Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

VENITE – CALL TO WORSHIP
This brief call to worship in the Matins service is based onn Psalm 95:1-7.
O come, let us sing unto the Lord:
Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving,
And make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
For the Lord is a great God,
And a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the deep places of the earth:
The strength of the hills is his also.
The sea is his, and he made it:
And his hands formed the dry land.
O come, let us worship and bow down:
Let us kneel before the Lord our maker.
For he is our God;
And we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.
Sometimes the dog get’s you. Sweetie came up to me at a restrurant. I was eting on the patio and there was this border collee going from table to table looking for food. She was dirty, obviously being on the street for awhile. Curiously, she was wearing plastic pound tags. These are place on dogs picked up on the street. According to the rules, she’s be scheduled to be killed.
At some point, as her pound tag indicated, she was going to be euthanized. Instead—and I’m just pecculating—someone saw this wonderful dog and realized she deserved another chance. And again—i’m just imagining here—some kind person at the pound decided to give this wonderful dog a secon chance and let her out a back door.
I don’t know if this actually happened or not but, sitting there on that restaurant’s patio, this border collee came up, put her head on my knee and decided that I was going to be her person. Sweetie was with us for 8 wonderful years. Long wave she wave. . .

You did a good and generous thing, Garrison.
Yes. She died quietly on our back porch. I petted her, told her she was a good dog . . .and in a little bit she was gone. Well still miss her presence in our life. She was a wonderful dog.
We had a Jack Russell , Penny, like your Sweetie. My husband went to choose a pup from a litter and said to himself that the first one to make a fuss of him would be the one. She was the runt and could barely move. But she saw him and tried with all her strength to get to him. He picked her straight away.
She’s been gone almost 20 years now, but there isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t miss her dreadfully. We’ve loved all our animal family members, but she took our hearts with her when she left.
What many people fail to realize… when a person goes to the animal shelter or the city pound to adopt a “rescue” animal.. an d this is true for both dogs and cats.. you do not choose the dog or cat, they choose you. The animals have a sense of who the prospective adoptors are and makes that connection with the person that meets their requirements. I can tell you from personal experience, this has been true every time I or my wife have adopted a pet.
We don’t even bother going to the shelter. We find cats on the street and take them in.
Both our current dogs showed up on the road down by our gate.
My husband still grumbles bc daughter and I rescue dogs on roads if we find them. He spent a long, cold, rain/snowy evening following us through a neighborhood as we carried a stinky dog Door to door looking for owner. Eventually we had another car of people and a woman with beautiful shearling coat traipsing with us. 😉
Finally found owner. Elderly woman whose carpet was replaced that morning and dog had escaped.
My 70+ sister in law and husband feed the strays in Big box store parking lot every night. Take them to vet if they can catch them when needed.
My cat was an ad cat at local pet store. His college kid owner couldn’t keep him at mom’s house. My kids were heading to college. We went to see him, looked around, couldn’t find him? Just as I asked my daughter where she thought we should look, a long white, furry arm reached out from the cage I was standing next to and his paw grabbed my wrist. He did choose me. He is warming my feet right now.
when we got him home, I thought he had an especially long, ginger cat tail. 😉 he grew into it! He is the size of a middlin’ dog!
our other cat was a barely weaned feral kitten. His sister died at 12yo but he is 20. We got them when kids were in preschool. I wanted them to realize they were not the center of the universe; they had to care for their pets. They are excellent loving and responsible young adults now. Pets enrich our lives to with so many dimensions. I think most every child needs them.
i wonder if we can all relate, no matter the political party, with our love of our pets and angst over our children?
Niiiiiice. ?
Wow. What a great story and what a great thing you did. So sad that she is now gone, but I’m sure the memories are wonderful. I 18 pound bundle of joy will be seven this month. I hope we have her with us for a long while yet. I don’t know what I’ll do when it is her time to go…..
It’s probably been eight or nine years ago now, but there is a pitbull running around our neighborhood. I knew absolutely nothing about pitties, and we have cats so I was a little concerned about letting her in the house with them.
We let her in the house when we were there, but kept her in the garage or outside at night or when we were at work.
We also rescued a young kitten at about the same time. The evening that 2 pound kitten walked up to the pit, swatted her on the nose, and we were able to stop her from reacting, we knew things were going to be OK.
That pit was the most affectionate, sweetest dog you could ever want. All she wanted was belly rubs and to be a lapdog.
Happy Cursday treepers.
That video is fun to watch. Thanks.
We went to the humane society many years ago to adopt a cat. My wife was petting several rather classy-looking kitties with distinctive fur. I came across a sad, bedraggled calico with a nametag of “Critter.” When I opened the cage, she zipped out into my arms. Fast and accurate. It was like catching a football. She didn’t want to leave.
Needless to say, Critter was the cat we adopted. Or that adopted us. She purred for us all the way home. And she ran the house capably from the start. She must have been new at the humane society, because she didn’t look bedraggled for long after she got home. A very pretty girl.
Niiiiiice. ?
Animals know. So sweet to see that dog’s joy and relief. So sad to see all those other dogs behind cages, and some not even there for much longer… Animals are such a gift.
A Happy Dog generates enough energy to power ten cities. Our lives would be far poorer without animals. They are without sin. “We give to anaimals only the love that we can spare yet they always respond with all the love in their hearts.”
They give so much, and they ask for so little.
Suddenly got some dust in my eyes…
I saw a picture of a pitiful looking little dog at the County Pound. Her ears were flat against her head and her lip was up on one side exposing her canine tooth, giving her a snuggle-tooth look.. She looked so pitiful and nerdy. I decided no one would want her, so I jumped in my car and drove up to get her. Her fur grew out and her ears were beautiful with long fur on them. And, she is a great dog. Just right for me.
Wonderful!
Jim Hall and George Shearing magic. If you ever left a jazz club after closing the early morning ambiance of a city not-quite-awake while you are is a very interesting experience. This is what Jim Hall and George Shearing share with us in this performance.

