Kyle Rittenhouse shot and killed Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber as he was being attacked by a raging mob. Rittenhouse, also fired on Gaige Grosskreutz as the attacker held a handgun toward him. Prosecutors claim that Rittenhouse was a vigilante looking for a fight. The defense, and all video of the events, show all shootings were justifiable self defense.
The trial continues today with jury instructions and closing arguments. PBS Livestream Link

In closing, Binger’s lying, saying the crowd is helpless against someone with a gun (there are an abundance of laws a legal gun owner must navigate). So, Binger must be running for office to push new laws to further hamstring the lawful.
Binger is painting thugs as “heroes” trying to disarm an active shooter.
I feel like throwing up.
Yep……Binger is a gaslighter, like ALL the rest. He wants you to believe that day is night and night is day…..don’t believe your lyin’ eyes. “Cranium him” is code for “stop the “active shooter”….[\sarcasm]
Now, isn’t that funny. Apparently some folks with allegiance to Antifa thought that the entire City of Kenosha was “helpless against someone with a gun,” until they encountered a young man with a gun who actually knew how to use the thing. From this unexpected encounter, three people learned three important lessons:
(1) “Do not grab the barrel of someone else’s gun from three feet away.”
(2) “Do not bring a skateboard to a gunfight.”
(3) “Do not ‘bluff’ with a gun, especially when you are outgunned.”
(2) ROLMAO…
2 with Darwin awards.
You almost made me spit out my vodka martini! How dare you?!!! (channeling the corrupt leftist midget)
Binger legit doesn’t know this stuff. He POINTED KYLE’S AR at the JURY in OPEN COURT without checking it! His damned finger was on the TRIGGER, no trigger discipline.
He only failed to pull a Baldwin due to the gun not actually being loaded this time.
Binger after he finds out that Rittenhouse is acquitted should go on a Binge. Wondering who hired this clown to represent the city of Kenosha for legal matters.
Do you have a link to a photo of this?!! If I was sitting in the jury box and got swept like that, I would not be able to keep my mouth shut!
A bit late, but here it is
Did the judge say anything when Binger pointed the gun?
Again. Isn’t gun safety rule #1 – NEVER POINT A GUN AT ANYONE/ANYTHING YOU DO NOT WISH TO KILL (especially with your finger on the trigger)? No matter WHO gives it to you and promises you it is not loaded?
I had that happen to me on a jury in the early 80’s. The female prosecutor aimed a hand gun across the entire jury box. It did make an impression on the attempted murder of police officer charge. I’ll never forget it. Later the charge was persistent felon. I assumed this gun pointing would no longer be allowed. Shocked.
Binger ran for state’s attorney in Racine County in 2016, and lost. He’s probably planning to try for something again, if he wins this.
I admit that I haven’t been following this very closely, but wasn’t Rittenhouse threatened with a gun by one of the Antifa thugs? So it’s okay if you threaten someone with a gun, but you can’t actually use it to shoot them?
Amazing how much insanity, hypocrisy, and outright lying it takes to defend one group’s rights over another groups!
A mob can beat you to death and these Antifa guys would’ve done so to Kyle if he had not shot the skateboard guy. Antifa run in packs for a reason. If Kyle had lost consiousness or lost the gun he would’ve been overwhelmed and killed.
And the thugs would walk free, never be charged.
I tried to watch the weasel ADA for 2 minutes and it only made the soft tissue damage in my thoracic spine hurt worse. What I could gather is he was saying Kyle had no regard for people or objects behind his targets, and that anyone who hunts or target practices has to know where their rounds are traveling.
While Binger himself pointed the rifle towards the jury with his finger on the trigger.
“You lose the right to claim self defence, when you’re the one that brought the gun.”
Sums up the attitude of those who are anti-2A.
So, WHERE does it say THAT, in either the Constitution, or 200 + years of jurisprudence?
So, you have the “right” to carry, but if you actually use it to DEFEND yourself, you somehow “lose” the right to self defence?
