House Speaker John Boehner will hold a press conference in 10 minutes.   We’ll attempt a live blogging update / Discussion thread.

7:17pm  Start.
Speaker – No-one wants to default on the debt.     The discussions broke down for two reasons.   First they changed their mind and wanted to raise taxes.   We had a revenue agreement, the white house moved the goal posts.   There was an agreement in place until yesterday when Obama called for an additional $400 billion in taxes.
Second:  They refused to get serious about cutting spending.   That’s the bottom line.   I take the same oath of the President and it is not in the best interest of this country for us to ignore the spending issues that we face.  This is a Big debate.
Until recently the President demanded that we raise the debt limit without an strings attached.  2 days after being sworn in the Treasury Secretary demanded a clean debt ceiling increase.   I responded making it clear that spending reforms needed to be done to consider raising the debt ceiling.
Question:   Reports showed a $3 trillion dollar spending reduction.  Why did the talks break down.
Answer:   After standing back and looking at these proposals it was obvious that the real cuts that need to be made were simply being avoided.
Question:  Frustration with the White House (Shite House)
Answer:   The president and I have been respectful and firm, there are frustrations but I do not feel there are damages to our relationship.
Question:   Will you attend the meeting tomorrow
Answer:  Yes Ma’am!
Question:    Do you trust him? (Obama)
Answer:   “I TRUSTED HIM”  The president believes in increasing taxes on American people.   People do not understand the divergence between fiscal sanity and the regulations on the economy.
Question:   Were you pressured to walk away by your caucus.?
Answer:   There was an agreement with the White House for $800 billion in revenue.  The president walked away from his own proposal, changed his mind, and asked for an ADDITIONAL $400 billion in new taxes.
Question:   Where to go from here.
Answer:   I am confident that the bi-partisian leadership conference will be able to come to an agreement and eliminate the worry of a default against the full faith and credit of the country.
Press Conference end 7:27
