The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released the third quarter review of average weekly wages [Main Data Here]. The results of the year-over-year comparison should alarm everyone. This is a very serious data point that likely means we are in a recession, it just has not been quantified yet.
By now, everyone knows the term “stagflation”, which means a stagnant economy and large inflation (price increases), the easiest comparison is Jimmy Carter economic program in the 1970’s. However, let me assure you what this latest BLS release foretells is not that. This is far more serious than stagflation. I am not an alarmist, but I am encouraging everyone to take this economic data seriously.
In this graphic I have modified the spread sheet to focus attention on the part that really matters. [Original Data Table 2 Here] What you are seeing here is a comparison of weekly wages for the third quarter (July, Aug, Sept) of this year, compared to the weekly average wages in 2020:
Weekly wages went up a sum total of seven bucks [$7/1,000 = 0.7%] year over year. THAT is ridiculously low. However, worse yet look at all the categories of workers who saw an actual decline in wages. This is not a decline in wage value, this is an actual decline in net wages earned. WAGES HAVE DROPPED !
This is not only saying wages are failing to keep up with inflation, that part is beyond obvious, the data shows actual declines in wages for full time workers. This is far more concerning, check that…. this is four alarm fire – running around the neighborhood naked and panicked level concerning… when you take actual declines in wages and factor in the September inflation numbers [Main Data Here].
Avg. weekly wages can drop if massive numbers of people enter the workforce in specific low paying jobs. However, this is not that, because employment growth has been weak and minimal at best; missing all expectations to the downside. The data on wages declining year-over-year is a genuine decrease in average wages earned.
♦ Now Factor Inflation – The inflation rate is stunning [Table 7 data Here]. Examples: Beef costs 20% more (year over year). Bacon costs 20% more. Eggs cost 12% more. Peanut butter costs 10% more. Home heating oil costs 42% more. Unleaded gasoline costs 43% more. Natural gas costs 20% more. Used cars are 24% more. The list goes on (SEE HERE).
I don’t have to tell you this, you can see it in your receipt at the grocery store and in the gas pumps at your local convenient store. But the point is that massive inflation is eating our paychecks and the inflation is getting worse, not better. Prices continue to skyrocket and the dollar continues to be weakened.
When you overlay the inflation, massive price increases in critical goods that middle-class Americans purchase every day; and when you overlay the massive energy cost increases and the cost of home heating oil this winter; and THEN you consider the reality that wages are actually lower than a year ago, well, it is a perfect storm.
CTH previously stated that from a macro perspective home values peaked in the last two weeks of May and first two weeks of June. Other than institutional investors buying real estate because they need to hold a tangible asset; and some regions where home values are driven by COVID migration patterns; we do not see blue collar working class families purchasing homes, replacement vehicles or expensive durable goods.
Disposable income has been crushed in the past six months. Now we are seeing data to quantify just how bad the issue is. With wages declining and prices increasing, the likelihood the 3rd quarter GDP (July, Aug, Sept) will show a contraction is very high. [Note Q3 GDP release is the first Friday in November]
This is beyond stagflation, because the economy is not only stagnant with inflation high, but also because actual weekly wages have dropped. Overall Main Street consumer purchasing is now focused on staple goods like housing, food, fuel and energy costs.
Some have speculated that a “Great Reset” includes the collapse of the economy to such an extent that government will be the only source of financial stability. I’m not sure if it will get to that level, but this latest BLS data release showing a contraction in wages for the blue collar bread winners is very alarming.
What is it like in your neighborhood? What types of prices for gasoline and foodstuffs are you encountering?
.
I calculated my commute and it is up about $1,000 a year more just since the gas prices increase from the Spring. So, although my wages have been stagnant, they really go down about $1,000. And it is only getting worse, since I watched a price increase of 20 cents per gallon in just two weeks. Add in the home heating oil cost for our harsh, northeastern winters, and Biden achieved his Dark Winter.
And the increase in spending for everyday necessities is non-deductible. Unless people’s wages increase by 7.5% (wages minus increased taxes) they have declined directly attributable to really stupid federal government moves since January 20,2021.
only stupid from the view of a person who lives a daily life affected by those decisions…brilliant according to Cloward-Piven…they want to remake the US far outside the boundaries of the Constitution….its FUNDAMENTAL Change time
Always Obama….the dark lord
Gonna be hard for the media and commucrats to paint a rosy narrative when cold ,hungry people can’t afford the gas to go to the empty store, but I’m sure they’ll try.
The Enemedia are professional propagandists, it’s their job to make to make fine cuisine out of bovine scat.
Re “…it’s their job to make to make fine cuisine out of bovine scat.”
It seems that a lot of people enjoy the taste, too…
“I calculated my commute”
Stop that right Now! Don’t you know that math is racist?
Interesting, I am seeing the opposite in terms of paid wages. Prices are higher for sure and have driven down real wage gains, but my company’s wages are up in every category in an attempt to hire workers which are seemingly non existent.
I could hire 125 people today to handle current business to business demand but cannot find the applicants in our area of the southeast. It is a common problem across our region, industry, and throughout our entire supply chain including our customers.
What is your business segment?