Lets see, not carrying a gun, limited opportunity to defend yourself, especially if your assailants IS armed (and at least one of his was).
But, IF you are carrying a gun, you can’t USE it, to defend yourself cause if you do, you somehow “lose” the right to self defence.
Makes almost as much sense as girls with dicks, climate change or any of the other bullshirt these idiots are promulgating, and far too many are believing.
I pray the jury are not intimidated, and aquit.
Even if they do, this young mans life will NEVER be the same, as is the case whenever anyone uses a deadly force to defend themselves,..
District of Columbia v. Heller (2008).
By a 5-4 vote, the Supreme Court held that D.C.’s handgun ban violated an individual’s Second Amendment right to bear arms for lawful purposes such as self-defense.
One hopes the defense had someone getting the citation/quote over lunch.
That was infuriating! I hope some of the jurors are gun owners.
“Makes almost as much sense as girls with dicks” I’m filing that gem away for later.
They are trying to alter the laws. Another effort was charging Mark and Patricia McCloskey for defending their home, and lives, from Antifa/BLM of the FBI who had broken down their gate and were making death threats to them. The prosecution just would not drop the case which was draining McCloskey’s finances.
You hit the nail on the head!
That’s precisely the reasoning behind the communists’ lawfare technique. Drain someone’s personal finances which is very easy when done by the State or a very large corporation. This is exactly what they did to General Flynn.
Yes!
The mobsters had guns, so it is okay for them, but not Kyle?
By the standards of “self defense” (for the crowd) established by the prosecution, the crowd from which Rittenhouse was FLEEING, was not acting in self defense. If someone is running away, you can’t argue you’re defending yourself by chasing him down, causing him to fall, hitting him with things and pointing a gun at him.
I can’t shoot a home invader in the back in Florida!!!
The prosecution is lying with impunity and the defense just takes it and has been taking it the entire trial. Very few objections. The prosecution is vile. I really hope that they hit back extremely hard on this closing argument with the jury.
He’s not lying but framing a narrative and doing a good job framing Kyle into an aggressors.
Hopefully defense will show how the real aggressors chasing Kyle.
Actually he has lied. He’s mistated the law several times. And he’s said things that aren’t in evidence or are contradicted by the evidence. Such as stating incorrectly the position of Rosenbaum’s hand on Kyle’s gun, to make it seem like he was batting it away, not grabbing it. That was a factual lie.
Robert Barnes has been pretty certain the Richards is doing the closing. Ugh.
The defense is as weak as the feckless RINOs and Uniparty Republicans. Good grief.
Sean Davis @seanmdav
The prosecutor is just reciting the new left-wing dogma: left-wing violence is always allowed, while self-defense against left-wing violence is not.
Under the current regime, you don’t have rights so much as you have a duty to be a victim of left-wing mob violence.
Sound bites that the MSM will use.
Burns me up, Binger calling Kyle a fake EMT. What a bastard Binger is.
Stop the bleeding, restore the breathing, protect the wound and treat for shock. Not a hard concept and a 17 year old could understand.
This trial is hard to watch because the Democrat Prosecution just spews lie after lie, but i’m not sure what else anyone can expect out of the American Justice System, the most corrupt system in the world. Kyle should walk free after this, he was 100 justified in killing those azzholes. That said, where the hell is his parents? They failed their child in a big, big way. The worst thing anyone can do is to make Kyle out to be some hero after this, because he is no hero. I hope Kyle gets the psychological help he clearly needs to live as normal of a life as possible after all of this.
I’ve been praying for Kyle. He has PTSD, and now he gets this evil bastard condemning him. Those lies ringing in his ears.
I feel so badly for this young man. I have a son his age, which maybe is why this case has angered me so much. I really, really hope the jury does the right thing and that everyone prays for him
So many say “Kyle should have never been there” without adding “He should have never HAD to be there.”
So many say “Kyle was playing do-gooder” without at least admitting “I’d be lucky to have such a skilled young man to help me, if I was in need.”
