Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is a rising star in the republican party mostly for his MAGA alignment and steadfast approach toward common sense governance. DeSantis has been a great leader for the state of Florida and has nationwide recognition for his leadership style and fearless approach toward confronting the bias in media.
At 42-years-old with three kids DeSantis really does work tirelessly on behalf of his state. He is well known for traveling almost every day to meet people in every area of the state while conducting official state business. Grounded in pragmatic conservative principles the Florida governor has a firm commitment to individual reliance, freedom and liberty; this outlook has been clear in his approach toward the COVID crisis.
Yesterday Governor DeSantis held a townhall event at The Villages, and went into more details about both his personal perspectives and his outlook on current political issues that concern the voting electorate. The townhall event hosted by Newsmax is a great opportunity to get to know DeSantis.

My biggest concern with DeSantis is how effective he would be as president. I see him sign plenty of bills because Florida has a R legislature, but how much work could he get done dealing with congress?
Well, that certainly sounds like a deal breaking criticism….almost as bad as being Romney or McCain or Haley or Bush I guess.
“my concern is how effective he would be as president” “how much work could get done dealing with Congress?”…. THAT is a deal-breaking criticism akin to Romney, McCain, Haley or Bush?????????
With all due respect, what the hell are you talking about? It’s not even a criticism. It is two questions. That make no sense. I think you should get a hobby, Write. You don’t seem to have an aptitude for this stuff.
Actually he posed only one question. The first “how” was used as a conjunction.
Ok, who is going to diagram that sentence?
How much did even Trump get done dealing with congress? And the perma-bureaucracy?
He was dealing with a FRAUD DEM Congress. All Congress did was investigate Trump and his staff members including a very heroic General whom they had to get rid of because he knew too much. Hope all the Dem supporters are happy with the higher gas prices and going higher, Hi unemployment #’s, All food prices going up. inflation going up and last but not least the millions of ILLEGALS Biden is letting across the border taking jobs that should go the Citizens and spreading Covid since they are not getting tested at the BORDER and going to every STATE. I almost forget about the unrest now starting all over the WORLD that our CITIZENS will be fighting and getting killed for. If it were me in charge the first ones to be sent to the MIDDLE EAST would be ANTIFA. Let them see what a real war is.
President Trump was dealing with a FRAUD GOP Congress as well. Nobody would work with him which is why they are all trash and the entire UNiparty must be put to the curb. We need a clean slate of state reps. A true MAGA slate.
Unfortunately President Trump was not only fighting the Democrats and that made it difficult for him to really get things done. Had the Republicans coalesced behind him he could have done many more good thing for the country but doing good for the country is not necessarily good for these politicians and President Trump cost these politicians many millions by putting a lid on their graft.
Trump capitulated to the permanent bureaucracy like McConnell, Ryan and company and it cost him two years of inefficiency and terrible nominations. I don’t think DeSantis will fall into that trap but I don’t want my governor running for national office and leaving Florida to some weak kneed Republican or Democrat.
The GOPe was the hidden enemy. McConnell held Senate in session so Trump could not recess appoint cabinet. For 1st 2 years Ryan stymied everything. McCain torpedoed real health reform. BS on it all!
My concern is that I don’t want him to leave as my Governor.
Sheesh. You and me both.
I’d LOVE to see DeSantis as President someday – and fully expect to see it happen..
But NOT until his tenure as Gov. here is done.
He’s a young man. He can be Prez in 2028.
And when he’s done being President, maybe he can come back and be Gov. of Fl. again. LOL.
Is that legally possible? Only *half* kidding here.
I’ve never had a Gov. before who’s working for We the People, so it’s hard to let go!
It is legal but improbable.
Will the USA still be the USA by then? Communist move fast.
That is very scary but it really hasn’t been that fast since they have been indoctrinating our youth for two generations in the public schools. I don’t think many of these teachers are smart enough to realize the harm they are doing by teaching these young people to hate America and it’s individual liberty since they were the first and second generation indoctrinated with this collective total government theory.
“He’s a young man. He can be Prez in 2028.”
There may not be a recognizable America by then.
He needs to stay right where he is to show the other 49 states how it’s done. Gov DeSantis is a model governor. Please clone him in every state!
