Devastating. There are no words to adequately reflect the sadness in this day. Our beloved Rush Limbaugh has passed away after a battle with lung cancer.
Wings of angels dear friend,…. on wings of angels. Let us mourn deeply!

Rush Limbaugh, the monumentally influential media icon who transformed talk radio and politics in his decades behind the microphone, helping shape the modern-day Republican Party, died Wednesday at the age of 70 after a battle with lung cancer, his family announced.
Limbaugh’s wife, Kathryn, made the announcement on his radio show.
The radio icon learned he had Stage IV lung cancer in January 2020 and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Trump at the State of the Union address days later. First lady Melania Trump then presented America’s highest civilian honor to Limbaugh in an emotional moment on the heels of his devastating cancer diagnosis. (more from Fox News)

He always said “Don’t Doubt Me” & I didn’t — RIP Rush Limbaugh
Rush taught me about the scam that is baseline budgeting.
I’m so glad he found and married Katherine. What a blessing for them both.
Also, Andrew Breitbart talked about how he’d listen to Rush, and it woke him up. Incredible.
To modify Rush’s tag line: Talent returned to God.
-MARK STEYN
I’m in tears today…
Perfect tribute. Excellent!
MAGA 2
Rest in peace.
Mark Steyn has a wonderful tribute to our beloved Rush. May perpetual light shine upon him.

