Devastating. There are no words to adequately reflect the sadness in this day. Our beloved Rush Limbaugh has passed away after a battle with lung cancer.
Wings of angels dear friend,…. on wings of angels. Let us mourn deeply!

Rush Limbaugh, the monumentally influential media icon who transformed talk radio and politics in his decades behind the microphone, helping shape the modern-day Republican Party, died Wednesday at the age of 70 after a battle with lung cancer, his family announced.
Limbaugh’s wife, Kathryn, made the announcement on his radio show.
The radio icon learned he had Stage IV lung cancer in January 2020 and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Trump at the State of the Union address days later. First lady Melania Trump then presented America’s highest civilian honor to Limbaugh in an emotional moment on the heels of his devastating cancer diagnosis. (more from Fox News)

I remember listening to Rush in 1987, broadcast from Sacramento, before he left for New York. He was funny and wise, pointing out the absurdity of leftist ideology by being absurd. He is without peer.
Fair winds, Rush.
He was the go to talk show host to find the truth about what was going on.
He was a classy man, led a classy life….and handled his illness in a classy way.
Blessings on Rush and his family….he is missed.
With Rush gone, we only have President Trump now, folks. Pray for him.
And ourselves LeftTheGOP.
We must do more ourselves.
A modern day Patriot. Rest in Peace Friend.
I’ve been blessed with and by Rush from the early days at KFBK in Sacramento.
Godspeed, Rush, Godspeed.
Me too. I loved all the road signs on the Causeway with the tomatoes thrown at them.
He was truly a great man.
Me too ❤️ ?? ?
Now to think a bit realistically. I’ve been wondering if this will be another chance for big media (the less than 10 that own everything) to silence conservative radio. I would guess his cash cow (for stations) contract ends today. A few days/weeks of fill ins while the time slot is figured out. Then I think big media tries to silence all. Who among fill ins might carry his weight at the contract negotiations? There are good fill ins, but permanent take up the mantle? Granted the time slot will need something and we know liberal shows bomb since I’ve always said libs need the emotional visual stimuli of TV to work while conservatives are fine with the cerebral listen to views of radio. What will big media do?
This is my thought as well. Rush really doesn’t have any peers, and as I said above.. I don’t see any out there right now. His age and his breadth of knowledge just from living thru these things gives him a big advantage. The under 50s just don’t have it. His actual love and understanding of the Constitution and its history, the signers, is unmatched. I honestly can’t think of anyone who I would listen to for that amount of time, as I have with Rush. He’s funny, self deprecating and full of history that I never knew about. A lot of us have spent decades with the man. We know him, and that takes time. So, of the ones I currently see and know out there, I am not jazzed to hear any of them take his slot.
With their current attempt to rewrite history or simply eradicate it, the concept of eliminating all conservative speech would not be beyond the realm of possibility. We, as Rush listeners and supporters, cannot let them snuff out his memory, his legacy, his courage or his witness. To have 10% of Rush’s wisdom, strength and resilience would be enough to satisfy most mortals. Let us continue to honor Rush by picking up his candle and ensuring that it remains lit as long as our republic lives!
Trying not to be sad; but that’s impossible. That said, Rush was the master of parodies. Above all, Rush wanted us to be happy warriors. Enjoy. Post some of your favorites.
This one is my fave:
That is one of the reasons I became a 24/7 member years ago. To be able to watch Rush, cause he’s hilarious at times with his physical comedy. And you could hear these parodies instead of regular commercials. I wonder what never made the air cause it was too cutting or hilariously true? I can only imagine with his team of over 30 years.. they had a lot of fun at work 🙂
I remember listening to Rush at several local restaurants who had “Rush Rooms” in the early days. You could eat a fine lunch while listening to the Great One. There will never be another who comes close. RIP
Your battle on earth is over may Rest In Peace within the shelter of Gods love..
MAGA Dittos, dear Rush. Fair winds/following seas….
Hearing his wife Katheryn announce the terrible news to his fan base was a shock. She treated us like the family that were are. God bless you Rush Limbaugh.
It is like losing a member of the family. This is one sad day. But Rush left us with such a huge legacy. if you listened to Rush regularly, he has taught us all we need to know to carry on and save America. God bless you Rush. We will never forget you.
MisFireA, It truly was a lovely gesture to give us the news personally.
I spoke with Rush on his show many times!
He was gracious and heard me out….it got to the point where I only called when I had a minor point of disagreement because I didn’t want to be a sycophant.
My last conversation was nearly 10 years ago when I publicly declared, as a Hoosier, that our then Governor, Mitch Daniels was certain to enter the fray for the Republican Presidential nomination. Rush wasn’t a fan of Mitch bc he thought Mitch was dissing Reagan. I didn’t see it that way.
