I believe it COULD just go to a vote.
I believe an impeachment is very similar to a trial. The President would be able to present his case ( as in any court proceedings). There is not enough time for the Uni-party to complete the process before The President’s term expires. It’s all theater as usual.

Impeachment is the indictment (the charge) to see if enough grounds exist TO go to trial.
House serves as equivalent of a grand jury.
Actual trial occurs in the senate as does the verdict.

The American public seems to have collective ADHD – they can’t seem to stay focused on anything. It’s the latest shiny object that catches them. It was “cool” to be patriotic in the aftermath of 9-11. Very shortly thereafter it became “cool” to be tolerant of and to admire Islam – “such a beautiful, peaceful religion.” You get the picture.
So of course they expect that we’ll continue to vote for them. I can hardly wait to prove them wrong.
And the Senate will need 100% votes to continue until Jan.19.
Though it would not surprise to many of us, these days, if this did happen.

Frankly, I hope Trump doesn’t care. The movement is more important than his getting another term in 4 years.
1) He’ll be 4 years older.
2) He can have far-reachiing impact on Americans without occupying the HW
3) Without a black and white released “porfolio” of truth about Spygate and other crimes against him and us, he would forever remain persona non grata to all Dem and he would lose some voters that voted for him this time as they’d say, “I don’t want that chaos again.”
4) Remember how it was that Nixon was made into the villain and he stayed that way: Watergate Hearing, movie with Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman.
5) Sure, there might be some right-leaning MAGA people in HW that produced such a movie about the way the PTB undermined and told flat out lies about POTUS, but it wouldn’t and couldn’t get wide-spread avenues for viewing.
The one way you could blast the Dems out of the water for good on their lying and cheating is to get Barack Obama on video/audio speaking about their “plans” for him, and for added measure, demeaning the behavior and/or intelligence of black folks and minorities.
Absent that, the other 50%are not going our way.

Of course, that doesn’t mean it can’t be done if Biden actually takes power, which I’m still not certain of. Not that I think Trump will do anything, but I’ve had a sneaking suspicion for a while now that there won’t be a Trump OR Biden administration come the 20th. But that’s just me. I did see a clip from some fringe character who has been hanging around since the first Trump campaign, where he said the same thing. But I don’t trust the source, so I’d rather just say it’s something I have in my head.

If that was accomplished AND the election suddenly, ‘miraculously’, was found to be fraudulent, then, instead of a Biden administration, we have a Pence administration foisted on us.

I believe the impeachment is to capture our undivided attention….lest we actually decide to do something between now and the 20th. So far so good.

Yep, it could based on RULES Established by the Speaker of the House and Senate Leader. The only deviation from the rules that could occur would be if Chief Justice Roberts allows deviation from those rules in Senate Portion of the Impeachment. This may require an objection from the Senate Floor if not allowed by objection from the President’s representative.
And you are talking about rules that Pelosi, McConnell, and Roberts have all the power to make. How convenient.

Correct! The Constitution speaks about a ‘trial in the Senate’ but it does not lay out a format, and as such, would not preclude summary judgment, i.e. immediate vote without evidence presented.
Recall that McConnell, first time around, did not allow House managers to present witnesses. Normal trials would normally require that. Also, impeachment is not subject to judicial review. Supreme Court has no jurisdiction.
I believe I’ve been the only voice for striking the Twenty-Second Amendment. In spite of George Washington’s opinion on the subject, but who never had the opportunity to see how the Constitution would actually play out in reality However, an un-term limited president would be a force to reckon with if silly gestures like this second impeachment (or the first) were launched against a president who could be there for many years.
If Washington earnestly believed that only two terms were advisable, I doubt he would have been in favor of XXII Amendment, given the fully arbitrary powers of impeachment, say, whenever Nancy’s favorite ice cream is out of stock. The careful original balance of the Constitution is entirely disrupted by this amendment.

The word “trial” in American layman’s AND legal parlance, means there must be a defense available.

Nope. Impeachment is a “legislative” process and subject to operational rules passed by the leadership of Legislative Body per the Constitutional Authority allocated to Congress. It is not a court room. The only hope of any defense or legal evidence being presented rests in the willingness of Chief Justice Roberts to obey or deviate from those rules.
Precedent and customs only apply to the extend allowed by the rules established in the House and Senate. The only way those could be applied is if Chief Justice Roberts agrees to allow their application in the Senate portion of Impeachment.
As much as I despise where our elected leaders have taken us I am very pleased that the ‘mask’ has now been removed. Impeachment used as a political weapon is the face beneath the ‘mask’. The ‘unwashed’ voters can now see what we are up against. Complacency has died in America and if uncensored commentary is ever brought back we will be the better for it.
It is not an impeachment, it is a taxpayer funded smear campaign.

