According to the latest news developments, AG Bill Barr appointed John Durham as a special counsel on October 19, 2020. To me the appointment looks like a total con-job.
I hope I am wrong, but every time we grant the institutionalists the benefit-of-doubt we are betrayed… Every.Single.Time. Ergo “codependent no more”.
However, that said, listen to this speech soundbite that was made on that exact October 19th date by President Trump. Listen very carefully: “I’ll only say this once”…
Did President Trump get notified, internally about the appointment, by someone in the concentric circle of the presidential office? My hunch says yes, based on the specificity of the speech comments made by President Trump.
Now hear this next part very clearly…. This is how the administrative state takes advantage of their insider positioning to control outside elements that are a risk to their status. They weaponize the principled honor of their target. This is why good people, decent people, do not last in Washington DC.
THAT is how a good man, a very decent man, has his love, honor and willingness to trust, weaponized against him. AG Bill Barr duped POTUS Trump, our president gave him full benefit of the doubt. Listen to that video: “I’ll only say this once”…
Do you remember the warning by Castellanos? Think back to the 2015 instructions from republican insider Alex Castellanos as he described how the RNC could eliminate the disruptive influence of Donald Trump:
[…] “The best way to do it is how Brutus killed Caesar. Get real close, snuggle up, and shiv him in the ribs”… (link)
Ugh
Swamp rat!!!
That EVIL swamp
testing 1.2…
I’m confused
Yep, too specific. He knew.
Catherine Herridge is also reporting that Barr did not “conclude” there was no fraud. She said this is all being misrepresented. I fell for it because it fits, so I hope all this points to good things. Trump does not suffer in silence with appointments he regrets. ; )
????
https://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/election-2020/catherine-herridge-says-reports-on-barr-are-not-true/93567983/
I pretty much rely on Catherine H to nail it!!!!
I wondered why President Bush would have been so helpful to make this recommendation to President Trump. Now we know why.
You told us, “Do not look away”
You told us, “there are trillions of dollars at stake”
You told us , “Sunlight is the best disinfectant”
Co-Dependent no more!
It is a con job. I believe a special counsel must come from outside the government.
no more excuses …sorry i have had enuff………..
Good god.
Bill Barr was a deep state plant from the beginning. Out of the blue, he writes a very well thought out legal opinion slamming the Mueller witch hunt. This was done to get PT to bite on him as the next AG.
Mitch McConnell would NEVER have confirmed anyone that might threaten the deep state swamp. Beware of ACB.
While today’s announcement enraged me, it did not surprise me. I have been saying for a long time that Bill Barr has blood on his hands. I am sure there will be some that insist this was purposeful 3D chess by Barr and that he is working with Sessions to bring the entire cabal down. Defend him if you must, but Bill Barr is an enemy of the people.
I remain hopeful that PT has run a giant sting operation on this fraud. However, if he has the MOAB, it is time to drop it.
hold on until a day or 2 before the electoral college meets
then bombs away
Don’t give them a chance to react or regroup
I like how you think.

Listen to what General McInerney has to say.
????????
I think that is the hail mary that will save us when the Courts finally let us down.
you know they will
just save it for the proper time when their guard is down
like a hour before the electoral college meets
Bill Barr was a big honcho in the Bush/Clinton drug empire. This has been reported in 2 eyewitness accounts long before he became Trump A.G. They don’t make chess THAT 5D. This man is worse than Obama admin rats.
I’m sorry, but I support Trump because I believe he is a tough, hardball, major league operator from the mean streets of Manhattan….IF he allowed himself to get played by someone who was obviously slow walking the whole Spygate investigation, then he isn’t exactly who I thought he was…make no mistake, I’m going to follow Trump through hell and back, but this whole Barr’s “a nice man” B.S. shouldn’t ever have washed with anyone
He said the same of sessions. He does that just before he strikes. Just be patient. You or I getting worked up isn’t going to change anything. Wait and see
If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog.
Code of Federal Regulations
§ 600.3 Qualifications of the Special Counsel.
