Friends, this stuff baffles me on many levels. All around the nation various local media outlets are reporting on this massive influx of people getting tested, or trying to get tested, for COVID-19. Miles and miles of people suddenly lining up for COVID tests everywhere, it’s weird.
The media is pushing the testing aspect hard right now and hitting the Biden administration for not having a federal system in place to facilitate this massive influx of people needing COVID tests. Without a doubt, that narrative is why Biden told the media today the states have to solve the issue on their own. [More on that later]
In the interim, I asked the question on the Twitter about why people would be lining up for hours to get a COVID test now. What’s the reason? Most of the responses are generally of the same mindset as the original question with people also wondering why. I can identify only a few generally valid reasons, and even then, something still doesn’t make sense.
♦ Some people are required to take a test for work, and with the mandates now beginning to kick in, that seems to make sense. However, does this mean people have to stand in line for hours before every shift? [feel free to chime in on this one]
♦ Some people are required to take a test to travel to a destination that requires a negative test. Again, that seems to make sense, I guess. However, it still seems silly from the perspective of testing is unlikely to stop any infection that can happen at any given moment.
Other than ‘being required’ to take a test for the two reasons above, why would anyone take one?
Why would perfectly healthy people, asymptomatic people, line up to take a COVID test? Is this a reflection of mass delusion as a result of government and media driven fear?

So ‘Dave’ is not sick, doesn’t feel sick, is going to visit people 500 miles away, and wants to find out if he’s COVID positive? Because why?…
Then there’s this response, which is even more nuts, but I appreciate the brutal honesty:
“I can answer this because I live in the Lib Death Star known as Brownstone Brooklyn. They are doing this to tell friends and family whether they are ‘safe’ to be around. It’s an elaborate handshake among the Covidians.” (link)
The White House previously attempted to gain some political advantage with the COVID Omicron panic by declaring “a winter of death” awaits the unvaccinated. It appears to me this administration is now going to reap a massive amount of backlash over a panic they created. Once again proving the axiom that every statement, policy or recommendation, that Joe Biden advocates is the exact opposite of what should be done.
The White House has ordered 500 million test kits for them to distribute saying, “In cases where infected people show symptoms or not, testing is the only way to find out if they have the virus so they can avoid being out and about and potentially spreading the disease.” This would imply the only reason to test is to find out if you are infected, yet if you are asymptomatic (not showing symptoms) then why test?
Could it be the hysteria cannot remain in place if there isn’t a new layer of fear of some sort? As Jordan Schachtel notes: ” COVID cases are the engine of COVID Mania. Take away the testing, and the “crisis” disappears. See: every single nation in the world that doesn’t test widely for COVID. They’re doing just fine with the “plague” issue.”

Precisely. A friend told me they had allergies prior to a Christmas Eve dinner with two other couples. The friend got tested before attending dinner, “just to be sure”. Most people (also whom I know)- left their 90 year old parents alone for Xmas because they had the sniffles.
The bullish….. needs to stop. There’s no living, no freedom, no fricken sense to any of it. I’m as I’m sure you are feeling quite dismayed at American’s who are behaving like sheep. Lazy? Selfish? Excuses? Fear? Either way, I was done with this thinking in March of 2020.
Just anecdotal but, in my case we went to visit inlaws for Christmas this weekend and basically mother-in-law (who is actually a Republican) but elderly shamed my wife into requiring a negative COVID test before coming. I saw someone a while ago who is quite good and I agree with usually, saying that the positive results at higher amplification have now shown to be recovered people, as they have done blood tests on some of these people and it showed past infection.

When we were young we worried terribly about trying to make the rent and then the house payment.
My brother and his wife still tell the story about eating eggs and carrots for a week to make the house payment.
They would be short of money but had a neighbor that gave them eggs and carrots so that is what they ate three meals a day some times to make money streatch.
They did not have their children until they were more stable and could manage the house payments and the groceries too.
Our staple was peanut butter and oatmeal.
I was able to buy a huge almost gallon tin of peanut butter and gobs of oatmeal at this one small local store and we made many meals out of that.
I do not understand how people can be so cavalier about going to work, what kind of employer can afford to keep paying people to not work.

Not in Connecticut. A friend has been helping his wife who contracted COVID a couple of weeks ago. Despite his best efforts to dodge it, he started feeling poorly during day 9 of caring for her.
He had to go to the emergency room to get tested (positive). All of the local testing centers were booked for a week or more. Home tests are backordered for even longer.
Why haven’t folks gotten ivermectin from AFLDS or FLCCC to be prepared to treat this early? People sure aren’t thinking much, just listening to ghe media and being afraid.

I got my Ivermectin from Push Health. They charge $70 for the “visit” and then refer you to a doctor or NP who will give you the prescription.
Then you have to find a pharmacy that will fill the prescription which I was able to do locally. There are online pharmacies too that will fill it. I paid $125 for 25 pills which should get me through 5 days if I need it.
I was going to buy IVMTN from India but the Post Office is confiscating the packages. Also I was concerned about what I was getting.
Please know that you can still get Quercetin over the counter at vitamin stores and places that sell supplements.

