No. It’s not weird, and it’s not the best way to protect your kids.
The best way to protect kids from the more devastating impact of crazy (ie. life with leftists), is for adults to act like adults, apply common sense adult thinking toward the insanity of the idiots, and ridicule the “scientists” in front of the children.
Teach children the skills of critical thinking, logical thinking, that gives them intellectual armor against the interests of the communal crazy tribe. That skillset is very likely to save their lives.

They’re demanding a religious exemption application or a medical exemption in order to continue employment. “Church going conservatives”-were also trained to trust their long term doctors. Both of mine (20-25 year associations) pushed the vaccines because I am elderly. They got offended when I questioned the safety and suggested we are all third phase clinical trial subjects. I finally took the J&J feeling 1 shot was safer than two……….but I have convinced all of my adult children and teen aged grands to AVOID the shots. We all take vit D, zinc, vit C etc.
. My internist said I had the highest serum D level of any of his patents. But he also said if I came in early with symptoms—he would consider Regeneron (monoclonial antibodies) but NOT hydroxichloroquine or Ivermectin. I told him I could get those on line and he didn’t like it when I implied he was tethered to big Pharma.
So I have managed to irritate my two Docs. At this late stage of my life the only thing worse would be to alienate my Pastor. 🙂

Board member: “I’m worried about the kids who while they eat lunch, take off their masks and talk to each other. Isn’t talking to each other a real risk?”
Health Professional: “Yes. It’s also a choking hazard.”

I am despairing over how quickly people are masking up again. I knew the commies would try again, but I really believed that people would just refuse. I was encouraged by the video of the healthcare providers in NC that protested. It looked like a pretty big crowd. If mass protests start here they will gain steam really quickly. We need that.

My family in France have been quiet about all of this and I have asked them about the protests and how they are doing over there.

The particulate matter is larger than a virus. There are so many aseptic procedures in surgery other than masks. The AORN nurse runs the room and not the surgeons who only perform the surgery. Best way to protect our kids from what? A virus that hardly ever makes them sick and that almost NO kids are hospitalized with or die from? Do I have that about right?

Living in a liberal state, last year I was surrounded by people with their sewing machines in overdrive pumping out masks for their friends and neighbors made from whatever material was available. With all the “nonessential” stores closed that led to some creativity in the construction of these masks. While colorful and ornate, most of these masks looked like they would provide less protection than cheese cloth. Lacking such tools, at the beginning of the mask mandate I found a YouTube video showing how to make a mask from layers of paper towel, tissues, some paper, and a rubber band. Not sure how well it worked health wise, but at least I could step into the grocery store without facing the wrath of the know-it-alls.
Several of my nice and well meaning neighbors were very busy bees sewing all kinds of colorful masks for their family and friends and some were selling them.
Posters and flyers were every where telling me what I could buy and how they would make them up to order in any color or pattern.
Nice church ladies were bragging on my daughter in laws facebook about how many ( several hundred each) masks they had made for the needy people around the world, guess her church was going to ship and hand them out some how.
For a while it seemed as if I could not get away from all of the proud as a peacock sewing ladies humbly bragging about their large output.
I cringed when I saw a mom and two little girls enter a store with cloth masks made with material that matched their little dresses. That took thought and planning. It was sad that these little girls were being used for an “I’ll show you how perfect I am” moment.

I spent 3 hours at the DMV the other day. An hour on hold waiting to speak to someone. Two hours at the DMV waiting in line. The person on the phone gave me a detailed rundown of what I needed to do, and helpfully suggested which DMV was closest to home.

This I think is a new role for the NIH. They have been primarily a cloistered research organ handing out US dollars (around 50 billion/yr) to promote medical research. The have not been up to now so much an executive advisory branch since their quantifiable output is in peer reviewed research papers and co-written advisory papers (6 month minimum lead time). The CDC on the other hand seems to have transformed into an bigger role in advice and executive orders, etc. Actually it seems like the excutive branch HHS would be the “organ” to propose mandates etc.
Interestingly, Johns Hopkins University was founded in the wake of the Great Influenza Pandemic as I read about 1/3 the book by John Barry about how JHU came about because Harvard was not really doing the research job needed. JHU today has a very large role in guiding the “science” (actually the political wind of the science) that is globally accepted today.
I once asked a colleague why Johns Hopkins seems to have so many well known medical QUACKs pronouncing things? He was a graduate of JHU and said they have just as many or as few, as everyone else except because they come from JHU they are more well known. That’s medical school humor, lol.

Being at high risk I have been contemplating getting the jab as the case numbers go up.
Constant lies like Fauci and Francis Collins spout gives me more encouragement that holding off on it is the right thing to do. Media lies, censorship, and attempts at coercing or forcing the experimental vaccine also make me even more resistant to getting it.
Gina, I too am high risk because of age. BUT……….YOU …..can take steps to limit your risk, and remember even high risk people are only .5 at risk of death. Stay away from medical places and persons and those who have been vaccinated, Take VIT C and D each day along with Zinc. Some are taking Quercetin and other preventive options.

Same here. I am supposedly high risk but will not take the jab, and for reasons based in both medicine and principle. In the latter case, I simply cannot participate in the destruction of Western civilization, which is what we are experiencing.
I don’t believe that, at a higher age, we are at any more risk than from the flu, and I’ve never had — or even considered — a “flu shot.” Age is not a morbidity (well, wait, maybe in a way, but not in the way they’re talking about…)O
