live a life alone with God does not mean that we live it apart from everyone else. The connection between godly men and women and those associated with them is continually revealed in the Bible, e.g., 1 Timothy 4:10.
Very GOOD!
RE: “Yet some of us expect to rise above all of our problems, going from one mountaintop experience to another, with only a few minutes’ effort.”
How true! I’ve been told, that Americans don’t know how to relax. Well, I guess compared to some other Countries’ cultures, that’s very true. But on the spiritual level, I’m afraid that that is precisely the greatest sin at work in many American Christians; laziness and indifference to the things of God. Like the sons of God from the world of the beginning, they have grown weary of the Spirit’s convictions and strivings with them, “because they are flesh,” in other words, “we’re only human, and everybody sins: no one can keep the commandments! etc…” And we all know what was the result of that: the salt had lost its savor, and the light had gone out; and now nothing restrained the world from utterly corrupting and ruining all God’s way on the earth. So God had no other recourse but to destroy man, and all that breathes from off the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark survived.
So there is much for us to fear, not to let slip what He has entrusted to us.
So true my brother ❤️
My heart skipped a beat and I had to pause when I read:
You no more need a day off from spiritual concentration on matters in your life than your heart needs a day off from beating. As you cannot take a day off morally and remain moral, neither can you take a day off spiritually and remain spiritual
Talk about a God knock out 🥊!!!!! Very awesome ❤️
Good morning, Cat💓 You and I are in sync with this from Oswald Chambers. It was precisely that sentence that caught my attention. In fact, if he had written nothing else in this little sermon but that, his message would have been perfectly delivered. But then, no words are wasted in his writings, so I’m glad he added the rest. Blessings to you, girl.🙏🤗
Good Morning Betsy!
Felt like a lightning bolt had struck me, upon reading that. Most rejuvenating spirituality 🥰
Wanted to share some of my specials, I’ve accumulated thru the years with you ❤️
“Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing.” “What seems to us bitter trials are often blessings in disguise.” “A man who can laugh at himself is truly blessed, for he will never lack for amusement.”
Just sharing, Some of the words I live by, they’re in my top ten ☺️ ❤️
Oh I love those! And I subscribe to them all…always have. It’s lovely to see them all in one place. Thank you, dear friend.🤗
And laughing at one’s self? Essential. It’s never a good thing to take one’s self too seriously. 😉
Cat, the same two sentences jumped out at me when I was reading your post. God knockout, indeed!
For years I have read that the Ivory-billed woodpecker is extinct or in what I consider the better references, “may be extinct”. Now it seems the argument is renewed.
Extinction’s Yo-Yo – The Ivory-billed Woodpecker – Watts Up With That?
Great timing, think the annual spring bird count is near! I’ve got a spot or two that no human has been in for over twenty five years to look for them. Awesome 😊 thanks Rah 😘
Two Canadian geese just flew past me so low I could glory in their immense size as well as, for the briefest moment, hear the air under their wings. Their fellows I could hear not far away, all of them calling as they flew.
We have Mr and Mrs Cardinal, life mates, who are building a nest in the tall holly at eye level outside our office window. We can sit in the desk chair and quietly observe them adding materials and then expertly fashioning their home for new arrivals (we hope). And this year, as never before, that holly has put out abundant tiny flowers…so a visitor we’ve never seen before and were able to observe in great detail, was a huge hummingbird moth, or snowberry moth, with his long proboscis supping on whatever nectar was afforded him.
And speaking of the annual spring bird count, if you’ve never seen The Big Year, I can strongly suggest it for you…a very lovely movie about life and love and birds. Pretty sure you’d enjoy it.
Thanks for the recommendation, will definitely put it on my movies list.
When I hear the air sounding under their wings, it’s the most awe inspiring sound. 🥰
Those hummingbird moths are very unique!I think those moths hover on butterfly bushes too. That’s where I thought I spied them. You might spy them there too
😉
I do have one in my backyard. I’ll be on the lookout when they blossom.
Many years ago I climbed Mt. Harvard in Colorado. On my way down, a few hundred feet from the top, I thought I saw a strange hummingbird, but looking at it closer, it was a humming moth. I was very large, the same size as a hummingbird. I have seen plenty of humming moths since, but never one as large as that one. Perhaps they grow larger in cold climates.
YES!!!!! Which at first I said it was. Simply amazing! A dinner for some robin if he’s not careful….which I hope he is. We’re still coolish here in Texas, bit nothing as Colorado must be at this time of year.