Heck, I’ll clean their toilets if they pay me a living wage and transfer me to the southeast! 😉
textiles
The other thing I am thinking about is how much average wages have fallen, even though wages are rising in a search for employees, because throughout the country many people, often hirer wage employees, have retired or been downsized over the last year and a half. Even customers and vendors that I work with that are unionized cannot find adequate labor at high wages.
This data may be reflecting a much younger and smaller workforce. The difference in wage changes by gender is also interesting.
There are countless worthless degrees out there and the people holding them won’t stoop to working in textiles. I live in what was once the textile capitol of North Carolina. The mills are trying to make a comeback. This town was filled with mills. NAFTA destroyed it. The mills that are running need help. That help normally comes from the illegals.
It is the same in the places I work. I suspect this is yet another coastal/heartland split. I would be willing to bet that the deep blue areas are even worse and driving down the averages.
Ellis, same for me in Florida. I have raised my wages to try to entice employees to work for me. . I have been running ads for two years continuously for over a year and a half in three major markets, during which I have managed to find two employees. These are good blue collar jobs that earn between 80-100K. Just can’t find workers.
Maybe CTH could start a daily thread for the purpose of connecting employers with employees…
All in favor, say “Aye!”
Aye!! There are many people stuck in blue states because of their jobs who would relocate if they had the opportunity.
Thanks for your input and support!

I’m in central Florida so winter is fairly mild. Propane prices are up 22%, I’m easily paying 35% more at the grocery store, and gas increased almost 10% in just the last 3 weeks alone. I bought 4 new tires for my F150-such a deal at almost $900 and that was the very lowest price I could find after calling around. Being retired on a fixed income, it’ll sure be nice that my SS income will go up a little over 5%. Yep, that’ll sure solve the problem ?
Whataya complaing about? That 5% raise will get you a one legged turkey for the holidays. No giblets tho- thems extra.
Thanksgiving weines. Didn’t Buyden say they went down about 10 cents? Besides, FauxChi says many of us can’t enjoy Christmas this year. Lump of coal for us.
I do not understand why they are projecting a turkey shortage. Now chickens are different as it seemed Perdue, who is the largest chicken producer in the USA, switched to a rooster that produced better-tasting meat, but it was lazy and eggs went unfertilized. This created such a shortage that wing shops were offering thighs and other chicken parts because fewer chickens meant fewer wings. But turkeys?
I remember a line of thought from decades ago that there are no shortages in a capitalist society. Shortages are created on purpose. Think Sundances lessons on lemons.
Think diamonds, too… They’re carefully rationed in order to keep prices artificially high. Been going on for many decades.
Turkey shortage! I’ll drive down to Raeford, NC and buy one for you.
Mike in a Truck: One-legged turkey? Hmm. That’s covered under the Turkeys with Disabilities Act. You’re gonna need to build a wheelchair accessible freezer and oven. That’s gonna cost you a pretty penny.
Wow. I get attaboys at work but no raise. I wish I could score a 5% increase. It would help. I’m getting hammered. The usual groceries at Winn Dixie that cost $65 under PDJT just last January now cost $147. Filling up the daily driver (not the truck) cost around $40 under PDJT, now? $58. And it’s a ULEV II. Dumor Equistages horse feed is up $5 a bag. I was paying $13 now its $18. Same with chicken feed. I’m in the Big Bend area of North Florida. #FJB.
I had my car in for a repair and am lucky enough to have my brother owning the repair shop. He mentioned my tires were getting old and I had them replaced for $700. Next year, they’ll only be higher, no point in putting it off.
I have a guy coming today to give me a price on a generator for my home. We’re trying to get ready for any contingencies as the people running the country are totally incompetent, and I wouldn’t trust Dewine to keep Ohio safe like Desantis.
Given the Ohio legislature track record (failure to stop vaccine mandates twice because they represent the CoC) and Mike DeWine’s jelly fish like tendencies, I’m going to have a chimney inspection (we’ve never used it) and consider putting in a wood burning stove into the chimney. My spouse just took a 20k increase switching jobs as a mid career professional. Both of our employers are short-staffed, the one she is leaving is imploding and has been for over a year before the vaccine EO for contractors. Doesn’t matter, all the stuff they need to build things for Uncle Sam are on a slow boat from China so to speak. My wife is under pressure to get the jab, and once CMS gets around to putting its decrees out I will be too.
Gas went up to around 3.25 from 3.15 last time I filled up. We’ve been doing too much restaurant eating but it blows my mind to feed a family of 4 on $30-40 of fast food. Actual restaurants, that’s easily over $75. I have a small reserve of break open in case of emergency food from the pre-mass hysteria days. I’m going to stock up on canned goods. More water. I always forget that Menards actually has grocery items too. I don’t see anything getting better, just surviving. I’m trying to remember all of the Great Depression habits of my grandparents, and we aren’t the poor folks making $34k a year.
From the perspective of a fixed income, last year’s SS 1.3% increase didn’t even cover the increase in just car insurance. Interest rates near zero so no help from savings. Usually buy yellow tagged marked down meat at Walmart, the mark down prices are higher than the former regular price. Name any item it is up. Next years SS increase is a year behind already so no relief there. This has to lead to a cutback in discretionary spending eg; less eating out etc.
