I’m so sorry ? Ours was early on last year. First, it was ‘none of us have been tested’ when only people with symptoms were being tested. Then it was ‘will y’all wear masks?’-which was a big fat NO! I know the feeling. My own family is half vaxxed half not but, no problems with gathering at all. I am currently a thousand miles from home trying to help handle a family emergency with the ex’s family regarding a step daughter with two small children. Her family is sheeple all the way, hard core democrats, Fauci is god and CNN is the source of all knowledge and wisdom. My ex said I had to lie to her parents to visit them because otherwise they would blame me for every ailment from now till their death. I laughed and agreed because I know them so well. In this situation, I was more at risk than they were so I figured what the heck.
Likewise. I struggle with being unvaccinated & seeing friends who are. Don’t want to spread it if I get it, but don’t want to get it from someone vaccinated either.
My husband got his first jab & is spreading out getting the 2nd for some stupid logic like he wants to be able to take care of me if I get COVID…… I think i’m going bonkers some days

Since I don’t interact with friends that much (alright I really don’t have any current ones except that saint of a woman I’m married to) all I can add are my observations from my local travels. Started to notice in a large warehouse club today that the masks were roughly 50-50. You can’t attribute this to ideological differences anymore; since I reside in a state with no mask mandate I think there are a sizable number of folks who may consider themselves liberal or progressive but enjoy being able to make their own decisions about it. I’m sure sure some are vaxxed, and some not. I’m just glad I’m in one of those states. Postscript: There is a local “mandate” but no businesses I’ve been in are enforcing it!

Just NEED to say… for the past 79 years, I/we as a family (many gone now) have been celebrating … New Years Eve, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Easter, Thanksgiving….and many others.. We did so once again, as a family in 2019 – 2020 and will again in 2021..

We had two family gatherings last Christmas and are planning the same this year. In my 68 years I’ve never asked Tiny Tony’s permission to do anything and I never will.
Since the “pandemic” started my wife and I have gone out to eat whenever we wanted, gone to basketball and football games sitting elbow to elbow with people, and gotten together with family on a regular basis. We refuse to live in fear. Even my 86 year old mother has averaged going out to eat about twice a month.
