The Ottawa Police used horses to charge into a protesting crowd earlier today. An elderly disabled woman (identified by red jacket) was standing with her mobility walker as the mounted police charged. She was crushed by the horses and Fox News journalist Sara Carter {LINK} is reporting she died from her injuries. UPDATE: That report of her death is now refuted directly by Ottawa police; however, she did suffer injuries.
Shortly after the police mounted the charge and trampled the crowd, the Ottawa Police claimed via Twitter someone threw a bicycle at one of the horses. Video of the incident shows it wasn’t a bicycle, and it was not thrown, it was the mobility walker of the victim as she was trampled by the horses.
Video of the events clearly show the police were the aggressors as they charged into the crowd. The victims can be seen getting pinned between the horses, falling to the ground and then being trampled by the horses. The elderly woman (red jacket) and her mobility walker are in the picture above.

Liberals (leftists), in Canada and around Ottawa, are cheering on the police and asking for stronger (more violent) attacks against the protest group.
The Ottawa Police are denying the reports that anyone was injured or killed and sticking by their demonstrably false claim that a bicycle was thrown at them.
If the elderly lady did succumb to her injuries these tweets are horrifically inappropriate and tone deaf.
Let us hope the Sara Carter reports of her being killed are false.
UPDATE: Thankfully the elderly lady is ok. That said, “seriously injured” is rather subjective.

I hope that both people who were trampled have survived and will recover from their injuries, but those videos of thugs on horseback will live forever.

My son is a firefighter here in California and has driven an ambulance in that hell hole of San Francisco. Lots of the calls to 911 are from drug related incidents.
The police and firemen are dealing with a crazy population of addicts, all the time. In fact, my son said that some people are literally insane, paranoid and scared to death and will try to hurt others in their fear.
The best way to deal with this type person is to make it clear to them that they have to obey you or they will be restrained in a way not of their own choosing. When the situation is clear to them, they calm down.
So, here we have normal, freedom loving protestors. Not a danger to anyone, except Trudeau’s power lust, asserting their right to make their grievances known to the government. The police have no part here.
Trudeau absolutely should negotiate with these people and address their grievances in a legal manner.
Police are always enforcers and it is not fair to put them in this position, when negotiation is clearly what is called for to solve this situation. Police are trained to enforce the law to keep the peace, but it is not always pretty when they do. We ask them to do this for us as a society.

When a body gets frail enough to need a walker to get about, a fall can be a devastating event. My mother has had horses all her life, but at 94, she can only visit them over the fence. A friendly nudge with a nose by her horse could push her over.

Gonna be tough after this. I understand cops are in a tough spot, but what they did with the horses was inexcusable. If they felt the need to use the horses to “create space,” all they had to do was slowly walk the horses through, while at the same time warning people to move back. Instead, they galloped the horses through and recklessly trampled people with no warning – people whose backs were turned. It was akin to shooting a crippled old lady in the back.

Supposedly a woman was trampled to death by a police horse today. Given that all of this happened illegally according to what I would understand Canadian law to be, the horseman, and everyone in his chain of command bears responsibility.