Good luck! The buggers are eating me out of house and home. I have two large seed block gages I try to keep filled hanging on a double shepherds hook and an 8 lb. “squirrel proof” feeder. Usually two blocks will last three days. Now they are lasting two.
😂 I feel ya Rah! My yankee flippers bit the dust. Not bear proof 😢 so the woodpeckers are on a non gmo diet of bugs. My bottomless pits are the hummingbird bird nectar. Three full feeders might last 24 hours. Got a fourth for this year and a case of sugar for them. Putting in a water spa for them too this year. It’s jays fault 😜
I’m blessed with very hungry birds this year also , sparrows , chickadee’s , and finch’s are
destroying my feeders at double the normal volume. Wasting so much that falls to the ground the doves are on the ground picking up what’s falling on the ground. The Humming birds are ravenous also , thinking it’s all this glo-bull warming here in western WA. Snow and hail at 38 degrees last couple of weeks. So happy that the Swan’s and Geese are in the farmers fields. 😉
Good morning, jay💓!
Sparrows are the mainstay here in North Texas. But this spring, as never before and within a short window, we suddenly had finches and chick added swarming the feeders…as well as the ubiquitous doves, jays, A robin, cardinals, and (I think) A woodpecker pair, though he is the one I see most often. Squirrels of course. But the finches and most of the Carolina chickadees have now left us. Migrating perhaps?
But I will not see any of God’s creations go hungry, so they all get fed. I hope St Francis would approve. Blessings to you, sir.B
Chickadees!!!! Autocorrect is due a timeout!!
Bonjour Betsy , forgot to mention the Ospreys at work getting their nest built up. Fun to watch at lunch.
For me, it would be hard to go back inside once I’d finished eating. They are lovely💓
We have counted as many as 10 pairs of cardinals at a time waiting their turn at our feeders. The sunflower seeds have nearly doubled in price.
Birds at my feeder and seed blocks:
Wood peckers:
Red breasted
Hairy
Downy
Nuthatch.
Red Headed woodpeckers usually appear in the spring but not yet so far this year.
Nothern flickers sometimes pass thorough
Others:
3-4 species of sparrows
House Finch
Tufted tit mice
Cardinals
Blue Jays
Black birds
Red winged black birds
Black Caped Chickadee’s
The inevitable mob of European starlings in their spring bling
Feeding on the ground below the feeders are:
Morning Doves
Cow birds
There are other transients that pass through like Baltimore Orioles and Red breasted cross beaks and blue birds.
That is close to what we have seen and identified. I would add the underground arriving feeders: Chipmunks.
Morning, rah💓 That’s an army! I adore the red wings. We have grackles in abundance, but they tend to congregate around built up areas near buildings like grocery stores. I feel sorry for them, ugly and scrawny as they are. They must have been last in line when God has his paints and paint brushes out, I always think.
We had nut hatches in Wales, and if we could be fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of one, our day was made.
And this…speaking of winged creatures…
Our rural house had a detached substantial garage with a huge attic which was home to bats. There is no rabies in Britain, and they and their habitats are protected by law. They would always come out of that attic around dusk…one right after another, neverending. It was fascinating to watch them, and one evening I stood and counted. I gave up after 180. They just kept coming.
One night when we had the top half of our Dutch door open in the back which bordered our small morning room, one bat flew in. It startled me, I can tell you. And especially as his radar was confounded, he flew round and round and round in that room, until I screwed my courage to the sticking place, entered it, turned out the lights and stood in the kitchen in the dark behind the opened top of the door and watched as he regained his perspective…he flew out.
A very unusual experience for this Texas gal, I can tell you!!
Redwing. One of my favorite songs.
The words:
Oh that is some real down home music, Intense!! Just really good listening. Thank you!😊
Thank you intense ❤️
Really enjoyed both 😊
Morning, VM💓 Yes, oh yes! The prices have skyrocketed. Nevertheless, we just suck it up and provide.
In Britain avid bird watchers are called “Twitchers”. As a group they are roundly but gently mocked for their devotion to this activity. But I can’t think of a more wonderful way to spend my time, if truth be told. Looking for different species of birds in rural Britain, far away from the sounds of “civilization”, glorying in nature with God in His Heaven? Then stopping by a local pub for a pint and a light lunch before gong back to see what one can see? An unexpected sighting of one not normally seen in daily life unless one is near a waterway (like the stunning beautiful tiny kingfishers which are partial to the canals of which there is an extensive network throughout Britain)?
What’s not to love??🙏