I pray Kyle can heal and move on and ahead in his life.
I agree. I would want him on my side if I ever needed help. W/that argument, none of them should have been there. Kyle had a “right” to be there just as much as anyone else. It does get tiresome.
We all need to be praying for him! I am!
His parents are divorced, he was raised w/two sisters by a single mother that works a CNA type job, not big money to raise 3 kids on. At one point they were homeless. Kyle has a relationship w/his father but apparently a bit of a deadbeat. Kyle has been drawn to Firefighters and Police as a young kid, whether that is because he is looking for male leadership lacking from his father, or he just wants to learn how to have a career in public service I don’t know. It used to be when kids were drawn to Firemen and Cops it was admirable, now they get accused of being little militia monsters.
His mother has been there everyday, and his sister on some days. Based on the videos I have seen of Kyle w/all his restraints, and him trying his best to turn himself into police, as well as his mom taking him to the police the next day, I would say they have done the right and best things they could do in their situation. I am not sure what you mean his parents have failed him.
Kyle could be any kid in America getting caught up in today’s societal B.S.. Look at Charlottesville Aug 12th, many people went there just to be there, to be part of it w/out having an agenda, just wanted to see what it was like. A woman got run over.
The major difference is Kyle had the courage and guts, and self-control to do what he had to do to defend himself. Poor kid is being used as a tool against the entire agenda and the purpose of the 2A. When I was in high school way back when we had kids w/guns on their gun rack in their truck. It was normal and now if a high schooler wants to be around guns he is a devil.
I agree, he will need some serious support and counseling when this is over. It would be nice if some rich fat cat stepped up to the plate to help this family out.
I’m not a rich fat cat, not by far, but I’d be delighted to contribute, if there is a reputable fundraising effort going on?
This is the one Mrs. Rittenhouse has requested donations thru. https://www.freekyleusa.org
Thanks!!
Contrair Maggie, Kyle IS a hero. He was trying to clean up the “mess” the rest of us have allowed to happen. It is known as the DNC and the demonic forces they have funded, fueled & unleashed on this once great nation.
Pretty quick, aren’t ya now to blame the parents and call for “psych”help, which sadly, often makes matters worse.
Leavemygunsalone actually answered you in a much more informed & civilized manner. I”m just tired of the “experts” who can’t see the plank in their own eye but sure can spot the speck in someone else’s …….
Amen. He is a hero.
Chaos Tourists?
Serious clown show now. The persecutor wants the jury to believe the city did all they could to stop the nightly riots, but chaos tourists.
Shame there isn’t some police force that could stop chaos tourists in their tracks.
That was pretty funny. What a bozo.
If your’re a leftist you can put yourself in a “situation’ else you can’t.
Some of the stuff this asshat is saying is just propaganda to infiltrate the brain’s of people who can’t think for themselves, they will make great soundbites. *SPIT*
I am tired of hearing that Kyle came from far away IL. 15 minute drive to a town where he has ties.
Kyle’s father and grandmother and other family members lived in Kenosha. Kyle worked in Kenosha.
Fortunately the defense lawyer made a point to state Kyle has ties to the community and didn’t travel from Timbuktu to go be a white supremest.
Yeah, all normal behavior. What a jerk.
Binger is making it out like Kyle was out to get all the protesters.
No, clearly Kyle had a nuanced view of events. At one point, he was carrying a fire extinguisher, a medic bag, and a gun.
Like a human Swiss army knife, to deal with anything in the crowd.
He’s on the record saying and helping: “Anyone need a medic?” Patching up a shoulder, helping with a possible sprain, giving directions to the nearest medical center. Putting out fires, shouting: “Friendly, friendly, friendly!” And, in perfect self-defense, using his firearm.
security when the police abandoned the people.
I can’t listen to Binger. He is the type of guy who gives lawyers a bad name….lying, sleazy, etc. Oh, and by the way, Rosenbaum didn’t just leave a hospital….he left a mental hospital and was a convicted pedophile. Binger makes him sound like some innocent little guy with a Napoleon complex. Beyond amazing.
