We have discussed the potential for SAAMS (Surface to Air Missiles) MANPADS (Man Portable Air Defense Systems) being used against passenger planes, specifically in the North Africa region, amid these pages for over 4 years.
Did it just happen? …. and would they even tell us if it did?
ISIS is claiming responsibility for the loss of a Russian passenger aircraft killing 224 passengers and crew:
The Russian jet which crashed in Sinai killing all 224 people on board did not lodge an SOS call before it hit the ground, it has emerged.
[…] The Islamic State group affiliate in Egypt has claimed it downed the aircraft, but has not said how it might have done so. Cairo and Moscow, however, have denied any possible terrorism link in the incident, one of the deadliest Airbus crashes in the past decade. (link)
Here’s the case for how this can connect to the Libyan Uprising and Clinton’s Rebels.
In 2011 thousands of SAAM’s (Surface to Air Assault Missiles), and MANPADS went missing during the Libyan Islamist uprising. Some went West and South, further into Africa as noted by Chad’s President Deby (asking for help), and some went East into Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.
These points are not disputed. They are widely accepted. Here’s a few data images from the 2011 time-period when these missiles went missing.
It is a fact that from 2002 through 2011 not a single U.S. air asset (Afghanistan and Iraq) encountered ground operated missiles. However, in 2012 we lost so many aircraft it was called the worst air losses since the Vietnam War. We have meticulously outlined the specific instances of several losses (HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE) within the Benghazi Brief.
It is also a fact that we had people in Libya and Egypt in 2011/2012 trying to track down and recover the missiles. Again, this may be a lesser known fact, but it is not disputed by anyone.
We know from a speech delivered by Asst. Secretary of State Shapiro in Feb of 2012 the actual program to recapture the Zero Footprint weapons began in August of 2011 about two months before Gaddaffi was killed:
Once the stalemate broke and the fighting rapidly shifted in the TNC’s [Libyan Transitional National Council] favor in August, we immediately deployed a State Department expert from the MANPADS Task Force to Benghazi.
Mark Adams, who you will hear from shortly on the panel, is the head of our MANPADS Task Force and spent considerable time on the ground in Libya.
[… ] The initial primary objective was to reach an agreement with the TNC to set up a MANPADS control and destruction program that would enable us to set up what we call our Phase I efforts.
Phase I entailed an effort to rapidly survey, secure, and disable loose MANPADS across the country. To accomplish this, we immediately deployed our Quick Reaction Force, which are teams made up of civilian technical specialists.” (link)
There is absolutely no doubt those Libyan missiles SAAM’s and MANPADS were missing, and taken by al-Qaeda as stated by observers and operations people inside Libya. On March 26th 2011 I personally wrote the following:
To think of these guys having Surface to Air Missles (SAM’s) is beyond frightening. If used in Europe, or shipped to America they could kill tens of thousands of commercial airline travelers. What the heck is it going to take to get the media to expose this direct linkage. President Deby is sounding the alarm….. It’s 3:00am… Anyone listening?…. ANYONE?… A.N.Y.O.N.E ? What’s it going to take? A couple of 747’s shot down over the coast?….. /SD
Western media lost interest with the issue. However, over the course of the past several years we kept track of reports from the Northern Sinai region and al-Qaeda’s joining with the Islamic State, ISIS, in 2015 specifically on the issue of Grad Rockets and SAAMS.
Which led to this previous story of 25 rockets and 500 SAAMS being discovered in August of 2014. Please pay attention to the exact area where they were found:
2014 – Egyptian security forces have seized a large number of anti-aircraft rockets and missiles in a mountainous area in the southern governorate of Aswan, state news agency MENA reported.
Forces found 25 anti-aircraft rockets and 500 missiles early on Monday in Wadi Al-Naqra, northeast of Aswan, MENA said without elaborating. (link)
Now LOOK WHERE THIS EVENT TODAY TOOK PLACE:
“The aircraft took off from Sharm el-Sheik on the Red Sea and was on a flight to St Petersburg in Northern Russia when it crashed” (link)
This Russian passenger plane came down (shot down?) in the region where the anti-aircraft rockets were previously found !
Is this a coincidence?
Would Egypt, Russia or the U.S. admit – if this latest incident was indeed carried out by ISIS as an attack against a passenger plane?
EGYPT TODAY – […] The Israeli Defence Forces confirmed they had intelligence assets in the region at the time of the crash. According to a statement: ‘Since this morning the IDF assisted with aerial surveillance in the efforts to locate the Russian airplane that lost contact over the Sinai Peninsula. ‘The IDF has offered continued assistance to both Russia and Egypt if required.’ The wreckage was found roughly 60 miles south of the North Sinai town of El-Arish, Egyptian officials said.