Younger folk like my adult children haven’t lived through high inflation they are conditioned to low inflation. I think it’ll really bite them before they realize how much their nominal pay is shrinking. And younger people want to go out so they get hit harder than older folk or at least people like me who can take it or leave it.
Well, look at the bright side. If you cannot afford to go anywhere, a heath passport becomes a non issue.
Back in ’78 I could take a date to dinner at a small family restaurant. Go to the movie, get popcorn, cokes. Still have money left over to put gas in my F100 (351 Cleveland) couldnt keep universal joints in that thing it had so much torque.
Well you probably remember when candy bars were a nickel. Then they started shrinking. Then they went to a dime and back to regular size. All in our lifetimes.
The silver in that dime is now worth about $2.
I grew up in the retail gasoline business (SERVICE station). I remember back in the ’50s and ’60s, selling cokes for a nickel apiece or 25 cents for a six-pack. Cigarettes for 25 to 30 cents a pack.
Maybe Ford should have put in bigger u joints in instead of 6 cyl ones….

F’d Over Rebuilt Dodge
All in good fun! I don’t drive a Dodge and I pulled for Ford in Ford v Ferrari and really enjoyed the true story of how Shelby beat the Eurotrash using American know-how and Ford power.
FORD was the motto of my mother’s 54 station wagon. Once a year we would find nuts and bolt under it.
I drive a 2017 Ford Fusion as a work vehicle. It currently gets driven about 4,000 miles per month and has 240,000+ total miles on it. That’s not a typo. It actually has two hundred and forty thousand miles on it!
It’s never had a tune-up; and, still runs like a brand new vehicle with no shortage of power when needed. Had the emission test done last week and it passed with no problem.
Just replaced the original battery last week. Replaced the brake pads about 4-6 months ago. Wipers have been replaced once or twice. Other than that, just the tires have been replaced a few times.
Oh.. and Ford was the only American car manufacturer that refused to allow Obama to sell it off to foreign companies…
BUT they support the modern pantheon of liberal stances…woke crowd and all
Sadly, 99% of all American corporations do the same, right?
Every time we get an increase in SS it seems we get an increase in medicare costs. Wipes out any increase we get.
Believe it or not, I had not considered that correlation, because where I saw the increase last year was in my Part B from the local “health insurance” entity…
Thanks for the alert!
My children just got substantial raises. One 6K the other 15K per year. I got out of healthcare in July 2020. They have yet to fill my position and my former dept currently has 5.5 FTEs open. 3 additional co-workers followed my lead and also retired. Coworkers reporting significant supply issues, everything is backordered and added to the staffing issues work conditions are close to unbearable.
In North Central Florida coast region gas has risen >30 cents a gallon in the last 30 days. Quickly approaching gas prices of 2012 Obama years. Its a feature not bug of the watermelon leftist agenda.
Yep, and Publix and Winn Dixie raise their prices daily.
Most food is up around 10% in Central PA. Beef is the worst, because Beef is what the elites don’t want us to be able to afford. It varies by cut. Most are up around 30%, but the ribeyes are up around 60%. A year ago you could get a choice ribeye for around $12/lb, now it is around $20/lb. The store brand 80/20 burger more than doubled from $2.99/lb avg to $6.99/lb.
I don’t know if you can do this, but I just purchased a side of beef from a local rancher. All told, about $4/lb for Angus beef. I found a freezer, the only one they had, at a local mom & pop furniture and appliance store. I’ve been buying beef, pork, and chicken from locals for several years. While you can’t beat Costco on the chickens, I am raising my own this year. There are a lot of people who raise various animals on their own farms and are happy to sell some of it because that helps with their costs of raising animals for their own consumption. Just a thought.
I went to buy a simple roast to make Pot Roast it was $24..chopped meat is running me around
$6 to $7 for just about a pound.. Here in CT
Gooder and harder, proles! The Choice and Select beef was made for your Urban Overlords, not for you!! ALLES HEIL SIEG HEIL!!!
Here in Central PA too!
I did the same as Born Free American Woman above; bought a 1/4 cow from a farmer. Got 1 case ground beef and 1 case of cuts, all vacuum sealed and frozen.
Net price was 4.90/lb
I shop at a grocery store in a more affluent area where even they aren’t buying the better cuts of beef, so I’ve been lucky to find “manager’s specials” of discolored beef at 30- to 50-percent off. Nothing wrong with it; you just have to cook it right away.
Northern Delaware. Over the years I’ve found high quality affordable chicken, pork, and beef within a 30 mile radius of my home, and now those sources are cheaper than the supermarket. But I’m retired and food is a hobby, so I have the time to make that foraging work, on enjoyable country drives.
Yes, the biggest benefit of retirement is the extra time to put in coping with Communism.
As ususal, AA males took the biggest hit. That is what happens when you are constantly invaded with low cost workers. So young black male employment should nosedive. Biden will have to live with that. Unfortuantly he will not be feeling any pain while he licks an ice cream cone.
Paski will blow it off as transitory. Along with the tent cities.
“AA males took the biggest hit.”
Never let a crisis go to waste. This data point will be used to demonstrate White Privilege.
“Mile-wide asteroid to strike earth in 2 weeks……scientists predict the end of life as we know it. Women and minorities hardest hit!”