(a) An individual named as Special Counsel shall be a lawyer with a reputation for integrity and impartial decisionmaking, and with appropriate experience to ensure both that the investigation will be conducted ably, expeditiously and thoroughly, and that investigative and prosecutorial decisions will be supported by an informed understanding of the criminal law and Department of Justice policies. The Special Counsel shall be selected from outside the United States Government. Special Counsels shall agree that their responsibilities as Special Counsel shall take first precedence in their professional lives, and that it may be necessary to devote their full time to the investigation, depending on its complexity and the stage of the investigation.
Outside, huh? Huh.
This provides cover for Biden to fire him his first day in office.
Why can’t PDT fire him now.
He can for the same reasons. But that would give GOPe reason to abandon Trump publicly and start calling on him to concede the election.
Why? And they don’t support him anyway. He expects some work and results, they delegate and go to parties.
I don’t think Biden needs cover to fire Barr. Biden, like Obama, can fire whomever he wants to fire and he will (if he ever actually gets to the Oval Office).
It’s not paranoia when it turns out that they really are all out to get you; got to shut up those uppity peasants and put them in their place.
If Biden can remove Durham via the statute can’t Trump do the same?
Arhg! Bassturd Barr. Was the President referencing Biden at the beginning of the clip?
Hmmm. So PDJT understands the play by the administrative state by his announcement about Barr at the rally. And by putting Barr in the spot lite as a “nice guy” PDJT is warning of Barr’s inaction knowing Barr already took action.
Interesting.
Btw, could Durham have left government service just prior to the appointment?
Yes, I’d like to know that. If SC is to be outside government, how does Durham then qualify unless he leaves government service?
I find it hard to believe that POYUS was hoodwinked by this appointment. We will know for sure shortly.
yup,if Trump knew about this
he is usually 3 steps ahead
time will tell
Okay, time is running out and if I am understanding Sundance correctly, the President’s options have been narrowed significantly by this sham appointment.
I am struggling to get onto the CTH site and don’t know why, so I may be missing a lot of comments but what can DJT do now and will it be enough? Is it better for him to blow it ALL up or to cut a deal and walk away? I prefer the first but know that it’s easy to say that when I am not the one holding the fate and finances of millions of people in my hands!
Sundance has this article posted on Twitter and someone tweeted a brilliant comment below that just cracked me up:
“et tu bagpipes?”

Here’s the good news: It’s not a con job. Barr appointed Durham under another statute:
“Barr did not rely on 28 C.F.R. § 600.3. He cited. 28 C.F.R. § 600.4-600.10. Barr relied on other statutory authority to make the appointment: 28 U.S.C § 509, § 510, and § 515.”
Jeffrey Coley – He may have cited 28 C.F.R. § 600.4-600.10 but I don’t think that negates 28 CFR 600.3 that spells out “qualifications” of said special counsel.
I could be wrong. You would think Barr knows what he is doing. But again, that may be the problem. He does know exactly what he is doing.
Not so; that subsection 600.4 simply defines the Jurisdiction of the investigation; 600.3, qualifications, i.e. who can be appointed as Special Counsel, still very much, applies. Here is a table of contents for this chapter, 28 C.F.R. Part 600, just click on the different ones, 600.3 and 600.4 and its easy to see whoever started that idea on twitter, that it was okay for Barr to appoint an employee of the federal government is doing one of those gaslighting tick-tock things.
Co-dependent no more.

600.1
The Special Counsel works at the discretion of the AG.
600.3
The Special Counsel SHALL BE selected from OUTSIDE the United States Government.
The first makes this appointment a meaningless joke when Durham’s new “boss” is installed.
The second is the EASY way that Durham will get no cooperation and is ultimately canned: HE IS quite literally, ILLEGITIMATE.
Prediction:
Durham is a dead man walking beginning 12:01 Jan 20.
Republican Senators in Biden AG Confirmation kabuki will ask nominee to commit to letting the Special Counsel complete his investigation.
Biden’s new AG, upon confirmation will remove Durham and replace him with one of her own, using the obvious flagrant violation of 600.3 as justification.
We’ll be lucky if we ever hear anything again.
Why did Barr wait until Oct 19, 2019 (in secret) to do this?
He could have done this on May 13, 2019 and if not then
MOST CERTAINLY on DEC 10, 2019 upon release of the IG FISA Report.
This is a fraudulent blocking move by Barr to prevent a PDJT declassification effort & to ensure that all of this goes away into a managed oblivion.