Which begs the question, if he has no where to go in Kenosha, why release him to the street during nights of riots?
If he was a voluntary admission, he could leave whenever he wanted. If he was involuntarily admitted, doctors would have to sign off on his release.
Rosenbaum sounds like the kind of guy who could fool the doctors into thinking he was “cured.” He was a child molester, which usually includes having the verbal skills to con a child into thinking he’s “safe.”
Fair enough, voluntary vs involuntary admission/release. I’m still of the mind, why was he admitted either way? Why after release not go far away from even the idea of being in a mental ward vs downtown to riots?
Not asking so much as asking out loud at this point sharing my suspicions.
Why after release not go far away from even the idea of being in a mental ward vs downtown to riots?
Because he’s not crazy, just evil? He wanted to get in on the carnage?
Evil fits, at the very least unstable chasing down a person carrying a rifle.
Voluntary can’t just walk out. The shrink has to sign off on them getting out. They keep the pt until they get all of the Medicaid or private insurance $$$$, then sign off. It’s a revolving door, but they keep the pt against their will until they bilk the insurance dry.
Good lawyers should make sure the bad ones are removed from practice.
I guess, in America anyway, being sane is not a requirement to be a lawyer.
You NEED to listen and understand what prosecutors will argue if you are in a self defense situation.
Binger is a time suck
Binger is a d!ck. FIFY.
When I sat on a jury we did not like snarky lawyers. They lost.
I had to be a witness for the prosecution in a trial with a snarky defense lawyer
The bad guy on trial was a pastor who was a serial sexual abuser, until he abused a friend of mine and she reported him and he ended up in prison after a horrible trial (a civil trial and a criminal trial). I suspect he’s doing a whole less abusing these days.
One of the jurors was our mailman in rural Minnesota. He had acknowledged to all law-types that he “knew me” and delivered our mail. He was approved anyway.
He told me after it was all over that one of the reasons they found the bad guy guilty on all counts was due to how the defense attorneys treated the prosecution witnesses. Absolutely slime. Manipulating. Patronizing. Twisted their questions and tried to twist my answers. Loaded their questions with assumptions about “what I knew” and “what I thought I knew”. More than once I began my answer with, “That’s not true.”
It was an absolute nightmare.
Dozens of people knew exactly what that bad guy was like. Only one other person and myself were willing to testify re the specific events, and I certainly understand why. He was also a manipulator. Even as just a witness, it was a terrible thing to endure.
What a frustrating story, I am sorry you had to go through all that. I would not want to be on the stand. You are very strong for standing up for those that couldn’t, or wouldn’t.
I am glad the guy isn’t harming anyone, but it goes to show that a jury of your peers doesn’t mean you will get a fair trial when people select your fate because they despise the lawyer.
Remember all Summer 2020, when Antifa and BLM marched and shouted to the horrified residents in their destructive path: “Lives over property!” They were flexing their legal muscle. They knew they would walk away from the scorched city blocks, if arrested, they’d be set free, charges dropped. They knew that the only charges levied would be against those who stood against them. So they shouted: “Step aside, take the beatings, watch as we burn your businesses and homes, and terrorize communities.”
And Barr did nothing. And Wray did nothing. And no one stepped in the gap – except a kid who wanted to protect his father’s town with others.
Hitler’s “Brown Shirts” and a great many other “Shirts” throughout history did exactly the same thing.
Every single one of them confidently counting upon the existence of: “Good Germans.” And nice, well-behaved, prosperous Jewish citizens in Warsaw who knew (and this was true …) that “they had not done anything wrong.”
World War III, like every other World War before it, requires a “phony war” period of … preparations.
Most of the world’s truly-great fortunes arose from providing materiél to those “great” wars.
Great points, especially the warning of phony wars (period of preparations).
barry’s army.
Who has bought up the property of all those burned down businesses? The ones where the owners weren’t able or had the cash to rebuild. Just curious.