Thank you for posting!
I truly hope that Mark takes over the EIB microphone. I think he is the only person that could have the mix of seriousness and humor El Rushbo had.
Don’t think that would be possible, since Rush’s show is syndicated, and it was he who had the contract with radio stations. I like Mark too, btw.
You know, one of the most underappreciated aspects of Rush was the fun that he had on the show, with the parodies and updates. Countless moments of laughter and fun. He was simply the GOAT.
TY
Steyn does a great job honoring Rush.
One of the top 5 contributors to the good of this country as a private citizen, ever. The most deserving of a Presidential medal in my lifetime. Should be in history books for his influence on modern politics. Will he be?
Thank you for everything Rush.
God won’t forget, because He saw it all. The evil naysayers and Rush haters will not get the last word about our times.
I am truly sickened by two of my co-workers who are outwardly laughing at the death of Rush. These people have no shame! All they know is hate!
Treat them as non people from now on. You do not need them any longer.
JPDG,
Non-People.
I used sub human, but was wrong. Yours description is much better.
I am using that.
Yes all they know is hate and destruction.
God Knows
You can bet many politicians are jubilant on this day along with many sick un-Americans
At times like these the true, depraved nature of some people is revealed.
There’s something deeply wrong with people who would laugh at Rush’s death.
They are not salvageable.
I believe they are called irredeemable.
It says everything about who THEY are. I expect this from leftists. Their attitudes are what’s wrong in America today.
Pray for them. Some great Psalms to pray over them. Imprecatory too.
The world was a better place because of this dear man. Most days I tried to listen to at least part of his show to get his perspective, and also to lift my spirits on days when the news was especially depressing. He leaves a legacy like few others of our generation.
Dittos
Truly like losing a wise, beloved Uncle. Listened faithfully since 1989. I Have shed some tears and am so sad for all our loss. I loved Jack Posobic’s tweet: ‘Right now Rush is on his way to return that loan’… God bless And keep you, Rush Limbaugh??
No preparing for this ~
Will miss Rush’s voice, his natural ability to access and make sense of the ‘stuff’ of the day and his overall wisdom. A ‘true’ American Patriot.
As a Believer in Christ, and Rush was, what a joy to meet him in person as we’ll be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, where He’s prepared a Heavenly place ~ “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Rev. 21:4
Much prayer to Kathryn and family, dear friends and all of us who will also miss Rush ‘very’ much.
A conservative Giant is gone.
R.I.P. Rush
You and your “voice” will be missed……
I dialed over Rush’s program for many years until one day I couldn’t find anything else to listen to, so began paying attention to Rush’s program. To my surprise, I agreed with him on so many, many issues. Fast forward 20-plus years and I still consider him one of the greatest spokespersons for America’s value ever. My heart is sad for his wife and family and many fans. May God comfort them in their sorrow and loss. Rush told us, “God is with me” and now he is with God. May he hear from his Creator these words: His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter the joy of your master.’ Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23
I am glad Trump was able to honor him at the SOTU address. That had to be one of the greatest moments of his life and we were able to share that moment.
As well as a great moment in American history!
RIP Rush!
I wonder if the powers to be will honor this great American.
Under normal conditions to lie in state at the Capital Rotunda.. but now with the fence and Limited access perhaps the Lincoln Memorial..
With what’s going on in D.C., I say Trump arrange for a meaningful ceremony in a private venue where Rush can be respected and honored as he should be. I personally wouldn’t want any Dem anywhere near a memorial for this great man.
Considering how filthy and evil DC is, and who is currently in charge there, I wouldn’t wish that on poor Rush.
Considering Florida has been Rush’s home for many years, I’d say Mar-a-Lago would be a vastly more appropriate venue for him.
Rush has now joined my wife, who was a great Rush fan. She was a real audio-visual person, but she bought and read every book that Rush wrote in his life time. Thank you Rush for giving to the Lord. I am so glad you gave!!
Rush enlightened many, many of us! There’ll never be anyone exactly like him! Your journey here is done, you’re with the Lord now! RIP
Sympathy to his wife & family!
Listening to Steyn YESTERDAY on the Rush Limbaugh Show, it was clear from his voice that the end was imminent.
God bless, Rush. You were a great conservative talent — and you surrounded yourself with fantastic people — Steyn being one of them.
You could hear it in his voice that was a tough three hours for him.
Greatest Patriot of them all.
A sad day. He was the person who’s radio show got me searching beyond legacy media for information. For many of us, he didn’t change our minds. He merely articulated (brilliantly) our beliefs. And, made us think.
I’m so terribly sad.
Kyle, I am sad too, but he has been on borrowed time, and he stayed with us up until the end. We must be grateful for all he did to stay on the air and now that he is no longer suffering.
I remember exactly where I was when I first heard his voice.
I think I’ll remember exactly where I was when I was told he had passed away.
My wife and I had just moved to Orlando in the fall of 1988. One of the men I met there, after he had heard my take on news stories told me about a guy he had heard on the radio that I would probably want to listen to.
I tuned in out of curiosity. The guy was Rush. The man that told me about Rush was right. Been listening to Rush since then.
No one is as articulate and entertaining and able to hold an audience like Rush. He has NO peer!
R.I.P., our friend.
President Trump Reacts to the Death of Rush Limbaugh
https://mobile.twitter.com/bennyjohnson/status/1362103967992475648
God Bless you Rush. You fought hard and knew God’s calling for you.
And for those of you in RioLindo, Rush is gone. 🙁
Dr. Steve Turley gives a wonderful tribute to Rush and it’s very personal. He goes back to ~1993 where he first starting watching Rush on a small b & w tv. Rush brought him into conservatism, into faith and had an enormous impact on every aspect of his life, including what he currently does.
It’s worth listening to as many of us can relate.
Thank you, Rush.
I dont know who wrote this:
“We may write our names in Albums, We may trace them in the sand, We may chisel them in marble,
With a firm and skillful hand. But the pages are soon sullied, Soon each name will fade away, Every monument will crumble,
Like all earthly hopes decay. But dear friend there is an album, Full of leaves of snowy white,
Where no name is ever tarnished, But forever, pure and bright. It’s in The Book of Life, God’s album,
May your name be penned with care, And may all who here have written, Write their names forever there.”
That was wonderful Susan.
They should have President Trump “fill in” for Rush, a few days each week.
My Classics/Latin/Ancient Greek professor, about half a generation older than Mr. Limbaugh, listened to him religiously.
This near obsession was mentioned at my professor’s funeral 5 years ago. A Classics professor finding great value in the words of a man who “never went to a university”…
…there you have it!
There were none like him that’s for sure. Very few real patriots left so it hurts a lot when we lose one.
Rest in Peace Rush.
I have been a regular Rush listener since the very early days – I remember laughing when he would pour a drink from his Gurgling Cod – I found solace in his perspective when times were dark. I have never met him, nor have I called into his show. Even so, I consider him a dear friend, and a brother. Blessings, Rush, and Godspeed.
There will much rejoicing among progs today. With that in mind, my Notes on Libs contains the following:
You want people to die, or you’re happy that they did, simply because they have different political beliefs.
This is who the enemy is and—make no mistake—they are the enemy.
RIP Rush Limbaugh.
?
I can think of no better person to talk to Him about the state of the USA.
Godspeed Rush.
Godspeed.
We miss you, Rush. But we are thankful there is no pain anymore. You will be welcomed into the arms of our precious Lord. Thank you for all your wisdom and insight over the years. We will continue to pray for your family and loved ones as they grieve your loss.
Today I’m heartbroken, my eyes are full. Even when I’d miss a show, I knew things were ok, as Rush was on, doing what he does best, explaining things as they really are.
Now he sees the face of Jesus and is talking with Him. Bless you Rush.
Unlike some conservative voices, it was never about the money for Rush. It was always about conservatism and the love he had for his listeners. Because of that we loved him back.
President George W Bush put out a statement on Rush.. they apparantly were friends
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/george-w-bush-remembers-limbaugh-as-indomitable-spirit-with-a-big-heart
The most telling statement in that article was the one that said his death had brought out an outpouring of statements from Republicans. I guess that alone solidifies that there exists no compassion in the Democrat party lest it line their pockets or increase their power. Jealousy does an awful lot to sour people and the Democrats are presently about as sour a group as is possible!
Here is a short very nice write up on Rush on zero hedge..
https://www.zerohedge.com/political/conservative-radio-legend-rush-limbaugh-dead-70
Rush, you will be missed. Your voice provided comfort, reassurance, and guidance throughout the years. I am sad to see you go. 11 – 2 just won’t be the same.
May God bless your family and comfort them. Thank you for never giving up the fight. Rest in Peace my brother.
Sundance, many thanks for recognizing this sad moment and providing an opportunity to share our thoughts.
Too many comments to read all: but I’m hurting. As soon as the non familiar opening started with Catherine, I was a goner.
Basically my closet friend has moved on. God’s speed.
He will be missed.
A giant of a man and an American patriot. Rush will be remembered always and missed every day.
RIP Rush ❤️✝️ ??
To quote Horatio, as he bids farewell to Hamlet: “Goodnight, sweet prince; and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”
Today we lost a warrior like few others… a true profile in courage.
You inspired us to confront an ideology that threatens to engulf us and our nation, and to fight the good fight. And so many of us now stand on your shoulders… we will forever be grateful.
What an amazing legacy… you will truly be missed.
Rest in peace, Rush.
It is a horrible feeling as if a wise uncle you always loved to listen to has just passed. So many thanks to Rush for all those years of wisdom and never being afraid to mention God. Please be at peace in Heaven with The Lord. I miss Rush already.
thank you, Sundance . . .
Rush Limbaugh
i’m in tears about Rush,
so sorry,