2032 or later.
BTW the comments on this site are “Awaiting for approval” I think “Awaiting approval” or “waiting for approval” are the correct way of making this point.
I tried to fix that minor bit of illiteracy…. his blog, his choice.
Ditto. He is only 42 and we need him for at least another term. He can then go to DC and, perhaps we see Don Jr.?
Re “…perhaps we see Don Jr.?”
For governor of Florida or many other important offices, perhaps; but, NOT as president…
Donald Trump has only ONE child who is Constitutionally eligible to ever be president (or vice president); and, that’s his daughter Tiffany.
The Constitution requires one to be a natural born citizen in order to hold either of those offices. To be a natural born citizen, one MUST be born on US soil to TWO US citizen parents.
While all of Trump’s offspring were born on US soil, Tiffany is the only one whose mother was a US citizen when she was born. Therefore, she is the only Trump child who is a natural born citizen and Constitutionally eligible to ever legally serve as vp or president.
^^This. My son is ineligible. He is half Canadian, born in the USA. I, of course, am a US citizen and my folks helped found the country. Luckily, son has no ambitions in politics or big-picture anything. He just wants to work on cars. ?
Re “My son is ineligible.”
Thank you for your loyalty to the Constitution.
I have a nephew who is ineligible because he was born in South Korea when his father, my brother, was stationed there. If he attempted to run for president or vp, I would do everything legally and morally to destroy his chances of being successful.
I would do the same regarding ANY person who attempted to violate the Constitution in that or any other manner; INCLUDING, any ineligible child of Donald Trump.
We, as conservatives, cannot ignore the Constitution for ANY reason!
Re “He is half Canadian, born in the USA. I, of course, am a US citizen…”
Just curious. I assume your son is ineligible for the reason that his mother was not a US citizen when he was born, right?
The Trumps could be awesome at state level. Team MAGA needs more than a quarterback. We need a whole team to assist.
“To be a natural born citizen, one MUST be born on US soil to TWO US citizen parents.”
Nonsense, the Courts have already told you you are wrong.
You’ll figure it out when you realise McCain was born in Puerto Rico, and was a perfectly valid candidate.
He actually only needed one US parent.
SMH…
I’m not even going to attempt to debate the natural born citizen issue with someone whose ‘research’ is so lacking that it results in the erroneous belief that John McCain was born in Puerto Rico.
Try again when you can tell me where McCain was really born…
When you can actually cite any case in which the US Supreme Court EVER cited any definition of natural born citizen other than “children born in a country, of parents [plural] who were its citizens…”
Panama
I don’t know about Don Jr but Obama had a foreign father.
Kamala’s parents weren’t citizens when she was born, I can’t see how she is eligable.
At least Don Jr.’s father was born in the USA.
But President Trump’s mother was born and immigrated here from Scotland.
So, what now?
You’re right about Kamala Harris not being eligible.
Obama was also ineligible since his father was not a US citizen when little Barry was born. His father’s lack of US citizenship was admitted by usurper Obama and is also a matter of public record.
As for Donald J. Trump’s mother, the birthplace of neither parent matters. What matters is whether the parents are US citizens at the moment their child is born (on US soil). Both of Donald’s parents WERE US citizens when he was born and he was born on US soil. Therefore, he is Constitutionally eligible to be president.
To summarize, eligibility for president and vp requires ALL THREE of the following…
NOTE: The order of listing does not imply one being more important than any other. Each has equal importance.
I don’t blame you.
Sure he is going to have a Republican congress and senate MINUS the RHINOS
In the age of Imperial Presidency and EOs, Congress is irrelevant.
Answer: It doesn’t matter, we already lost.
If working with Congress means caving to everything the “leadership” wants, both D and R, then he is not the man for the job. If instead he successfully bypasses the swamp organisms and convinces the American citizens, then he’s the man.
Thinking along those lines, do you think we should even have a president?
Thinking along those lines should we even have a constitution or a country? You sound like a mouthpiece for the UN’s Agenda 21 One World Order. We may as well take down old glory and burn it, right?
Well maybe, just maybe, we can walk AND chew gum?
