We have a rather unique situation here… The digital U-Haul is loaded after our eviction from WordPress/Automattic for violations of community ‘wrong think’ and questioning narratives against the interests of Big Tech. After a decade on the platform we are sweeping up the porch and saying farewell to the WordPress community.
The CTH family is disappointed at the business position of Automattic, but we are also excited about the new home we have created. CTH 2.0 is going to be awesome, liberating and even better. We are so blessed and fortunate beyond my wildest imaginings.
Right now we are patching the holes in the walls and running the vacuum while our long-time friends stop by to express their anger about our eviction. Simultaneously, those who moved away to the big city are coming back to visit and express their support.
I cannot go into details, mostly because I haven’t yet decided whether to accept a proposal for a grand exit – or stick to our customary & understated simple wave farewell, but the big city folks want to use this eviction as a warning of sorts.
Apparently, the youthful rebellious spirit within those who sold-out to mega-media conglomerates and bright lights has been triggered. A spirit we at CTH retain.
Out there in the land of the MSM right now there is a group of ‘journalists’ ideologically reminiscing for a time when the counter-culture was fighting for the truth; damn the consequences and without care for wounded feelings, delicate sensibilities or financial livelihoods. They reflect on a spirit we have retained and protected within our CTH community. A spirit we will never stop safe-guarding from enticement and compromise.
We are rag-tag misfits, we are proud of it, and -if needed- we clean up well.
We are a crew more comfy eating pizza from box on a tailgate than trying to fit in with a new media outlook of highfalutin’ big technocrats. We are, quite simply, the rebel alliance.
All of that said, a question for each of you would be:
How did you find yourself a member of the CTH community?….
What was it that brought you here?…
And why did you stick around with this group through whatever endeavors you found of value?
A notable disclaimer. Your answer(s) may end up in a very large spotlight; so think about whether you are comfy with that before you share anything. Your comment responses are always private, but also likely to be read by some very influential big city types.
An update on CTH 2.0 will soon follow. But for now, as we sit on the porch and reminisce about a decade of discussion on this platform, there are a bunch of folks who want to know why CTH matters to you.
If you feel like sharing your answer, write it in the comments.
Every response is entirely OK.
I have never known a better group of cyber-friends than this community. I have never known a larger and deeper group of experience than exists right here. I have never known a better team at assembling details, granular and specific details that outline the truth, than this crew. For that, I am blessed and incredibly thankful… Especially today.
So if you’re comfy, what brought you here?
Love to all,
Sundance

1) To be honest I don’t specifically recall how CTH was found. It would have been through the commenters section of another site…Lucianne a likely candidate;
2) I was hooked by the Trayvon Martin and Ferguson, Mo commentary. I was impressed firstly by the not seen elsewhere detective work and elucidation of what was occurring. It was different and outstanding;
3) I am in consonance with the group’s general philosophy, doggedness, and comraderie.
2016 election, interesting thoughts, insight and commonsense approach.
I believe it was Howie Carr that led me here a long time ago. I was searching for answers to how these people were getting away with serious felonies . There is a laundry list of people who should be serving time in prison right now ,yet none have been held accountable . Aside from the one guy they pretended to hold accountable “James Wolfe” they under charged him big time to bury the case.
I know today that Donald trump won the election and that the democrats cheated in the wee hours of the morning. I fully expected this to happen last time. The only reason it didn’t was because they believed each other. Some probably believed obama was telling the truth when he said Clinton was the most qualified candidate ever to run. I thought it was pretty funny myself .
You know why? Because I would put my pedigree (Northwestern, ’90) up against any of these assholes that presume to set the world straight for the “great unwashed” who they believe need tending: I never found it in my character while achieving said pedigree to presume the same. But then, at a certain point in my life I prayed for nothing more than wisdom on my journey through this planet. Funny, the lord granted me wisdom, which has proven a great blessing and a great curse because it is the more difficult path; the righteous path, fraught with peril and doubt. The tree house provides a respite for those of us who yearn against the storm of bullshit for truth here, where we live, when we live, while we struggle to provide an easier path for our beloved children.
I can’t recall how, why or when I started lurking and I only started commenting a few years back. I don’t Twitter, Facebook or go on political websites. Truth and honesty along with excellent posts by SD and contributors commenting with various points of view that are usually well substantiated are some of the reasons TCTH keeps dragging me back. I can’t stay away!
I used to be a news fanatic however TCTH has exposed the media bias to the point I no longer watch or read the mainstream.
I can only say THANK YOU for letting me cling to a branch.
How did you find yourself a member of the CTH community?…. What was it that brought you here?…
In 2012, I had just left a full time job with only having a part time job but I was so unhappy and miserable I quit. I live in Central Florida and had watched the Casey Anthony trial and now there seemed to be another controversial crime that was gaining traction in my area. It was the Trayvon Martin George Zimmerman drama starting to unfold. I didn’t know much about it but thought it was strange that Trayvon was 17 but they only photos they showed on the news was of 12 year old Trayvon so I did a search online to find more information and CTH popped up first. Also at the time Obamacare was making me very angry so I switched from being a Democrat to being an independent.
I started coming here every day, multiple times a day and I learned and once I saw what I was seeing, there was no unseeing it. I couldn’t go back to not knowing and understanding that the news is NOT the news but a narrative/story they want to sell you and I had decided to stop buying.
I watched the entire Zimmerman trail along with reading the analysis here every day and it always unfolded like you predicted.
And why did you stick around with this group through whatever endeavors you found of value?
There was always interesting analysis but the next thing that meant something to me was the Benghazi brief. It is heartbreaking and maddening what the Obama administration did or more like did not do before during and after and your brief lays it all out from the very beginning and is must read for anyone who truly wants to know what happened and why.