In any event, a mere few days later, Daniels announced he was not going to run.
My prayers are with his family and the nation. To have lost such a great and influential man today saddens my heart. I wish he could lie in state at the capital so we could all pay our respects. Lord knows he earned it! ?
Maybe Mar a Lago?
I am there, this man was the original “influencer” ❤️ I think it would be an enormous tribute to the worlds best!
America Lost one of its most valuable National Treasures today !
God Bless you Rush… Rest in Peace Brother !
Devastating. Even though he and his fans this day would come.
The fact that he passed away on Ash Wednesday is no coincidence.
God bless him and his family.
God welcome you Rush. You fought the fight and you will be hard to replace.
He is irreplaceable, there will never be another like him…RIP Rush, you are the Greatest…
Horrible news. Always hoped for the best for this always positive, uplifting and, yes, controversial man who influenced so many. Started with him in the 80’s so it is quite a loss for me–
President Trump called into Fox News a little bit ago and talked about Rush. He was talking to Harris Faulkner and Bill Hemmer..
I had turned on the channel like I do everyday and as soon as I heard his wife I knew he was gone. Very sad. Sure it will not take long for the reprobates to start celebrating but we know none of them would be worthy of kissing his feet.
thank you for everything Rush.
GODSPEED.
Like Paul Harvey, Rush was one of a kind. I feel I have lost a member of the family. A very sad day for us all. RIP, dear Rush.
How brave he was continuing on with his show until near the end. God Speed this decent and kind man.
I remember when I first heard him on WABC–he had to do a local program before they let him use the mic for a national show–and I was dumbfounded; here was someone that I agreed with, to the extent that it felt like he was speaking my words. His foil on that local show was the newsreader, a young lady who made some outrageously stupid pronouncements. When callers would react to Rush and they agreed, that’s where the “Dittos” came from; but when they were reacting to the newsreader’s statements, callers would begin their calls with “Dodos”.
Rush put a halt on that after a while, but the newsreader was quietly moved to afternoon talk shows that were less, shall we say, confrontational.
Godspeed Rush. And thank you for sharing your talents with us.
I always wondered how that “ditto” stuff began. Thanks for the history and many Thanks to Mr. Limbaugh for holding the line for so long. There was a lot more than “love of money” behind Rush Limbaugh’s inspiration. Imagine getting up in the morning and doing what he did–for years on end. Rush Limbaugh: son of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Godspeed, sir.
That’s how I started also. The woman was a big lib and kinda nasty. I would then listen to a Connecticut station for his national show. I went to his Rush On Broadway Show too. I think it was around 2002. Sean was there and Mark Levin was seated about 20 ft away. I am very teary today. I learned alot from him. Mostly I learned about how to speak more clearly and use better words. He taught me how to speak publicly, which came in handy many times. Love you Rush.
I’m just one of the many millions who learned to think with Rush. What a teacher! With his wisdom I taught myself that the foolishness I’d been taught in college was just plain wrong. And I returned to my Republican roots. For the rest of my college teaching days (decades) I made teaching clear thinking a part of all the writing classes I taught at many universites and colleges. I’m sure I was not alone in that.
Prayers for Kathryn and to his wonderful staff and close friends and family.
We millions were privileged and blessed to know him. In 1988, commuting between part-time jobs, I listened on (W}TALK in Altoona as the number of stations carrying him rapidly grew. But those hours were so much more than talk.
His job, he always said, was entertainment (and enlightenment). In his most recent Newsletter he wrote that he was born to speak to us and that we were born to listen. And listen we did.
Well done Rush. Well done.
Learned to know that whatever a lib was accusing us of was exactly what they were doing from him.
There are two people that formed my worldview…my Father…and Rush Limbaugh.
I am deeply grateful for Rush and all he taught me about my great America. I am consoled by his profession of faith in Jesus- The Way, the Truth and the Life.
“Precious in the sight of The LORD is the death of His Saints” Psalm 116:15
This month’s issue of the Limbaugh Letter has a marvelous “painting” of Rush, with the simple words, “God is With Me.” Last few issues he used his initial column to talk about his illness and gratitude for readers’/listeners’ support. His brother, David, is a fairly prolific author of religious-theme books. I recall Rush saying that his brother’s faith had re-ignited his that had lain dormant for decades.
I have nearly all the back issues of TLL from 1992 on. Someday when I have nothing else competing for my time, I plan to review them. What’s interesting is to go back through for the “interview of the month.” Famous politicians, athletes, authors . . . he had them all. Over the years many were re-interviewed. Some of them radically shifted from right to the squishy middle.
