CANADA – The City of Ottawa declared a state of emergency Sunday afternoon in response to ongoing protests in the downtown core, soon after police announced they would boost enforcement and crack down on the demonstrators’ supply of fuel.
In a statement, the city said the declaration “reflects the serious danger and threat to the safety and security of residents posed by the ongoing demonstrations and highlights the need for support from other jurisdictions and levels of government.”

It was illegal in India for the native people to make their own salt, something easily done from sea water.
In the hot climate of India salt was a very important part of the diet and should have been a cheap easily obtained product but was made hard to get and expensive by the laws and taxes of the British.

They say many police officers are quietly offering support, and that should violence be turned on the Convoy.
The organizers anticipate thousands of defenders to descend on Ottawa.

I did see a video of SUV’s , ambulance and police cars leaving the base camp where gas was stored supposedly. I did not see the actual taking but I’m sure videos will be out there. Well I have followed for a couple weeks. My observations of the live streams show such friendly happy loving people coming together for their freedoms. No violence. No one has been arrested. These videos are now see all over our globe. I watched the David(Viva)Frei live-stream videos of the many loving, caring, and peaceful Canadians at the mandate protest in Ottawa. I was filled with an uplifting feeling of respect for these people but also filled with patriotic pride. This is so much more than just about the vaccine mandates. I hope The Club is paying attention. When Americans went to the Capitol to hear a speech and to gather in peaceful protest, there were no intentions of “storming the capitol”. That was an intelligence operation that was planned in advance, and used to abuse every Trump supporter. The only person who was killed was a Trump supporter – ruthlessly killed by a Capitol Police Officer with an attitude who should be in jail for life. So I checked the stats on the dreaded and powerful RCMP.
Apparantly it is made up of 11,000 members.
Has 5,500 cars and 2,350 trucks and 34 motorcycles with 481 snowmobiles and 181 all terrain vehicles.
They also have over 3,000 civilian members and I wonder whose side those people will be on.
They do not exactly seem to be a bunch that have the man power or the armament to strike terror in the hearts of these Truckers, Farmers and Cowboys riding hard on Ottawa.

The intent is to intimidate.
During the G20 Summit in Toronto, in 2010, there was a large protest.
Over 1100 protesters were arrested. People were detained outdoors in the cordoned off area, they called it kettling.
In an area of downtown Toronto, a wire fence was erected on the street, where they detained the protesters and others –in heavy rain, lightning and cold. They were detained for four hours.
I recall one man, who lived in the area, a passerby, was also caged, had his prosthetic leg removed and thrown on the ground, leaving him immobile.
This occurred under then Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair. He is currently Trudeau’s Minister of Public Safety and Preparedness.
At that time, the police used an obscure law to detain & arrest 1100 protesters. The Law – is The Public Works Protection Act, Ontario. It covers an area inside a designated – security zone.
The police are given wide powers to – search & detain within that security zone. A warrantless search of any person entering or attempting to enter, and any vehicle.
There was a public outcry, over mass roundups in breach of civil rights, in contravention of Charter Rights.
45 police were charged with misconduct.
Of the detainees – 326 prosecuted, 2/3 had charges stayed, withdrawn or dismissed, only 48 pleaded guilty.
Detainees filed a Class Action lawsuit, it was settled for 16.5 million.
Police Chief Blair did not face any disciplinary hearings.
I’m sure that Blair is involved in the current situation in Ottawa.
This time he didn’t invoke the obscure Public Works Protection Act. Probably since their was backlash from the media & public. As far as I know the Law remains on the books.
It was a couple days ago that I said they should get all those trucks out of that city. Of course, they didn’t have to go far. Maybe 10 miles out. Now, it’s gonna be a tad harder to “protest” in an urban setting where movement is tougher. The US convoys should use this situation as a learning moment. This is one battle….
They could move to the border crossings and block them all…it is harder to crush a revolt that is diversified all over the border…
SWAT teams are clearing out and confiscating the trucker’s supply.