And then there was….Trump. When he announced his Presidential run, I was working in an office with a few people who were over 60 and I told them he was going to win, one thought I was crazy, one was like I sure hope not and one thought I may be right. I never watched The Apprentice but I always watch Celebrity Apprentice and followed him on Twitter (when I had a Twitter, fear of doxing made me leave) and I just knew, don’t ask me how I just knew.
I feel safe here on my branch and the only time I did not I reached out and you all fixed it, quickly.
The other thing I really like is the Hurricane info, being in FL that is a life saver.
This is where I come very morning for my news and then I go to certain people on Twitter. I still watch some Fox shows despite what they did on election night. I am starting to watch Newsmax but at the end of the day, there is no better analysis, IMHO, then I get here every day. I am grateful for that and thank you Sundance.
I am a Wolverine, for life ?
Well stated. I feel much the same.
I hope when I make a foolish statement, or ask a dumb question, there is not too much snickering, but I always get kind and caring responses.
We are all the same, and different. I love that we share the core devotion to each other, grateful for Sundance and his level minded guidance in how to proceed.
I love all of you. Sorry I do not comment often.
I am honored to have found all of you. God bless and keep us all together
Like many I discovered this site looking for information from more of a conservative perspective but not being satisfied with some of the “name brand” sites that are out there.
I became a member of the community (if I can be bold enough to claim that) based on reading lots of comments. I began to feel that although I may not agree with some of what others wrote I really felt a kinship with the spirit they shared and how people tried to police the comments themselves.
I’ve stuck around because of my fellow Treehouse members and of course Sundance intrepid writing, research and insight. Truly this is a place unlike any other. Looking forward to CTH 2.0 !
How did you find yourself a member of the CTH community?
I’m not sure how I found this refuge, but I know it was at the time of the George Zimmerman trial. Somehow, I ended up here, and I’ve never left. I come by every day and read everything. It was eye-opening. This place showed me what actual investigative journalism is, and made me so aware that I’d never really experienced it before. Everything else I’d seen and read wasn’t investigative, it was just fluff. Your articles are referenced and sourced. And the passion that’s here, the passion for the truth. And I absolutely love how unapologetically Christian this site is. AMEN.
What was it that brought you here?…
Like I said earlier, I don’t know how I found this site. But what keeps bring me back: the quality of the research and writing, the intelligent conversation, and the humour. There’s a lot of humour here.
And why did you stick around with this group through whatever endeavors you found of value?
THE TRUTH always brings me back here.
I discovered this site in 2015 as the build up to the 2016 began heating up. I can’t remember how, but probably by following a link from elsewhere. So many conservative links looked promising, but many were one dimensional or limited in depth and insight. The Treehouse was more insightful, bold and disciplined.
Thinking back reminds me of how depressing things were under Obama, and the prospects of Clinton. And as evil and deceitful as the MSM were then, they seem mild compared to what we’ve seen since.
It will be depressing and dangerous if the election steal is carried off and we have an even more radicalized criminal elite bent on vengeance and destruction of all changes of the Trump term. Regardless, the treasonous coup cannot be passively accepted and just shrugged off as politics as usual.
The leftists used the term ‘resistence’ over the Trump term. Conservatives need to do it better and smarter if it comes to that. The ways and means will have to be determined as things unfold, but bold leadership, financial resources and shrewd media utilization are just part of the emerging mix.
Agree completely
I am using my iPad and unable to “like”
I consider myself a ferocious American.. I was born to military parents, married a military man and have children in the military.
I found Treepers to be the non-offendable sounding board outside my own beloved family. I love this Country and she stands for… The treehouse is my Refuge.
I was thinking, what if you were in service to PDJT and then you end up with a Globalist as Preezy….and have your kids at risk of being sent to who knows where for nation building again…. Prayers for your family in service and the Truth being revealed of the stolen votes before Trump is elected for his 2nd term in about 2 weeks…
It is an awful thought…
I was directed to The Conservative Treehouse 5+ years ago from 2 commenters on another “conservative” website one day when the commenters there were so negative about DJT and those 2 positive ones recommended this one. I don’t recall who those 2 were, but I thank and bless them for it. Sundance brings to us the most specific, detailed, truthful information about everything and everyone from the Deep State Swamp and to the Most Honorable Ones, especially President Trump, who fight for us. In addition, he has also shared his compassion during such times as when hurricanes occur and he, from my understanding, goes out with his rescue team to save lives. During such tragic situations, he posts that if anyone needs help, to contact him plus if any of us need other help, he will be for us. He is the “Good Samaritan” of this present time. Ad Rem, Menagerie, Grandma C and all posters who bring information that enrich our lives and bring us further insight, thank you so much. Especially for you, Sundance…Thank You So Very Much For So Much. You’re our teacher, our friend, often our pastor, our comedian at times, our rescuer when we need help, a modest person with a heart of gold. I look forward to my forever journey with you and the Treepers. May the Lord bless you fully.
What was it that brought you here?
I had a family member that was seriously injured, and knowing how the power of prayer works, I did a search for prayer chains, and one of links was TCTH. I opened the link and saw the burning candle on the top right, clicked on the link, and entered my information. I dont recall what the subject to the left was, but I kept moving on with my mission of finding prayer chains.
As a regular commenter on other news sites, I was looking for links to back up a position I had, and one of them brought me to this site. I read the article, and then linked it to the position I was trying to make.
How did you find yourself a member of the CTH community?
I kept coming back here from time to time to see what the daily topics were, as I did with other sites. If I found something interesting, I’d read it. As with other blog sites, I always had a tongue and cheek attitude while reading the topics, but up until this time, I was a lurker. When the special council was created for President Trump, I would come here from time to time, but what really hooked me was the way SD would post letters, videos, cases, etc, to hammer down and back up his points. WOAH! That wasnt something I’d seen before!
