my Mom and I have been watching these episodes/tv movies on Hallmark “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” – first we watched the pilot and then all of the episodes in Season 1, which seems to be the only season – but then they had these tv movies with the same bunch and they are so sweet and just about our speed at this moment. We can hardly believe that they don’t have awful, awful things happen as we have seen on so many shows which are actually so brutal – and who needs that?
So the one tonight involved the main guy and his father going for a hike in the mountains – there was a point near the end where the music was a rendition of “Hallelujah” and it was SO beautiful – I just want to find that an play it every day – at least when I read all of these prayers.

“Signed Sealed, Delivered” – my sister told us about it, that it was on the “Hallmark” channel – we went to the “Hallmark” channel on Prime Video –
they are more like what we used to think “Hallmark” was supposed to be – this show has their quirky characters, sitcom queens from the 1970’s that make guest appearances and most of all, good endings, generally – eventually – “having faith”
the main character, Oliver, is kind of a throwback – he goes to church, sings in the choir, disdains e-mail, prefers letter-writing – drives a Jaguar (at first an XJS convertible, later a sedan – either an XJ6 or Vanden Plas, not sure)
Sometimes it’s a little bit silly but generally, not worrisome or gruesome as most shows have become.
And praying actually figures into the stories as well as Oliver’s theory of Divine Delivery or something like that – that dear God actually uses them to help people when they solve mysteries of letters that could not be delivered otherwise.

I understand Dutchman’s disdain of relying on hope alone without any evidence of fact- but many people would also say that people who believe in God, have faith in God and all are believing in fairy tales.
The difference is this: God gives each of us evidence of His existence, many times that evidence has been personalized as something unique to us that other people wouldn’t agree is hard evidence. However, we know in our heart of hearts it is. If we ignore it, then we’re to blame, we made a decision against God because we refused to see. Some might call the belief in God “hopium” too. It’s our own personal choice, though.
President Trump is just a man, but he may very well be a man of God, and as such, use God’s strength and resolve to see this through. Let’s be clear on something- I don’t care what you want to call it, I am okay with God’s plan- whatever God’s plan is.
If it is God’s plan for President Trump to throw us all under the bus, so be it. I don’t think that’s what God’s plan is, but I am going to accept God’s plan and ask God how to play the role He would like me to play most effectively.
I love everyone here, whether friend or foe, for that is what God wants me to do. I pray for everyone, especially me, that God’s will be done. My feelings don’t really enter into this. And while I can empathize with those afraid and fearful, I cannot center my thoughts there. I know this, in the end, God wins. That’s the part that’s important.

“Why” is very simple : Without hope, you accept death.
Perhaps you are correct. Alternatively, perhaps without hope (or “hopium”) you are forced to face an unpleasant reality. Perhaps doing so would cause more people to a take some concrete action to try and positively impact the situation they find themselves in, and in therefore begin to change things for the better.
I too wish for a last-minute magical solution by President Trump. But I also recognize that continuing down this path delays recognizing the unpleasant reality we are facing and the need to do something to deal with it. That is why Dutchman posts as he does.

I am happy to report that until the end of the week I am going to live on hopium. My basis for having this hope is that President Donald J Trump PROMISED me that we would never have a socialist nation. PDJT loves this nation and its citizens. He worked his fingers to the bone to bring jobs back into this country. He renegotiated trade deals beneficial to We the People. He BUILT THE WALL. He has delivered on his promises to fix the broken medical/insurance/pharmacy system. He fixed the VA system.

For instance, that there are 30,000 sealed indictments, without acknowledging there are all sorts of different reasons for sealed indictments, such as avoiding running up against the Statute of Limitations, so its like a procedural bookmark.
Then,they include a quote or two from PDJT, also taken out of context, to imply some special meaning.
Seems like they almost include some special military intelligence outfit.
Often, that PDJT is allowing things to play out, for some vadt sting operation, ignoring he never had anyone to PROSECUTE such indictments, as the sting was supposed to produce.
Put another way, the problem hasn’t been getting the evidence, so much as not having anyone willing to prosecute, based on the evidence.

