I was in Big Bend National Park over the Christmas to New Year time frame. I was shocked at the number of hikers that would mask up and step off to the side of the trail when I went by.
I found it oddly dehumanizing. I wasn’t a fellow hiker, just a potential contagion heading their way.
I saw the same last summer hiking at 10,000’+ in Colorado. Masked zombies pulling off the trail as my maskless self approached, covering their faces. Above 10,000. Bright sunshine, windy, not another person within 1/4 mile.

I must say that elected Republicans can’t bitch about any of this. They allowed Trump’s first two years to be stymied by Democrat obstruction / insurrection, and did nothing to support him at a LEGISLATIVE level. Much of the MAGA agenda had to be achieved through executive orders. And the problem with these is they’re just as easily swept aside by the new guy. Only Biden’s executive orders won’t be blocked at every turn by rogue judges.