You are absolutely right. We need to rebuild this nation from the ground up. If anything, we need MORE Ron DeSantis’ at the STATE level, not some figurehead tossed into that White House swamp.
Has anyone been paying attention these last 4 years? Patriots initially thought we had a MAGA President plus two MAGA branches to back him up. But we were WRONG!
How much could our greatest President ever, accomplish with a broken and corrupted CONgress? The answer is not much besides a flurry of temporary EO’s that are quickly undone when a new President steps in.
The STATES hold the power to enact legislation that has staying power, laws with teeth; States hold the power to impeach and REMOVE Presidents.
The STATES hold the power to adopt or get rid of these hackable voting terminals. And state legislatures choose the electors who elect our Presidents. Voters can in fact be cut entirely out of this process, without even violating the Constitution, as we saw on January 6.
STATES hold all the cards.
MAGA must FIRST come to every single state. We need to keep these Ron DeSantis’ Patriots right where they are, and clone many more of them at STATE level. THAT is the only way our next President can hope to function, without all the same treasonous snakes to poison the well.
“How much could our greatest President ever, accomplish with a broken and corrupted CONgress? The answer is not much besides a flurry of temporary EO’s that are quickly undone when a new President steps in.”
Unfortunately, I think there is an even bigger threat than a corrupted Congress.
If we don’t gain the ability to gut the 3 letter agencies then it probably won’t matter if we get a MAGA Congress or not. The DOJ is going to have to be COMPLETELY remade or we are totally screwed and just playing games where the outcome is fixed. Jmho.
LOL
What work with an D congress got done by PDJT?
Even with an R congress the only thing of consequence was tax cuts.
Luckily the senate was R for his four years so he nominated many judges.
That didn’t work out so good for the steal though.
“How much work could he get done dealing with congress?” Nonsense question. Firstly, you could say the same about anyone in the world. Secondly, you don’t work with congress. You communicate with “we the people” and lead congress.
This argument is a non starter. The GOPe was the hidden enemy. McConnell held Senate in session so Trump could not recess appoint cabinet. For 1st 2 years Ryan stymied everything. McCain torpedoed real health reform. Just to mention a few.
depends how much of the uniparty and GOPe can be removed from congress. They’re just a front group for the US Chamber anyway. His bigger issue will be trying to staff up. That was Trump Achilles heel, he only had a handful of people loyal to him and they made sure he was surrounded by people who would block his agenda. So a President DeSantis is going to have to fight the FBI and the IC to get his own people in place. I’m hoping his opening salvo will be abolishing the FBI.
But do Liz Cheney and Mitt Romney like him ? How about the Ghost of John McCain? How about Evan McMullin, how does he feel about him?
We wouldn’t want them to leave the Republican Party, now would we?
Do they pass the Cheney/Romney test?
The new gauge on wether to kick a candidate to the curb.
Hi xxxxx,
Yesterday I laid out my goals as GOP Conference Chair.
We have a historic opportunity and our mission is clear. We’re going to bring about a RED WAVE ACROSS AMERICA in 2022!
Here’s how we’ll do it:
1) Share a disciplined and unified CONSERVATIVE message;
2) Stay on offense EVERY SINGLE DAY;
3) Empower ALL of our Republicans to shine!
My Republican colleagues will cast their votes for Conference Chair very soon, as early as tomorrow.
I’m calling out Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi. Just over 100 days into complete Democrat control in Washington, and we have a BORDER CRISIS, an ENERGY CRISIS, and a WEAKENED FOREIGN POLICY THAT ENDANGERS OUR COUNTRY… and these Far-Left Democrats in Congress are just getting started!
Stand with me to TAKE BACK THE HOUSE and FIRE PELOSI next November.
Elise Stefanik
Stefanik is selling platitudes while ignoring election fraud. She needs to go.
She’s not going anywhere. Trump wants her.
And what is she suppose to do about the fraud? Preach to an empty choir?
Yay yay GOP! Wait WHAT?
The GOP who torpedo Trump??
Let’s try something old instead of new, ok? Let’s go back to a point when history was a little more conducive to America not some jumble of hodgepodge diversity.
God, our Lord and savior and put ‘him’ first. How? Find men and women of character and principles, people wHo value the attributes of God and live it. Then get behind them with all we have.
