Devastating. There are no words to adequately reflect the sadness in this day. Our beloved Rush Limbaugh has passed away after a battle with lung cancer.
Wings of angels dear friend,…. on wings of angels. Let us mourn deeply!

Rush Limbaugh, the monumentally influential media icon who transformed talk radio and politics in his decades behind the microphone, helping shape the modern-day Republican Party, died Wednesday at the age of 70 after a battle with lung cancer, his family announced.
Limbaugh’s wife, Kathryn, made the announcement on his radio show.
The radio icon learned he had Stage IV lung cancer in January 2020 and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Trump at the State of the Union address days later. First lady Melania Trump then presented America’s highest civilian honor to Limbaugh in an emotional moment on the heels of his devastating cancer diagnosis. (more from Fox News)

I remember the first time I heard him. I had just gotten a new company truck that finally had a radio. I rolled out of the Firestone plant headed to lunch and there he was. And I’ve listened for 30 years. Gonna miss you buddy.
People lately have been telling Rush, (just last week) when he was on the air that he was sounding much better. I had a feeling though, that he was in “the short rows”, as we say in the South. My older sister died of a rare lung ailment several years back, and because the lungs are a “closed system”, once you are out of air, you are out of air.
My late Daddy told all us kids in the 70’s to please listen to this guy on the radio, named Rush Limbaugh. I have listened to Rush since then. I have only tried to call his show 3-4 times, and never could get past the busy signal! Oh well.
I send deep prayers to Rush’s family, to all his (us) listeners–and to all the guest hosts that have steadfastly filled in for him. My heart is on the ground.
May God hold this awesome man in the hollow of his hand. Hugs to all.
I meant the 90’s!!!
You will be sadly missed, Rush. Rest in Peace.
God blessed Rush with a unique ability. He was a shining light, a teacher, a voice for us all. He stood against evil and rallied millions to his side. He was the best friend we never met and made us proud of our cause. He will be missed and long remembered. Long live Rush.
God Bless him.
The Ditto Nation is truly broken hearted. I have no words.
God Bless you, Rush.
And my Ditto Heart is truly broken Maximus.
God bless Rush and prayers for his family.
Godspeed Rush. Now your “talent on loan from God” has been returned to Him in full. Rest in Peace brother!
On a related note: would love to see Trump buy up the Rush empire and launch the “MAGA Infinitum Network”. He could hand pick all of his own radio personalities to host in a rotation. DO IT!
Returned with interest. Rush did not bury the talents the Master loaned him.
God Bless you Rush.
The world is a greater place because of Patriots like him fighting the good fight and now may his legacy inspire others.
Rest in Peace, brother. We will meet some day.
I really liked how RUSH tried to enlighten the next generation with his Rush Revere books. He REALLY enjoyed taking calls from and talking to the young kids/young adults about American history. It gave me insight into the man of who he was.
I loved that too. It meant so much that the next generation know the truth and be patriots. It was fun to listen to his conversations with those kids who’d read his Revere books or sometimes he would give them as gifts. He had a very big heart. Blessed to be a blessing.
Found in the bin… 🙁
I feel like I lost a best friend. He was with me almost every day for a few hours for almost 30 yrs. he reminded me of my dad who I had lost at a young age. He is a part of all of us and will be forever. I am just not sure if I can ever find someone who will make me feel like I am talking with both my dad and Rush.
we were blessed to have him and I choose to remember him and the laughter he provided while navigating such a serious topic.
God Bless Rush and his family,
Phil,
30 years plus of listening every day (even while in the UK for 3 years) and a STRONG connection with my late blessed Dad who loved Rush. I am devastated. After losing my beloved Brother, 2 cousins and PDJT having the election stolen from him/us in 2020, I had hoped that 2021 would be better.
At the age of 71 I can’t help but feel right now: “Even so, Come Lord Jesus”!
Phil and NC Mom, sending compassion and understanding your way. ♥️
Wow, that is tough. I went to a Rush to Excellence road show event in Greenville, SC in probably 1990ish. I was always a nerd and listened to AM radio, I heard him the first time he came on WSB in Atlanta.
