Jordan self describes as a ‘classical liberal’. An honourable position.
Most Americans don’t have a clue what that means other than seeing the word “liberal” and salivating.
Classical liberals might often not be publicly Christian enough for the the CTH crowd, hence some resentment.
That interview is a beautiful thing, if you didn’t get new perspectives from it….well…..
How did you construct your research to confirm that most Americans don’t have a clue what that means?
Essentially all authentically conservative Americans are committed to the basics of due process, equal protection and settling our worst differences via reliable voting procedures, all of which are results of the enlightenment and the age of reason.
That group would include the perhaps 80 million who voted against the current regime in the last election and most of those folks are people of faith of varying degree.
80 million is a clear majority of the voting US public who seem to clearly understand and live classical, tolerant liberalism whether or not they debate terms around the kitchen table.

My personal observation that Jordan’s lack of professed Christianity might cause some / many here to therefore resent his message was, it seems, accurate.
This is an analysis of Peterson’s deep affinity for Christian thought.
But, hearing his views unfiltered during the original conversation with Rogan may be of interest.
I have never been much of an evangelist but perhaps you are a seeker, perhaps not but we should at least investigate what Peterson thinks about the subject.

You’re missing my point.
Jordan like anyone with an IQ above the room temperature of course understands that Judeo-Christian values led to the triumph of Western culture over all others.
My point was exactly about some constipated Christians, who I read on this thread, who seem to resent Jordan , I theorise that’s likely because he isn’t publicly referencing their god as his baseline.
There is absolutely no point in discussing religion, it comes down to subjective belief, not one of my characteristics and it’s unarguable.
Classical Liberal is basically what the Republican Party is.
And the problem is, classical liberalism has an inherent Achilles’ heel as far as Marxism is concerned. When we see “cuckservatives” constantly giving in to the Left, it’s not some sort of defect, but rather a classical liberal impulse.
The so-called “Enlightenment” needs to be rejected as a failure. Everything good that does exist in our current civilization came about in spite of the Enlightenment, not because of it. And before the Enlightenment, Christianity was dominant, which should tell us something.

Thank you for posting this. I find Dr. Peterson a very thoughtful, ethical, and brilliant person. I have watched his entire series on the Bible. He has interesting take. I don’t necessarily agree with him on all things but Classic Liberals support the constitution. I listen to diverse opinions and make up my own mind, as it should be.
It’s nearly impossible to agree with everything anyone says or does, unless that anyone be you! And speaking from a documented and biased history , I don’t agree with everything I’ve said, written or done. Most of it yes, but all, no.
2nd Generation USA here. Proud to be of Canadian decent. I can trace the family back to leaving France in 1630. 3 cheers for the Canucks (even the French speaking ones, they make me proud)! I’m with ya cousins!