Thank you! I was getting tired of Chet Baker and Bill Evans. Listening to Morgan wallens isn’t the best for sleep (he needs better second verses)… I am woefully uneducated in music.
And yes, aside from Magic Hour in evening, the walk home in a hot sultry night after the club closed is filled with emotion. Or cold, snowy night… I wish to be young again….
The Ventures at their best……..Wipeout……
Yeah boy, I remember when the Ventures were cutting edge. Effortless professionalism. All that sound from three little amps and a tiny drum kit. The true test for every aspiring drummer – can you play Wipeout? Thanks for this
Will: I would lose the beat after three pathetic taps.

Wow. Enjoyed that.
Ladies and gentlemen, stay the course.
A huge thank you to Virginia!
Robots on the horizon, soon to be at our door. This is a good take on it: good insights + hilariousness!
Just for reference – this man kissed Alec Baldwin on the lips.
Actually Russel is one of a hopefully growing number of “celebs” who by the way CAN actually “connect” with their audience, who for the most part, are way, way, way off what most people here would consider “normal”. I have great hope, that Russel will sway his buddy Rickie Gervais on the deeper aspects of spirituality, that I know Russel is more “in tune” with, than many may give him credit for. Sure, a lot of “lefty” types do crazy things, but I do believe Russel has a much deeper understanding than what people may give him credit for. Listen closely – much of what he is saying is as basic “love one another” as you can get. What can possible be wrong with that??? Imagine the size of the audience a team like him and Rickie could connect with – have faith brother.
Russel Brand has been the best part of my day media wise for last few weeks. Humor and insight with honesty. Don’t agree with everything but quite a lot.
Thinking of “today”, thinking of “now”:
2 Cor. 6:2 (cf. Isaiah 49:8)
“For He says: “In the acceptable time I listened to you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” Behold, now is the time of favor; behold, now is the day of salvation.
Isaiah 55:6-7
“Seek the LORD while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the LORD, and He will have mercy on them, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.”
Hebrews 3:15a (cf. Psalms 95:7-8)
“As it has been said: “If today you hear His voice, harden not your hearts…”
Revelation 22:17 (cf. Isaiah 55:1)
“The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” Let the one who hears say, “Come!” And let the one who is thirsty come, and the one who desires the water of life drink freely.”

Thinking of why:
Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Romans 5:8
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
John 5:24
“Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment. Indeed, he has crossed over from death to life.”
—
Thinking of how:
Luke 18:13
“And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his chest, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’”
James 4:8a
“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”
John 6:28-29
“Therefore they said to Him, “What must we do, that we may be doing the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you should believe in Him whom He has sent.””
Mark 9:24b
“‘Lord, I believe; help my unbelief.'”
Acts 16:30-31
“Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.””
THE AUTHORITY OF REALITY
“Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you.” James iv. 8
It is essential to give people a chance of acting on the truth of God. The responsibility must be left with the individual, you cannot act for him, it must be his own deliberate act, but the evangelical message ought always to lead a man to act. The paralysis of refusing to act leaves a man exactly where he was before; when once he acts, he is never the same. It is the foolishness of it that stands in the way of hundreds who have been convicted by the Spirit of God. Immediately I precipitate myself over into an act, that second I live; all the rest is existence. The moments when I truly live are the moments when I act with my whole will.
Never allow a truth of God that is brought home to your soul to pass without acting on it, not necessarily physically, but in will. Record it, with ink or with blood. The feeblest saint who transacts business with Jesus Christ is emancipated the second he acts; all the almighty power of God is on his behalf. We come up to the truth of God, we confess we are wrong, but go back again; then we come up to it again, and go back; until we learn that we have no business to go back. We have to go clean over on some word of our redeeming Lord and transact business with Him. His word “come” means “transact.” “Come unto Me.” The last thing we do is to come; but everyone who does come knows that that second the supernatural rush of the life of God invades him instantly. The dominating power of the world, the flesh and the devil is paralyzed, not by your act, but because your act has linked you on to God and His redemptive power.
Oswald Chambers
November 4th Devotional
“The moments when I truly live are the moments when I act with my whole will.”
I wonder how many people know that? See that in their life? Have experienced it?
“when I act with my whole will.” – hmmm, seems pretty straight forward, but in reality a LOT tougher to do. How does one act “with my whole will”?? How does one know that this is the right decision and not that one?? What about that merchant of doubt, that just won’t go away??. Not so easy is it?. The very best we can do is to ALWAYS (if humanly possible) ask ourselves – is this decision or action I am about to take for the greater glory of GOD – (within reason of course) – we cannot be expected to know everything, (the greater glory), but we CAN from the inside – our truth, totally honest, and in good faith “act with my whole will” – in the knowledge that that “will” is in “agreement” with the greater will of God.

