The New Zealand Ministry of COVID compliance has been attempting to stop COVID-19 for almost two years. On August 17th, the extreme far-left New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, announced a “level four” emergency shutdown. Auckland New Zealand was placed in a level-4 lockdown, meaning all restaurants are shut down even for takeout, and people within the L4 zone are to remain in strict isolation bubbles and quarantine confinement.
Enforcement of the quarantine bubbles are carried out by police and military units. Police checkpoints keep citizens from traveling into or out of the quarantine perimeter of Auckland.
After an extensive sting operation and police chase, law enforcement announced today they successfully arrested three men who were attempting to gain re-entry into Auckland with a significant amount of contraband Kentucky Fried Chicken, ten tubs of coleslaw, and a large amount of illegal french fries. A breach of the Covid-19 Public Health Response Act can result in imprisonment for up to six months; or a fine of up to $4,000.

There is something really dystopian about government officials telling citizens to remain compliant, use QR codes, activate their bluetooth tracing and stop talking to their neighbors. I agree….always chose rescue instead of the outrageous fees a seller wants. Just rescued a Border Collie/Husky mix myself. A dog keeps me more active then a cat, but love cats also. Oh, the dog is a treasure….soft mouth, doesn’t jump on people, comes when called etc. Good dog.

I was actually making KFC chicken back in 1967-68 when it was sold through a midAtlantic burger chain called “Ginos” owned by a former Baltimore Colt, Gino Marchetti. Compared to anything else at that time, I thought it was great!

Agree with all your points liberty. As a nurse, I always felt that we were the true patient advocates and in my experience, that was the case. Whenever I want a good doctor or a referral to a specialist, I ask a nurse. They see it all and they know who the good doctors are as opposed to a doctor referral which all too often was biased by professional “friendships” or financial benefits, or more recently pressure to refer within the hospital system that now employs them.
Surveys showed repeatedly that nurses were one of the most trusted professionals by the public. Sadly, that seems to be changing. The cultural/educational/ideological changes have permeated every corner of our society. In 20 years no one will be here to inform our kids, grandkids of the life and freedoms we once enjoyed. We are living the zombie apocalypse.

Just to clarify, these guys had a hundy thou in cash in their car as well, and they were gang members. At the moment in NZ we have our biggest city Auckland at one level of lockdown and the rest of the country at a lighter level. The level Auckland was at at the time this happened does not permit takeaway food services to operate and this KFC was just across the border.
KFC is particularly coveted by certain ethnic groups in our nation and to which group those gang guys belonged. I think they were doing a KFC run and either forgot or didn’t know that the car they were using had the loot.

I see all of this on a continuum where one might think, yeah, but if they did here what they’re doing in Australia, then, THEN we would resist. But I’m not so sure. Inch by inch the left advances, and inch by inch, citizens, for the most part comply.
How many have, or are willing to risk being doxxed, fined, arrested, threatened, etc? If history is any guide, most people comply because survival for that hour or that day becomes paramount and even if we can appreciate the big picture loss of compliance on that day, crisis mode kicks in. Plus, most people are cowards. Hate to say it, but when the s*** hits the fan, that’s what history shows us over and over again.
There’s more to this. Many keep asking why this is going on there now. Well, sure it’s a test, but it’s also an example. We are watching in real time as the people there finally rise up against this tyranny. What will we see next? Will we see the government cave and let the people regain their freedom?
That would be nice, but it’s not likely. Much more likely is we’ll watch as the government stomps a representative sample of free people into the ground. What have we watched here in the US? We saw hundreds of thousands of patriots show up to pray that Congress will finally restore morality and basic decency into the equation and we watched as the government staged an excuse to murder a few of those patriots as an excuse to stomp on the others. We’ve watched since as the government rounds up one after another minor character to make examples of.
We won’t be seeing the government there or here back down. We’ll be treated to watching the government there, then here, target those who resist. Live rounds? If you don’t believe that will happen you haven’t been paying attention. Militarization of local police forces was no accident. This is playing there first expressly to show us what we will experience. When we see the resisters shot down in the streets there how many will venture out here?
There is a lesson though. Don’t believe that mass protests (alone) will sway the fascists who are in control at the top. The rulers cannot rule without willing goons to do the dirty work. Each of those goons lives somewhere. Those who are not yet totally corrupted must be confronted by those who know them. Any person you know who falls into the enforcer class should be directly personally confronted and forced to face the truth of what they are part of. Do not allow them the luxury of denying their part in the fascist state. Force them to own what they do and what they support. Force them to openly declare their values and openly declare their choice of salary/pension over freedom or freedom over temporary financial security. By stripping away the enforcers we strip away the fascist power.
If I ever get arrested with food contraband, I sure hope it’s prime rib, baked potatoes, salad and creme brulee. KFC is just embarrassing.

Anyhow, the evidence is going to smell mighty ripe by the time this bust goes to trial. That is unless the case is dismissed due to lack of evidence… because the cops ate it.
Wasn’t this latest round of lockdowns due to one case of ‘Covid’? Sounds like NZ nazis are just upping the cycle threshold on a pcr test to 50 every couple of months. Get them a positive test result.
Oh, and one other thing, people were not banned from or discouraged from leaving their houses for exercise or just for a gentle stroll around. Masks not mandated outdoors, but under the Level 4 restrictions you were not supposed to travel outside your regions (which are largish, maybe not by US standards, but up to hundreds of km across), and not supposed to undertake dangerous activities that might require emergency assistance, and that included swimming and surfing. It is winter in the Southern Hemisphere though, so swimming is not currently in vogue. Driving to and walking on a beach is fine as long as it is in your region, and you maintain a certain distance while doing so.
It is tolerated because the total Covid deaths in NZ so far is 27, all elderly, and cases (in 5M population) is just a few thousand. Some still believe that Covid can be eliminated, highly unlikely but until it escapes most people will support or at least work within reasonable restrictions, for the short term anyway.
2 years of this crap and nary a whimper from the people? Zero COVID doesn’t exist. I’ve got further bad news, looks like natural immunity is literally the way forward and countries like NZ are again in the most danger…