My question for the others….considering we’re headed into some dark days ahead, I’m wondering how to best take care of myself and my family. Are there any resources you guys can point me to with regards to prepping? My primary issue is actually that my family members don’t really agree with me regarding how bad things are about to get. I didn’t live through the Soviet Union (I’m one of those damn millennials) but I did study history so I’m trying to think ahead and envision what’s going to come next. FWIW I’ve been doing the usual with trying to store food and water but I don’t have a firearm (I’m not really allowed to keep one in the house at the moment though I’m trying to convince my family that it would be a good idea…the riots over last year sure made a big impact with that.) I do not want to take up too much space here so I just want to know what the Treepers would suggest.

For me, I’m looking for ways to anonymize, encrypt, etc., my communications. I’m just not sure if anything will really work. Companies claim they don’t use or sell your data, or read your emails, etc., but why should I trust their word? Looking for companies that have had their privacy practices audited by a 3rd party. Best I can do.
Regarding other prep:
banking – I have 2 banks, one national, one local credit union. I know the national bank would probably cut me dead in a heartbeat if they didn’t like how I think. The local CU is a little safer. They need the deposits.
credit – tough, for the same reasons above. Corporate wokism is a threat to every conservative.
cash – have a small stash at home, just in case
food – have enough for at least a few weeks, just like at the beginning of the pandemic last year. don’t forget water, pet food, batteries, candles, etc
routes – I am considering my routes to work, safest travel options. I have to drive through some areas where protesters congregate. But in my case, it’s a posh town, lots of money, so the protesters are the useful idiot liberals. Probably not a threat, but I’ll drive around the area for awhile, just in case. I’d rather not have them throw rocks at my car.
Encryption and anonymity are the toughest parts of being on the internet right now. What heartens me is that current events shook enough people out of their stupor that suddenly privacy is being looked at again. Decentralized blockchain websites, peer to peer servers are getting another look, PGP encryption is coming back up as a topic (I’m hoping that this will become more available to normies but we will see.) Tim Berners-Lee, the who guy who made the World Wide Web, is making more noises about making a new internet that isn’t influenced by Big Tech. He’s been trying to make a new internet for years and so far his previous attempts have been stillborn but hopefully this is the kick people need to finally pay attention.
Banking – You got it. Glad I’ve stayed with my CU all these years. If worst comes to worst maybe I can find like-minded individuals in my area and we can make our own, set our own rules. That sort of thing.
Credit – This is the kind of thing makes me wonder about gold and silver. Getting gold and silver is a bit of a meme and as I saw during Katrina, what actually matters during disaster are the physical things you can barter with. No one cares about precious metals when your house is flooded. However our financial system could very well tank so this is the kind of thing that keeps me up at night if I let it. Will definitely keep a small store of cash in my home.
Food – Good point. Also a good time to stock up on other essentials like bathroom tissue.
Routes – I didn’t even think of this! Even if there are not protestors in town it’s still good to know other ways to get out that don’t rely on the high way. I’ll take to driving my car around with a paper map (haha I still have them even if my siblings don’t!) and marking things down.

When I watched the video from the founder of Gab, he said explicitly that no comments advocating violence would be permitted on Gab. I was glad to see it.

TDW is every bit as violent as the conservative treehouse. Meaning – bowlsh*t. I’m on both sites daily multiple times and what they say about staging and all that for 1/6 ignores the evidence – they continue to arrest guys like john Sullivan , the blow horn guy, et al – also Nancy’s laptop. We are living in a gigantic lie – we will never survive if this lie is not exposed and shut down hard.

I think President Trump is here to stay. He has a very important role in helping to save this country from the terrorists who stole the election.
Yes he will be the rock where we hold the line and start our charge. Crucial to this endeavor will be
1) changing voting laws in swing states, so our votes are not counted in secret in the middle of the night
2) getting rid of the turncoat (mugwump) republicans, particularly in the senate
3) retaking the house in two years
3) keeping a majority of states red which should keep the democrats from bring in new blue states such as DC and Puerto Rico which would give them a permanent democratic majority in the senate
I watch PBS the other day..
It was the usual biased reporting.. so they were gleefull about President Trump being out of office..
So the question was… what will happen to the MAGA movement.. will it go away.. the independent commentator said..
President Trump might be gone but someone else will pick up the banner.. there were 75 million voters …this will. Not go away..
