New York – New York Gov. Kathy Hochul issued a state of emergency order on Friday in response to the identification of the COVID-19 omicron variant.
The emergency order is intended to increase hospital capacity in New York and will last until at least Jan. 15, when it will be reassessed.
According to a copy of the order, the state will utilize the “surge and flex system,” which allows the Department of Health to limit non-essential and non-urgent hospital procedures in situations where a hospital has less than 10% staffed bed capacity. (read more)

Note the parse-tounge: the critical staffing shortage is the result of… staff shortages… caused by the pandemic. How or why this is the case is not explained.
The actual cause of the shortage is the “vaccine” mandate for healthcare workers. There was no shortage in 2020, when Massachusetts reported over 4,000 hospitalizations at one point. The current “crisis” is solely the result of the mandate, nothing else.
Honestly no one should go to a hospital unless it is absolutely necessary….they will kill you with the ventilators etc.
I am so tired of all the COVID measures here in New York. Everyone I talk to is sick of the restrictions. It feels like this will never end. We still have mask mandates for public transport, schools and all health care facilities. New York City has a vaccine mandate for dining in restaurants and all entertainment. This emergency declaration is just the start of locking us back down. It’s inevitable. I have yet to hear of positive case in New York, but that means little. NYC is an international hub and will quickly find a positive case.
