We’re in trouble here, politically, from what I’m seeing, and I’ve been in and out of AZ since 1990.
Arizona numbers are looking very good for President Trump.
They are indeed. R’s just passed Dems in Early Voting in Maricopa County (where 75% or so of the population lives for those who don’t know). Out of all the early voting as well, over 400k independents have voted early.
I can tell you that MANY of those who are independent here are really Republicans who got tired of the McCain/Flake bull and changed their party affiliation so they didn’t receive all the spam crap from him and the RNC.

My paternal grandfather’s side set up hay farming in what is now Chandler in the very early 1900’s when the SRP got the canal water moving through there. My grandfather next set up a large dairy farm to supply Phoenix near what is now Glendale (now a cluster of zero lot line hipster enclaves). The maternal side did cattle ranching near Flagstaff in the late 1800’s into the mid 1900’s. Old time AZ conservatives abandoned the lower and central part of AZ a long time ago. Essentially, they were offered a ton of money for whatever land they tamed, and they took it as they got older and the kids moved away. Phoenix has been lost for many many years and I watched it. To the South, Tucson has always been stocked with crystal worshipers and fruitcakes for as long as I remember. So, that now leaves a red horizontal band of land between Phoenix and Flagstaff, as I see it. Look at the 2016 election map and you’ll see the above narrative in action.