Not to be sacreligious, but I am reminded of the Bible verse, “when the fulness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law that we might receive the adoption of sons.” Unlike our Lord, Rush wasn’t perfect but God sent him at just the right time to be our beacon of light in this corrupt world!
I
You need to digitize them before something happens to them!
Young….
Oui. Trop.
Count my blessing to have lived during the Rush era. Like living and hanging out with Thomas Paine
Been with Maja Rushie for over 30 years. Started listening as a college student and he has been a part of my day ever since. Feels like I lost an old friend.
RIP El Rushbo
RIP to a great American. His courage, intellect, honesty, humor, unique ability to explain what’s really going on and his true love and respect for our country will never be replicated.
The MSM and dems will be looting and dancing in the streets.
A true thought leader and genuine American patriot. We’ll miss you, Rush.
I saw the light fade from the sky
On the wind I heard a sigh
As the snowflakes cover my fallen brothers
I will say this last goodbye
Night is now falling
So ends this day
The road is now calling and I must away
Over hill and under tree
Through lands where never light has shone
By silver streams that run down to the Sea
Under cloud, beneath the stars
Over snow and winter’s morn
I turn at last to paths that lead home
And though where the road then takes me
I cannot tell
We came all this way
But now comes the day
To bid you farewell
Many places I have been
Many sorrows I have seen
But I don’t regret
Nor will I forget
All who took that road with me
Night is now falling
So ends this day
The road is now calling
And I must away
Over hill and under tree
Through…
God Bless to Katheryn and Rush’s extended family.
RIP brother you were the voice of sanity against the liberal bastion that has sickened the soul of the USA.
I sent a note to Rush last year telling him he had helped me keep my sanity when I moved from the south to Seattle. I needed a sane voice every single day, and as Seattle plunges headlong into insanity (SB5141, which, should outrage even the most liberal of liberals) we needed Rush even more. I have real concern for all the voices that we are losing. And none seem to be rising up..
Sundance, your title on this Rush lose is so good.
You will be missed Rush! ❤️
I wish I had start listening sooner, I only started in the last 3 years. What a terrible loss, I knew it was imminent because he had been off the air waay too long. President Trump spoke on Fox News about Rush’s passing, I missed it turned it on too late. Does anyone have the full audio of the opening of the show today, I missed that too because of work. Godspeed Rush.
I’m sure you can catch that at rushlimbaugh.com even as a non-subscriber.
Sad, sad day.
Godspeed Rush.
On Ash Wednesday. God bless him!
Devastating is right. I loved him so much.
Rush said things outside of the MSM box that made people really think about state and world affairs. I will miss his wit, and his ability to invoke humor in times of craziness.
As a pioneer, he will never be replaced, but there are others that are worth listening to. Conservative talk radio will never be silenced, and Rushs legacy will live forever.
Thank you, and God bless, Mr. Limbaugh!
Today the Character of every Democrat will shine through.

I forgot how long ago it was,I heard him being interviewed on the radio
And what he said made me go out and buy his first book.
In the past few weeks I was lucky enough to have the Time to hear his show.
RIP you were such a great voice that will be badly missed
Rush lives on in Donald Trump.
The thing he said, that President Trump has echoed, is that the press and the left didn’t understand the kind of relationship we had with him. He was in our heads and in our hearts. He saved our sanity, by explaining, and reframing about how the government worked, contra ways to our best interests.
Rush was a force of nature. We need to pick up the gauntlet and carry on.
I am on the radio every Wed. on the Kate Dalley Radio Show which is syndicated nationally and also live-streamed. 4pm MT.
It is repeated on the podcast also found on her site. It is as hard hitting as I can make it – (China and the Uniparty make that really easy.)
We live in magnificent times, and Rush was part of that.
Godspeed.
I’m at the doctor’s office. Just opened CTH. Read this terrible news.
I didn’t like Rush when he defended the Bushes. I would occasionally listen to his show. My parents defended the Bushes then woke up after 9/11.
When Rush supported President Trump I tried to listen to every show.
Rush certainly deserved his medals. Unlike the lowlifes who get them for just being “famous” and a good Comrade. Obamination handed the awards out like candy.
We lost another good one.
RIP ??
I got the sense that Rush was always lukewarm toward the Bushes. I think what we heard was because Rush understood that intellectual lightweights were probably preferable to Dukakis, Gore, and Kerry.
Our dear Rush… you fought the good fight!
Eternal rest, grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen ??❤?❤
“You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord,
Who abide in His shadow for life,
Say to the Lord: “my refuge, my rock in whom I trust,”
And He will raise him up on eagles wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
And make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His hand…. ”
