New York – New York Gov. Kathy Hochul issued a state of emergency order on Friday in response to the identification of the COVID-19 omicron variant.
The emergency order is intended to increase hospital capacity in New York and will last until at least Jan. 15, when it will be reassessed.
According to a copy of the order, the state will utilize the “surge and flex system,” which allows the Department of Health to limit non-essential and non-urgent hospital procedures in situations where a hospital has less than 10% staffed bed capacity. (read more)

Since a patient on a ventilator takes a bed (-1 available), then where the heck did the other beds go? We know hospitals are getting tons of subsidies (money is going to healthcare hand over fist), and those beds aren’t going to COVID patients?
I think we here at CTH know, it’s because of staffing levels, i.e. nurses quitting and hospitals having to reduce availability. Those beds physically exist, but can’t hold a patient because the hospitals forced their staff out.

Hospital bed shortages also occur when they put a patient on a three or five day course of Remdesivir, two days in to admittance from the ER for “observation” and who did NOT meet the criteria (on supplemental oxygen and O2 levels </= 92). THAT ties up a bed for an actual sick person that much longer! Patient had O2 levels 94-97% and was not on supplemental O2! Upon meeting the over-zealous nurse practitioner, she could not support her reasoning. One health care worker commented that she thought the patient was so “lucky” to get such meds! Can’t-wait-to-get-my-sixth-booster crazies are on the hospital payrolls apparently.
Firsthand experience this past week. Even after the patient said the day before no Remdesivir, they snuck it in claiming ignorance to the wishes told the day before. The Remdesivir doses were the ONLY thing keeping said patient in the hospital for an additional three days. Patient was released when family stopped the ruse.
Lesson learned…put patient’s wish in writing on the patient whiteboard at minimum, especially if it is not possible to be in the room 24/7.

Not specifically, but a pathologist linked to by someone a few months ago had a speech where they showed how they’ve seen the spike protein in every organ throughout the body.
I personally don’t have a feel for if it’s just completely random or if there is some underlying disease/genetic predisposition to how the vax will affect different organs.