I was also interested in reading the comments by folks that were here at the time, and those that are still here. They had a grasp of the subject matter, and appeared to know what they were talking about. For me it was a way to learn about things. It was a little while later before I made my first comment
And why did you stick around with this group through whatever endeavors you found of value?
TCTH is my first cup of coffee in the morning blog site after I check my morning emails and local weather. If I read a story from another news site, Ill check here later on to see if SD has a take on it. Its also a place where i can get more in depth information on topics that the conservative news media just touches on. The open thread forum that comes out at about 10:30pm my time is one of my favorite forums. Where else will you find any information about the the progress of the wall on the southern border? Its also a good place to see feeds posted by my fellow treepers on many subjects from other bloggers that I like to read and learn more about….and hey, where else will you see a comment from Sarah Palin, or Sidney Powell pop up?
Keep up the good work, SD!
Wow, after reading most of these comment I doubt there could be very much I can add.
I really don’t remember when I first found the CTH, but probably around March or April of 2015. I believe I signed up in Sept of 15.
CTH is my first thing in the morning, last at night site. And even though I don’t comment very often, I do read almost every article and tons of the comments.
There have been many commenters from years ago that all had thought provoking viewpoints. That can be a good thing to open everyone’s eyes. It is neither a good or bad thing. Some of the older commenters I miss reading are Zurich Mike and Bluto. But all things change. We all have our own lives to live, family, jobs, etc.
But it is that Sundance has stood by all of us through thick and thin. And by showing us a truth many of us just did not want to hear or believe. We had to see it for ourselves. Like Sundance says so often “once you see the strings, you can’t unsee them”.
So even now it can still be quite difficult to expose all of this conspiracy to others. They must see it for themselves. Often it is quite a shock to them but I have tried to bring them along by bits and pieces.
My one DIL asked today, “Why didn’t you tell us about all of this years ago?” My answer was, “Would you have believed me back then or would have just written off as a tin foil hat nut?”
I wish there was an easier path to bring light and truth to so many, but there doesn’t seem to be.
May God bless you Sundance always and never give up.
CTH was the best site for this walkaway dem to find in early 2017. After Pres. Trump’s victory in 2016, I couldn’t stand to watch MSM. I goggled conservative sites and was drawn to Breibart because of Andrew. But I was disappointed in the hit and miss reporting and often trashy comments. But on one rare occasion. a poster referenced CTH. Then I came here, saw A. Breitbart on the wallpaper, read a well-researched Sundance article along with insightful comments and never left!
I wish I could recall how I wound up here, most likely a link posted in an article I was reading, as I read much and follow links to other articles on subjects near and dear to my heart. What I do know is that I never left once I found this treehouse. It is rare among websites for Sundance’s deep analysis and focus on what’s important, truly important to our country and our lives. And it is also filled with intelligent folks, who speak passionately and logically, which helps each of us process information and decide for ourselves the truth and reality. It is refreshing to see intelligent, well spoken opinions and insights. That is something you will not find in the comments posted to news articles, blogs, etc. The tree house is my first and last stop every day. Sometimes it’s my only stop. The main stream media is so biased and any news massaged to meet their agenda that I no longer trust them and rarely read anything they produce. I am thankful every day that I found the Tree House and am in awe of Sundance’s analysis and my fellow Treepers.
One day about 5 years ago, a link to the Treehouse brought me to your site. I was blown away by the concise, factually based analysis. The rocksolid, in depth reporting gave perspective on issues that I couldn’t get anywhere else. Many times, I have had to reread an article because it is so chock full of relevant information. Your ability to separate the wheat from the chaff, and to connect the dots is brilliant.
The readers who post comments on the articles are so well informed and I respect the experience and perspective their opinion adds to the discussion. Your staff and other posters do a great job of monitoring trolls and profane or insulting commentary. To me, it is like coming upon a coffeehouse and listening at the edge of an intelligent and intellectual discussion of important issues. It is always worth while.
I just want the truth. The format is not an issue for me. Plain or fancy, whatever you want is fine.
I was kicked out of the Treehouse several years ago because I and myself simply questioned some of the Logic posted here in regards to some financial discussions.. I just changed my name and logged in as another user and just never really posted much more as I do like reading some of the more granular details. I suppose I will hide in the shadows of the new platform as well. I wish the best on the move.
Kicked out? What did you do?!
Seriously, I am a horrible wolf. I have repeatedly criticized our blog host, got snappy with other contributors, denigrated organized religion, recklessly posted information on thermite plasma FAE devices and used foul language and utterly inappropriate acronyms. I’m also gay and an evangelical atheist.
But Sundance and the long suffering mods didn’t put the boot in my shaggy haunches. (And they had more than fair cause).
You must have gone to plaid …
This is a re-post of my comments from a recent earlier “deplatforming” update, but it answers your questions and I am more than willing to let the crypto-media have a piece of my mind.
I have “stuck around” because the Treehouse has earned my respect as the only consistent source of non-propagada news and analyses that I am aware of.
Yes, one is supposed to look at both sides of an issue, weigh the “evidence”, and make your own conclusions. BUT, if one side demonstrably and continuously lies, then it is an exercise in self-flagellatory masochism–not to mention, time– to accord that side ANY FURTHER substantive credibility.
And, to make things worse, there are only a few sites where the”conservative” viewpoint is available; and these are being actively censored, if not actually suppressed. Witness the current Treehouse deplatforming !
I also happen to like the camaraderie, insight, and humor of many of the posters
So, yes the Treehouse is my political home and I wouldn’t give it up for world.