Actually I think first on WGST 640 in Atlanta. Only one wsb in 2012 it seems.
Correct. Rush was preceded from 9-12 by Sean Hannity and followed by Kim “the Kimmer” Peterson.
And the Lord said, “well done, my good and faithful servant.”
Many a long drive across Texas was spent with Rush sharing his “talent on loan from God” with his “brain tied behind his back.” God be with his family.??❤️??
On loan from GOD. God Bless and keep our dear Rush A huge loss for all of America today- a great disturbance in the force. How apropos that the Lord would take him on the first day of Lent.
Well said and Amen.
Rush stood up strong and consistent for patriotism and conservatism for years. He stood up to the cries of racism because you can’t scrutinize Obamanism because he needs to be treated in an infantile manner because he’s half black. These accusations were usually by people that never listened to one of his shows.
There will never NEVER be another like him!!! I love you Rush!!
May God welcome you with glowing arms of joy and love.
God bless his soul. His legacy will live on for ages.
GODSPEED RUSH ! GOD BLESS YOU! THANK YOU FOR EVERY SINGLE WORD YOU SPOKE TO US FOR DECADES. GOD BLESS KATHRYN AND GIVE HER AND YOUR LOVED ONES ALL THE STRENGTH AND LOVE THEY NEED RIGHT NOW.
Sadly , Just yesterday was thinking that any day now, his wife would let us know that he had passed.
I also had that same thought a day or too ago..that God was calling him home.
The GREATEST CONSERVATIVE! RIP!
RIP Rush, thank you for your service. Talent no longer on loan from God
Even though I knew the day would come, I really hoped it somehow wouldn’t. Feel like I lost a best friend I never actually met. God bless Rush and know he’s with the good Lord now. Thanks for 30 years of wisdom!
G-d speed sir.
On the Mount Rushmore of famous Missourians, you would definitely occupy one of the four spots.
I have no words today. God Bless Rush and his family.
We love you forever, dearest Rush. You have helped me through 30 years of life! Never to be forgotten.
“And I heard a voice from heaven saying, ‘write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. Blessed, indeed, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them.'” Revelation 14:13
Amen.
I’ve listened to him such 1991. Sad beyond words…though I know what God said to him..
”Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
Praying for Kathryn, David and his EIB team. ???
We have this comfort, we know Rush is with Christ. “We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” 2 COR 5:8. I pray In Jesus name that He fills the Limbaugh family with people to support them through their grieving and are sheltered from those who will assault this man’s legacy!
I guess appropriate on “Lent”. He was lent to us for a little while.
Rush Limbaugh rescued me from liberalism some 30 yrs ago.
Thank you and God bless your immortal soul.
Ditto on being rescued from liberalism! I made the mistake of voting for Du-cock-eye but thankfully saw the light!
I was not rescued from liberalism like you. In fact I sometimes used to say I was so far right i tended to sneak up on Rush’s left side. But I loved to listen to him especially on the long trips. Hated to loose a signal but almost always had him on another station inside 5 minutes.
What an incredible man. When I missed his show I was out of sorts all day. Nobody nails it like Rush.
We need to study him, his views and philosophy.
The left will celebrate our loss till they realize he is now multiplied by 80 million!
I remember the first time that I heard his broadcast.
It was 1992, and I’d just moved from San Diego to Western Washington. I was out driving around looking for permanent homes (as compared to the apartment that I’d rented), and happened to fiddle-around on the radio looking for something to listen to.
Rest in Peace, El Rushbo. Truly, there’s a golden microphone ready for you there in Heaven.
F?&$ the WSJ, headline: “right-wing talk-radio firebrand who rode a wave of national polarization…”
It’s just sad how the colonial elitist must paint “polarization” on those who simply want everyone to succeed, I mean everyone regardless of whatever label the “tolerant” try to put on them, just sad.
Oops, global (hmmm odd auto-correct to colonial)
I just looked at WSJ and it appears they changed the headline to something far more appropriate.