The alarming part about that otherwise excellent joke is to consider how long ago it started circulating… At least 20 years?
You know this is coming: Joe “Container Ship Driver” Biden: Stay calm folks..this is all part my brilliant economic plan to lower your expectations.
Joe better clean up the container ship backlog before winter storm season comes.
This probably wont happen. Heard on the news this morning that it takes 4 to 5 days to unload one ship. They have 100 backed up. They are projecting 400 to 500 days to unload what’s sitting in CA. Maybe next winter based on this news release. Ask Psaki and she will circle back to you in a year when they get caught up unloading the pesky things we really dont need.
With delays like that, you have to think that sooner or later they will just stop sending ships full of stuff to just rot offshore.
Not everything has an infinite shelf life as some are seasonal and some are trend oriented.
Yes I’ve been wondering about items going past their sell-by date.
What will happen to it all? Any chance some could be available anyway?
The reason I’m asking is that sell-by dates have become earlier and earlier for years now – I’ve long suspected this is planned obsolescence on a micro scale.
Many items are still usable way past the dates…
The plan is working exactly as the Democrats intended.
They want to harm the AA community? Who knew? What a shocker! I really feel so bad for those young Black men. They got their first chance to earn their way out of generational governmental dependency under PDJT and BAM! right back on Uncle Demonrat’s plantation.
But Working Class Joe from Scranton says everything is fine except for the reprobates who won’t take the jab…phoney!
Gas went up 30 cents a gallon last week where I live. I’m shocked at grocery store prices. I went to the Dollar General because I was curious. Half empty shelves and prices were awful. I bought a few items I needed and it rung up to $67 – that was shocking. I moved to a very low cost of living, small town, rural area for this very reason – seeing the handwriting on the wall. Property taxes are low. I purposefully chose to be on a well and septic to eliminate those costs. Electricity here is very low cost, and we need air conditioning due to the heat and humidity but prepared to live without it. I am able to purchase in bulk to save. I have no idea how families with small children are keeping them fed and clothed if they don’t have some flexibility. And so many people losing their jobs over the Jab right now.
“I purposefully chose to be on a well and septic to eliminate those costs.”
Now for the bad news: In some NE Ohio counties the EPA is forcing well owners to tie into the sanitary sewer system. You should expect to pay about $6,000 for the contractor to backfill and bypass your septic tank.
I expect the Biden administration will attempt to expand the EPA’s reach and this mandate will be extended into more counties.
This is true in a lot of areas. However, if you move far enough away from those available systems, they can’t force you to do it. Years ago, I was quoted $30,000 to tie into the city system. $6K sounds very low.
Where I live there is no sanitary sewer to tie into. EPA can KMA.
Ditto and ditto.
What people don’t realize yet, is that it is only going to get worse. The heating bills in the Northeast are going to destroy peoples incomes.
Things get worse. Sam’s babyback ribs went from $3.27 to $5.27. Needless to say, I did not use my smoker much this summer.
“The data on wages declining year-over-year is a genuine decrease in average wages earned.”
Employers, many of whom mistakenly believe higher wages lead to inflation, are cutting hours to forestall near-term price increases at the retail level.
Fewer hours worked translates into fewer empty shelves being restocked, even assuming the logistics logjam can be remedied.
It won’t actually help to lower expectations. You’ll likely need to crater them.
More likely, once Biden’s popularity goes from the toilet to the sewer, then the BLM/Antifa riots will spring up all over the nation. They must keep the populace properly in line. Expect the FBI to claim that White supremacy is the real problem, and do nothing about burning cities.
I’ll give a report on OK (where I live) tomorrow since I have some shopping to do on Friday (Oct 22) and I’ll need to purchase gasoline as well.
What I will provide now is from a trip to western/central Arkansas this past weekend. Gasoline prices are at $3.5999 for the high octane, no ethanol fuel. Grocery prices have increased so that people are paying $20 more for the same stuff they bought last month.
Many people out of work and reports from relatives there are that many of them are not looking for work; they are “happy” being on the dole and allowing the gov’t to pick up the tab or to sponge off other people.
I was looking for a home to purchase in that area and the property prices are insane. $19k for an acre of undeveloped land, and $150k for a mobile home on 5 acres. The place had gone to auction and the buyer ad split off the major acreage and left the mobile home on that bit of acreage and hadn’t even cleaned the place up. I was stunned at the condition of the place for that much money, but someone put an offer on it by the time it had been on the market a week.
more later….
I live in Little Rock. Gas is running about 2.99/gal. I paid 2.69 at Costco yesterday. I got laid off October 1st and can start collecting unemployment November 1st. My plan was to take the rest of the year off and start looking for work January 1st. My ex – employer can pay the unemployment until then.
Beware. There is a work search requirement when you claim your weeks in most states. Be sure of AR requirements about that when you file.
Speaking of property prices, there was recently a news item that went national from a town I used to live in in blueMA.
A home that was entirely burned out was selling for $400K. I am not making this up!
I travel between PA, NY, NJ, and CT. Prices in the Spring were $ 1.99 a gallon in PA, NY and CT and even lower in NJ (which always has the cheapest gas). Now those same stations that I visit are all right around $3.50 a gallon, somewhat lower in NJ. That is a 75% increase since the Spring.