Good questions. If you pinned the locale of each Summer 2020 riot on a US map, quite an interesting picture would emerge.
Lots of video. You’d think they could identify the rioters and prosecute. Oh, but that’s not what’s important to them. Only reason they charged Ziminski at all was to prevent his testimony.
Exactly. Suppress Ziminski’s testimony. Let’s see what becomes of Z’s charges now.
Gas $2.09. The good old days.
What I wouldn’t give for $2 gas and mean tweets
Where’s the follow button????
Binger reading transcript of what Rosenbaum said, “You know what. If I catch any of you guys blah-blah-blah.”
Legal Bytes and Rekieta Law say, “What’s the blah-blah-blah? Most important part!”
It’s called self defense, period. When he gets off,I hope he sues the lying media and Biden for calling him a white supremist. This young man is going to need a lot of therapy after this debacle of justice. My prayers are with him and his family.
Let’s all lift him up in prayer – he will feel our love and it will protect him! After the verdict we all need to keep him in our prayers and If we can support him in any and all ways possible. I have a 17 year old son (not if“like” Obama) and he is like Kyle – a patriot, good person who seeks to help others with no thought to self – Kyle is a hero ??
Amen,Father we thank you that your arms are around this young man and that he will be exonerated of all charges. We cover him with the precious blood of Jesus Christ and your Holy Spirit fill him.Father,we thank you according to your word in Psalm 68 1:3 1
May God arise, may his enemies be scattered;
may his foes flee before him.
2
May you blow them away like smoke—
as wax melts before the fire,
may the wicked perish before God.
3
But may the righteous be glad
and rejoice before God;
may they be happy and joyful.
Nothing is going on but someone was on top of a car. If someone is on top of a car and they do not belong there then something is going on.
the goal is keeping as many on the left to not see they were LIED to about EVERYTHING since 2017…
———-
so they keep the lie up, and never talk about the riots (the atmosphere that elevates the thoughts you might get killed if you get surrounded and grabbed)
This is what happens when you are not allowed to defend yourself with a gun:
https://www.oann.com/nypd-searching-for-mob-who-brutally-beat-62-year-old/
The old saw: “Better tried by 12 than carried by 6.”
I hope the jury comes back in record time, like immediately with a not guilty verdict and shut this whole thing down immediately. I also think they should have a time limit on how long closing arguments can be. What is this Congress. Ridiculous.
Judge gave each side 2 1/2 hours each.
Prosecution asked for that much. Judge seemed to be inclined to 90 minutes each, but agreed to the longer length.
Prosecutor should be finished soon.
According to Legal Insurrection, Binger took one hour and 50 minutes, so has 40 minutes for rebuttal.
He’s such a gasbag, he’ll probably use it, although he’ll have a late afternoon jury, and he appears to be repeating a few points over and over and over.
his goal- because jurors hearing that 9 of the 18 are ready to rule right now could influence them ..
not sure why there is 18 total – jst got this from the Judges hand count when he asked who wants to start today or tomorrow.
12 regular jurors and 6 alternates.
Alternates.
9 of 18 asked to start the decision today – thats got to be some indicator that have their mind made up.
I’m afraid no closing argument from either side is going to sway the jurors’ decision. I believe they have already made up their minds, because they don’t want to be attacked by the mob. There is no justice anymore.
Then God help their children when the rioters want to raze their communities in another election year.
Have faith. Getting 12 folks to agree is not an easy thing.
Dunno, I found the Defense closing pretty darn powerful. If there are some weak-kneed jurors hopefully they will change their mind after seeing it laid out right in their face.
A mob chasing me I am going to defend myself. This guy needs to pound sand, now.
Still can’t find jump kick man? They had no trouble finding Jan 6 “protestors”.
If they find Kyle guilty on reckless endangerment, then jumpkick man will jump on camera and file a lawsuit against Kenosha.
Grosskreutz had too much calm confidence — tells me that Kenosha is already planning to pay out.
