President Donald Trump announces via tweet that he and First Lady Melania have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
Earlier on Thursday evening it was announced that presidential advisor Hope Hicks had also tested positive. Prayers for Ms. Hicks, President Trump and Melania for a speedy recovery. The President’s physician released the following statement:

I have never worn a mask yet, and they will never get one on my face. Someone will have to make me a prisoner or literally kill me. It is my hill to die on. I decided that long ago. I live by true science, not superstition.
I haven’t either. I grocery shop during slow times, and the stores I go to are used to me.
The only time I would wear a mask is in a hospital setting, were there is perhaps some value to them.
What I have done is up my hand washing and be religious about not touching my eyes. If I have sleep or something else in them I wash my hands then use a clean wash cloth to loosen it.
Readyandable1, what state do you live in? I’m in Florida, pretty reasonable in the country except for the liberal county I work and shop in. They are telling businesses that they MUST post signs that customers must wear masks, and that their employees must wear masks. They have also petitioned the governor to reconsider Phase 3. UNBELIEVABLE.
I live in York County, South Carolina. The signs are posted, big whoop. Small business or big chain. We do as we please with no harassment. Places with regulars don’t even have their staff wear them.
50% wear masks; 50% don’t. Our schools are open full-time, our sports are played as normal with no masks.
Our dinning establishments are pretty normal, people don’t wear masks mostly. Some morons wear one for the .5 seconds they walk in, and of course remove them a flash later when they sit down…those are science deniers, clearly.
We have no crazy outbreak and even the BS tallies are low for our county and always have been.
If you are confronted by a store employee for not wearing a mask, simply state that you are exempt due to medical reasons. You cannot be questioned further or deny you entry or they can be held liable in a lawsuit.

Think of a snow fence or a sand fence. Can a snow flake or a grain of sand get through them? Then what good are they?
A mask doesn’t work exactly the same way, but they share some principles. The Sars-cov-2 virus is usually transmitted in droplets. The mask can stop droplets. The other thing a mask does is reduce the amount of the virus that can get to the mouth or nose. The lower the amount of the virus, the better the possibility that your immune system can fight it off.
And to me, even more importantly, a mask can reduce the amount of virus that someone with Covid-19 puts into the air. When you combine the 2, you get fairly good protection against getting the virus.
I don’t wear one. All stores are required to post mask mandate but that puts them in compliance; they have no enforcement power or requirement. That is in NC. I wore one to get into the dentist office…only to get in once in chair take off.
I rebel the mask mandate wherever/whenever possible.

I’ve had two coronavirus tests where they stick that thing up your nose. The first was deeply painful. The second was worse. The nurse drew blood and it hurt like hell afterward for a good hour. Apparently I have particularly narrow nasal passages up there (Scandinavian background?). The nurse said that one mother of six said it was worse than childbirth – presumably a slight exaggeration. The idea that White House staff and others (pro athletes) have to undergo that ordeal every few days when they otherwise feel fine is mind-blowing.
I don’t think they do the up your nose one at the WH routinely. Someone I know who went through WH screening said it was a quick test… accurate, but one with a high number of false positives. If you test positive you are tested again with a slower more accurate test, maybe the one up your nose.
I’ve had one, and only because I was having a kidney stone removed so it was required. It was not pleasant, but yours sounds brutal! So sorry!
The fast tests are much easier, you don’t have to swab so deep. There is another one that you spit into a tube. I had the one that felt like they were trying to swab my brain via my nose.

I awoke this morning to my wife upset telling me of the President’s and First Lady’s diagnosis. My first groggy thought was (already having known of Ms. Hick’s situation yesterday) “they got him at the debate, on purpose”.
I am a bit angry today. I am extremely frustrated. The things I see posted here, at American Thinker, on the MSM…. they don’t jive with my thinking. Maybe I am stupid? Perhaps.
I don’t see why this would impact election outcomes in any way, shape or form. But, why would this cause anyone to change their vote, or not vote? I don’t follow any logic to that extent. Hope Hix testing positive and the Secret Service Training Center outbreak were NOT the sources of this positive test. The President has been at far too many public places and had too many staff members test positive for this to be the case.

What if it’s a false positive and within a few days has multiple negatives?