The Treehouse also serves an extremely valuable function of archiving the actual historical reality of current events (collectively aggressively suppressed by the mainstream media). Hopefully, this will serve as real-time data to counter the unfortunate inevitable distortion often deliberately practiced by those who write history with an agenda in mind
(As an aside Sundance, I would recommend that “they” take a good look at all the comments and support you have received in all the deplatforming saga posts)
I apologize for the length of this comment; I hope the quality of its content makes up that.

Thank you, Sundance, for everything you are doing–and have done–to help save our Constitutional Republic from those that would destroy it; as well as being the premier vehicle for countering the Orwellian propaganda spewed forth in lock-step by the mainstream media.
I first discovered the Treehouse in 2016, when it saved my sanity during the final days of the election. I’ve been an avid reader since then, and I’ve recommended it to a number of others who have become similarly “addicted.”
That said, I don’t have words to adequately express my sincere gratitude for your efforts.
All my very best, Sundance, for your success–both in this endeavor and in your personal life.
And my best wishes for you, your staff, AdRem, and my other fellow “Treepers” for a great Thanksgiving, Holiday Season, and a truly wonderful New Year.
Robert
I came to CTH purely by accident. I am an older patriot and lover of this Great Country like my father before me.
This is my first comment ever on any site but I have read most articles from Sundance for the last 7 or 8 years or so and trust in his factual writing, his intuition and foresight.
I have taught my children the values of self reliance and freedom and will never apologize to anyone for my genetic heritage, my faith or my family’s well being.
I was born during the Harry Truman administration, saw the John Kennedy assassination on TV and thought Ronald Reagan was the greatest president of my life time,,,, UNTIL now, as Donald Trump is the Greatest President I will ever see and be a citizen under.
I can only Thank the CTH for its hard work, integrity and honesty that puts it, unfortunately in a small minority of truthful reporting of what is real. My whole Hearted Thanks to you and your site for what you do!
Jessica Lane Chambers
Was going down the comments on Yahoo at the time and someone posted to check this place out. My first venture into blogdom. That case had me rivetted, and as the year or so went on, got to know the people here, their different expertise and opinions, and learned of the good sleuthing done on the Trayvon case.
From that day on, have rarely missed a day of checking in and reading the new posts, it is my homepage and I’m actually here several times daily, as so many others. Spent some time next door at Stella’s, got to know them really well.
Sundance and crew have opened my eyes, the proverbial “red pilled”, having got into Fox News as my main source of info, and the “Splitter” explanation, and how it played out exactly as Sundance explained, the article above on the Trillions at Stake and politicians now writing their own bills, the “UniParty”, Main Street/Wall Street amongst others has kept me here.
Was truly blind to so much, and has been both a blessing and a curse, I was an All-American type guy, grew up on all that Marlarkey: Truth, Justice and the American Way. This site has changed my life, and I regret not a moment spent, nor a morsel gleaned here.
I now share the truths I’ve learned here, point people here, and am now a political activist! Who’d of thunk it.
Keep Calm and Sundance On!!!
Another reason I’m glad your moving. This WP section sucks for text chat. You can’t edit post. It’s a dinosaur of the internet. You should be happy to move on. lol
I linked to a story I saw on one of the Aggregator sites and it was on CTH. I read the story, looked at previous stories and then the Comments Section. I knew it was my peeps.:) (and still is my peeps).
How did you find yourself a member of the CTH community?….
What was it that brought you here?…
I see these 2 as connected. I saw CTH referenced in blogs that I respect and linked CTH as a favorite about 3 years ago.
And why did you stick around with this group through whatever endeavors you found of value?
I respect the work done in each post. It reminds me of the sort of detail that resulted in RatherGate. Nothing is hidden. We are invited to read and follow links and make up our own minds. This is the sort of value that I want from information. Lots of people provide data. But information is crucial.
I don’t remember exactly when I found your site, thinking it was 2014. I followed a link from someone at either Blaze, or Breitbart and started reading the articles. A lot of times I couldn’t understand everything, and would have to read multiple times to make any headway, so I started reading the comment section where I would find great explanations and clarity.
I made it a favorite site and would check it out intermittently, then it became daily. I was a lurker for many years, just reading, and then finally posted. I don’t post often as I still work full time. I have learned so much from this site, and have recommended it to others who are looking for truth and conservative news. I also frequent The Liberty Daily also.
I went to the MAGA rally November 14 by myself, and it was quite the wonderful experience. All President Trump supporters were so kind. Prayed the St Michael prayer aloud around the Supreme Court. After a long day (started at 6:30, end around 5:30) I got off the Metro at McPherson Square to find that Antifa was nearby. I walked behind the cops and saw a young tall man who was holding a Trump 2020 sign. He was from New York. I asked him if he would mind walking this old lady home. He was surprised that I came to DC by myself and call me a “Bad Ass” LOL. I felt God called me to be there, and was well protected by angels. He graciously did walk me back, and I didn’t go outside the hotel until the next morning to go home. We passed several morbidly obese black females who called out “F” Trump. I replied God Bless you which really set them off. I thank this young man, and all the angels that were with me, for my safety.
How I learned to pray for my enemies: I find that when you pray blessings of salvation on people, God wants all to be saved, and listens to your prayers. Those for whom you are praying can come to God willingly, or dragging their feet kicking and screaming. Many who are especially stubborn and blind usually have to have many problems enter their lives that puts them on their knees– before they to turn to God. Initially you get unholy pleasure watching them suffer, until God’s love takes over your heart and you actually desire even those who are evil to repent and be saved. No one can do this naturally, only with God’s love. Many times I can’t make it one week without going to confession (wanting God to just smite the evil people from this world, and refusing food if they were starving to anyone who voted for Biden, especially Catholics). However, that is someones daughter, son, parent, etc. I am a work in progress.
God bless all who reside here on these branches.
CTH has been on my reading essential list for about eight years because of
*the in depth analysis of issues
*shining sunlight on issues the vested interests want hidden
*its honesty
*its compassion for victims of political paternalism and croneyism.
