Unmasking PA:
Yesterday a young friend who is a local business owner mentioned that “no one” he’s encountered on the Carlisle War College / Carlisle Barracks federal property is wearing a mask. Hmmm. These are all military men and women, and their families on that property.
My next stop, following the friend’s shop, was the local post office and I was musing aloud to the friend about whether they’d allow me inside without a “face covering” in place. Federal property. Hmmm again.
No one inside the P.O. questioned this mask-less lass. I was prepared to present the federal property / not the Governor’s jurisdiction rationale, had anyone raised an objection.
The local beer distributorship had “mask required” signs plastered all over their windows and entry door. The situation looked very serious – with seriously serious looking customers entering and emerging with their beer purchases, and serious masks firmly in place. Rather than fight it, I decided we didn’t need the product.
The final stop on my list was the local CVS. The signs requiring masks were in place on the doors and windows, and with instructive diagrams about the proper positioning of the mask on a face – but I entered bare-faced anyway. No questions until I got to the register. A very nice, and properly masked employee asked me if I needed a mask, to which I replied, “no thank-you”. She inquired, “Do you have a medical condition (for exemption)?” I responded, “No”, and added “I’m done with this covid stuff.” She appeared flustered but completed the transaction.
Gotta tell you, I’m feeling braver now. The next time I’m questioned about going “mask-free”, I’m going to respond by simply and politely asking the employee to complete my transaction.
Yep. I have been inside the PO twice on the last few weeks, and no one says a thing, and, in fact, one of the clerks went into the back with a mask on and came back to her counter without it!

I have gone to the Post Office 6 days a week since this started. I have never worn a mask, since the State of Missouri, my county or city doesn’t have once either. It has just been in the last 5 weeks the post office personnel have started wearing them, probably from orders from above.

Federal Reserve Now World’s Largest Investor: Fed Now Owns Nearly One Third of All US Mortgages

The Federal Reserve has snapped up $1 trillion of mortgage bonds since March, a record pace of purchasing. The Fed bought around $300 billion of the bonds in each of March and April, and since then has been buying about $100 billion a month. It now owns almost a third of bonds backed by home loans in the U.S. Buying the securities has pushed mortgage rates lower, with the average 30-year rate falling to 2.91% as of last week from 3.3% in early February.
Also, according to Bloomberg News, the Fed now owns a total of 22,913 different securities (mostly bonds) and it is the world’s biggest investor. Talk about crowding out the private sector and picking winners and losers in the private sector!
The Fed also paid over 100% (above par value) for many of the corporate bonds that they have purchased. And bond fund managers like Lacy Hunt are patting themselves on the back for their profitable bond trades front running the Fed, ECB, etc and claiming they were right about deflation? LOL
So, we have a bunch of hedge fund managers that are unhedged, but don’t worry a lot of them are going to get bailouts and then both houses of congress are just going to lie about it. Heck, you got even Paul Ryan now. He started a special purpose acquisition company, a SPAC. Even Paul Ryan is copying his former buddy Mittens Romney. You got politicians now starting SPACs. These are special purpose acquisition vehicles. They’re gonna try to buy up assets for pennies on the dollar now like corporate raiders, like private equity guys and then they’re gonna try to, if the stock market doesn’t crash soon, they’re gonna buy up all these assets and then they’re going to create a really gobbledygook company like a diversified company and they’re going to say, “Oh, this company is undervalued!” and “Oh, this company has so much growth!” and “Oh, this company is going to pay a dividend soon!” and then they’re gonna dump it on retail shareholders and then when the stock market crashes that thing’s gonna crash, but all the insiders like Paul Ryan and Mittens Romney and all these other, there’s I’m sure lots of democrats doing this, too, limousine liberals and champagne socialists, they’re gonna be rich because they already cashed out. Welcome to dystopia.

But, Biden had to be the candidate in order to protect himself, the previous admin, and everyone connected to it from any threat of prosecution. If Biden is the Dem candidate for President, then all the truth about his Ukraine corruption gets painted as merely political attacks from his opponent. And seeing as how he was the Vice President during the previous administration, he is connected to Spygate as well, so all of that would just get painted as political also.
Self preservation was the #1 reason Biden got in the race. Winning was secondary. Everyone else involved in the crimes of the previous admin propped him up so as to protect themselves and help deflect the attacks that come their way.
Putting Biden up as the candidate was a preemptive defense.
I think the Impeachment was textbook “defense by going on offense”. I also think that sometime in the last few years, when the truth of Biden’s involvement with Ukraine was coming to light, he had some sort of a mental breakdown due to the stress. Maybe a stroke.

I reject use of the word “downplay” and prefer the word “soften”. The President deliberately softened the impact that the virus would have on the American people. He did this to give them time prepare and to adjust to the new circumstances. His goal was to prevent public panic, which would have made the entire situation worse for everybody.
He did precisely what a responsible leader and should have done.
He was cautious and considerate about how he released information and what the govt. was doing. He never hid things just released the information in amounts that people could absorb without going into crazy panic mode. Look at the whole toilet paper fiasco and imagine how much worse it could have been.
That’s called leadership and he’s right, confidence, strength, action, protecting the people and compassion are part of a good leader. We luckily have one of those.