Ramones: An American Band, by Jim Bessman is a good read.
Ramones on MTV videos suck.
To appreciate the Ramones you have to see them live. Or blast their album/music thru your head phones, Their music is about rocking out to the driving beat, not the tiresome visuals of MTV vids.
Rock on.

Good morning, LS💓 This is an emotional time for all of us. I pray your weekend will be joy-filled and peaceful. We are loved by Him who created us. What comfort there is in knowing it. B🙏
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

Great American Songbook…………..
“The Way You Look Tonight”, composed by Jerome Kern with lyrics by Dorthy Fields for the 1936 film Swing Time. Eight-six years later it still retains it’s charm, swing, and contemporary feel.
So many singers have covered this number, I enjoy this one.

Dzien Dobry (good morning)
“Dzien Dobry!” (In Polish)
“Dzien” (Day) is related to the Latin word for “day” dies (dee-ace), whence we have the word “day.”
Most people do not know that both “dies” and the Latin word for God “Deus” go back to a more ancient Indo-European root of “dyew” which (it is postulated) simply meant “the bright sky.”
God, as a bringer of light (“Let there be light!”) is an ancient and very logical idea transcending geographic and ethnic divisions.
Thanks for the ‘lesson;. All 4 of my grandparents came from Poland – but they would not let us kids learn / speak Polish.
We lived with my mom’s mom for a few years (5-10 yrs of age). Gram spoke broken English, so I have a few words (not many)