*its unashamed idealism
*its adherence to foundational principles of honesty and integrity in all aspects of human endeavour.
*because the MSM just totally sucks for its bias, untrustworthyness and shallow ‘reporting’
*six million other reasons
I first came to the Treehouse during the Trayvon Martin scam. The excellent reporting and honest assessment of what was really happening in the case made it a valuable source.
When the Jessica Chambers murder took place, I followed that event on the Treehouse as well.
However, I didn’t become a regular reader until Nov of ’15 during the primaries. The Treehouse was the only accurate source of news on the Trump campaign and what was really going on in the election as well. Since that time, I have been a daily reader and sometimes contributor to the comment sections. During the 2016 campaign when I attended the Trump rallies, I handed out cards directing people to the Treehouse. Over the course of 6 rallies, I handed out a LOT of cards!
I was overjoyed when Sundance began to follow the Trump campaign and the Trump Administration. Providing in depth news coverage and analyses, focusing on the economics as well as the political.
The Treehouse comment sections are the best managed I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been reading blogs since 2000. Usually, the comments sections get destroyed over time but that has never happened at the Treehouse in the years I have read it daily; I know that takes a lot of effort to keep the comments free of destructive elements. We as readers, are protected by the vigilance of the comment moderators. The Treehouse is the only site that takes the time and effort to do so. It makes the comment sections a worthwhile place to share ideas and information. It is like a worldwide townhall where literally people from all over the world come to connect and share information.
Every day, I turn on my computer and the Treehouse is one of the two sites I still bother to read. The Treehouse has been a valuable and historical resource for the world. It’s like attending a Sons of Liberty meeting in the pre-revolution days. Make no mistake, we ARE in a revolution again against elements that are working to destroy liberty and impose tyranny. It’s no wonder that the elitists are trying to silence it just as the King’s agents tried to silence the Sons of Liberty.
I appreciate the work that Sundance and the moderators do in providing us our very own Sons and Daughters of Liberty meeting. I hope it continues for many years to come for it serves a vital purpose in this day in age. Information is the enemy of tyranny and the Treehouse is the repository of information. Thank You!
I had been going to TheBlaze for a few years ( still do but not as often now) because firstly I liked their article format and their take on the news of the day. Not as in-depth and informative as CTH, but better than others I had found.
The second thing I liked and actually most was their comment section. Like here most trolls where kept to a minimum and although there was a lot of friendly banter those commenting often, like here, contributed interesting ideas and details that connected the dots behind the stories.
However several years ago the site was under constant attack and keeping the comment section manageable became to much work so they gave notice that they were going to discontinue it.
During the few remaining days commenters shared other sites to which they were heading. I checked them out and although I didn’t find any I liked for commenting on I did bookmark Doug Ross @ Journal, https://directorblue.blogspot.com/
That is where one day I happily discovered CTH in the Cornucopia section.
I come here not because there is no better place to find in depth articles and analysis of “every” current event than here. Because most current “events” have little impact on my life.
I come here because I find in-depth articles and analysis of the “major” events of the day that do impact my life. And if there is a better analysis it is often linked within the article.
I stay because of what happens past the end of the articles, the comment section.
There are commenters here from every state and most of the far flung corners of the world living in cities big & small each living under different local rules and regulations. There is no better place than here to find out what they think about what is going on.
We help correct misconceptions, we add the knowledge we’ve learned in our own lives to the knowledge gained by others, we search for answers to questions asked, we organize, we fund raise, we rally we cheer, we cry, we console and we pray for one another.
That’s why I stay and that’s “thee end” of my story.
I first found CTH through links in comments on various websites – Gateway Pundit, Breitbart, American Thinker, etc. I kept seeing these links, so clicked on one one day. I found this fabulous community of bright people who could take ideas, digest them, discuss them and not resort to silly name calling or crude comments.
I started coming here during the 2016 debates and primary. It was this community that helped me get over my own doubts about Donald Trump and helped me to appreciate his strengths. You guys inspired me to help with the campaign.
It took me a long time to delurk and start posting but I’m so glad I did. This place is filled with great analysis, both in the articles and the comments. I truly enjoy chewing over ideas with all of you. I don’t always post, but I read every single day, several times and love the intellectual stimulation. It’s why I keep coming back and why I’ve shared this site with many others.
Happy Thanksgiving and many blessings to all!
I propably reached CTH about 3 years ago trying to figure out some detail concerning Russiagate.
I am much more conscious about my reasons for hanging around.
At first I mainly sought knowledge here but over time hope, courage and faith have become at least equally important reasons for me.
I am danish and I live in Copenhagen, I have a Christian name and a heathen name. I do not consider myself a christian, I have never been baptized and I don’t wish to.
I do however cherish my luck for being born into a christian culture, albeit a culture less christian and more socialistic than the American.
I was raised to despise patriotism, which still to day is labeled antithetic to democracy in all of Western Europe, raised to pity the slightly crazy americans, clinging to their guns their bibles and their pride in stars and stripes.
15 years old I went with a friend (born in the US) on a 3 week vacation to Canada and the US, and I returned home with a more favorable opinion on americans and a less favorable opinion on canadians.
Eventually I grew up to despise socialism, cherish patriotism, respect christianity and finally to envy your guns, or rather the freedom and selfreliance that they symbolize and sometimes convey.
I feel at home here at CTH, being among kindred spirits. We all relate to Sundance right?
Basically we are fighting the same culture war even if a few of us are not americans, and face slightly different obstacles and circumstances.
You americans are not an extension of Trump, Trump is an extension of you guys.
And I have faith in you.
Wow! That really hit me in the heart, Sebastian. I knew So little about you. Thanks for sharing.