I had Fox Business on in the background the other day while I was doing some things around the house. I had to turn the channel. Guy Benson, who’s supposedly a conservative, was filling in for Kennedy, and had a long segment on how terrible it was that Biden hadn’t gotten more tests available and hadn’t done so quickly enough. The republicans and dem on the panel then argued back and forth about whether it was Biden’s fault or not. The entire premise was that we need to test, test, test, and that must be coming down from the top at Fox. My question is the same as Sundance’s: why? It’s idiotic to test people who aren’t sick, and fairly pointless even if someone has symptoms. If you have symptoms, treat them. Testing and contact tracing is just prolonging this nonsense.

The Covid testing line in Fort Myers,Florida was insanely long today and has been for days. I would guess that the people at the end of the line would be there for at least 2 hours or more.
I also can’t rationalize why people would wait that long to take a test when they are not sick and rely on this test to be accurate. This is a mass psychosis that was created by evil people.

Suburb of Chicago here. I have a testing station near my home. On the day after Christmas there was a line around the building.
All of the local news stories are about how contagious Omicron is and none of them talk about how mild it is. The msm, NIH, CDC have completely ignored data from Africa on how mild it is.
My theory is people have been conditioned to only look at case numbers and they freak out and think they are going to die because this variant is so contagious. Hence they all want to get tested.
That’s one of the reasons why the government has pushed testing so hard and created this entire asymptomatic nonsense. Which, and maybe I’m stupid, but I had never heard the term until this pandemic but I think it’s a way to inflate the number of cases.

I’m in Scotland where we are allotted 14 lateral flow tests per month. If you test positive then you report for a PCR test which is more accurate. If that is positive , then you must isolate and also become part of the Track and Trace which means every person you have been near has to isolate too. You are expected to test even if you have no symptoms. I test myself if I will be with others in an enclosed space. I should also mention that , throughout this pandemic hysteria , we (myself and disabled son ) have tried to get exposure in order to acquire natural immunity- we are not jabbed and are maskless . The only rationale I can see is that you will not spread it by testing . However , I’m a Let It Ripper looking for herd immunity which we will never get with the jabbed infected and transmitting. In the meantime , the GPs are still not opened , the NHS isn’t working , the private hospitals are jammed and people are dying of undiagnosed ailments and the population has been prone to mental health pressures. The cases are rising and we are in lockdown again…businesses like restaurants cannot stay open with social distances or shops with more staff than allowed customers.

It is a self administered test….box has 7 tests…swab both nostrils with Q tip …place swab in provided liquid for a minute…squeeze liquid into a small flat device…if one line …you are clear…two lines are positive….takes two minutes. Care homes demand the test before entry. BTW tests are made in China and nothing in it is biodegradeable .

My guess is that some want to test positive so they can extend their holiday vacation for an extra 5 days or so under the guise of not infecting their co-workers. Either that or they’re just plain nuts.
I posted something similar upthread about work. One of my daughters office has the virus going around- she is a pureblood and hasn’t fallen ill. Most of the cases are vaxxed, a couple of pure bloods. She told me tonight that one of her coworkers has to take Family Medical Leave (without pay) for the duration of recovery. This person has been out over a week, with no vacation time left. I was actually surprised, and applaud the company for doing so. This nonsense has gone on long enough.
We used home Antigen tests and confirmed with PCR because we wanted the monoclonal antibodies as soon as possible if we were positive. I wasn’t screwing around wondering if it was Covid or not. Couldn’t care less about visiting right now, don’t care to hang around the ultra vaxxed family either.

We spent Christmas day with the extended family of a close friend. There were three generations of us. No masks, no distancing, no testing, no asking if vaccinated (I am not and never will be). There were over 30 people and we had a blast. On the other hand, my son, daughter in law and their daughter are all sick with “covid”. The irony is that I am not allowed to be in their house because I am not vaccinated. I’m not taking a victory lap, but we think they got covid from my mother in law’s mother who is fully vaccinated.

