This evening the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of Texas in a lawsuit against the federal government. [View pdf Here] The outcome is a ruling requiring the Biden administration to reinstitute the “remain in Mexico” policy put into place during the Trump administration. The policy requires asylum seekers to remain in Mexico while they await hearings in the United States.
The ruling was 6-3 with Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Stephen Breyer dissenting from the majority opinion. The ruling is a significant victory for Missouri and Texas, the two states who sued over Biden’s repeal of the policy and won a favorable ruling earlier this month requiring the Biden administration to return to the Trump-era policy.

Its actually really simple, IF State governments and Legislatures wanted to address the issue, and they don’t have to worry about Federal pre-emption.
In Federal immigration law, there is a clear, unambiguous “carve out”; an EXCEPTION to Federal pre-emption;
STATES issue business licences, within their State. And Federal immigration law specifically recognises this.
So, States could pass a law, that any business employing illegals loses their business licence.
First offence, a fine. Second offence, surrender your “Priviledge tax licence”, without which 99 percent of all businesses can NOT operate.
Create a small division, within the State tax department, funded through collected fines, so they can’t be defunded, and send them out to begin checking employers.
IF the employer can show they have e-verified every employee, that is an affirmative defence.
MOST illegals, without work will leave. ICE can deal with the rest.
Points are, ONE; This solution has ALWAYS been available to State governments, they have not excercised it because, for the most part they are corrupted, too.
Second, it IS possible to reverse the damage being done, even at this late date, IF their is the WILL to do it.
Third, FEDERALISM, aggressive Federalism can lead us out of this mess.
Finally, the first State to actually pass such a law, would see unemployment drop, and wages go UP, at ALL levels.
Initially, the illegals in THAT State, would just move to other States.
All things which would be strong encouragement for OTHER States to adopt the same approach.

I generally agree, but I’m not on board with slaughtering kids or enslaving adults. The majority of border jumpers are poor as hell and think they can improve their lot by working in the US for awhile. They’re economic pawns of a corrupt and failing government. That doesn’t mean I want them here, but I also don’t think it’s right to butcher them. I say send them back to where they came from, then guard the border with soldiers. Anyone who tries to force their way into the US could then be met with overwhelming military force. If they use children as shields, then all the remains should be sent back and Mexico should be sanctioned. Force the Mexicans to do their part. Trump was able to get them to do something, so I’m sure they can be motivated again.

Trump was impeached (twice!) for absolutely nothing. Obama committed far worse offenses and not only was nothing done, he was praised for his strong decisive leadership bucking the law and Constitution to get results pleasing to the left.

the peaceful marches and protests that led to many paradigm changes..you find violent ACTS did happen even if that was not to desired intention…so even in actions that were “, decent” on order for the changes to finally happen, required a certain violent act.
then on the other side, you have the most violent actions in modern history:. murdering indefensible little humans in the womb..
but even violent protests have done little to alter this … not bombing of abortion centers..murdering doctors who perform these acts of evil.
the point is that VIOLENCE seems to show itself with varied results…the irrationality of violence then isn’t the decider.
it is the accepted significance of what justice comes from it.
if let’s say someone defends themselves in a gun fight..we would say violence is rational and no reasonable person would condemn it.
on the other hand indiscriminate violence that isn’t defending any meaningful interest other than fulfilling some desire to decide the fate of let’s say Mexican who crosses the border illegally…how does that make rational sense? what would be the purpose?

The US needs to do what Australia does. No I am not talking about beating people and spraying them with pepper spray.
I am talking about what they do with illegal immigrants who manage to get into the country. Such persons are finger printed and eye scanned before being deported and banned for life from ever returning to Australia for any reason.
The airports in Australia all have eye scanners. The last time I was there I was surprised that there was no passport control. One simply stood in front of a camera and a gate opened after the scanner recorded one’s eye data. They have very little trouble with illegals as they have a zero tolerance policy. We need to do the same thing here.