I found the Treehouse when the Jessica Chambers murder happened
I was brought here by the quest for unfiltered truth
I have stuck around since the Treehouse has proven over and over again they pursue the truth wherever it leads. Purity.
I’ve been a daily reader since at least the Trayvon Martin fiasco. I became addicted and have followed ever since.
I have learned so much and have become a close follower of politics because of The Conservative Treehouse. My friends now recognize me as the best informed on the political landscape and come to me with their questions. I got phone calls on election night 2016 asking if I was still sure Trump was going to win.
Sundance, you helped me to see Trump as the best candidate when the field was still large, and before others began to see the light.
I’ve always followed and enjoyed true crime stories. Now our political system is a true crime story (largely). So, I’m still addicted to a fault.
I see this site as essential. Thanks you for keeping it going.
Sundance,
Happy Thanksgiving and Thank You for all you do.
From the squirrel’s nest in the old oak tree….
What’s a gal to do? Rush has never liked Port St. Lucie…ol’ Mancow is gone from WLS and he never liked Joliet…The Treehouse is my last literal refuge!!!
I always laughed at both of the above hosts and their comments regarding said towns, with good reason!
I had heard of Jessica Chambers on a news station and googled the case as it was working its way through the trial. The Conservative Treehouse popped up and I clicked the link. I have been here ever since. Jessica Chambers is a case, not so unusual…I have seen it or variations of it, during my career as a burn nurse. Although I have moved on to other critical care areas, burn care has always been my passion. I have worked in 3 different national burn centers as life moved me around the country. I started coming back for the updates. The Treehouse information seemed less biased.
I must also mention the hurricane updates, encouragements and emergency management tips have been helpful!
I came and went, explored the site, off and on. Over the years, I found myself coming to the Treehouse, more frequently. Now, I visit several times a day, looking for updates on the news, in attempts to find discernment for what is real and what is not. Or differentiate MSM opinion versus honest fact. Input from the community here often expands on information, giving a deeper understanding or view.
Regular Treepers and Treepettes, who post frequently, with well thought out, rational ideas and opinions generated towards the current events we experience, are what keeps me here. Looking for truths and finding them, in the Treehouse. I love my Constitution and am around like minded conservative individuals. The community here, “We The People”, have a strong sense of what is right and wrong. A while back, one person said that we here are a little more “cerebral” than other sites. I concur.
The Treehouse is a site where there is minimal visible (and offensive) trolling and if threads are hijacked, that seems to be addressed quickly. This is a respectful and God loving community. We support each other, offer our tears and prayers, when needed. We teach each other and we learn from each other.
Business models and products change over time. Products go through their own aging process and WP may be doing that as their leadership may change to stay relevant to the collectivist, and not decline. I personally think the Treehouse may have outgrown the current platform (ideologically), and this may truly be a blessing in disguise? Ten years is a long time in the business and product cycle. Look at Apple and the iPod to the iPhone 12, as an example of the exception but they have to keep changing to stay competitive.
I am looking forward to the new roll-out! Sorry it was so long and wordy…
I am not sure how i got here , I know it was during Obama’s first year for sure , a very long year that turned into 8 devastating long years after a devastating long 8 yrs of George Bush.. i was pissed at my country for being so ill informed and oblivious and uncaring – no one wanted to talk politics at all.. everyone around me was so caught up in Me Me Me on their fast track.
I needed salvation, I needed to do something, I needed to wake people up!
and my salvation was CTH. because i knew i was not alone and i was not being lied too.
it was here at CTH and only here; that I was armed with Truth so beautifully written and documented and every day I put those arrows in my quiver and i fought like never before to wake this country up and i know that together….. WE DID JUST THAT!
CTH has brought me much knowledge and a sense of being apart of something
and not alone lost in a sea of American Pravda.
I am forever grateful for Sundance providing such a refuge. I truly believe with out this place and all It provides to all of us, we would never of had a MAGA President Trump.
I came here following a link from a commenter on Breitbart (which lost my readership after all their Javanka crap). I started reading and commenting here regularly during the San Bernadino massacre. Because of Sundance and all the thoughtful and constructive comments, I was able to make sense of the cluster of mass shootings and lack of FBI integrity in 2015. I was really scared for myself and my family. I had a really difficult time going to public gatherings for a while. (Writing this now, it seems COVID has replaced mass shootings in the Democrat pre election playbook).
The reason I stay with Sundance is because sources are cited and embedded. Links to original sources are provided. We Treepers are respected and encouraged to think critically, reach our own conclusions, and share them for a wonderful sort of crowd sourcing of solutions. This truly free and open exchange of ideas is often reflected in Sundance’s articles and analysis. I stay because we each have a voice that is heard equally in every conversation, and that conversation is always guarded and encouraged by the ad rem to the point that I have never seen any conversation here devolve into name callng.
Finally, I love The Tree House because Sundance. It is Sundance ‘s hard work, integrity and life philosophy that is the foundation of community.
Stumbled, then became a nightly read. Found it to have stimulating writings and substance in comments. In a subtle manner, speaks of God, country, and freedom. Expression in a respectful demeanor, but thought provoking to peak my intellectual stimulation.
I have continued to refer to this site to get the in-depth analysis of what is going on and to get information about aspects I was not aware of.
I heard about CTH from Rush Limbaugh even though I don’t listen to him on a regular basis any longer.
I have stayed with CTH because it isn’t influenced by an agenda that isn’t declared or admitted to.
