One important note of caution: there is a big difference between “authorized” and “ordered”. On May 23rd, 2019, President Trump authorized AG Bill Barr to declassify all documents and despite much optimism nothing happened {Go DEEP}. However, President Trump references that lack of inaction in the next series of tweets:
Presumably “people” who “acted very slowly” would pertain to AG Bill Barr, FBI Director Chris Wray, CIA Director Gina Haspel, State Dept Secretary Mike Pompeo and former ODNI Dan Coats. President Trump asks those agencies now to “Act!!!”
President Trump also expressed the same frustration many of us feel about how these agencies and institutions have operated only to protect their own interests. He even re-tweeted the meme of Bill Barr to drive home the point.

Whether anything comes of this latest, seemingly stronger, emphasis and request from President Trump is an unknown. However, again, this is an authorization for release of documents and not a direct order.
There are likely legal reasons for this approach, and no doubt there are advisors around the office of the president who would want him to take a more cautious approach.
Several people are pointing toward an announcement of a press conference by the DOJ tomorrow and attempting to connect the tweet-storm to the presser. However, my gut tells me they are two distinctly different topics; but we can keep our fingers crossed.
We will know if the two events are connected less than 12 hours from now.
Interestingly, albeit likely unrelated, the specific participants in the presser hold offices that are directly connected to the previous 2019 indictment of Julian Assange.
Wray’s October surprise starts tomorrow followed closely by Nanzi’s impeachment 2.0.

Given the swiftness of calling the press conference so soon after DJT’s tweets, the DOJ is going to “splain” to us that the declassification “top secret” (i.e. stuff that would embarass bureaucrats) requires approval of several different departments whose members, who, under “penalty of law”, are required to follow the law and release documents only when the law is abundantly clear. So, in the “interest of national security” they are going to take the president’s “authorization to de-classify” under advisement. They will announce that they intend to follow the president’s order, but first must confer with legal counsel, and potentially institute litigation to obtain clarification as to whether the president has the authority, without the consent of the DOJ, FBI, DNI, etc,, to unilaterally de-classify classified documents. They will say that the DOJ has a long-standing tradition of not becoming embroiled in presidential elections by dumping things pre-election, so, as a matter of established tradition and policy, they’re going to politely say “we’d love to do this for you, but let’s wait until after the election”, a la Hillary Clinton “what difference does it make?” Lindsey Graham’s “hearings” are for show. Barr has allowed this be be slow-walked. Trump, Grenell and Ratcliffe may be poised to dump it, consequences be damned. The press should be clamoring for this information, but they’re not. If Barr says “no disclosure” it will be leaked anyway. A big-ass leak, a document dump, a sh__-has-hit-the-fan, moment in Washington, D.C. for sure. I would expect Barr to issue a warning that if anyone were to “leak” this information, the DOJ will pursue them as “traitors” because after all, it a National Security issue.