Not that it bothers me. He’ll piss it away and end up worse off.
Bothers me that tax dollars used to pay out blackmailing criminals.
KenoshaCountyEye.com, I think, is digging. That’s the “blog” that Kraus (aka “Fatlock”) says is hostile to Binger.
That junkie will OD before sundown on payday. Hopefully, no LE restrain him in anyway as he foams out…
they dropped all the charges against Gross Kreutz/
Binger’s done with closing. May have reserved some time for rebuttal of defense closing.
They get a rebuttal? What happened to the concept of a “closing” argument. So will the 2 lawyers reserve time for a rebuttal of a rebuttal of a………..
Just one rebuttal each, and total time must be within limits judge set.
“Closing” means closing the case and sending it to the jury.
Thank you for that additional information.
prosecutor gets to go first and last in closing. that is the way it always is
Thank you. I had not realized that before.
Points (gestures) to the jury and says, “…People of ordinary intelligence…” Another Freudian slip indicating exactly how the leftest elite think of us ordinary people. We are more intelligent than he thinks and that is why we are always underestimated.
The correct phrase actually is “reasonable person of ordinary prudence.”
“Ordinary prudence” is the care a reasonable person would take, neither reckless or overly cautious.
You’re right, the “ordinary intelligence” slip might offend some jurors.
My hope is that the folks on the jury very well remember what their city went through during those riots.
Judge/court didn’t time prosecution’s closing arguments?!
Judge probably has a clock running, or a clerk keeping time. Binger has 40 minutes left he can use for rebuttal, if he chooses.
https://pjmedia.com/vodkapundit/2021/11/15/whoa-rittenhouse-prosecutor-thomas-binger-aims-ar-15-at-people-in-courtroom-finger-on-the-trigger-n1533105
Good Lord. Binger picked up an AR-15 and pointed it at the jury for effect.
A true fool.
Wow! That is really stunning.
What if Binger did a Baldwin ?
He should be prosecuted for reckless endangerment.
Evidently learned nothing from Alec Baldwin
Obviously never had a gun safety course.
Binger should be disbarred for this!
the sheriffs cleared it before they handed it to him. still should never point at anyone.
i think he did this punk move to make the jurors get emotion before he start using emotional manipulative words.
And the gun Baldwin used was also cleared before handing it to him. Not trying to nitpick, just pointing out that the ultimate responsibility rests on the person holding the firearm.
you are correct.
—-
we live in Animal Farm.
Yes we do.
There is no excuse for this! If I was on the jury, I’d be tempted to punch Binger.
And where is the judge?
That would infuriate me if I was one of the jurors
Headline: PROSECUTER THREATENS JURY WITH ASSAULT WEAPON THAT ALREADY HAS KILLED TWO AND WOUNDED ANOTHER!
Be nice to see on front page of the MSM.
I don’t remember where, apparently there are a whole bunch of relatives all tied together in this case w/Binger. In-laws, Sheriff, lawyers. Maybe a CTH reader that lives there knows all the connections. I was disappointed and heartbroken to read about it. Just another layer of things being stacked up agains the Kyle. Anyway, my point, nothing will happen to this POS for doing such a thing.
When you’ve got a lying, unethical prosecutor, you need bulldog defense. I’ve tried to have patience for Richards “style” but he’s just lazy. Even when he’s finally roused to object, it’s not on the key items, and he can barely muster an argument. He lifts his hands and mutters a sentence. And then lets it all go.
Kyle deserves SO MUCH MORE. Very difficult to watch.
My hope is that Binger will be hoisted on his on petard. He consistently devolves into statements that defy common sense and contradict even his own videos. And he oozes condescension.
It’s human nature to hate posers.
I keep thinking of the Casey Anthony case. They had her dead to rights, but the jury (asked after the fact ) seemed to just not like the prosecutor. That gives me hope. On the other hand, in that case, the prosecutor was pretty restrained, and defense was the blowhard – and it worked. So maybe the analogy suggests juries fall for bluster. 🙁
I just feel so much sadness for this kid. The system, and even his own advocates, are failing him.