If they don’t give God all the credit for good they have or achieved, then no, they are not worthy. And that’s a start not a finish.
Did you know every time you put forth Gods attributes you enter him in the equation? Love, Truth, wisdom, understanding and those are all common sense.
If people don’t want some attribute you offer, if you have to force it or trick them to accept it then, it’s not God, it’s not of God, not worth it.
Or yes, go pull the GOP into power and watch them finish off our country.
I’m not talking about third party, I’m saying, God first, then GOP or who ever. Once that benchmark is established it will smooth out.
If God can not even take care of Himself, he is not a God.
In this sphere, God has chosen to allow humans free will. God can smash humanity like a bug, fling the planets into utter chaos, and obliterate the universe. His Arm is not shortened.
However, the Church Militant is the Body of Christ on this Earth. We are called as believers to do the bidding of God in all that we think and do. Thus the Word and Glory of God are spread throughout the world without God forcing his creation to “bend the knee.” That’s not Who God is. Believe or not believe. It’s up to you. God has made clear the consequences of both choices.
No mention of rigged elections, but otherwise laser focus on unimportant things.
This letter is a good start. She was quite fierce during the faux impeachment. The Republican Party needs smart, fierce leaders in Washington. Our backs are against the wall in Washington, opposed by the Dems, the press and the RINOS. Cheney is a RINO, and will be on CNN once she’s primaried next summer.
You dear Elise Stefanik( nice Slavs) name HAVE DONE NOTHING FROM 11/042020-01/07/2021 TO SAVE OUR COUNTRY !!!!!!
Stefanik made not a single mention of President Trump’s successful economic agenda. She was an outspoken member of Republican opposition to PDJT’s trade deals and tariffs that were an integral part of the record-setting low unemployment numbers.
She appears to operate as if President Trump and MAGA never existed. I’m not sure she has earned Deplorables’ support and allegiance. It was President Trump alone who promised to fix serious issues affecting Americans that were deliberately screwed up for decades. He actually followed through and acted on everything in the agenda that he was able to do despite the GOPe seriously obstructing and undermining him every step of the way.
Stefanik has made some strong statements that ring well in Deplorables’ ears, but this seems to be a strategy and tactic that GOPe members often use, but then never follow through and really make substantive improvements.
Caveat Emptor
those who count votes determining the outcomes of elections. everything else is entertainment.
A fearless Beast… With a high IQ, sane conservative views and a boatload of common sense.
A prince being thus obliged to know well how to act as a beast must imitate the fox and the lion, for the lion cannot protect himself from traps, and the fox cannot defend himself from wolves. One must therefore be a fox to recognize traps, and a lion to frighten wolves.
Well said, Nick!
Thank you Sundance. It’s refreshing to listen to someone with common sense. If it weren’t for loving living near my grandchildren, my bags would be packed to move back to Pensacola where some of my family hails from.
This DeSantis Town Hall was upbeat, very professional and informative. The well informed Conservative Governor was flawless in answering every question. He obviously studies all of the important issues intensely and in greater depth than most or all other politicians.
He has an affable personality and instills a rare voting confidence in his electorate via hard work, wise policies and honesty.
What did he say about the Navy’s motto? Honor, Courage and Commitment — he shows all of those. Thank you, Lord, for men such as these!!
De Santis is a ‘buck stops here’ type rarity.
Excellent.
He takes responsibility for everything he does.
He also understands he’s the elected representative, not the “experts” with various agendas that are to be heard, but that’s all.
Political “experts” are just another lobby group with the same biases as Joe Sixpack.
…(as well as many, many other people)….he sure has it correct that it is important to learn in school, at home etc.
the “how to think”
instead “what to (mis) think” (and be a limp noodle about whatever a high mind-bending / pretzel thinking bureacracy says you must do, or else ( here comes the un-awake, woke, inequitable, political (in)correctness monitors or mis-media to mis-twist and exploit whatever … )
The contrast of how Florida would be today is stark,
if Floridians (or pol. machinery) had uhhhh…
…elected the opponent in 2018
(and believe it or not, there was only a 0.5% difference in the election outcome….0.5% …largely due a Huge amount of cash etc. spent to mis-market the opponent…
…Huge and Ridiculous….and they will do it again… they thirst for mis-control and money (not virtue).)