He exonerated a murder at Rubt Ridge. But “nice” can be applied to Satan too.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
“When you’re a rat you’re a rat all the way from your first cigarette to your last dying day.”
Nothing to see here folks. This shouldn’t surprise anyone. Bill Barr did exactly what he intended to do.
We Know!
Some very sick people in this world.
I see them all over the place every day
walking around in a mask.
Disgusting, so I imagine Barr tells him he will protect Biden and likely says he’ll protect him when he leaves office as well. Do not trust him President Trump!!!!!!!!!!! And listen to General McInerney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Would love that, I’ve been screaming “starve the beast” for years! It would have to be along the lines of a nationwide strike, and if your not careful you’ll owe an under payment penalty.
The next two weeks will answer a lot of questions.
I pray for the right answers.
Testing
Alex Castellanos’ grasp of history is bizarre to say the least.
Julius Caesar had made himself dictator perpetua, and had designated an heir, Octavian, a reason amongst many for ‘assassinating the tyrant’.
The assailants were hunted down and killed by Octavian and after a lengthy civil war, the republic was dead and Rome became an empire.
Yes soon as I heard it 100% correct to block declass.
Question is what now?
Trump would have to become a dictator to drain the swamp – to fix the Republic.
Mitch McConnell the Brutus Archetype of everything that is wrong with the state.
Given that the only thing Trump could get through the Senate were judges let me comment on the wild Alex Jones comment that “even the Supreme Court will bail on MAGA”.
very pessimistic at the moment.
With friends like Barr, who needs enemies.
30 pieces of silver? One wonders.
Betrayal of the worst kind
Umm these are State by State civil issues as I understand it. Barr should say that or nothing at all.
Almost makes one long for Sessions.
But that’s 6 of one, half-dozen the other—essentially the same guy with different physique. Sure makes me wish for a non-swamp AG. FWIW I can’t recall when the US had an AG who met that criterion, one who stood up for the people of the country and not the “elites”/deep-state/swamp/Unipartisans.
Sometimes I wonder if that’s even possible…
Sure makes me wish for a non-swamp AG. FWIW I can’t recall when the US had an AG who met that criterion..
Bobby Kennedy?
Swamp didn’t care much for him either.
Reminds me of Sessions episode with his grandchild, where he slaps Biden’s hand, as he’s walking away.
If I only knew how to post the clip. Classic
I wonder, seriously wonder how long it will be before PT fires Barr (along with Wray and numerous others…). As we’ve seen the President doesn’t indefinitely suffer disloyal members of his team, he’s probably just waiting for the best moment to wield the axe.
But we know it’s been brewing for some time. Barr’s inaction during this most crucial epoch of truly massive election fraud has clarified the situation in the face of lingering doubt. Now we can be sure Barr is soon to be history, joining a long list of other also-rans in the landfill of historic residue.
Is there any question PT will do the right thing? I think there’s no question at all. The only uncertainty is who Trump can nominate for the post who is NOT a swamp denizen and who will be confirmed by the shiftless Senate. Let that be doubly said should Republicans fail to keep a majority pending January’s toxic runoff elections in Georgia.
Interesting times we have now, to be sure a bit too interesting for my taste, but as always we’ll just have to see what happens.
So it seems. Then again the swamp dwellers have been in power for so long, anyone employed by government (the federal government anyway) prior to 2016 would necessarily have been on the job during a swampy administration.
And we know that even under Trump most federal agencies have in effect continued under swamp influence. The so-called “merit-based” system functions to protect incompetence more than to reward excellent performance. In principle bureaucracies can be trimmed and greatly improved, but the will to create that system is utterly lacking among Unipartisans infesting Congress.
Will those of us who are “senior citizens” live long enough to see any real transformation of the bureaucratic swamp to something functional? I’m not optimistic about that happening. A miracle could arise, but I won’t hold my breath waiting for it to appear.
The Senate isn’t confirming anyone this side of the Inauguration to be a new AG – of that you can be sure.
I said it at the very beginning…ain’t no one going to jail. They’ll all walk away without suffering any consequences for their corrupt actions. This government is beyond repair.
DC players all earn their living from the bureaucracy (Deep State). It’s who employs them; it’s where they gather to celebrate and socialize. Their kids are friends; their families intermarry. They’re there for each other. Touching! Isn’t it?