All of this is a show of force to scare us out of organizing and taking our country back from this uniparty. I believe a convension of states should be called. Heck Texas is looking to leave the unholy union and it may catch on.What scares me is they have been successful in scaring which makes it is hard to get someone to lead the charge…..But this one of very few ways out of this mess.. If we look to 2022 voting we will be sorely disappointed. How many years have we waited for DC to actually do the people work ….40 years…..We do not exist to them until we are used as an excuse ….a means to another end that does not benefit us at all. Our long term plan should be divesting from Democrats, thus destroying most of their echo-chamber, and building our own parallel economy.
That’s a solid idea, but political and economic freedom are intertwined, and there doesn’t seem to be any recourse in the judiciary. Until there is very real, transparent, and auditable voter reform the federal government is lost. Vote reform is more important than anything else, and the only non-violent path to the potential for political revolution. Kicking the Establishment, Deep State, and BigTech to the curb is revolution. We have to start with every state that had demonstrable vote integrity issues. If we get a majority of the states on board, and the usual suspects NY, CA, IL, etc. won’t go along then we have to seriously consider alternatives. A Constitutional Convention? Succession? I’m not sure, but you can’t keep playing by the rules when the other players won’t.

All the evidence gathered has no doubt been given to the military Judicial Advocate General (JAG). If there is going to be any arrests of wrongdoers it will come from the military. The military is the last resort for stopping a coup.
Voter fraud with foreign Country involvement gives reason for US military involvement. Doesn’t it seem odd we haven’t heard from Sidney Powell? Sidney Powell is a registered military lawyer and can bring cases before the military courts.
Doesn’t work that way. The military prosecutes UCMJ violations – which involve exclusively military personnel.
Plus, the Military has to “Agree” to support tribunals as well as makes ALL Judicial Appointments to any Tribunals that may occur.
Given the Courts and essentially ALL 3 Branches of the Federal Government and ALL 50 States have ratified the results, the “election steal” has been legitimized and President Trump’s orders can be considered illegal and ignored.

I was signing up for the first time to AirB&B for a vacation cabin after tax season. I’d made the reservation and then this thing popped up that I had to agree to… that I would never be judgmental or biased toward people belonging to all the approved lists… sex, color, national origin, “orientation,” etc. etc. These people’s job is making hotel reservations, not demanding I approve of everybody THEY approve of. After what they’ve called ME (Trump supporter, old, white, Catholic) this last year, the hypocrisy is spectacular. I cancelled the reservation. I’m still steaming.

Good for you. That is one organization that needs to be run out of town. I used to use them a lot but stopped when I saw what was happening……in many places they are driving long term rental capacity down and rents sky high.
In a small city near me, people are being forced to live in their cars because they cannot find affordable housing. Because it’s a desirable vacation area, many property owners have turned their former rentals over to Air B&B properties. That’s fine, free market and all that, BUT these now accommodation providers are not required to collect the normal hotel bed tax, or abide by some laws applicable to hotels. So it isn’t an even playing field. Aside from impacting the housing market, it also impacts existing small accommodation properties that must collect the tax (I work in tourism so this is my wheelhouse).
Some districts are starting to address the issue, but it’s a slow process.
I also never cared for Air B&B’s anti-Semitic stance when they dropped properties in the West Bank (I.e. pro-Palestine). They are a terrible company.
But what an opportunity for a Conservative to start a new platform for Conservative owners and travelers…..
I support the idea of Air B&B. People should be allowed to rent out what they own. How does a local desire for taxes override property ownership. Be that as it may, I would like to see competition from neutral or conservative companies.