Yes, I’m aware of certain bluecovidians taking a covid test prior to holiday festivities so they can appear safe and clean and concerned. The people that got covid after being fully vaxxed and boosted are angry about getting it. I have stayed away from pointing out the absurdity of their situation because they really do need to come around to the truth on their own. I will tell them to remember that this is an experimental injection and that we don’t fully know what the long term impact will be. I try not to rub it in their faces , no one responds well to that.
Having a hard time right now. Know three friends in their 60s. One dying of abdominal cancer (out of no where), the other two having nerve conduction tests for knee/leg numbness, muscle spasms, and inability to stand for any length of time. Neither my husband nor I have never been tested and have no intention of doing so. The testing is so questionable – fraught with false-positives, not to mention – who cares??? This is like an incredibly far-fetched C-grade movie that gets worse and worse and more unbelievable. Yet people are still running scared, cowering in their vehicles – alone – masked. It’s becoming hard to even remotely relate to the idiocy around us. We just try to continue to live our lives, see friends and family, and basically fortify ourselves in our faith and belief in our freedom. We’ve found our hill and are firmly in place.
My Christian sister cancelled our family togetherness 15 minutes after Fauci told everyone not to get together for Christmas. Her church still wears masks. I’m ashamed of her type of Christianity. My Bible says we are not to live in fear. My city in southern Wisconsin doesn’t wear masks in the stores but CVS is out of test kits and I see people getting the Covid shot every time I’m in there. It’s a touch and go, hit or miss type situation. Not cut and dried about how everyone feels about Covid. Definitely not requiring the masking for stores but seeing many people wearing them.
In 40 years of university teaching, one of the fundamental methodological guidelines that I drilled into students is that the one explanation sure to be wrong is the monocausal explanation. If there are a hundred people in line, look for a hundred different dynamics to be in play. Let’s not fall into the Left’s mindset by chalking up what we are seeing to herd behavior.

Okay, I’ve been home alone since Thursday. Was sick, assumed it was flu. I did no test and took meds as needed. Feeling better today. Lots of people around here saying they and there family had/have Covid. Many of the folks took the test. Some had to get on waiting lists in medical offices to do so? Why not just assume it’s a possibility and begin meds? I will say, I could not find a pharmacy, chain or independent, that would fill Ivermectin prescription. It was actually filled out of state! I was told squeeze is on to choke out distribution. Lots of scared people around here. It really irritates the hell out of me.

Down under in my neck of the woods its a very strange thing. The testing site is always full, cars lined up on one side waiting to be tested, and cars parked on the other side, waiting for results? Down the road from me they’ve turned the local Salvation Army church into an injection center and from what I’ve seen the place is always empty. Strange.
The only thing I can think of is the media are pushing getting tested, that seems to be the main focus over this holiday season. So the people obediently go and get tested? What next? The media start telling people to get injected? If that be the case I’ll be keeping an eye on the Salvo’s church site, if that place all of a sudden starts filling up with cars then …WOW!

I have an entirely different perspective. We can argue about the accuracy of the tests, but at this time it is the best way to know if the vaccinated are contagious or not IMHO. We can’t count on Covid symptoms telling them they are sick and need to isolate. They can be highly contagious and never know it. If you’re vaccinated, you should be testing every other day to know if you have acquired the Covid or not. I think the double jabbed/boosted importers of the omicron variant have shown that 72 hours is too long of a period between testing and social interacting. We don’t need Vaccine passports. We need proof of prior infection or non vaccination in order to keep everyone safe. These self righteous vaccinated a**holes are running around infecting everyone, thinking they are holier than though.
No lines of lunatics here in west central/northwest Ohio: mainly small towns and cities c. 40,000 in population or less.
No majority in masks anywhere: a very small minority, usually old people or Afro-Americans will be seen in masks in stores or restaurants.
In fact, the news today is that hospitalizations in all of Ohio are trending downward.
You need to shadow me in my Central Ohio Kroger to appreciate all of the masked glares coming my way lol.

My town hall was crazy busy today with people running for their covid test. It was bizarre. While sitting at the traffic light I watched people running to the testing site that was set up in the parking lot. I thought to myself thank goodness I grew up with two alcoholic, drug addicted parents who liked to beat each other up physically and mentally. Gave me a head start to understand abuse. I broke that chain and am mentally stronger then all my friends who grew up being coddled. Abuse is abuse is abuse and this government has been abusive. Saddest thing to me about all of this covid head game is that so many people are unaware of how they are being mentally abused by their own government and not just here but all around the world.
I call b.s. on the reports. Why? Because my now default assumption is that every narrative advanced is Information Warfare.

I think about the people I know, and the people in contact with those of us who are completely unafraid of a cold. They are lucky to hear from the unafraid.
One of my mum’s friends keeps saying she should cancel their lunch date because she’s worried that everyone she knows is sick. Mum said to her, “I’m not scared, come over anyway”. Mum’s friend is surrounded by fearful people. Her friend is lucky to have my mum showing her an alternative.
And I know a number of people in this situation. Surrounded by fear, with only a rare person showing the alternative. Imagine if they didn’t have this rare person in their lives, how many more would be insane… So keep speaking to your scared family and friends. Show them the way.

I’m in Alabama for a bit. Nothing to report here. People that want to wear masks do so, people that don’t, don’t. Our local urgent care office doesn’t even require a mask but many other doctors do.
I had to go to this urgent care office in mid December just when Omicron was starting to make noise. I had most all the symptoms but not all. The LPN that came in first asked if I wanted a Covid test. She wasn’t even masked. I said I didn’t think I had Covid but sure go ahead. She said I could decline but if I tested positive the result would have to be reported to the state health department. I didn’t care.
They only administer the rapid test. It came back in 20 minutes as negative and I saw the doctor.
Life goes on here pretty much as normal. No restrictions and no hysteria.