Just say’n… 😉
Enough said…

I support Trump. Hard stop. The entire political, media, lobbyist, big business and military interests do not. Not a single one. However, there are pockets within each of them that support our President, to varying degrees. I cannot fault him for not having a cabinet of his actual choosing at his disposal.
If Trump fails to overturn the fraud in this election, he needs to start a third party. It would destroy the republican party and probably the democrat party in time. There is a challenge of getting that party on the ballot, but just his rallies should provide enough evidence of support to get the party into the general election.
a third party will get nowhere
unless our broken elections are fixed NOW
How well do you know Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar?
In the famous speech given by the character of Mark Antony, he tells the mob in Rome that the assassination of Caesar must be warranted for a very good reason, because “Brutus is an honorable man!
By the time Antony is done with his speech, the mob is ready to lynch the first “honorable man” they see!
But…Mark Antony is a demagogue, and Shakespeare was no fan of democracy, as his mob switches sides within minutes, depending on who is swaying their fickle hearts. Brutus was trying to save what was left of the Republic, as A 2 mentioned above.
But Brutus was too late: the generally unemployed Roman mob, expecting and needing ever bigger hand-outs from the government, a government full of ruthless men willing to court and buy the mob to become dictators, was too debased to care about the niceties of Law, Morality, and Tradition.
Cicero – executed by Antony with the consent of Octavian/Augustus – correctly lamented about Rome: O Tempora, O Mores!
O the times, o the morals!
If Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar taught me anything, its to always speak LAST!!
This may be one to wait for the 24hr sniff test…
What I mean is as of moments ago, still no “Official” press release from the DOJ, as per:
https://www.justice.gov/news
To my very outsider opinion, you might think this would warrant at least a formal press release.
Secondly, consider the source, the self-described Decider of the Presidential election, the Associated Press… Perhaps another lie from another Liar that lies?
Then there is this from Lin Wood;

Nothing surprises me anymore.
Still, the current acting SecDef has apparently performed some significant if not heroic actions in his time so far…
And if the accounts of a raid on a server farm in Frankfurt, Germany! are accurate, then this ongoing knife fight has escalated into a kinetic gun fight already.

I used to say the jury was still out on Barr.
I don;’t think I’ll be saying it any longer.
AMERICA FIRST
Trump should either form a third party or galvanize his 74 million backers to primary every gop traitor in the house and senate in next midterm. Independent s can register as gop to back trump picks, but he needs better judgement in his picks because unlike privately industry they can’t be easily fired. Trumps should also create alternative media with 74 million starting subscribers. A trillion dollar industry is available.
The media is our enemy. We must remember that.
Barr had a chance to go down in history as a courageous patriot. He instead chose temporal riches in money, power, and adoration of the swamp and will end up being mentioned as a bit player taking the role of a back-stabbing traitor to the republic as founded.
There will be very few heroes from the political realm, but among them will be President Trump, Devin Nunes, Jim Jordan, and Ric Grenell.
If he is forced to leave, President Trump should toss a match over his shoulder and set off a bomb of declassification that will expose all for posterity to see. Write the history before they do, Mr. President.
In business when an entire corporation is at risk; you micro-manage the project.
P/T knows this especially since being betrayed repeatedly since becoming President. Remember the snake story…
Judicial Watch implied and many other warned the President that the DOJ/FBI will not prosecute themselves.
P/T had/has many paths to implement justice and complete power for at least the last 24 months to micro-manage Barr/DOJ/FBI.
President Trump is 100% responsible for Barr’s actions.
P/T has many paths to voter fraud justice today and to win this election.
Hmmmm,… Did AG, Barr include ‘investigate the ’20 Potus election’ as part of SC Durham’s scope/mission?
If so, and he pursues, he may have a Checkmate on a possible future Potus Big Guy trying to start his Malarkey with AG, Barr and/or SC, Durham.
“Pssst, Yo, Big Guy,… you know ‘The Thing’,… well lookey here, we got it on you and yours now, so go sniff a little girl and play nice,….. Or Else,… it All goes Public, with Indictments to follow!” It really is a ‘Big FN Deal’, as you told O,… Feel Unimpeachable, do you?”