Good Morning back at’cha
🙂
If you cannot attend a Good Friday liturgy today, here is an excellent alternative, which I have offered earlier this week: a marvelous cantata by French composer Theodore Dubois: The Seven Last Words of Christ: (the title is somewhat misleading: seven last “statements” would be closer).
Thanks.
Thank you, Ausonius. I adore French written music. It has a musical fingerprint that is very distinctive, and I very much look forward to hearing this.
Today I shall listen to Berlioz’s moving and powerful Requiem, the Grande Messe des Morts which befits this day and the loss we all feel.
But it is a specific performance that no other can match, conducted by Jukka Pekka Saraste, and played by the WDR Symphony Orchestra, sung by the Tschehisch Philharmonischer Choir. It is performed in Cologne Cathedral.
Ethereal, powerful, overwhelming! I hope thatyou’ll allow me to recommend this superb work as offered by these unmatched musicians. There is no other to touch it. Blessings to you, sir🙏
I know Cologne quite well: my daughter lived there for some years, and I visited the area over 20 times during the summer via an exchange program which I had founded for my students in my German course.
Yes, the Berlioz Requiem is a big, marvelous work! Many thanks for the tip about that performance!
If you like French music, then you must know about Louis Vierne: his 6 symphonies for organ are not be missed!
e.g.
and for orchestra:
Happy Listening!
Oh I do love it! I just finished listening to the Requiem for the umpteenth time. But today it carried more passion for me. And as always when I get to the end of this particular performance, there is always the beginning of tears. Perfection…simply perfect.
I felt this majestic Cathedral was the right place for the performance. What an opportunity for you and your daughter… I’m sure you both have rich and abiding memories.
Thank you for those links. We are partial to the organ. My father in law had the chance to tune the one in Liverpool Cathdral. And as he always played by memory, he also managed to charm the local clergy when testing the sound.
The organist Ian Tracy was there for many years, and one of the finest thrills I ever experienced was his recital in our small but charming historic church in Llangollen, North Wales. What an evening!
Tomorrow I’ll look for Monsieur Vierne’s organ works. In the meantime, I shall listen to these. I’m most grateful…blessings to you🙏
Greetings Betsy Jones!
Most excellent! So you are in Wales! Near us is a small village called “Gomer” with a “Welsh-American Museum” complete with a medieval dragon coat of arms. Immigrants from Wales settled there – among mostly German immigrants who were busy draining the massive “Great Black Swamp of Northwest Ohio.”
Yes, works which we think we know well can have different effects on us at different times in our lives. It is an interesting phenomenon.
Louis Vierne is one of my favorite composers: if you like or love the organ, he has some of the most soul-shaking organ symphonies in the genre.
Speaking of great versions of the Requiem, an unlikely choice is the great comic-opera composer Franz Von Suppe‘, whose Requiem is marvelously off-beat, yet very solemn, tuneful, and a fascinating experience.
Brahms admired all of Von Suppe’s works, but especially his religious compositions.
I was, Ausonius…20 years in Wales and they were happiest of my life. As Somerset Maugham said (paraphrasing) some people are born in the wrong place, and if they are fortunate, they find where they should be. I’m one of those…American born and now back here because my family is here. One has to make those decisions.
I knew there were Welsh settlers here, primarily in Pennsylvania and Ohio. Looking at a map one day the names of towns ad universities just jumped out at me. I did enjoy perusing. It was like being back home, as I will forever call that most beautiful country.
Interesting about Von Suppe. I’ll look up his Requiem tomorrow…and yes, you do surprise me with that bit of interesting information. And you are right. I’d never have
figured he’d have one in him, given his genre. I’m quite excited to hear it.
And Brahm’s German Requiem has always been one of my favourites. The one I like is the performance with Sir Bryn Terfel singing the small (relative to the whole work) bass baritone part. But I would, wouldn’t I, his being Welsh.
And speaking of bass baritones, are you familiar with the superb voice of Thomas Quasthoff? As you are a German speaker and spent so much time there, I’m guessing you will know him.
A most interesting example of God’s grace and mercy is Herr Quasthoff. He was born with deformed limbs and shortened height after his mother took Thalidomide. But oh MY!! His voice!! He is our favourite bass baritone, whose range is just incredible. His Schubert lieder performances must be heard.
I know Fischer-Dieskau is supposed to be the gold standard… but not for me, as marvelous as he was, and who is greatly missed.
Quasthoff has no peer in my view. He sings jazz as well. Georgia on my Mind gives you an idea of his amazing voice. But be it that, or Mahler, Bach or Schubert, I’m always amazed how God intervened in his life with the great great gift he possesses. No longer giving concerts, he conducts, and conducts master classes. I hope you’ll look him up. What a treat is in store for you if you are unfamiliar.
I must stop! Could go on and on. Thank you for your lovely suggestions. Tomorrow for me will be filled with gorgeous music, Ausonius, and I thank you very much! B
Thanks for the nice response! Yes, Quasthoff is not to be missed! I have a CD of him singing Mahler’s orchestral songs, from back when Pierre Boulez was recording his Mahler symphonic cycle for DGG.
Thalidomide babies! I recall the anguished uproar quite well! Nature does unexpected things, almost every time a scientist thinks he has her under control!
Best Wishes!
I am preparing the lesson for Sunday from Isaiah 48. I am having a bit of difficulty preparing to communicate an interesting truth found in these verses. In verse 3 God declares:
3 “The former things I declared of old;
they went out from my mouth, and I announced them;
then suddenly I did them, and they came to pass.
God says that the former things were known and expected. A few verses later (6b-8a) we find this:
From this time forth I announce to you new things,
hidden things that you have not known.
7 They are created now, not long ago;
before today you have never heard of them,
lest you should say, ‘Behold, I knew them.’
8 You have never heard, you have never known,
from of old your ear has not been opened.
God is warning his people that a new thing is coming, that He has put it into motion, but they have not heard or known.
What is this “new thing?”
Maybe it is the salvation from Babylon that King Cyrus will soon bring. Maybe it will be rebuilding of Jerusalem and the Temple.
Maybe it is more. Following the return from Babylon, we see God working out his will for the perfect time to send Jesus to be the atoning sacrifice. I have often thought about how the leaders of Jesus’ day did not seem to realize that they were in the presence of God or even that God was working among them. The book of Matthew in particular lays out the prophetic record that the “scholars” should have seen. Jesus repeatedly said that they had ears but could not hear. God purposefully brought the “new thing” to an unknowing and unsuspecting people. This would certainly be a “new thing” as God will now extend the call to be His people beyond just the Jews.
If the same is true today, what new thing might God have prepared? If it is like then, it will not be fully known until it is over.
After all, Revelation does speak of new heaven, new earth and all things new.
The “scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites” scholars were obviously PhD candidates.