I am a relatively late-comer to the party. The only other conservative person in the office where I work recommended the site because he felt that the comments were worthwhile and not the typical “your mother wears Army boots” responses seen on other sites. I read occasionally after the recommendation but became a solid “Treeper” because of two things – the outstanding forensic work by Sundance and the sense of community thru the comments of others. I have found so many useful links here in the comments and a true patriotic spirit that I can relate to. Corny? I don’t care. In a world that has filled me with disappointment over the last year, I can honestly say that I have felt a bond with people that I wouldn’t know if I tripped over them. Also, because of the daily recitation of the Lord’s Prayer, I have found a tiny trail back to a spiritual seed that was planted during childhood but that I had abandoned.
Never really paid attention to politics. However began to notice during Obama’s first term that retoric and action did not match, that journalists did not ask logical follow-up questions, that media seemed similar. Something didn’t feel right, but in this unfamiliar territory, I couldn’t put my finger on it. Curiosity aroused. Continued to watch, learn, read over those 8 Obama years. Still politically neutral. Voted for DJT liked his can-do approach, bluntness, humor, pragmatism.
POTUS first year tried to find more truthful news sources. Had cancelled city newspaper after too much unbalanced reporting or articles. Came across list of conservative web sites. I like trees, so Treehouse caught my eye. Checked it out and never left. Love the logic, reason, positive nature. Great comments, as educational as the main article.
Thank you all, and many blessings in this new chapter.
Sundance,
An addendum to my lengthy response lost in the thread…your own hard work and research, on various topics, seeking the truth…digging for information, is also a reason. The Big Ugly had to be exhausting and painful. Yet you did what had to be done.
I found the Treehouse in 2012 after the Trayvon Marin/George Zimmerman MSM pile on had started to escalate. At first I just thought it one of those “Oh my, how unfortunate. I hope that the racist southern white guy gets his just desserts.” But as the days wore on and the details began to be leaked out I started to have an uneasy feeling that the facts were not consistent with the narrative that was being propagated. I started to notice that this disconnect was pretty much evident across all media and my feelings of cognitive dissonance grew more and more alarming. I started searching around using Google, Bing, Duck Duck Go, etc. and started to find crumbs and hints of a few voices that were also questioning the “facts” as crafted by all of my old, familiar, comfortable media. Some of those sites were sampled and discarded as just as biased or pure conspiracy peddlers. BUT one that I kept coming back to was the CTH and Sundance. The more I read there, the more I got comfortable that here was a site that seemed to value pursuit of the truth through research and hard-nosed analysis. More important, here was a place where facts mattered and led to conclusions. Narrative developed as a consequence of facts instead of being the precursor. Not like my prior trusted, traditional and unquestionable sources of news. In other words I slowly began to understand that I had been lied to-for a long time-by the people and the establishments that I had trusted my entire 50+ years. And I was pissed. I came to trust Sundance and the CTH community as a place to find the truth or at least a place to start to look for it. The “Trump Phenomenon” came later. For the first time in my life I started to participate in politics. I started to contribute to campaigns. I started to go to political rallies. There was a meme that appeared that, paraphrased, said “You establishment pundits still don’t get it. Trump is not our candidate; he’s our murder weapon and the Swamp is our victim.” That meme caused me to say out loud “Yes! That is exactly how I feel.” I supported Trump. I voted for Trump. I was euphoric when WE won against the odds. I stand here today more absolutely sure than I was in November of 2016 that I Had backed the right man. I know that the forces that hate our country are trying to steal the 2020 election. And I am prepared to do everything within my power to try to help save our Republic from what I fear will a dark, miserable fate.
I found the treehouse from a link in a comment on another site. This would be during the Obama years. I read and lurked for years before setting up an account to post.
I was looking for the truth about what was going on; why this nobody community organizer with a sketchy and sealed past was suddenly president and nobody seemed to care.
The amount of research and dedication sundance and crew put in not only to get the truth out there, but to present it in a way even the average person can understand, is amazing. Add to that the great community of commenters who are also very smart involved people. It really does help to know I’m not alone in this upside down world we find ourselves in.
In early 2012, while searching for actual facts (instead of blatant MSM lies and propaganda) regarding Zimmerman/Martin, I followed a link to The Conservative Treehouse posted up by a commenter at Prof. Jacobson’s Legal Insurrection website. Up to that point, LI had been my go-to source for facts as they were known at the time, and I particularly valued the knowledge that came from reading through hundreds and hundreds of readers’ comments every day.
At the Treehouse, I quickly found more of the same: Factual investigative reporting by Sundance, and an absolute wealth of crowd-sourced information posted up in any particular comments section. In fact, CTH readers quickly became enthusiastic, expert investigative journalists in terms of ferreting out the truth of what actually happened on that fateful day in Sanford, Florida.
I prefer to read my news; the television lies, mostly (One America News being a notable exception), and can be an inefficient teacher.
Newspapers also lie, for the most part.
Much of what is found on the internet these days is also lies, but in time, as I continued to vet what I read on the Treehouse, regarding not only the actual truth related to Zimmerman/Martin but Mike Brown, as well, CTH became my go-to source for well-researched, well-cited news.
As a bonus, to my way of thinking, is the fact the Treehouse is Christian-friendly. No, not Christian-militant, but absolutely, positively Christian-friendly. What a refreshing breath of fresh air in this day and age of such rampant, evil noise.
I find the solid research and fact-finding presented daily at CTH – not only by Sundance, but by many, many articulate, well-informed Treepers, as well – to be an invaluable part of my daily regimen of truth-seeking.
Some here may remember the heartbreaking story of young Jessica Lane Chambers. Sundance, and us Treepers, participated mightily in the effort to learn the awful truth of Jessica’s murder.
At some point later, Sundance established a fundraising campaign here on CTH to purchase flowers for a memorial for Jessica. Here are Sundance’s powerful, yet peaceful, words of thanks to my wife and I, received shortly after we made a modest donation:
“Due to the kindness of people like you Jessica Lane Chambers will be honored beautifully.
