Friends, this stuff baffles me on many levels. All around the nation various local media outlets are reporting on this massive influx of people getting tested, or trying to get tested, for COVID-19. Miles and miles of people suddenly lining up for COVID tests everywhere, it’s weird.
The media is pushing the testing aspect hard right now and hitting the Biden administration for not having a federal system in place to facilitate this massive influx of people needing COVID tests. Without a doubt, that narrative is why Biden told the media today the states have to solve the issue on their own. [More on that later]
In the interim, I asked the question on the Twitter about why people would be lining up for hours to get a COVID test now. What’s the reason? Most of the responses are generally of the same mindset as the original question with people also wondering why. I can identify only a few generally valid reasons, and even then, something still doesn’t make sense.
♦ Some people are required to take a test for work, and with the mandates now beginning to kick in, that seems to make sense. However, does this mean people have to stand in line for hours before every shift? [feel free to chime in on this one]
♦ Some people are required to take a test to travel to a destination that requires a negative test. Again, that seems to make sense, I guess. However, it still seems silly from the perspective of testing is unlikely to stop any infection that can happen at any given moment.
Other than ‘being required’ to take a test for the two reasons above, why would anyone take one?
Why would perfectly healthy people, asymptomatic people, line up to take a COVID test? Is this a reflection of mass delusion as a result of government and media driven fear?
Seriously, what gives?
This response from the line in Orlando, Florida seems nuts:
“Well, I’m heading out of town to Kentucky to visit some family, and I hear omicron has really picked up and is spreading pretty fast,” Orange County resident Dave Roseford said. “So I wanted to go ahead and make sure I had the best guard against that.” (link)
So ‘Dave’ is not sick, doesn’t feel sick, is going to visit people 500 miles away, and wants to find out if he’s COVID positive? Because why?…
Then there’s this response, which is even more nuts, but I appreciate the brutal honesty:
“I can answer this because I live in the Lib Death Star known as Brownstone Brooklyn. They are doing this to tell friends and family whether they are ‘safe’ to be around. It’s an elaborate handshake among the Covidians.” (link)
The White House previously attempted to gain some political advantage with the COVID Omicron panic by declaring “a winter of death” awaits the unvaccinated. It appears to me this administration is now going to reap a massive amount of backlash over a panic they created. Once again proving the axiom that every statement, policy or recommendation, that Joe Biden advocates is the exact opposite of what should be done.
The White House has ordered 500 million test kits for them to distribute saying, “In cases where infected people show symptoms or not, testing is the only way to find out if they have the virus so they can avoid being out and about and potentially spreading the disease.” This would imply the only reason to test is to find out if you are infected, yet if you are asymptomatic (not showing symptoms) then why test?
Could it be the hysteria cannot remain in place if there isn’t a new layer of fear of some sort? As Jordan Schachtel notes: ” COVID cases are the engine of COVID Mania. Take away the testing, and the “crisis” disappears. See: every single nation in the world that doesn’t test widely for COVID. They’re doing just fine with the “plague” issue.”
Let me ask you, what’s going on around your town?

Currently in Houston for appointments. At the hotel, 30% of the guests opted for packaged plastic silverware in the restaurant, this morning. Those same folks were masked up and would stand to the side if anyone even thought about crossing their path.

I got tested to confirm the nasty cold I picked up in Hawaii was indeed covid. And it was, yippee!

My sister and her husband were leaving to fly to Miami to catch a Norwegian cruise line ship to the Caribbean. The cruise requires a negative Covid test, so they got one before they flew to Miami. They will be tested again before they get on the boat. If they are positive then, they will be reimbursed. They are floating along now, so apparently all was well!

Just today the Visit Music City who sponsors the huge Nashville Big Bash NYE Open Air FREE Concerts/Fireworks here in Nashville announced not ONLY a “Valid” Test with a Negative result to get into the OUTDOOR NYE Events BUT they must be 48 hrs or less old!!
There are going to be 250,000PLUS ppl here for this thing (as there are every year). No mention of the City of the VMC group setting up Testing Sites downtown.
There are ppl coming or already here who have spent THOUSANDS of $$ to attend this thing and this gets announced just a few days before. Right now this Dem run City has TWO–only TWO Testing Sites open and available. The lines are extremely long for some reason.
This MSG also got around the ban on asking ppl to show a Vaccine Card (Special Session Legislature just passed that as a LAW) by saying that ppl can avoid having to Test IF they want to “voluntarily show their Vaccine card”.
This could turn into a total trainwreck with ppl denied access to the very place they had already planned and paid a TON of $ to attend on NYE. Hopefully these nitwits rescind this tomorrow OR set up many, many temp Testing places all over Downtown.
This City is run by reactionary liberal idiots and it shows frequently.
I think it has to do with the whole “blame” culture surrounding this thing.
The long lines are ripe for someone with whiterose stickers and a set of cojones to walk up unmasked and unafraid to shock their media bubbles with the naked truth by putting a “truth” sticker on the windshield of each car in line tight in front of the drivers.
Most of these lines spill over into public spaces (i.e., so not trespassing on the private property of the medical establishment).
It seems silly, but it is a practical way to attack these lies.
Drove past a local “free testing “ facility recently opened in my very right leaning, heavy Trump supporting area where hardly anyone wears masks, ever. On a Wednesday afternoon @1:30pm, the line was around the building. Baffled, I looked closely at the people and the parking lot only to see people, cars, license plates that are not from and don’t belong in this area.
My thought is they are Soros sponsored out of work rioters and agitators now paid to stand in lines and contribute to the new narrative.
The only time it would ever make sense to subject oneself to covid testing is if one was severely sick and trying to determine the cause of the severe sickness.
There is no reason for asymptomatic and mildly sick people to get tested for covid except to drive up the number of reported covid cases and use those reported cases as an excuse for tyrannical covid mandates.
My liberal sister convinced my entire family, with the exception of myself, that we needed to get covid tested before getting together for Christmas.
I didn’t want to get tested, but my entire family bought into my liberal sister’s pro-testing argument and they wouldn’t allow me to gather with them for Christmas unless I took a covid test.
Since I wanted to hang out with my family, I had to take the covid test that my liberal sister wanted me to take.
It was an at home test. I would not have taken it if it wasn’t an at home test as I live in Illinois and the Illinois governor likes to use any and all reported covid tests as an excuse for increased covid tyranny.
I tested negative for covid, but I would have been perfectly happy if I had tested positive because then I would know that I had covid antibodies.
I’ve probably have already had covid anyway.