Praying for the jury.
I agree, they have been rather milquetoast, but I thought the closing was darn persuasive, that is if you haven’t already made up your mind. I also have to say small towns do not like fancy pant lawyers coming to town w/their silk suits and all the rest, they resent it, so maybe it was better to keep the famous big time barristers away.
I feel the sadness too. It is heartbreaking.
God forgive me, but I pray each day the vaccines are filled with toxins that will render Democrats sterile, or silent within the next 5 years.
struggling with the same thoughts
Its way worse than that.
I’m getting tired of the judge humming an hahhing. He takes too long to say everything.
The defense is prejudiced by how much time the prosecution has burned today, with the aid of a longwinded judge. The defense is starting it’s closing at about 2:30-3pm. After waiting around all morning then listening to to prosecution for 2 hrs, that’s nap time.
All the worlds a stage.
Richards is starting by putting credibility of Binger to the jury. Absolutely what he had to do.
I’m slowing lifting my forehead off the table …
From Legal Insurrection:
Richards, Exhibit 18, showing that Rosenbaum wasn’t around, my client couldn’t know, chain, bag, there he is.
Binger will use this video to lie to your faces and tell you that Kyle was taking advantage.
Binger: I object.
Judge: It’s argument.
Hahahahahaha.
pipermcq
@pipermcq
Good God! Prosecutor takes the AR (an admitted exhibit), says his assistant has “ checked it to be sure it isn’t loaded.” Then, without himself opening the action to confirm unloaded, raises it and points it in the direction of the jury!
Inexcusable.

The Alec Baldwin influence.
“He [Kyle] has as much right to go there [Car Source] as anyone else and not be molested.”
Finally. Binger has essentially said that only political “protesters” had the right to be there.
? for Kyle, his defense team are complete idiots.
Branca at Legal Insurrection said Chirafisi would have been better choice, but Richards is the senior attorney.
Sometimes even a senior attorney knows his strengths and limitations. Sigh.
I’ve sometimes seen a team switch off midway. That would’ve been the way to go. Also wakes up the jury, which naturally starts to nod off midway through.
If you get summoned for jury duty, please don’t try to get excused. We get crazy jury verdicts because normal, decent people with common sense typically have work and other obligations that get disrupted by serving on a jury. So the people left are often not the kind of people who have any business judging others or people with political agendas. We need to do our part and if called, get on juries and stand firm and steer the other jurors to make the right decisions. Just like we have to start paying attention to local elections and supporting MAGA candidates, we also need to serve on juries when we are summoned.
Ugh.
I have jury duty coming up. ?
It is a drag because you have to wait to find out each day whether you go or not, that part drives me nuts, but it can be pretty interesting.
I was summoned for jury duty in the summer of 2020. I tried to get out of it but was denied and then was told not to show up because the courts were closed due to covid.
Excellent comment.
EXCLUSIVE: Prosecution’s star witness in Kyle Rittenhouse case is a career criminal with a history of domestic abuse, prowling, trespass and burglary – but had charges DROPPED just six days before trial began and jury never learned of his past
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10203911/Sole-survivor-Kyle-Rittenhouse-career-criminal-charges-dropped-just-trial.html
Love the defense’s closing argument but he is going to become “Ross” with his “have-ock!”
Pi-vot! Pi-vot!!
Should be a mistrial with prejudice for this insanity
https://www.weaselzippers.us/476496-prosecutor-in-rittenhouse-trial-aims-ar-15-at-jury-with-his-finger-on-the-trigger/
Not so sure about the second part, but like the poetic justice for three so called ‘victims’
If all that is true, how great would *that* be??!!!
I myself have wondered if there was more at play here.
Especially after his testimony that explains he is a novice firearms user.
I honestly expected him to have had prior experience in some type of action shooting disciple.
By no means was he a pipe hitter. But his performance that night was exceptional given his training and experience.