NATIONAL CANDY DAY
On November 4th, we celebrate the sweet holiday, National Candy Day.
Originally a form of medicine, candy calmed the digestive system or cooled a sore throat. At that time, combined with spices and sugar, candy only appeared in the purses and the dishes of the wealthy.
By the 18th century, the first candy likely came to America from Britain and France. At the time, people made the simplest form of candy from crystallized sugar – rock candy. However, even the most basic form of sugar was considered a luxury and only attainable by the wealthy.
My mouth watered and my blood sugar went up 30 points.

The Beatles appear at the Royal Command Performances at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London. In attendance are the Queen Mother, Princess Margaret and Lord Snowden. It was here that John Lennon made his now famous announcement: “For our last number, I’d like to ask for your help. The people in the cheaper seats clap your hands and the rest of you, if you’d just rattle your jewellery, we’d like to sing a song called Twist and Shout.” John would later say “I was fantastically nervous, but I wanted to rebel a bit and that was the best I could do.”
4 November 1978
Boston, the Rock band from the city of the same name, play their hometown for the first time since becoming major stars. They open a two night, sold out stand at the Boston Garden.
. . . but deliver us from the Evil One.
The Jesus Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy upon me, a sinner.
Prayer of Saint Ioannikios the Great of Bithynia (+ 846)
My hope is the Father, my refuge the Son, my protection the Holy Spirit. O Holy Trinity, glory to Thee.

What’s Cooking?
Cold weather drops into north texas. I have a crockpot soup going …………..
https://simpleseasonal.com/recipes/meal-types/soups/crock-pot-kielbasa-cabbage-soup
I lived in the North side of Chicago in the 70’s & 80’s in a predominantly Polish community that was said to have more Polish there than in Krakow.
Any way the was a mom & pop grocery store and if you got in time this soup was available served from a steaming pot.
But you had to get there early because once it was gone it would be gone for the day, until the next, maybe.
I think it was good marketing because you would go in for the soup and if they were out, we’ll what the he’ll might as well pick up some groceries.
My mentor was Polish and from Chicago.
His family introduced us to pierogis.
Great memories. Neat post.
Looks great. Today I’m turning what’s left of a rotiss chicken into chicken noodle soup. Just right for the drizzly day today.
I am thinking about making some chili……
Niiiiiice. Breakfast of champions! Hehee
Very interesting article about evidence submitted by the prosecutor in the Rittenhouse case. AP then actually did some journalisming (rare) and finds out that there is much more surveillance from the sky by the federal govt going on. This completely supports @sundance’s view that if the FBI wanted to shut down Antifa and arrest protestors then they could.
https://www.ksat.com/news/national/2021/11/03/explainer-rittenhouse-plane-part-of-widespread-surveillance/?fbclid=IwAR0hu0R1fg-Mu-ZkjCDlt0clkaamLs4SpUHR-PghRvLffJ64AgzBBtZ1XKs
Summary quote from the article:
HAS THE GOVERNMENT USED PLANES TO MONITOR PAST PROTESTS?
Yes. Aerial surveillance of protests is actually very common.
Also, beware of what flies above.
Danchenko arrested. Durham is actually doing something. Here’s hoping that Glenn Simpson is next.

Waiting for Sundance to weigh in on the Brandon vaccine mandate. Hell, I don’t even know if there’s anything more than an OSHA press release at this point.
Prayers offered for all the Marines who served with merit. RIP Jeff Sherman, USMC
The ongoing COVID-19 nonsense here in the United States exists solely and exclusively because our governments have failed to use the correct treatment. They used so-called “vaccines” when Japan has just proven, in less than ONE MONTH, that Ivermectin can wipe out the disease. IVM was awarded the Nobel prize for medicine in 2015. One of the 3 most important drugs in human history: Aspirin, Penicillin, and Ivermectin. Get your Ivermectin today while you still can! https://health.p0l.org
Thanks! I have gotten some, but this site has a much better price! Will be sharing.

Satellites in the sky with heat sensors that know when you fart? Maybe sound sensors on your iphone that hear them and report you? Will we have a fart limit? 3 farts a day? Go over and they fine you? Will grocery stores charge a “fart tax” on broccoli and cauliflower? Will we all be required to take Beano every day?
lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and his family as they seek to lead America back to You. Also, we pray for Angels to protect and support our Sundance as he works for justice and peace.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