“Rush Limbaugh, Right-Wing Radio Host, Is Dead at 70” Media personality shaped conservative political discourse for decades
That’s like saying that complete paralysis is better than death! They are working hard to become totally irrelevant.
stay away from huff post it is bad
I would say that they should be ashamed but they have no soul at all. What a petty, sniveling group of pansies they are. I guess the people who read their trash are perfectly content to live in a world of sin and sorrow. May God have mercy on their bodies, He can’t have mercy on their souls!
WSJ? Is that We Sling Junk?
I’ve listened for 27 years. In the midst of many dark times in America your voice and encouragement have carried me through. I know God, who is greater than all, knows all and is all powerful is in charge. That is why I carry on, that is my hope. I don’t know who He is going to replace you with Rush but He will and I hope soon, we’re still need what you have brought to America , now more than ever.
While we all knew this was coming, it doesn’t stop the tears. Rest in eternal peace, friend.
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. Here’s a Shakespeare eulogy for those so inclined at this time: https://abardseyeview.com/fear-no-more-the-heat-of-the-sun-a-eulogy-for-rush-limbaugh-rest-in-peace/
Selfishly, I’m saddened. We never want giants like Rush to leave. I remember the person who introduced me to his radio show. But, with a grateful heart, I’m thankful for his vast contributions and his love for our country. I celebrate his life, and his eternal reward in Paradise. Prayers for His Peace, Power and Presence upon his wife and family.
Rest in peace in the arms of Jesus, Rush Limbaugh. God bless and comfort his family. His absence will be felt deeply. He was to conservatism as Billy Graham was to Christianity. We will miss his voice so much. Andrew Breitbart converted after listening to him and he became a warrior. My parents listened to him every day in the car for many years, perhaps they and Andrew are greeting him in heaven today among many others. Thank you for all you did, Rush Limbaugh.
I am thinking my Mom and Dad are on the receiving line to Welcome Rush Home. I lost my Mom in 2020, as she was in a Nursing home. It was my Mom and Dad who listened to Rush each day and finally coaxed me into listening to him in the early 90’s. It was through Rush that I was saved from liberalism, too. And became a Believer not only in Rush but in God. Thank you Rush for giving Conservatism a much needed shot in the arm, for opening minds, and being fearless voice in a scary world.
Love you Rush! We will miss you but always remember your intelligent, beautiful and funny ways. We learned much from you. Glad you found your beautiful Katherine ❤️ You will always be that brother we needed through all the challenging moments. You lived honestly and well. And you had Faith in the one true God.. who must have said, “Well done my good and faithful son!” God Bless Rush!
The measure of a man is how he deals with adversity. Death, is the final adversity we all will contend with. I pray that I have the strength and serenity similar to what I have seen from Rush. RIP
WisconsinBear, without a doubt the bravery and fortitude with which he dealt with his final adversity was his greatest accomplishment. Godspeed
RIP Rush. Fair Winds and Following Seas.
Ditto…
A GREAT, great man. Thank you, and RIP
With the Holy Name of Jesus in his heart, may he enter to eternal glory ?
No one can take his place, but we must rise up and continue the fight he so believed in.
We must all be Rush now.
Rest in peace, Mr. Limbaugh. We’ll keep spreading the message until, as you often said, everyone agrees with you.
May his soul find eternal rest.
He will be greatly missed. He always came in and broke things down after the media spin.
Condolences to Kathryn, Mr Snerdley and others.
He was and will always be The KING of Conservative Talk Radio. He was a Local Treasure in the Sacramento area in 1984 for 3 years before he went National. He will be Missed.
There aren’t enough words to describe the impact of El Rushbo on millions of Patriots.
Heard her on the radio today and my heart is breaking.
Thanks Rush.
Thanks for educating so many of us.
As much as I will miss hearing you on the radio, I’m comforted knowing you are in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior and suffering no more.
Sending peaceful prayers to the Limbaugh family. We loved him too………
I am just heartbroken.
May this great man Rest In Peace. ???
Most are good; some are great; then there was Rush. One of a kind.