That’s pretty much how the department of Just Us has operated since the days of covering for Hoover the crossdresser. I’d say spot on.
The President should ask for all the unredacted compiled maleficence, leak to to OAN or Conservative Treehouse, deny that it was leaked. If he is caught red handed , not one senior official in Washington has ever done jail time. He should pardon Snowden and Assange. Snowden gave us a heads up on what the deep state was doing and continues to do. I would love to fat shame our head of the DOJ but I think he should just be ashamed period. Sitting on the lap top while the President was getting impeached is unforgiveable. “Et Tu Brute” is motto.
What are you talking about? The DOJ is ran by Democrats/RINOs.
“And he pursues”… lol Durham isn’t doing anything. It’s a sham.
Last night on the local news on my local FOX station I heard a blurb about Barr’s “nothing important” voter fraud claim along with other related poo-pooing material that sounds like it would come from CNN. Incredible.
Winston, In our house it has gotten to the point that once the local channel gives the weather forecast we switch to OAN. Since the chinavirus we haven’t even watched any of the network shows either.
Maybe Trump wasn’t played. It’s speculation that he was.
I don’t give the benefit of the doubt to Barr in the least. I just think Trump would smoke this out if he was played. He’s not the type to stay silent when he feels that he’s been wronged.
Perhaps I’m too optimistic, but I still give Barr the benefit of the doubt simply because he put an end to Mueller/Weissmann. That is, we know that he isn’t just hot air.
Besides, we are not given an official statement from Barr himself, but only a version of snippets possibly lacking context, by the largely discredited AP.
Why would we give the AP the benefit of the doubt here?
Catherine Herridge apparently thinks Barr was misrepresented either by the AP itself or the people spinning the AP story.
Lin Wood is stepping back from his criticism of Barr.
Barr usually chooses his words carefully, so it would be important to see the exact words in the exact context. The meaning in context could have been, “So far, the career federal employees who ostensibly work for me have not concluded that there was widespread fraud.” That could be a perfectly true statement that doesn’t prove anything, unless we’re falling for the ad ignorantiam fallacy.
Also, Trump doesn’t call Barr, sarcastically, an “honorable man”. He says, apparently in all sincerity, that Barr is “wonderful” (2x) and “fair” (3x), even though Barr is going to wait until after the election to go after the bad guys.
It could be that Barr is successfully focusing the media on the crucial question of whether there is sufficient evidence of election fraud.
Sun Tsu: “Appear weak when you are strong.”
That seems reasonable to me.
I am sicken by the AP story on what Barr said but like you I am waiting for a direct statement by Barr in his own words.
Mueller/Weissmann was spent as Trump obviously wasn’t going to fire him and they clearly had nothing on him. If anything ending it helped them move on to their next sham and do you remember who publicly begged Mueller not to testify? Bill Barr. To still think that Barr is going to do something is just lunacy or trolling. There is a 100% chance that he’s a traitor. Zero doubt.
“Trump says Mueller should not testify”
“Barr says he will not stop Mueller from testifying before Congress” https://edition.cnn.com/2019/05/16/politics/barr-mueller-testifying-congress/index.html
Did you really just put up a CNN link to defend yourself? haha Barr went out of his way to get Mueller to back out of it because he knew the game would be exposed, which it was. Many of us remember it and like a good Leftist you invert everything. Barr has done absolutely nothing to actually help Trump but he’s done a great job of pretending to.
US Attorney General Eric Holder has named federal prosecutor John Durham to conduct a preliminary review of alleged CIA prisoner-abuse cases following a recommendation from the Justice Department’s ethics office to reopen the inquiries. WAKE UP!!
Wake up guys. This is why we lose so often.
We lose so often because trillions are at stake and the VAST majority of government at EVERY level -IS- the deep state/swamp. Trump was a fluke they didn’t expect who came out of the blue. That will not be allowed to happen again, no matter what it takes, even massive voting fraud/hacking.
What a clever and easy way for the dragon to DESTROY the republic: release a virus in the reelection year of the only modern US prez to even pretend to stand up to them and then let the deep state/swamp with help from Iranian and Chinese hacking eliminate any trust in the voting system for a large percentage of the public.
Ammo Up and Lock n Load. We have a country to defend.