Northeast:
Home heating oil – Had twin tanks filled around same time frame as 2020 fill-up and the 385 gallons were almost the same amount as 2020. Paid $400 more in 2021 than in 2020.
Gasoline – About double the price this year as the same time fame of 2021.
Propane – 20lb tank exchange just jumped 20% at the local walmart.
Cord Wood – Same price for green cord wood ($250) as last year.
Coffee – 40 oz bags of whole bean up 12%.
Flour – 5 lb general purpose white flour up 20% over same time last year.
Lobster – Boat price almost 35% up over same time as last year.
Update: My brand of whole bean coffee had been out at my local club for three weeks. Tracked the stores resupply and bought only enough to bring my inventory back up to one year. The store had only received 27 bags where normally they would have a hundred or more. They had plenty of other stuff on the shelves so no panic. Hamburg was up 15% over 3 weeks ago.
Still no canned sweet corn at my Aldis going on three weeks now. Some other items missing or not available in the store. No big deal can wait for resupply.
If you stock up buy only the things you would normally buy and use or eat. Still have 8 cans of oysters and 12 cans of pink crabmeat both with a best by date of 2017. Have not given up on them (bought too much at once) but something else always catches my eye when I look at them.
Don’t forget to stock up on pet food.
Just checked, lobster boat price 7.50/lb. This time during lockdown 6.00/lb. Pre lockdown price would be 3.50 or so after tourists left.
This is what the illegitimate administration, would call a robust economy.
Planned collapse, no doubt.
Lower quality grocery stores, Food Lion, Walmart, Aldi’s, etc. are starting to display permanent emlty shelf space/. Juices (sugar water), canned foods, breakfast meat, sales beef items, etc.. are being replenished very slowly, if at all. Food Lion had one item last week that was their big sales item, london broil, never was delivered to any of the local stores and was told their were no rain checks.
Buy smart. This is real and will not improve until the Communist have been removed from our governments and main stream institutions.
The two biggest empty areas I have notice in my big Grocery Store
Stop n Shop for the past few weeks is. The bottle Juice/Juicebox
shelves..I know school started but in that past that never
has this effect before.. It is practically empty.. The other is in the
Pet food section. Unless a lot
of people suddenly adopted cats. the cat litter and
canned cat food is sparce..
However I have noticed when I go to my small town IGA
all the shelves are stocked..they don;t seem to be having this issue
at least at the moment.
It’s actually true that there was a big surge in adoption of cats last year. Makes sense – people who lived alone needed some company during lockdown.
Here on southeast coast of FL…
Mc D’s have signs $12.00 per to start, make it a couple weeks get bonus.
Rumor is if you sell up sized combo meal on first shift you make store manager, add a Mc Flurry, bingo district manager.
Wendy’s is work today paid tomorrow.
Bike rack is full from employees.
Looks like we missed great business chance in not opening a blue jean store with 24 to 26″ inseams only.
Burger King is starting folks at 16 an hour in South Ocala.
One class of people who will not be effected by this crisis created with wanton intent by the JoeBama administration and the globalist cabal. That is our very lavishly paid federal workforce. Now that they have implemented with impunity dominion machines to count the votes they can punish us without fear of voter backlash. As fuel and energy costs continue to rise inflation will only get worse, going from bad to worse to even worse. If the build back better bill passes it will totally destroy the greatest economy ever developed. America has a very dark and bleak future.
But… but… Jen Pfascisti says they won’t be able to get treadmills!
(And no, this is not a knock on the need for exercise equipment. I practically live on my stationary bike during winter.)
Mid-working class has been relegated to lower class.
Gas in NC increased from $2.97 to $3.29 overnight. $0.32 in one night.
NOT meant to be for the mid-working class to survive. Why? As a group, CANNOT be controlled. These are mainly conservative individuals that support family, church, God, schools, kids, communities, etc….THEY ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH and they must be destroyed b/c they support republicans (mostly anyway and ain’t voting dem). Not that the republicans deserve their loyalty; they have screwed them over for the past 30Y (Boehner, Ryan, McConnell, McCarthy et als)
Housing, gas, fuel, groceries(shelves are becoming more sparse weekly) , cars/trucks (NONE on lots) have skyrocketed and wages/salaries for mid-working class are mostly unchanged. NO way anyone’s wages are keeping up with THIS INFLATION and MASSIVE PRICE INCREASE…..
All by design. BHO’s marxists are in-charge. Joe/Jill sold their souls for a shekel to ‘live in the WH’ and be the first family…..they are ‘playing’ president…he’s in charge as much as I am….literally…Harris in on the plan and she may be POTUS for a short-term, but she’s NOT the future either. She’s playing the game too…HOW engaged is she in this govt?? NONE, virtually off the radar everyday.
It is 4Y to TURN, DESTROY, RE-MAKE, take-away the USA. DO ALL that can be done. Lose today, win tomorrow. GO FAR LEFT and see IF we get stopped….
And sadly the republicans sit on capitol hill and their collective as**** and do NOTHING..not a peep, b/c they think 2022 and 2024 ‘allows’ them to move up. And oh how all ‘this stuff’ makes their FUNDRAISING so generous…seeing ‘record amts’ pouruing in…PLEASE DO NOT GIVE TO THESE worthless, sorry people…..they are millionaires already and take enough $$$ from lobbyists, donors, k st, wall st and China to stay millionaires…they ALREADY sold out America…and they ain’t your friend….