So, be aware and resolute ….
There are a lot of good works to continue to do…together…
(and some people can be tricked / exploited with proverbial wooden-nickels, glamor, mudslinging etc. upon a very good candidate or incumbent, whatever … it’s been proven, many times…)
“Prove all things,
hold fast to that which is good.” i.e. do not take any wooden-nickels (whatever the words, form, mis-action etc.)

I’m proud to be a Floridian and our state is very fortunate to have DeSantis as our governor.
Our Federal Government is out of control driven by the globalist agenda. Damm the constitution full speed ahead. Our representative form of government has failed, self serving corporate owned politicians keep getting re elected term after term. Unelected bureaucrats make cumbersome regulations and policies destroying states rights and individual freedoms. They also wright the content of executive orders.
Trump proved that one man alone cannot win this battle. Alphabet federal agencies spied on him and set him up the with fake Russia collusion investigation starting before he even took office. The democrats became an opposition party and not once but twice tried to impeach him on baseless grounds. The Republican Party leaders hamstrung his appointments and failed to kill the affordable care act. They also
My wife of over 30 yrs always kidded me about being too conservative.
Then she became a Trump fan (because of his MAGA and promises kept) and now she wants to move to Florida to be governed by DeSantis rather than our idiot here in NJ.
Problem is DeSantis isn’t always gonna be there…….
If you know what I mean.
Re “Problem is DeSantis isn’t always gonna be there…….”
True. However, with enough conservatives such as you and your wife voting in Florida, someone else of similar caliber can be elected to continue his work there.
Good point. I came to Florida from NY last year. We need more MAGA voters if Florida is to remain a free state. Believe me, I know what the alternative looks like. (And no, I DIDN’T vote for that.)
I hope he stays for a lot of years as Gov. because America needs him there.
…and there are multiple other states faring pretty well, under the circumstances…
and with due diligence.
[and some other states that are way, way under performing (but are mis-media darlings) ] fwiw.
What is/are “The Villages”?
It’s a retirement community. https://www.thevillages.com/
Re: What is/are “The Villages”?
Click>>> The Villages, Florida – Wikipedia
Wow, it’s huge. They don’t allow kids, I find that creepy. Not my kinda people, I see and care for my grandkids as much as possible!
It’s a hedonistic retirement locale for oversexed seniors. That town has historically had the highest STD rate in FL.
Yikes!
I love Florida because it feels like the California of my youth. But we can lose this too if the scourge of our individual freedoms, election fraud, is not ripped out by the roots. As long as even one tabulating machine that can alter votes is left in place, we will NEVER have free and fair elections.
McConnell and Pelosi hold power not because they control reelection funds (an insiders game for the full employment of deposed politicians) but because they DIRECTLY control vote outcomes. It is no coincidence that the rise of Blue in California happened in the early 90s with the surprise election of 2 Dem Senators and the widespread use of electronic voting machines that can have tallies altered.
Demand, today, of all your state representatives to document their efforts in removing these infernal machines.
One of the first things DeSantis did was get rid of Brenda Snipes who used to run the Broward County Elections. She cheated in every way she could and that is probably why the other guy came so close to DeSantis in that election. When they caught her cheating, her response was that that is the way they had always done it and she had been in that job for probably 20 years. I think the only way the Dems are going to win here is by cheating. And, the machines need to go.
Yes, DeSantis sounds like a common sense guy for sure. My only problem is that he does not want to do a forensic audit of his machines. We have too many close races and that should be a #1 priority but because he and Trump won, he refuses to do it. That kind of thinking is very bad at this time of our life. I email constantly but I don’t even think he gets them.
Without the pressure from the citizens these guys won’t do what you want so I have been hoping someone would get organized or start some type of petition online to send to our governor demanding a FORENSIC audit be done. I am not an organizer but I sure wish maybe Sundance knows how to get something like this going and use his platform or point to someone who can.
DeSantis can’t honestly reform election integrity without doing a thorough investigation of his precincts procedures and all machines used. They also should have cut the voting days and got rid of ALL drop boxes. He tip-toed around this reform if you ask me.
