Within the rules there are punishments for members who would create or promote memes on their social media; there are a host of new subcommittees established including coronavirus; and interestingly, a new “Ombudsman” filtering position within the whistle-blower process that would protect the Biden administration from exposure of corruption.
Diversity is a paramount issue, including an entire office dedicated to ensure that any witness panel to congress would also have diversity. Yes, “witness diversity.”
The new “Whistle-blower Ombudsman” position is clearly a protective move to keep control of any remaining Trump-era officials that might expose corrupt activity.
Pelosi also uses the 117th congressional rules to position the Mayor of DC with House admittance privileges that will likely lead to an attempt at gaining statehood.
Members of congress are now subject to disciplinary action if they promote memes on their social media. Sleepy, Creepy, incoherent President Biden not allowed by proclamation.

As to these rules, I’m sure there is not a thing that’s helpful for any of us – I’m sure most of you are aware of the new “gender” rules where normal terms, such as mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son – that describe human familial relationships – can no longer be used.
Watching these imperious people twisting themselves as they struggle to communicate and avoid these familiar terms would be comic gold if it wasn’t so sick and sad.

In my limited understanding of the House’s rules I seem to recall the Speaker can be put up to a vote at any time. While she has just squeaked back in, and the joint session on the 6th is predetermined, wouldn’t it be a good move to move to “vacate the chair”? Before the joint session.
While no longer a privileged motion, it certainly would set Herr Pelosi back on her heels. It could also set up the argument that she is not the Speaker if the upcoming joint session gets really good.