Not one effing dime from me.
jwmson,
Time for you to face the truth – neither the Establishment Republicans nor Democrats are going to do anything for the working class – they like the idea of a feudal system with them as aristocrats and the bulk of America as serfs. The elites like low wage earners to do their scut work – Do you think that Nancy Pelosi wants to pay her gardners more – or do you think that Hillary Clinton wants to change her grandchildrens dirty diapers, herself. No they want some wretch to do it for for nothing. It is a system based upon class and it is time for the working class to realize that the elites like taking advantage of the working class. If you are a working stiff – defend and promote your own interests and become a socialist. America is no longer a Democracy – it is an Oligarchy.
Every good is increasing. Gas is $3.09-$3.39/gallon for 87 unleaded. Everything in Kroger goes up by $0.50-$1. Even lawn care services have gone up 4-7% based on invoices. I know this is a great time to seek God’s wisdom and be frugal and generous at the same time ?. Treepers need to plan accordingly like Sundance says!
In Coastal SC Prime Black Angus filet cuts went from $29/lb in July to $50/lb in October. Granted that cut of meat is not a staple, but my family grilled out 3 6OZ filets on Sunday evenings as our “special meal”. ( 90 minutes @ 200 degrees in the Big Green Egg with lump charcoal and mesquite for smoke) . The cost of the meat is high enough to take the fun out of having them on Sundays. I assume that is the plan- misery for all.
Another irritant is that the meat quality is slipping. So is the thickness. The loins look smaller to me.
Amazingly, I found tenderloin in the discount bin. Never have seen that before. Could be inflation impact is reaching up? One incident is not proof of a trend.
Corporatocracy along with the best govt money can buy.
We can certainly be aware of the fact that sofummy ros funded obama is doing this thru his third term thru his
BBB? Broke Back Biden/Broke Back Bama. The Destroy America First Team/DAFT is working as hard as they can. On Nov. 3 2020 unleaded RBOB gas contract was $1.07 on the futures market, the last time I checked it was $2.48. The Marxist/National Socialist/Fascists are on the march world wide. Inflated prices on products sold in stores cause the consumer to pay more in sale taxes. They lie about everything and the stooges in the MSM cover for them with their false narratives.
I guess their plan is working.
We are at war. They are demoralizing the enemy. The enemy is us.
Correct, they are at war, but it doesn’t appear we’ve declared war on them yet. So many people still don’t understand or don’t want to believe the crisis we’re in that will most definitely only get worse. The build back better nonsense is for them, it doesn’t include us, that’s where the BETTER comes in.
We are not at war. We are under attack.
It isn’t a war until both sides have casualties.
Wars end when the casualty count is to high for one side to bear.
bertdilbert: I’m not demoralized. I’m energized and highly motivated.
Southern middle Tennessee here. Gas cost 0.30 more per gallon this week than last week for the fill up. A whole 1.25 more than last year…thanks Obama…I mean #FJB. LIttle Caesar’s raise their iconic $5 pizzas to 5.55. Pack of M&Ms previously at the convenience store price of 1.48 now 1.75
new iilegals taking jobs from current illegals at lower wages (lol, the irony) and many sitting at home on govt tit……
The government is the largest hinderance on labor. The $15 minimum wage was achieved not through legislation but through government handouts.

Then there is the wages that have ceased for some folk who have been or soon will be for refusing the jab.

Which is sobering. We were not as diverse in the 1930s, we were mostly Christian, and we were mostly self-reliant. We are none of those things now. It will be Lord of the Flies.
We’ll get’em in 2022. /s
This is the direct result of 2020 election steal. These evil creeps have announced their intentions to deliver the death shot (pun intended) to the USA and this nicely sets up their Great Reset. (Look up the Great Reset for yourself, “you’ll own nothing and be happy” )
However, I contend their evil deeds will lead to the Great Awakening. This is the exact opposite of their Great Reset. Inside of the Great Awakening shines light into the dark crevasses of the swamps around the world and we’ll see that the entire government/cabal is a fraud, this includes the West as a whole.
Do not fall back into the swamp matrix sold on the nightly news, especially FOX. If We The People link arms and Just Say No! This will begin to correct itself. Be certain our financial pain is their plan, resist.
I don’t see it here in non-urban Kentucky. Factories are still hiring and the wages have never been higher. I can still buy eggs for under $1 a dozen but the fancy stuff like cage free and organic are higher. Milk is about the same. Beef has gone up a lot, but the other proteins like pork, poultry and seafood have only gone up a bit.
Cars and appliances are expensive because of availability. Dealers can not sell what they do not have, so sales would necessarily be down.
I wonder if this may another divide that is affecting the deep blue areas more than the center of the country. If it is, the government will certainly do something to bring us down. Everyone must suffer equitably.
So, working according to plan.
I bought bulk 10lbs bacon last year, same store same box. Last year $20. Last week $34. Almost double. I’m in NC, but travel to South Boston, VA (lower, rural) to buy bacon and bulk foodstuffs.
Sure, I expected as much actually Sundance I do appreciate all the affirmations.
