As President Trump, DHS and ICE continue the border enforcement and deportation effort there are some statistics now worth reviewing.
The U.S. Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) is reporting a population decline of 3 million foreign born persons in the USA as a result of the ongoing Trump administration effort to locate, capture and remove illegal aliens. Obviously, it has taken time to get up to speed on the overall deportation side of the issue; however, Trump has effectively removed a year of open border entrants.
The current number of foreign-born persons is now at the Jan 2024 level and declining as the four years of the Biden surge are being removed.
There is still a long way to go, and against the Lawfare opposition it has been a tough slog. It also took a long time for DHS, CBP and ICE to retool and get up to speed. That said, the pace of exfiltration is now faster than before. More illegals are being identified and removed at a faster pace.
Additionally, as word spreads about the consequences of not self-deporting, more unlawful migrants are now reevaluating their risk. While it is still early, the pace is rapid enough to completely eliminate the Biden surge. There is more optimism for that outcome than before. The issue now is one of political resolve against a hardened, leftist, communist, internal enemy who support open-borders.
♦ The total foreign-born population declined 2.9 million from January 2025 to July 2026. This follows an 8.3 million increase in the prior four years during the post-Covid border surge.
♦ Only 44 percent of the decline in the foreign-born are workers; the rest are children, the elderly, and other non-workers. This fact, along with employment gains by the U.S.-born, mitigates the impact on the labor market and may help explain why the survey of businesses does not show a dramatic decline in workers.
♦ The number of immigrant workers has declined by a little less than 1.3 million, but the number of non-working immigrants is down 1.6 million. Overall, only 44 percent of the decline in immigrants is among workers, even though 60 percent of the foreign-born were workers in January 2025. Those who are not working are primarily children, the elderly, full-time caregivers, and others who are not employed. The disproportionate decline among non-workers, along with employment gains by the U.S.-born mitigates the labor market impact of the decline in immigrant workers and may help explain why the survey of businesses that measures nonfarm payroll employment still shows an increase in jobs held.

It’s not going to happen. Our judicial system will be bogged down to the point that it will takes YEARS for any criminal accusations to be prosecuted. Look at the Lawfare that we already have.
After the Covid lockdowns when courts were closed, it took 4 to 5 years to lessen the backlog.
Every pro-immigration lawyer and judge will do their best to file continuances and all sort of paperwork to slow the prosecutions to zero.
Very few employers will ever be prosecuted. Civil fines range from $300 to $2,000. It will cost the taxpayers much more than that to have enough attorneys to bother with this avenue of disincentivizing hiring illegals.
PDJT is choosing to change the market for illegal labor by removing the Supply of Labor instead of dealing with the Demand for Labor.

Of course it is. The foreigners have relocated to the United States and increasing their number here so they are no longer foreign born. Have you ever counted how many kids and strollers trail behind many of these foreigners now living here?

Requiring housing providers, banks and utility providers to only do business with citizens and lawful residents would make self-deportations solve 90% of the problem.
Start by enforcing the decades old felony laws on the books for those aiding and abetting illegals in giving them housing, employment, welfare, evading ICE, etc.
Prosecuting those people helping illegals in so many ways will go much further when there are real costs to them in choosing to do so.

I bet that a lot of “those who are not working” were on the government dole is one way or another. We know the children received free schooling and free meals while they were there. I cannot imagine how much free stuff we gave to these foreigners.

The gnashing of teeth among the legacy state media talking heads at this kind of news would make an entertaining reality TV episode.
I remember thinking, while listening to some of the gaslighting and outright lies among Democrat members during Brandon Gill’s recent hearing on birth tourism, “what part of illegal do you not get??” The U.S. has all the permissions it requires to allow in temp workers, if they are truly needed, to address labor shortages. But there is no valid reason for allowing millions of un-vetted people, many among the worst elements of their native societies, to crash our borders and then getting weepy and hysterical about it when they’re sent back home. Is the message from the Left’s caterwauling on the subject that the illegals’ home countries really are the hell-holes the president has said they are? No? Then what’s wrong with them going home, it’s their home for goodness’ sake!
i never expected the Trump administration to deport all of them in 18 months, not in a country where half the black robes are alien sympathizers and activists in their own right. But this administration has done more than any in my lifetime to address the problem of illegal immigration, and to reverse its trajectory, than any in the last 40 years.
That is saying something.