Our Country was blessed with a man that cared enough to give everything he had to serve and defend it. He and his family did so knowing there would be a great personal cost and the loss of the lifestyle and solitude they were accustomed to. They invested millions of there own wealth, and for one it even cost a marriage.
The odds of becoming our 45th President seemed insurmountable, but for DJT that was where he likes to start from. The idea that we could Make America Great Again was laughed at by some, but many of us yearned for that to be true. Slowly the sound of that approaching train grew louder and each of us clamored to jump on board, excited to learn we were not the only ones with a pent up sense of American pride just waiting for the right time to burst at the seams.
The 2016 election season brought about a campaign with enthusiasm that none of us had seen before and an American Spirit that hasn’t been around in decades. We not only witnessed it, we were a part of it as tens of thousands lined up for a Rally with hundreds of thousands watching from home day after day. Once in office we were always waiting for the next speech or hoping for a chopper presser. Who’d of thought we would ever look forward to watching a White House Press Briefing?
President Trump certainly kept us on our toes not knowing what’s coming next. Tax cuts for our paychecks, tariffs to help our industries, sanctions against countries with bad intentions. Then again the week might bring a new branch of the Military, or perhaps a partnership to launch Americans into space from our own soil. Maybe it’s talking to North Korea to stop nuclear testing and launching missiles, defeating a global terrorist organization, or perhaps the only thing the week brings is expanding Peace in the Middle East or moving our Embassy to Jerusalem . Oh, and let’s not forget building 450 miles of wall without any support from Congress.
Each one of those things would have been a historic singular defining event for any other President, but not for President Trump, he accomplished all of them.
President Trump believes in the law and our Constitution. He challenged the 2020 election through the legal system by filing over 50 lawsuits in 7 different States. Who could have foreseen that elected officials, legislatures and courts in 7 States would ignore a violated Constitution. Federal Judges that wear their politics on their sleeve and a corrupt Chief Justice also turned a blind eye. The deck was stacked against us long before November 3rd.
There are some that are holding out hope that President Trump will pull a rabbit out of the hat in the next week. He has pulled off the impossible before, maybe he’ll do it again. If he does, he’d be lining himself up for at least two years of pure hell as POTUS with vitriol coming from Capitol Hill. Any agenda he has wouldn’t get passed and any veto would be overridden.
Others are starting to come to terms with the idea that this chapter of the MAGA movement is coming to end. Grateful for everything that President Trump has done for us, but dealing with the reality that seems to be setting in.
There also seems to be a third group of people that are blaming President Trump for the current situation, saying that he hasn’t done enough or that he’s breaking promises and quitting. All of the documents that should be released are not sitting in his desk drawer, they are buried deep in the cesspool. With the exception a very small group, every individual in Washington D.C. has been working to slow walk, undermine, or ignore President Trump’s efforts and yet he was still able to accomplish many great things for our Country. But that doesn’t seem to be enough for some people.
Could President Trump have made better choices or decisions? None of us know the options he had to choose from so any answer to that is just speculation or arm-chair quarterbacking at best.
We have no idea of the hurdles he’s overcome or the ones that he couldn’t, but blaming President Trump for not doing enough is a mindset that I’ll never have.
Where we go from here and how we get there is yet to be figured out. One thing I am sure of is that the Majority of people in this Country, the people behind the MAGA movement, will not fall into the shadows like the Uni-Party is hoping for.
Thank You President Trump for uniting us and for awakening the Silent Majority as we are silent no longer.

People tend to forget that the Swamp has had decades to put everything in place. It is naive to assume President Trump could dismantle that in 4 years as an Outsider.
President Trump did bring to light the fact that these people are not working for us, no matter what they promise. Everyday citizens are now discussing and questioning politician’s interests at a level that has been primarily overlooked in the past 25 years. A lot of people now understand that there is no difference between D’s and R’s- the fringe elements of each party excluded. It will be interesting to see where we go from here.

The President should issue a talking answer to the impeachment article as well as a Motion to Recuse the Chief Justice and motions for discovery from Congress folk who themselves have said that rioting is okay in other circumstances and/or promoted funds to bail out rioters from Antifa and BLM and/or have been bought off by the Chinese who are the reason we are involved in this mess to begin with. The Chief Justice’s actions in refusing to act on the President’s many lawsuits that reached SCOTUS are precisely why the President needed to try to get the Republicans in Congress to take their constitutional duties seriously. And there are other reasons Roberts can’t sit in judgment on our President (Epstein, Roberts’s bias against Trump as evidenced by his preposterous claim that there is no parttisanship in the Judiciary). That motion requires a deep deposition of Roberts himself.
The “talking answer” should include an index with all the material that should already have been declassified already showing not just the steal of the 2020 Election but also the bias and prejudice of the FBI which will be highly relevant to the trial, since most of the “proof” to be adduced on the “riot” will be supplied by FBI and/or Capitol Police folk.

The Democrats hate Trump (and the sky is blue); both parties in Congress have failed to point out anywhere Trump was actually wrong, except he did not try hard enough to be their buddy. Therefore, that peccadillo is his great sin.
I fear that unity will produce bipartisan support for government-run “free” health care. That will be the master plan to bring all the voters back home. And, as Andrew Cuomo has already signaled, the end of the Trump Administration ushers in the end (at least the great amelioration) of the Co-Vid crisis. That should do it.
It looks to me like they are returning to the old playbook of being the lesser of two evils.