Maybe it’s just me (I hope so), but the Defense Lawyer is not a very compelling speaker?
He’s Harry Truman-like = plain spoken, a Wisconsinite, just like the jurors. And he doesn’t think feel the need to look cool and grow a soul patch.
I did not watch but given the comments here it seems the persecution used the old demonic trick of appealing to emotions.
you are correct, and he painted all the attackers as people frollicking around the park or going after an active shooter like good samaritans.
Branca at Legal Insurrection said Chirafisi would have been better choice, but Richards is the senior attorney.
Over my years as a litigator, I saw cases blown or damaged by senior attorneys who though, “Hey, I’ve still got it,” even though they hadn’t been in front of a courtroom for years. They thought they could do a quick review of the file, and ended up making mistakes that were critical to the case.
Richards at least has been there throughout the trial, and I assume (hope?) he collaborated with his colleague on the closing. Don’t know what Richards’ track record as a trial attorney is, though.
The case was over when one of the supposed victims; one armed Gaige stated while on the witness stand that Kyle had not pointed his rifle at him when his hands were up. That Kyle had fired only AFTER the now one-armed bandit pointed his own unlicensed pistol at the young man.
The case was over right then and there. Done. Should have never been brought to trial, especially with the additional video footage ‘kept from’ the Defense.
But the mayor, the DA and the newly minted lead detective ARE ALL RELATED and clearly, in absence of facts to support a conviction, had a political agenda.
ADA Pinky Binger, with all his deceitful tricks, lies, and half-truths certainly gives credence to that theory.
Tucker had a great line last week, “Rosenbaum died as he lived, trying to touch a minor.”
Wasn’t it “Trying to touch an unwilling minor?” I feel the qualifier to minor makes it punchier.
White House’s Answer on Why Joe Biden Called Kyle Rittenhouse a ‘White Supremacist’ Is Unacceptable
… ‘…White House reporter Peter Doocy asked Biden press secretary Jen Psaki today about Biden calling Rittenhouse a “white supremacist.” Her first answer was to default to the “I’m not going to comment on an ongoing trial” before she launched into an attack on “vigilantes” though she didn’t specifically refer to Rittenhouse as one (but the insinuation was clear):

White House Condemns ‘Vigilantes‘ as Kyle Rittenhouse Trial Wraps Up.
Hey President Biden…..did your vigilante son Hunter ever get his weapon back that he threw in the dumpster?

I’ve warned about half the total testimony. This closing defense testimony is horrible! It’s incoherent much of the time. He should be telling a narrative, not going through witnesses, using incomplete sentences.
I pray for Kyle.
“I’ve watched…”
He should have a narrative, but also must also be able to respond to the prosecution closing. Unfortunately, he’s only doing the second.
All the defense has to do is poke enough holes in the prosecution case to create reasonable doubt. A good narrative will do that, too.
Hmm..the panel of lawyers on you tube disagrees.
Thank God.
But, the Jurors aren’t lawyers? They’re people like us who are thinking this guy is a rambling mumbler.
Richards is babbling about the photo. This needed to be sharper.
The point is, they blurred up a picture so they could say something demonstrably false. He didn’t switch the gun to the other arm. Impossible.
Richards should accuse the prosecution of doctoring the drone video. They DID doctor the video.
He did. He called it “hocus pocus and out of focus.”
Frustrating part is dealing w/photos, videos, and slides when you are trying to speak. It is better to have someone else working the computer w/everything sync’d and ready to go. It can seem like forever when someone is having to mess around w/the computer when it is only seconds.
Huge mistake:
Trying to make a point about Gaige Grosskeurtz concealed carry, Richards says “I don’t carry and don’t think I could kill anyone, but you don’t carry a gun everywhere with you without intending to kill someone.”
I get the point. Gaige was totally disingenuous. But the prosecution only needs to repeat this on rebuttal and confuse the jury.
self defence is the focus, the rest of this is long winded foreplay.
if he doesnt get a Not Guilty, then the Defense let whoever wanted to pick every juror.