Floral arrangements, ribbons, wreaths and other tasteful memorial items are currently being assembled by a wonderful family in the Courtland, Mississippi community. I think we will have the florist quite busy for a few days as they construct arrangements for Jessica.
Thank you for replacing hate with love; for caring when few are willing; for rising while others look away.
Jessica deserves to be remembered, and she will.
She will be remembered and cherished in no small part because of you.
Thank you, Merry Christmas, and may God continue to bless you and your family,
Sundance and
Admin Team
The Last Refuge”
These simple, soothing words tell you all you need to know about The Conservative Treehouse, Sundance and the Admins, and all the Treepers who have grabbed a branch to perch on over the years.
God Bless America.
Signed,
Two thankful patriots from southwest Virginia
Ditto coming in from Legal Insurrection.
Searching for truth in the Travon mess. Found it here and never went back to LI.
Jumped in as a commenter some time after the escalator ride, when I knew it was time to start stumping for Trump.
All of you here are family to me. God Bless You.
Central Va
I’m new, but I did not feel –UN-welcome here. I had exactly one person suggest I might be better off moving on. I found that I could be open about my Christianity. I needed that. I needed the exposure to other ideas, to other perceptions. There IS both a Clarity, and a Diversity of thought here. People here are decent, which I unfortunately find to rather uncommon these days.
HERE is about Ethics, responsibility, fairness, Moral Integrity and Honesty.
This is ALSO a GLOBAL community with Thinkers and communicators from all over Our World. AND-
People here are PATRIOTIC. They LOVE our country. Ideals are CHERISHED.
Those who Fail to understand the intersection of the the United States of America with Christianity
seem to be a rarity here.
God Bless America, Land that I Love.
This is my “dog, cocked ear, tilted head answer place”
You know, when your dog looks at you, tilts his head to one side trying to figure it out ?
That is when I come here. I don’t watch or read any dem. lib. sites as its hard to find out what the truth is. Others wade into the msm and try to get the wheat from the chafe, I swoop in and pick up the pieces.
Lot of great minds here, and some damn fine humor.
Don’t recall how I got here but it’s been awhile.
We know who we are, and we can spot those others too……
🙂
I found CTH while reading Facebook political posts in 2015. No need for any in depth backstory since it was only a matter of time that I would move away from Facebook world and onto something more interesting and thought-provoking.
Since retired, I have more time to check out the treehouse a few times each day and stay abreast of the situation at hand. I especially enjoy the comments; so many are humorous, intelligent, educational, friendly, insightful and then the challenging comments…..they are the best, because so many times I am provoked to respond and I have to think it through before plinking away at the keyboard to convey a rational thought or two, without offending….too much anyway. LOL!!!
I’ll prolly stick around til I die. After all, we found our way out of a tyrannical state to a wonderful, peaceful, beautiful lake in the woods, with freedom all around us and neighbors who are like-minded in so many ways. Not perfect but it is a great place to grow old and live somewhat free, at least for now.
And that’s what I believe the treehouse is for me.
I found the site through a link from a conservative sight that I doubt I visit much any more. It was the week before the Iowa Primary in 2016. My first post was about a poll that showed Cruz up. I was blasted, with one person wanting someone to do “research” on me. It soured me at first, but I came to realize it was more love of the site than hatred towards me. I was, after all, just the proverbial messenger.
I haven’t strayed from CTH because I’ve never been given a reason to. Things I may disagree with is not about being disagreeable, it’s having different ideas within the general spectrum of “Orange Man Good.”
I am pretty new to the Treehouse. If I remember correctly, somebody mentioned it on a thread at Free Republic. I have been on Free Republic since the recount of Gore vs Bush. Quickly, CTH became my first got to, followed by Free Republic. This site seems the most cutting edge and insightful of the news platforms. Probably the Flynn investigation was the hottest topic that brought me here.
Zimmerman dog and pony show brought me here the first time, then came the Benghazi lie, then Extortion 17 lit me up.. When I retired in 2014 I joined Overpasses4America and really started looking at the media hype and lie more critically.. By 2015 I was constantly looking for Sundance to tell me what really happened and why I was angry with what I was being told.. With the help of CTH blog I found I knew a lot more about a lot of things shaping our country and was able to verbalize my personal experiences with open immigration and other political corruption.. Then Trump came down the escalator.. I came to terms with my cold anger and discovered I was far from alone.. I’ve stayed with the TreeHouse forsaking all others since.. My husbands BF was a liberal democrat idiot for 35 years (our bone of contention) he was overwhelmed and ashamed when he discovered, thru the TreeHouse and other sources he now follows, what a dope he was.. they had him so hog washed he actually thought he was a atheist.. I say my prayers thanking God for bringing me to the TreeHouse and into my life.. I ask him to keep y’all safe and continue to guide us through this storm..
I remember EXACTLY how I found out about theconservativetreehouse. I was a Trump supporter frustrated by my starting lineup of news sources. Back then they were primarily Drudge, Bing News, with Breitbart filling in the gaps. As the MSM Russia Hoax grew I couldn’t find any credible pushback or analysis. My search for pro-Trump coverage took me to some unfamiliar sites. Many were flaky and questionable. One day I clicked into a ZeroHedge story. I then began reading some of the comments. (ZeroHedge comments, in my opinion, are riddled with flaky analysis and you almost have to hold your nose as you read them.) But one comment stood out for its earnestness and clarity; he was saying that some guy called Sundance had really been pursuing the Russia Hoax and Spygate stories and if you wanted in-depth analysis check out his site theconservativetreehouse.com. The strange name of the website didn’t even phase me, I was so desperate for honest coverage. So I clicked into this sight, and it has changed my life. And I have told many of my friends about it and they come here all the time. Thanks Sundance. You have been our digital generation’s version of Paul Revere, Patrick Henry, and Andrew Jackson rolled into one.