I liken this to the Titanic, you know the ship that was unsinkable.
However after experiencing our fatal final rupture in Nov we are definitely sinking.
All this happy talk about being to able right this sinking ship ain’t gonna happen.
God has given this nation over to those who don’t know Him and have no interest in knowing Him.
Heritage Americans will soon be as foreign as the foreigners who are now coming and taking our place.
I call it a well deserved judgment and I welcome it, as I look forward to another city built without hands.
America will sink and there will be great suffering many lives lost but none not one who has invested in the world to come will be lost.
There’s a lifeboat awaiting for all those who have place their trust in Him ready to be boarded just as this ship slips beneath the waters of final judgment.
I am surprised at the tiny increase in nominal-dollar weekly earnings ($7), given the trouble businesses have had hiring in the face of double-dip unemployment payments (Democrats paying people double to not work). Most of the stores in the town where I live have semi-permanent help wanted signs up.
The BLS Table 2 shows average earnings dropping about 4.4% in real (1982) dollars (from $383 in 2020 to $366 in 2021).
For this 4.4% real dollar decrease to show up as a 7/1000ths nominal dollar gain indicates that BLS is using an inflation rate of 5.1% over the last year.
But inflation didn’t start going up until Biden’s first day in office (when he cancelled the Keystone pipeline), so we are at more like a 7% rate for Biden’s term, and now with the manufactured supply crises it’s going to go through the roof.
Real incomes are going to get savaged very quickly.
Peter Navarro has mentioned that there are currently, and these are simply his rough numbers, 10 million newly unemployed and 10 million jobs going begging.
I didn’t get a chance to hear his theory for this (always interrupted while listening to podcasts), but it could have been that the jobs are nowhere near where the unemployed are.
Chickens on Raleigh craigslist are selling for at least 1.5x higher than they were previously.
Again thanks to PedoJoe46….
Durham, NC used to have hiring signs everywhere. There seems to be less of them now.
I suspect that, by this time next year Carter’s stagflation will become a wistful memory. You cannot keep printing money without devaluing the currency. The Left has got a stranglehold on the US economy – they’ve destroyed jobs and businesses via completely useless and unnecessary lockdowns [with the help of RINOs and some supposed Righties], the current Obama administration is destroying various energy industries and spending money that won’t be earned until our great-grandchildren are long since in the grave. And then there’s the vaccine mandates, the various woke policies being forced on businesses and so on and so forth. How much will we accept before we fight back and re-take our country?
I got in a long debate this week with a neverTrumper self-proclaimed politically “moderate” finance guy.
He theorized that inflation will spike and then go down to a substantially higher than present level – maybe 4 – and then, he admitted, that level would be permanent.
I could only tell him I hoped he is right on that one point. Except for his TDS he is willing to debate many points without freaking out, which is rare around here, and gives me insight into the way they think…
Now why wouldn’t this be discussed?
I have a hard time believing we’ll go from 6.7% GDP growth to a full on contraction. In a contraction, when you go to the store, it’s empty…Boarded up shops…That sort of thing.
Meat prices are pretty shocking, and we definitely see the price tags at the store jumping up. That’s a real problem.
In terms of jobs, most places we go to need more people. The problem is that most of those jobs – and especially PEOPLE – were declared “nonessential” by the Government.
Who wants a job where you’re at imminent risk of being sent home indefinitely without pay? Who loves being called “nonessential” to society as a whole?
I suspect the labor shortages are from that. I think people also learned in the pandemic that they were working way too hard for a “nonessential person”, and cut back. I have nothing to back this up, just a gut feeling.
So gas where I am in VA is 3.17 to 3.25 a gallon it was under 2.00 dollars when President Trump was in office
Food is up a lot – Steak is up a lot like one Rib Eye for what 3 cost a couple of years ago and not worth the price IMO. I’d say packaged/processed foods are up 25 to 30 percent and fast food and chain sit down restaurant food is crazy
Chick fil A is now well over 40 dollars to get 4 meals for my family and Red Robin used to be around 60 dollars for the family to eat including tip – it’s now at 78.00 last time we went 2 months ago (and this includes kids meals)
We have cut out eating in restaurants do to not just job insecurity (mandates) but the food and experience isn’t worth the prices. Quality seems down bigtime.
A former coworker of mine (a professor at a local junior college) wrote yesterday the following:
“I just want to give y’all a heads up. Rumor around here is that Boston Consulting Group is headed your way, having been hired by LSC. They were here for several year dismantling pretty much everything we love and left a dumpster fire behind! Support staff have been fired by the hundreds in the last year to make way for the ‘Amazonification’ of two year education all under the recommendations of Boston Consulting Group.
“Men, it’s too late for me…but you must be on watch and steadfast. Huzzah!”
It looks like corporatism is going to change the way that community colleges are run. The already low paid staff are the worst hit. You can be sure that if colleges could run without professors, they would go there in a minute. I just wish that instead of laying off the staff, they would decrease the size of the college administration by getting rid of the vice chancellor for diversity and the like. The size of the bureaucracy has ballooned, while the focus has been on decreasing class content on account of “equity”. We can no longer offer proctored exams due to Covid. Lord help us.
