Most CTH readers are likely aware of the term “deplatforming.” Unfortunately, the big tech control mechanism to shut down speech & assembly has now arrived on our doorstep.
One week after the 2020 presidential election, The Conservative Treehouse received the following notification:
…”given the incompatibility between your site’s content and our terms, you need to find a new hosting provider and must migrate the site by Wednesday, December 2nd.
What does this mean? It means CTH is being kicked-off the WordPress website hosting platform because the content of our research and discussion does not align with the ideology of those who define what is acceptable speech and what is not.
What was our violation? After ten years of brutally honest discussion, opinion, deep research and crowdsourcing work -with undeniable citations on the events we outline- there is no cited violation of any term of service because CTH has never violated one.
The WordPress company is not explaining the reason for deplatforming because there is no justifiable reason for it. At the same time, they are bold in their position. Perhaps this is the most alarming part; and everyone should pay attention. They don’t care.
Truthful assembly is now the risk. CTH is now too big; with a site reach of 500,000 to a million unique readers each day; and with well over 200,000 subscribers; our assembly is too large, too influential, and presents a risk… we guard the flickering flame.
Ten years of work assembling a library of factual citations and explanations of those discoveries, positions CTH to be a leading force in the rebel alliance push-back. [Heck, that’s why this place was started… that was our purpose: “The Truth Has No Agenda.”] However, that also makes us a target; hence the deplatforming.
Accepting -at its core- this move is all about politics, this is yet another reference point in the tenuous nature of where we stand. There’s no hate-speech on this website; there’s no graphic, violent, foul or abusive speech here. The ‘content‘ of the Treehouse is the same discussion that happens around your kitchen table or back porch discussion with friends. We would never cheapen or insult that conversation with vulgarity because that’s not who we are… because that’s not who our nation is. So consider this next part very carefully…
The ‘content’ is not compatible with WordPress, the world’s largest website and blog hosting service. The content within the largest blog on that global platform is what has become troublesome. “The content”.
The content on these pages is simply an ongoing discussion about freedom with criticism against any political party or entity that diminishes it. Apparently, immediately after the 2020 election, that discussion became problematic. After writing about the COVID-19 agenda,…the notification: the website will be removed.
Let that settle in…. friends and adversaries alike. Think very hard about what exactly is being represented by these actions. That’s the bad news.
So what are we going to do?
First three priorities: #1 is the security of the site content and research files with over a decade of work; #2) ensuring the ability of our assembly to remain; #3) continue the mission.
In the past several days I have begun contacting people to inform and gather counsel on what is the best course of action. On a very positive note, the Rebel Alliance is stronger than ever and no amount of effort by Big Tech is going to be able to weaken the resolve or block the message.
We will take this challenge head-on and we will use this attack against our freedom as fuel to launch CTH 2.0, a new version of The Conservative Treehouse.
I have no idea yet what it will look like… hopefully not too dissimilar to what we are already comfortable with. However, a lot has changed in the technological world since 2010/2011. There are many new and innovative ways to develop, build and create proprietary platforms.
I don’t like anything about having to be forced to do this. Readers here know I prefer comfortable quality that lasts a long time; but there is no alternative. We are being kicked-off WordPress and will have to assemble on a platform that allows free expression, free thought and free ideas to be shared, valued and appreciated.
Additionally, as I look at preliminary options for Treehouse 2.0, one guiding element is priority: I will continue to work earnestly to be deserving of your support and fellowship.

However each of us got here, it’s probably a fact that we have the turmoil of those storms in common, perhaps some unease that we could share and always, we also find fresh ground to cover from day to day. We’re developing valuable relationships as we trust one another in our community in the woods. The chatting in the branches encourages, strengthens and equips for some serious walking.
We think the Treehouse is a good armory for those who doing long distance walking for the sake of our nation. We hope you’ll think so, too. Find yourself a good branch….or just pull up a rock to the campfire.

We have shared laughs. We have lost friends. We have lost family together. We have comforted each-other. We have prayed together… and we have sat still together. Sometimes we are not able to find the words of comfort, yet we know it is just as valuable to be there, quietly, steadfast and eliminate the loneliness. We have cried together and rejoiced in each-other’s milestones… This is the source of my resolve.
We have achieved great victories; confronted injustice; done incredible crowdsourcing work that has made lives better, and we have successfully found the truth behind a multitude of frauds and schemes. Let there be no doubt, that will continue.
I have been somewhat quiet lately as I try to figure out what exactly is the next thing to do. Much like our nation, there is trepidation all around us. It is likely that CTH will look different and we may have to engage and learn some new stuff. But it will be OK.
The rebel alliance is strong… and we are angry.

As I have stated many times in comments here and on other “conservative” media sites, there is a force much stronger and more evil that is pushing for the complete deplatforming of ALL opposing opinion and factual information! This is a global force with powerful and evil nations and people spearheading it! Word Press has been ordered to comply with its masters or else!
There is a cabal of elite global leaders who seek domination over us so as to implement their goal of “one world government”! It would seem we are utterly defenseless against their onslaught!
Jesus said, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
As long as we have such freedom, we are never defenseless. What might come our way can assail us, kill us even, but not oppress and put us in bondage. Truth is never fearful. Truth can withstand opposition and differing opinion. Truth welcomes. Lies, corruption, and evil have a low tolerance level.