I hope someone can help before the next election.
I really like DeSantis and hope he will stay our Gov for another term before running for Pres. But like many, these machines need to go and it is going to have to be the people demanding it before these politicians move on it.
So any advice would be great!
I have no suggestions, but what you say makes a lot of sense. I’m hoping what comes out of the Arizona audit will spur some investigations in other states, including Florida.
Getting rid of Brenda Snipes was one of the first really great things he did. SUCH a no-brainer.
Something that *should * been done years earlier, but Gov. Scott (now Sen.), wouldn’t touch that w/ a ten foot pole.
I agree. I can’t even guess why Scott wouldn’t do it. I think it was common knowledge what she was up to.
I do not live in Florida, but I called his office and left a message thanking him for his leadership and inspiring hope. DeSantis is top shelf!
It should be well noted that the Nevertrumpers hate DeSantis as much as they hate Trump.
So that removes any doubt about mean tweets. It was what we always knew it was and remains. They are absolutely opposed to America First and MAGA.
Back in the old days, people used to call that kind of talk “common sense”. I remember hearing the old-timers tell stories about people who knew what it was, used it and were great leaders. Reminds me a a guy who was the greatest president in my lifetime. I just hope the MAGA crowd remembers what plain English sounds like after listening to the resident in the WH for over 100 days. We need more common sense thinkers and zero politicians leading our country. Hope DeSantis stays this course.
Sean spicer and Newsmax should be avoided just like FNC or CNN because spicer is no different the Liz Cheney
He better be prepared for open warfare and siege warfare against the Government Party. That means firing thousands upon thousands of entrenched government bureaucrats. It means finding and hiring people who understand that a majority of their cabinet department employees are running a 5th Column inside the Government to derail and destroy their enemies…and then acting to put sunlight on those people and purge them from the Government.
I’m all in favor of the “getting to know you” forums. But I think the question he needs to answer is how he plans to identify, isolate, root out, and destroy the enemies of the Republic operating inside our own Government. And how he plans to win a national election in an era of outright election fraud.
We’ve got state and county election officials, often-times REPUBLICANS, destroying evidence, deleting databases, lying about vote counts, lying about water leaks, lying about signature verifications, and lying that Joe Biden was legitimately elected President.
I don’t see Republicans outside of FL firing incompetent/corrupt election boards. And I definitely don’t see Republicans at any level of Government working to root out corrupt members of the Government Party.
I love Sundance, Dutchman, and Hokoda even a little bit more than DeSantis.
He’ll be president but most importantly is to get him re-elected Governor of FL.
A lot can happen in one year. So important to keep the foot on the gas and get him over the finish line. If FL turns blue, the nation is finished.
I’m not ready just yet for the DeSantis era.
Many of us are still fighting to continue the Trump era. America First/MAGA/KAG. The restoration of America. Trump allowed it to begin, to be possible.
And to overturn the theft of 2020.
As long as The Fed is printing the money it doesn’t matter who makes the laws! I like Ron I think he’s honorable, but he’s insignificant to the real power structure…the minute he become significant he will be destroyed!
Americans…all the people of world, in fact, will never have freedom unless we destroy the families that control the money. Plain and simple!
This is why I haven’t despaired of the country yet. If there is one DeSantis there is another in the same vein ready to step up. He is the answer to my prayers.
The way to stuff done is have a Republican Congress and let the Dems walk all over you. Isn’t that what they are good at caving.
Wow! He said fantastic!
In all matters affecting state government and Floridians–education, healthcare, land management, environment, law enforcement, etc–the governor of florida, along with the its legislature and county sheriffs, have more power than a POTUS. They are the ones who are constitutionally authorized–nay, OBLIGATED–to stand between the feds and citizenry and tell washington they have no CONSTITUTIONAL authority over these matters.
And in cases where the feds do have authority (e.g., immigration), if they are exceeding it unlawfully and outside of its constitutional paraneters, the states must stand up and take back that authority until such a time as they determine the federal government can be delegated the responsibility again.
States created the federal government, and that which it created was never intended to have more power and authority over the creators. Our Founders proceeded from this standpoint; about time we do the same……