Since kettle corn for brains Biden and his handlers stole the election, gas here in Western Ma. has gone from 2.29 a gallon to 3.39.
My mothers propane water heater went 3 weeks ago… 750.00 for a new Rheam from Home Depot, $50 tax…none in stock took the 3 weeks to finally arrive yesterday.
Looking for a used Corolla barely any to choose from…prices for years 17 -19 with lower mileage around 18 to 23,000 plus tax and fees. Friend just bought a new Rav4…all they had for used were almost as high priced as the new so he bought the new at baseline only for 28…add to that 5000 for taxes and “fees”.
Last January the condo board increased our fee by 25 bucks and now this year another 10.
Food prices are insane especially for good quality.
My mother heats her home with oil (propane for the hot water), so we have yet to see what that bill will be.
It’s all so frustrating because it doesn’t have to be this way…it wasn’t this way with Trump…he was doing a magnificent job in all areas…what an effing mess.
My spirit aches for the young ones coming up, the young parents having to deal with the tyranny/incompetence falling over everything like an ominous dark cloud.
Praying seriously and crying out to God that His hand is on all of us to guide us strengthen us and that He will lift the veil from the ones that are decieved.
I know He will bring us through but I do not like any of it.
In my work Im seeing an increase in families being forced to live in motel rooms for exorbitant prices because of wages, people selling their rentals with dollar signs in their eyes and kicking the renters out. This is rural Tennessee
Additionally, the opioid manufactured crisis has left many families destroyed to where there is no support network in tact
Property insurance and taxes
We are all being hit by higher home values when the housing market is dropping rapidly
My homeowners insurance which renews in November went up 250.00 dollars this year and my real estate taxes went up 420 dollars this year
Oh gee. I’d forgotten about that. Just super. Ours will be adjusted this month. Can’t wait.
My home insurance went from $870 to $3420 thanks to CA burning. Luckily my prop taxes can only increase 1% thanks to prop 13.
Taxifornia.
“While property taxes remain the single largest source of local tax revenue for cities and counties, these local governments increasingly rely on other local taxes to make up for the revenue loses that resulted from Proposition 13.”
…….. Cities and Counties Have More Control Over Sales, Hotel, and Utility Taxes Than Property Taxes. … Sales, Hotel, and Utility Taxes Largely Replaced Lost Property Tax Revenue.” [ All from the California Legislative Analysis Office]
In the City of Angels the Sales Tax rate is 9.5%. Many other counties in Taxifornia have a rate of (only) 7.25%.
GGHD: Then, there’s LA County property tax. Mine’s up more than 30+ since purchasing my home in 2008. The fact that the property valuation has increased only helps LA County, because I am not planning to move.
In Skowhegan Maine we have a outdoor refrigerator in our down town area next to that is a pantry for dry goods on the bottom is a box full of pumpkins, toms, …
Eggs , butter, … In fridge part
In the freezer part was pork chops , Beans sausage Beans is the producer, the sausage isn’t made with beans , frozen chicken, …
We have been doing this for over a year now , God is watching over us ,
Sadly the drug culture is huge , resently I heard of an OD on my police scanner at the Indian ridge subdivision, subsidized housing , I’m 65 with 3 children under 9 , bad hips, Mills said no new hips , soon I’ll be in a wheel chair , I had to limp over to the OD and narcan him , CPR, and give him a tomorrow, but he’s still using, I’m unvaccinated he was vaccinated, so I’m drinking elderberry tea I made, we bring food to the fridge and take some .
We have beautiful healthy children but thay are coming for them with poison mRNA as I read here in the older posts , we are home schooling but falling short , financially we are doing better then most .

What a lovely story of your communities “Blessing Box,” Yappy.
And what an even greater story of your love for those around you.
You are a true hero to the least of these.
Agree.
And Maine badly needs to go back to the Republican stronghold it once was.
It’s really a simple way because By the grace of God go I,
And Thank you, your reply was truly up lifting.

Coincidentally my hometown was Skowhegan.
Maybe we can find a way to communicate off-line and build a rapport and expand our social networks.
Might even find ourselves in a position to help others in unforeseen ways.
That’s a very nice thing to say ,
Feel free to drop by or pen a letter

After the incident with the OD we have been working with the nurses from Somerset public health, passing out info to the hot spots about narcan and ways to get off drugs, it’s a hapless volunteer job , the narcan is being abused, used as a safety net to continue abuse ,
We have a canoe at “beer can beach”,we use it to fish and explore , we dig up old bottles behind the “New Balance” I’m actually the luckiest man in the world ,
Thank you for friend ship.
Yappy, I love your heart and your openness sharing your personal info with RF Burns. I think it speaks to the trust and love felt on the CTH. I love this site and everything it represents. I learn something new and valuable here every day.
I spent most of my life being bitter , I just resently turned over a new leaf, something happened.
I always cried and yelled , if people hate me I want them to hate me for something I’ve done something I’m guilty of not a gossip, but after watching Trump and how they hated him 99.9 % of them were lies, why am I so different, so special, it was like a millstone on my neck , but because of Trump I was able to let go of that , free myself of my false pride, let people think what they want , I’m free of such ridiculous thinking . Now my thoughts have direction they are not encumbered with ” what others think”
It’s a simple life now.?
