At the core of the issue is the administration executive order that requires states to send their voter rolls to the U.S. Postal Service for mail service for mail-in ballots. The USPS would then cross-check with DHS and Social Security records to ensure each of the names and addresses were eligible to vote before mailing them a ballot.
Obviously, the blue states -Democrat States- are refusing to comply with the USPS rule, the reason is simple. A significant number of the blue state registered voters are not eligible voters (illegal aliens etc.) If the states allowed cross-checking of their voter rolls the American people would see just how many illegal voters are registered; this would significantly reshape the U.S. election. The scale of the issue is up for debate.
That said, the anxiety forms the baseline of opposition where blue states are suing in every court possible to stop the postal service requirement. The Trump executive order also directs the Postal Service to block delivery of mail-in ballots entirely from states that refuse to share voter lists with the federal government.
Today the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 [RULING HERE] that lifted one of the lower court injunctions that was filed as a lawsuit in Massachusetts. The court ruled that Boston-based Judge Indira Talwani (Obama appointee) engaged in “a string of speculations to find this suit justiciable.”

The three DEI justices (Brown-Jackson, Kagan, Sotomayor) all dissented from the majority opinion, because of course they did.
WASHINGTON – […] More than 20 blue states sued to block Trump’s order, saying it threatens to upend their planning for the midterms in November and intrudes on their authority to administer elections.
The Supreme Court’s conservative majority said those states lacked standing in part because it’s unclear just how the administration will implement the order, although the administration on Friday released a final Postal Service rule addressing more details.
“The Court’s disposition of this application does not mean that any measure taken by the Government to implement the Order will necessarily be lawful. On that score, time will tell. But the Order itself does not harm the States, so the District Court lacked jurisdiction to bar the Government from trying to implement it,” the court said in its unsigned majority ruling.
The high court faulted the judge who issued the injunction, Boston-based Obama appointee Indira Talwani, for engaging in “a string of speculations to find this suit justiciable.”
Voting rights and civil rights groups are also suing over Trump’s plan. Earlier this month, Talwani granted a separate injunction in that case blocking the Postal Service from complying with Trump’s order. It’s unclear how that litigation will be impacted by the high court’s order. (read more)

Next they need to focus on last minute registrations. Voters should register at least 30 days prior to Election Day . If they miss that deadline then they can wait until the next vote.
No more registration at 5 minutes prior to polls closing.
Definitely!
There are all kinds of legal, commercial, and educational situations where missing a deadline can cause a person to miss out on some benefit. People understand that these situations are par for the course. You dont usually see people arguing that reasonable deadlines are unfair.
That is, except for people who want to corrupt the electoral process.
It’s going to take a lot more than a SC ruling to keep Democrats from rigging the mid-terms.
100%^^
Unless the people who engage in this cheating start to drop off the face of the earth, nothing will end this, no matter what any court says.
Is it just me, or is anyone else starting to experience “Judicial Fatigue”?
It’s the result of Dems’ lawfare against everything Trump does. He’s willing to “fight all the way to the Supreme Court.”
This will be back in the same judges court for another similar case. She will grant the Dems another TRO and unless 47 admin asks for immediate review by SCOTUS they will punt when they see it in late September as it’s too close to election blah blah. Not sure if they will take it up when asked anyway. Right now the reversed the TRO as a standing issue. Judge will place the TRO back on once the case brings up the EO is in their opinion a violation of law. (The SCOTUS only reviewed that she was wrong as to the plaintiffs standing)
The majority essentially also found that the plaintiff states jumped the gun, and repeatedly emphasizes that the EO itself is an internal directive to executive-branch officials and doesn’t require the states to do anything.
“Article III prohibits federal courts from stacking hypothetical on hypothetical to speculate that harm will eventually materialize.”
That last point should be a wake-up call to other district court judges, and perhaps some appeals courts, that have other cases with such kinds of hypotheticals.
Thank you, Sundance!
Yes!
Let’s make it harder to ballot havest.
Despise that term…..harvest should mean reaping good benefits, gathering up what you have planted…….not stealing what isn’t yours.
No reaping illegal votes….read’em and weep thieves.
How about calling it for what it is, Ballot Scrounging.
For just one day in the mess-a potamia of US elections, I am grateful that the superior minds on the US Supreme Court set some rules re mail in ballots. I don’t care how many heads are exploding about this. Its about time this Covid era scam ends.
Jackson said the litigation situation in this case was “Kafkaesque.” I wonder how many of Franz Kafka’s works she’s read. If any.
Jackson can read?
red sanctuary state utah will also refuse to comply, DMV automatically registers illegal aliens to vote when they are given a driver’s license and polling volunteers don’t confirm citizenship when they vote. Mail-in ballots add to the issue of illegal aliens voting in elections at all levels. I’ll wager that millions of illegal aliens have been voting in all 50 states at the local, state and federal level for decades.
It’s why thune and the rino old guard will do everything to keep the SAVE Act from passing….. if cheap foreign illegal labor goes away, so do their big money donors. France uses paper ballots and counts ballots on election day, America needs to return to that, otherwise the cheating will always exist…
wake up the Republic…
Let’s not forget that deep red Florida counts 95+% of ballots within one hour after the polls close. If the 3rd largest state by population can do it, so can all the blue states.
Colorado here. The Democratic Party is running the same game on Utah that they ran on Colorado in the 2000s–motor voter automatic registration plus mail in voting yields undetectable election fraud via ballot harvesting. Colorado went from deep red in the 1990s to purple in the 2000s to deep blue within 2 election cycles of the motor voter and mail-in ballots passing in 2012. Utah will do the same if there is no intervention.
Red state Utah will not have a choice in the matter. The USPS is not going to mail ballots to voters that are not on the DHS approved list. Without the masses of ballots mailed to ineligible voters who registered at DMV, ballot harvesting fraud will not be possible on the scale it has been in the past. The country will be shocked at how well Republicans do in November. The MSM will blame “low voter turnout” but the truth will be that the fraudulent ballots did not get voted.
As long as the U.S. Postal Service is not filled with corrupt Dem voters
It is!
The American Postal Workers Union, a Democrat support group, is as far left as the Teacher Unions. They are not to be trusted with our ballots. They were up to no good during the election theft of 2020. For example, missing tractor trailors in PA with thousands of unmarked ballots from New York; Mail-in ballots found destroyed in ditches all over the US.
Burning the midnight oil, SD?
Things are speeding up.
Yet again, our president engages in another Sisyphean task to stay the course through America’s political labyrinth.
God bless him! 🙏🇺🇸
It’s not clear how USPS tracking is a closed system not open to leaks and manipulation by harvesting and counting if non-USPS drop boxes are permitted
And the dissenting opinion was…?
My understanding is the Supreme Court has paused a lower court’s ruling that blocked parts of President Donald Trump’s executive order limiting mail-in ballots with a 6-3 vote.
This ruling does not have anything to do with the new USPS mail-ballot rules. Another injunction still blocks those rules.