One of our era’s greatest mysteries: the silence of the MAGA supermajority, the supermajority that created the Red Tsunami on November 3, 2020 and affirmed beyond any doubt that rule by The Left was a heinous crime against the Will of the People. Why has that strong, vibrant, passionate supermajority been so strangely silent in the face of the Evil that usurps and destroys? and will it finally Rise, like an Easter Sunrise, unafraid of the shadows of puppets and the puppets of shadows?
Good question Halley. I’m biding my time, keeping my powder dry till I see the whites of their eyes. Never get in the way of the enemy’s making their mistakes. 🤷♀️

Just sitting and thinking as I am oft want to do it occurred to me what Build Back Better really means. It means Build Back Black.
At the Community College that I attended the professor of psychology stated that the halls of community colleges are littered with failed doctorial candidates. One of my cousins works at a community college and has been a doctorial candidate since forever. Doctorial candidates must have an original idea for their thesis and then defend it. ‘A’ students who parrot back what they have been told evidently do not have original ideas.
Stay with me I’m getting there.
So at a Leadership Conference I attended there were PhDs by the score, dozens even. However, they were all Black.
How’s that?
So Black PhD candidates think originally? A demographic who have the average IQ of 80. [Trust me I love Dr. Ben Carson, etc. etc. etc.]
Now look at it this way. If you wanted to destroy a country that you hated and had a grudge against you might do it Inside Out. A couple years ago in my town a Black contractor built an overpass over the Interstate. The bridge cracked and collapsed before it was even finished. Affirmative Action PhDs building infrastructure which is shabby, cracks, is dangerous, and completely inferior.
Think about it.
Michael Mann Says Democrats Are Winning | Real Climate Science
Now THAT is funny! Even The Daily Beast is scared.
Joe Biden and the Democrats Should Be Absolutely Terrified by These New Poll Numbers (thedailybeast.com)
And then there is this just today:
Joe Biden’s Pollster: ‘Worst Political Environment that I’ve Lived Through in 30 Years’ (breitbart.com)
He says: ”No one’s going to sit there as a Democratic consultant and try to bullshit you that this is anything but a really sour environment for Democrats.”
Mikey recently went to NYC to accept an award. He stayed at the Marriot where the cheapest room is $600.00 a night. But he wasn’t happy that one of the three TVs in the exercise room had FOX on and when he asked the manager to change it was told that was where it was preset and it could not be changed.
So now he’s tried to mount a Twitter campaign to force the Marriot to change and as far as I know, he has not been successful. Probably because they understand that a bulk of his followers are bots.
I want to know who paid for his room and why he did not just attend the event virtually since he is supposed to be so concerned about “climate change”.
Mark Steyn, still defending himself from a malicious lawsuit by this Mann character (10 years and counting…sort of like Dickens’s Jarndyce vs Jarndyce) would decimate that statement in a heartbeat. Mann, professional suer of everyone who opposes and upset him, is the worst of the absolute worst.
Steyn isn’t just defending himself. He filed a counter suit.
The leftists are running out of time on this. They have delayed it 10 years now. One would think the hammer is going to fall before too much longer.
I surely hope so. Mark won one suit against Levin’s CRTV. But you know the saga of this. I’m not sure if they ever paid what they owed him. If they are still fighting the judgement (already affirmed by another court), thinking they can wait him out, they have no idea who they’ve taken on.
JESUS, I WILL PONDER NOW
He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world didn’t recognize him. He came to his own, and those who were his own didn’t receive him.
But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name: who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. The Word became flesh, and lived among us.
We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth. John testified about him. He cried out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me, for he was before me.’”
From his fullness we all received grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The one and only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, has declared him.

Oh my…1530. I find it hard to describe the beauty of your words and hymn. Personally, they are a perfect sunset meditation ❤️
Big big big BIG 🤗 HUG!!!
Thanks 😊 ❤️
FC, thanks for your lovely comment. I’m very fond of this hymn also. We usually only sing it during the time just before
Easter. I’ll link it here again for tomorrow — the day before the main celebration of our Lord’s resurrection, and of our own in time to come.
This scripture did seem right for the season. I just kind of happened on it. Glad it was good with sunset.
Hugs to you.

Well, it’s getting to be that time of year. My grass is green but before I can mow it I want to change the oil, oil filter, air filter, and grease the mower to get it ready. The blade change will come after the first mowing.
Lots of dead fall sticks and stuff to pick up but the wind won’t give me a break and keeps putting more down. Thus the blade change after the first mowing.
once you are done mowing your grass, please come and mow my orchard and pastures. I will make you a cake. bourban?