The sad part is that Trump has done nothing to clean up Justice. So you can’t exactly sue these people and expect a law abiding result. There is no law now for the left. They control it. WE are the only ones forced to accept the law and that law is whatever they decide it is. We know this will devolve into chaos, but it’s unfortunately our reality. I realize there wasn’t much Trump could have done with the Supreme court as it was, but his 2 picks were awful at main Justice. He will reap the full ramifications of that when the election is stolen from him right out in the open with nary a care of the law. I’m sorry you have to relocate. I almost wish we could just make our own country and start this thing over where us like minded people could pool together our own work and resources.

WP BECAME SUSPICIOUS TO ME A FEW DAYS AGO when I tried accessing CT via that option (vs directly online) and it was more complicated, trying to force me to choose various “reader” categories vs. going directly to CT. I refused the game, went back to direct online – and interpreted the move as another totalitarian assault on those who buck the authoritarians.
WHO owns WordPress? Follow the money. What do the lawyers say? Bet your “damages” could be quite high. Might fund you for a thousand years.

First off I’m not surprised,this is information warfare and this site has some of the best information there is out there so I’m very sure that the powers that be worked as hard as they could to reach this end.
I do want to know what we as users can do to help. They don’t own the internet ,I do think they think they do. After all one of their great leaders invested it right. Didn’t Al Gore make that claim at one time. they make a lot of claims. like a person who was under investigation for espionage and was so dishonest that she was booted off the Watergate Commission and has been caught lying so many times to need a calculator to count them. They told us that she was the most qualified person ever to run for the office of President. That was comical on it’s face. One of the most corrupt people in Washington DC is the most qualified ?

Although there will be issues with CDN. but maybe we should build our own little nationwide network of servers….

No teckie here, but… yesterday when I logged on, I got a message that all of my browsing history was being deleted. It took 8-10 frantic attempts at the “cancel” button before the process stopped. I NEVER ASKED that my browsing history be deleted!

What are the basics of what they did over there?
I am not technically advanced enough to explain the details. I just know that the site was put together when reddit deplatformed r_thedonald. The builder of the site claims it can never be deplatformed because it is not hosted like this and other sites are. Many people have asked to contribute money to help keep the site running and pay expenses, but contributions are not accepted due to fears of it being accused of illegal political contributions. Don’t know who is behind thedonald.win could it be The Big Guy? (not biden…puke) The REAL Big Guy
I’m sure they get cut off from using the normal ad places, but that much traffic is worth something in ads. They must be ok if they site is still running and as healthy as it seems to be.

This tells many that they’re all in and scared as heck. The whole thing is coming down on them and they cannot stop it. The lurch further into the communism abyss is terrifying for all of us. We are engaged in a galactic-level battle between good and evil. This is a setback, not to be taken lightly, but as with everything else in life, what appears to be a bad thing may in fact turn out to be a good thing. Even the “bad” events are steps on the road that will get us to where we are going, and where we are going is: A) Trump second term; and B) reestablishing the values of God, truthfulness, fairness and a government that serves the people, not the elite..

WordPress, the raw software, can be hosted virtually anywhere. There’s no need to host it at wordpress,com. WordPress based sites can be hosted at literally thousands of other web service places. No need to change to another CMS (Content Management System … someone suggested craftcms and others). You’re site can be moved elsewhere without starting over.
Yes, I keep a token presence on WordPress,com, but I keep my stuff and my wife’s business site (all WordPress based) at another hosting service. It’s better to “own” as much of your site as you possibly can, and getting away from wordpress.com will be a blessing.

It would be a blessing if you could post somewhere a quick tutorial telling bloggers how to migrate their blogs to another host site and still use wordpress software.

Sundance, have you looked at how Jim Robinson does FreeRepublic? They have their own software… although they were just forced to change data centers so there is no guarantee…. but I think their software is pretty good (if simple) for threads and I like it a lot better than WP for tracking replies etc. (I never seem to be able to keep up with any replies in WP threads).
Maybe you could license FreeRepublic’s software and host on your own server(s) or they could do it for you…. if that makes any sense at all, I don’t know.
I love that idea because I think FR’s design is WAYYY better than WP.
Although Sundance is editorial but I bet it could be adjusted to accommodate the different styles.

I am gut punched, but not surprised base don what I’ve witnessed since 11/3. “They don’t care” is the scary part of all of this. It seems each day brings more efforts to force our hands. I believe they want us in the streets in hand to bottle contact so they can enforce even more Orwellian controls on the US population. I don’t think they understand “cold anger” and why should they, it has no teeth and they can look back only 4 years and realize, “ain’t nobody gonna do nuttin.” Peace Treepers and Prayers Galore.
Very disappointing , but not surprising. All the vile stuff I see on the internet and this was one of few classy places to settle in for the 2016 race and beyond.
