The Decepticon senator from Alaska, Lisa Murkowski, is the Nikki Haley of the senate. After voting against Judge Kavanaugh, today, sensing the danger, she changes her position on Judge Amy Coney Barrett.
Knowing she would likely be kicked out of office by Alaska voters for blocking the second conservative Trump nominee to the Supreme Court, Murkowski switches her position and announces she will vote to support Judge Amy Coney Barrett next week.
“I believe that the only way to put us back on the path of appropriate consideration of judicial nominees is to evaluate Judge Barrett as we would want to be judged: on the merits of her qualifications, and we do that when that final question comes before us. And when it does, I will be a yes.”

The motive behind this reversal is the obvious… The MAGA coalition is building election momentum at an astonishing rate. All across the nation Trump voters are now fully engaged, making themselves very visible, marching in massive numbers in support and the movement is in full force. It is a joyful display of incredible patriotism.

Whatever the motivations are with McConnell and the rest, I always thought Murkowski would end up voting for ACB if McConnell told her to vote that way. Murkowski owes her seat to McConnell and on anything important she will vote the way he tells her to vote. She may posture this way or that along the way, but in the end she will obey. McConnell does not want this to be a squeaker. Too many other flighty GOP senators who are not quite so completely under his control.

I just watched a little clip of Norah O’Donnell, and Gayle King, and Major Garrett, and John Dickinson, from CBS that ran immediately after the debate. I wasn’t aware of what an ass beating President Trump has coming, they did their best to warn me. But their delivery was the opposite of what you describe, Sundance. Our side is full of energy, and joy and enthusiasm. And might I add, resolve. Their manner was as if they were commentating on a state funeral. Yes they are useful idiots. But it has to weigh heavily on them as people who believed in themselves as fair and honest and kind for most of their lives. They know they are lying. They know they are selling out. They know their religion has morphed into something that will destroy the country. And I’ll bet they have inner conversations with that gun in the nightstand.
The same sort of inner turmoil has to weigh heavily on the sellout RINOs. Sure, they might have gotten into politics to grift and get rich. The Supreme Court is there to FOLLOW the Law, not create. If a ruling does not have your approval, look to the law and the legislators.
Ok good comment, heard it many times now though. What she did was up hold state law that VIOLATED federal law, check 10th amendment, she violated the constitution with that ruling. The constitution is quit clear that authorities can only Quarantine SICK people. They have zero right to shut down commerce as well. The Nuremberg Code also adopted makes it clear that they can not force any experimental medications up on us, IE the Holocaust.
She didn’t rule on any Federal laws. The plaintiffs said that the Governor did not have authority to exempt religious institutions. Amy said the religion is a valid exemption. She did not rule at all on the constitutionality of the orders, that issue was not before the court.

I may have missed it, but I never heard Murkowski or Collins say they would not vote for Barrett. I did hear both say they were against voting before the election.
